Been re-reading my blacklight edition of journal 3 and I forgot the part where it's revealed that Fiddleford was using the memory gun on Stanford repeatedly to get away with stuff he wouldn't agree with.

There are SO many cool interactions and lore things we can look forward to now that Rubius says he'll come back to QSMP (not only as an angel / demon, but potentially as a human too!), but that little detail reminded me of something:

Even though q!Vegetta and q!Rubius were mutually interested in each other wayyyy back in the beginning of the series, as an Angel / Demon, Rubius said he can't have relationships with humans because it's against the rules.

But a bit ago on stream, Rubius said that he's thinking about having a "human" side so he can build and do more things on the server as a regular player. I'm excited because this means he can have more casual interactions with people and we can see him interacting with his friends more (and he can experience The Horrors), but also...

I think we're in for some very interesting drama in the next few weeks.*

* ( Assuming Rubius doesn't get harassed off the server by toxic shippers and weird fans of the Eggs again. Please be nice to Rubius and welcome him back kindly, he's a very cool guy and his character is SO interesting )

Not me finding out like a day late that one of the Arcane head writers confirmed on a livestream that they intended Jayce and Viktor to be platonic??? I swear to god one of these days someone somewhere will learn how to not put aggressively romantic/sexual metaphors/imagery in their so called platonic male friendships on screen and then act surprised when people notice but I guess it's not this day. 'two grown men' tyrion in the books is 24 and sandor is like 27 and no way sansa gets with either of them before wow which means she'll be at least 16 which makes it an entirely reasonable age gap within westeros customs and norms like lit no one thinks sansa should have been with either of them in the actual canon so you do you

'because they're ugly' my pal idk how to explain it anymore when it's obvious in the text but grrm has a thing for beauty and beast narratives, the entire point of that trope is that one of the two isn't stereotypically good looking and certainly that ain't sansa out of whoever else it is and sansa in the beginning thinks marrying a pretty guy is the bee's knees and then the narrative goes like 'yeah all the pretty guys you thought were great are also horrid people inside' and in this kind of narrative the point is realizing that what you thought was a+ in the beginning isn't what you actually want/need so yeah two **ugly** guys that everyone treats like shit because they're not standard attractive and have trauma and so on will be more likely endgame options for sansa's bc her entire shtick is falling in love with someone who's **ugly** outside and not so much inside which neither sandor or tyrion are so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

idk if you read the books but all of sansa's asos chapters + affc ones are her basically thirsting after sandor and convincing herself he kissed her first so she can like tell herself a narrative where *she* picked the guy who was her first kiss and so on when everyone else is basically exploiting her and fucking littelfinger took that like............ that's basic romance novel 101 idk what to tell you take it up with grrm not me

tldr: sandor or tyrion (not both) are the only two characters that are viable for sansa as love interests looking objectively at the narrative, you don't like that go take it up with grrm but I can 100% assure you that either of them is way more likely than the guy she thinks is her brother and is the only one of her siblings she wasn't close to while she was the only one of his siblings she wasn't close to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh god this is a whole can of worms that I’d love to explain

so I originally was actually a really big riddle fan when I started, he’s the entire reason I started playing (and then I met Azul and jumped ships. Still love riddle tho), I didn’t know a ton abt Scarabia so I kinda just, default shipped Jamikali bc i didn’t know a ton, so my brain just paired them together (now I actually have a lot more intricacies with my ships. I don’t think I ship any of the ships I did at the beginning except for rookvil. Nothing against most of them, I just like them with other ppl more)

then I encountered jamiazu (…I think from zvezdacito’s art? It was definitely art but they were in the background) and was kinda like “huh. This feels really out of pocket. Why do they ship-“ so I looked into it. And then I kept seeing like their moments in game and I just, fell in love with it (I also think that around the time I was falling out of interest of jamikali. Nothing against it but to me I don’t think that they could ever be healthy unless Jamil was like. Away for years-)

the most concrete reference I have is the first time I drew them, which was January ish. They look WAY different from how I draw them now bc I slowly memorized what they looked like and started adding my own details.

and I’ve been in the fandom since… October 2022 ish? That was very spotty tho bc I have adhd and it was only a minor hyperfixation on the side of my main one (which was… Genshin-), but I didn’t seriously get into until December 2022

but yea!! I really really like them. I genuinely think they have the best dynamic and what could be the healthiest relationship. (other than silkali, but neither of them should be in the villain school in the first place so-) (also Jamil’s voice actor agrees that they’d be close friends. So HA-)

a lot of my hyperfixations also center around ships (bc they center on characters usually. Which then goes to whoever I like them with the best,)

The "fruity four" thing really was a great example of this fandoms strange relationship with the character's sexuality (excluding robin because she canonically a lesbian ofc), and by that I mean have you ever seen that tumblr post about how people will hc a characters sexuality completely based on their personality? That's like. Exactly what I'm talking about here, in particular this weird Asshole = Heterosexual thing going on. So you'll end up with people (fans aren't already invested in Gay Mike Truthism (tm)) who are like Nancy is actually a lesbian! Steve is bi! Dustin in pan! Lucas is bi! Mike is the Token Straight Friend though because he's a dick and I don't like him! And it's just weird to watch because ofc I have no problem with hcs, god knows I have my own, but it's like trying to hit the bullseye with a dart and instead you pluck someone's eye out with it.

And this fandom attitude just doesn't mesh with any media that actually seeks to tell a complicated story about a gay boy in the 80s who feels all the worst feelings about himself and the people around him. Yeah of course he's going to be a bit of a grouch. Maybe a bit of a meanie head as he has to pretend to be heterosexual. Maybe he does actually deserve to be with the boy he's in love with though?

It could be that it isn't explicit yet that Mike is very possibly gay, fair enough, but something similar is done with Will. From the beginning its been pretty obvious that his character was queer, but you even still get people (who aren't fans of will and mike obviously) who will be like oh he cries too much. Oh he's so pathetic. Or he's so weak when he's giving monologue about being different and how that makes him feel like a mistake, how he's clearly suffering from the long term effects of the abuse he's suffered from Lonnie and from bullies.

Idk it just feels to me like the point is being missed. Badly.
