udai and akaashi facetiming over why akaashi thought it was absolutely necessary to strike out an overly-indulgent exposition scene but udai gets distracted bc why tf is akaashi. who drinks caffeinated beverages like water. who pays no heed to how well his meal of choice corresponds to the time of day/night. who he swore was deathly allergic to non-processed convenient store and non-fast food. is so obviously and so carefully meal prepping well-balanced and objectively healthy meals in cutesy matching tupper sets.

It's been a long year and it's only February…

Well, it's time to put this out there: I've had a fairly shitty few years (like, haven't we all, obviously), but it's included a long, expensive legal battle against unscrupulous cysts, which is finally concluded satisfactorily save being left somewhat skint on the other side of it. Doesn’t help that said battle meant that I had to move house - not exactly a low activity on the expense and stress scales…

So I'm looking for extra work, to help while we wait for the Luxury Space Communism to kick in (I'd settle for Universal Basic Income or an end to the Housing and Cost of Living Crisis, tbh).

Things I do to a professional standard include:

Creative Mentoring and Tutoring (writing and performance techniques, especially for poetry - bespoke or standard workshops available for groups as well as one-to-one).

By the Gods, he never would have expected the great Gale of Waterdeep to consider someone as inept as Osian a friend... Someone to be held up to an equal standing? Surely not. He was too subpar to be considered as such.

But something came to him as they sat under that star-dazzled illusion Gale cast. Perhaps he wasn't sitting next to Gale of Waterdeep anymore. But Gale Dekarios. Gale had been struggling internally - it was obvious to them all. But only Osian truly understood the pressures that would have come from an order from Mystra herself. A Goddess he too followed, to a degree. It was of no surprise it held heavy on Gale's mind. As they sat there, speaking about it all, Osian wondered if he would have followed Mystra's orders. He probably would have...his life meant so little after all. But seeing how those thoughts looked in someone he looked up to? It hurt.

Osian was not one for touching, he preferred his personal space to remain his own. It was easier to manage people that way - easier to keep them at bay so he could concentrate on his studies. But for his friend, he'd make an exception. Osian reached across, putting a hand on Gale's shoulder and giving it a light squeeze.

i love making a post venting my frustrations with the isolation and abuse homeschooling facilitated for me just for, 8 notes in, someone to write a long essay being like "well ackshually"

bitch i was abused horrifically. i was alone and isolated. dont come at me with "homeschool kids DO get socialization" no i am literally a walking example that most of us dont. i dont care what good, progressive and homeschool parent youve met that did the bare minimum, do you know how many children have been abused to death with no one in their life to help them because they were isolated and homeschooled?

sometimes my job is like. i am being hunted for sport. if i mess one thing up, i will die. everyone here hates me and is refusing to even be civil with me and that's affecting my workload.

and then other times i finish all my work for the day at 10 AM and can just dick around and get paid $30 an hour to do it.

Where does Battle of the Writers rank on your Yim ranking? And I'm more curious if Tutor's shows are the same??

I... I struggle with TutorYim a bit.

I love them, I think they're more victims of unclear writing in Middleman's Love and straight up bad writing in Battle of the Writers (ironically), but... Cutie Pie is the only *show* I've seen where I felt like there was much chemistry?

Appearances as themselves, they're fine, I'm talking characters.

Middleman's Love was trying to do something in showing the world from Jade's eyes as someone on the spectrum. I respect that. It kind of was jarring against Mai's POV scenes where that lens isn't there, but I can tell what they were trying for.

And Battle of the Writers... The pacing on that was absolute crap, and key scenes were omitted in favor of nonsense that thought it was paying off things that they CUT to make room for more sex.

I genuinely wonder if they even had a complete script when they started filming, it felt so sloppy.

But the side effect of both of those shows flaws was that... the chemistry just... I didn't see it. In flashes, in moments, yes, but not consistently.

And it's mainly and largely the fault of the writing. I'd love to see what they can do with a GOOD script that is WELL THOUGHT OUT and PACED.
