No okay cause it’s 1:51am in the morning and I am so emotional about Altaïr and his goddamn children. I am so upset about his children and how he had /two sons/ and no daughters and how it is so poetic that he had /two chances/ at giving his sons a childhood free of hurt and free of harm and he lost /one/ and then his /best/ friend and then his /wife/ and then everyone else within the span of like. A fucking week.
I’m so emotional and it’s so unfair how he was just. Like there was never EVER any sort of reprieve for him. He rebuilt the Brotherhood in hopes that people could connect with their family better? He rebuilt the Brotherhood and made it so that Assassins wouldn’t have to cut their hands and mutilate themselves personally because they’ve already given up so much for the cause? And he had immense character growth and he drew PICTURES OF HIS WIFE. IN THE CODEX. HE DREW. MARIA. A PORTRAIT BUST OF MARIA. IN THE CODEX.
He was a man filled with so much love and had so much love in him to give. His codex is so… the translated codex is written and filled with so much curiosity and intrigue, and he’s just
Like. GUYS. he’s not edgy or broody !! He was never edgy or broody!! He became soft! He was always soft!! He had the capacity for softness all along!!! He was just some guy!! Some man who did NOT deserve the ending that he got I think. Like honestly. Like he DIED ALONE TOO and he said goodbye to Darim and then fucking Marco Polo lost his codex and
Ill never understand fandom interpretation of Altaïr as some weird fucking !! Silent and cold and emotionless guy!! He was kind!! He was kind and he loved people and he had sons who grew up in HIS image!! He raised a family! He was always snarky and arrogant, but he was never EMOTIONLESS. and when he mellowed out he was LOVING and he probably loved all his sons and Malik’s son and Maria and Malik and he probably wished and prayed for ten hands at one point just so he could protect all of them.
And then they died.
I am a firm believer that Sef Ibn-La’Ahad died knowing his father was betrayed. Idc. My mental health is in shambles. Idc.
And. And knowing how it all worked out makes me so fucking mad and so sad and it’s 1:56am now and I hate this stupid game I want an AC1 Remake please it’s all I ask. I could write essays upon essays on this game it’s why it’s such a deep deep hyperfixation and special interest for me. God. Altaïr. Man.
for the sake of my mental health can we all lie and say that sef ibn-la'ahad died knowing his father was betrayed and that he knew his father wouldn't order his death
#I’m rambling#but I love altaïr so much#altaïr ibn la'ahad#assassin's creed#no one outside of tumblr cares about him#my boy.#I’m so upset.#I’m so tired.#I’m so upset#abbaas???#NO BECAUSE IT’S NOT FAIR.#ueueueueueueue#MY BOY :(

𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐍 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐈 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐓: I previously spoke on leo and where you are a bit picky in a healthy way, now it’s virgo’s turn, but with a twist, since virgo naturally rules the 6th house wanting the best may take a toxic turn.. now desiring to better something won’t be in the sake of our pleasure or things that’ll make us and our inner child happy (since leo rules our 5th house and these descriptions are attached to it)
Unfortunately now wherever virgo falls in your chart will make you have a very tiring desire to fix it’s matters.. perfect them, until it affects you and your mental health in a draining way, and you’ll start feeling anxious so much about it, (virgo rules 6th house and mercury)
Hope the connection makes sense!, don’t forget that sometimes signs that follow each other in astro are a bit attached and may or may not be a different side of the same coin.. take libra and Scorpio for example, you’ll always find some links that associates these signs together!.
𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 | 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟔°,𝟏𝟖° 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐂
Here you are quite critical of yourself in general, especially and obviously on your appearance your outlook on the world and how first impression are supposed to be, that’s why you may hate beginnings, job interviews or new things, because you care so much about appearances even if you hate to admit it, that’s why you try to perfect the way you dress, the way you look and act to no end, you just can’t seem to be satisfied with who you are, if you’re too loud you’ll bully yourself until you barely speak two decent words and so on.
You’re the type to change your hairstyles alot, always looking for that perfect one that matches your face type and those asian beauty ABBAA tests, and you really try to perfect yourself as much as you can.
𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 | 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟔°,𝟏𝟖° 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞.
You may or may not be highly critical in regards of how you spend your money, and also in regards of how much your income is, meaning you are 24/7 working on ways to get more money, ways to fix your finances and possessions, you always try to perfect these aspects, that’s why you may be indulged in so many side hustles and jobs!. You also may be critical of how much you eat, counting calories, singing if it’s one of your hobbies, luxury items you buy or even your beauty products, you may be the type to go too deep in searching for a face serum that solves a simple problem like black heads for example until you just fall into a deep pit of weird chemical acids like Ascorbic, BHA, salicylic etc.
𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 | 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟔°,𝟏𝟖° 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞.
Critical in terms of how you communicate, you may be a bit shy, so you try to open up more!, you may be a member of ‘TMI’ club so you try to just shut up, depends, also you always stress on your thoughts, ideas or just how you think in general, you really watch the way you think closely until you fry your brain out, you also may be a part or LOA tumblr!, give yourself a break dude, you are intelligent enough, no need to read 117261 books a year.. it won’t really make your smarter or more cunning.. oh yeah and kinda cliché but you may try to be the perfect neighborhood, these people give me ‘the girl next door’ vibes.
𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 | 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟔°,𝟏𝟖° 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞
Ummmm.. so it’s either you are the eldest child who grew up with so much responsibilities, or you have a mother that treated you like her favorite play toy and you were like a marionette in her hands.. you know those overachiever kids that once they finish school go to violin lessons and then go back home to study until they sleep, also have thousands of shiny medals around their room and little to no toy or teddy around? Yeah that’s you sir. Don’t try to be perfect for your parents, your achievements don’t determine your worth, nor does your status, nor does your roots, nor does your home in general!, please be kinder on yourself and enjoy life dear, also for my future mothers/fathers, be kinder on your kids.
𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 | 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟔°,𝟏𝟖° 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞.
1st scenario: be kind on your children for starters, now on a serious note try killing the Tonya Harding's inside of you before she kills you… why so serious about your hobbies that’s kinda concerning.. do you need help? Should i book for therapy?. you may be quite critical to your arts and hobbies, always try to master them until you drop dead on the ground with ink and paint on your fingers instead of blood.. sit tf down for a bit, take a deep breath and calm your shit down because no your rival won’t achieve a higher status than you in that art/theater competition, and you’re doing great, i know you may have siblings that made it hard for you to shine so you took the matters in your own hands but.. at what sake?, trust me it ain’t that worth it!.
2nd scenario: my brother in christ 5th house virgo no you won’t date an a-list celebrity if you dig around luxury places hard enough, try lowering your standards a bit because they may go beyond the sun and back (not even the moon if you noticed my not-so-hidden sarcasm) you’re making it hard on yourself and us (me specifically because you guys are so hot and i need 1 chance ffs)
𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 | 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟔°,𝟏𝟖° 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞
You’d really make a good doctor if you ever decided to be one because you’re almost too perfect for the job.. honest, faithful, and you have an amazing eye for details, almost hawk-like which makes you kinda manic (or critic) about your weight, eating habits, daily routines, health in general, and once you catch a mole on your neck you jump to ask google which may tell you that’s it’s a possible stage 4 cancer sign and yikes.. anxiety hits the fan.
no in case you are wondering, you won’t die in 3 weeks, so stop trying to have perfect health because i can assure you that it isn’t possible honey.. also your poor pets oh my god!, checking on them every month is a must.. but don’t make them visit a doctor every time they sneeze too!.
In conclusion you are a gym rat, quite critical of your workout habits and the gyms you go to, your diet, hygiene, of others and yours too.
𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐂 | 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟔°,𝟏𝟖° 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐂
Go above read virgo in 5th house second scenario!, it will describe you just perfect, but switch it and make it about your long term hubby. Just don’t be way too critical about your marriage, because you’ll be absolutely drained if you aimed to have a perfect lovey dovey life, that’s only in fairytales, that amazingness is only in romance novels, because marriage is way more than sweet endings, it’s about responsibilities, and I’m sure you’ll handle it well just don’t pressure yourself!.
Now, please cut your coworkers some slack, i know that they just can’t seem to do any decent work from your point of view, but put in mind that the work standards you have might 100% exceed what they are aspiring to do, so try not to be critical about your own work and others.
𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟓 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞!.

GOetry - Let's Rondel
Welcome to GOetry! A weekly poetry club.
Every Monday, you'll receive a new poetry prompt and have until the following Monday to submit your poetic creations. Come join the fun! Post your finished work under the #GOetry and don't forget to tag me @isiaiowin so I can see your work.
You can also add your work to the AO3 collection here.
Thank you for joining in writing sonnets last week! The incredible work you produced was amazing to read.
This week’s prompt:
Form: Rondel
Theme: Resist
A Rondel is a French form of poetry dating back to the 14th century. It consists of 13 lines arranged in three stanzas, typically two quatrains (four-line stanzas) followed by a quintet (five-line stanza), with repeated lines throughout the poem.
The rhyme scheme is: ABba / abAB / abbaA(B), where uppercase letters represent repeated lines.
A common variant, known as a Rondel Prime, adds a 14th line, turning the final quintet into a sestet.
If you'd like to write a Rondel Prime, simply add an extra line to the end!
Example:
Reflecting by: Lawrencealot
When desolation grabs your heart and forces tears
Let nature speak, reminding you not all is known.
When you, so young were taken to the funeral biers
my faith was shattered; all beliefs and hopes were thrown
away. I felt no comfort thinking heaven’s spheres
could somehow recompense for earthly love we’d grown.
When desolation grabs your heart and forces tears
Let nature speak reminding you not all is known.
I went to our lagoon, our waterfall appears
today to look like you, and hope renewed is sown
into my soul. We lived and loved! This thought coheres.
That truly shines. Remember we are just on loan.
When desolation grabs your heart and forces tears
Let nature speak reminding you not all is known.
But most of all have fun! 💚 Moon

In one of his writings, ibn Taymiyah included the following quote:
Ibn 'Abbaas said: Each good deed gives light to ones heart, brightness to one's face, strength to one's body, an increase to one's provision, and love into people's hearts. And each sin gives darkness to one's heart, dirtiness to one's face, weakness to one's body, decrease to one's provision, and enmity into people's hearts.

Allah calls Himself Al-Musta’aan— The One whose help is sought— on two occasions in the Quran. Al-Musta’aan is the one whose assistance and support are sought and in whom refuge is taken. Any help the creation provides to each other, is through His help alone!
The One sought for help
Musta’aan comes from the root ‘ayn-waaw-noon which points to two main meanings. The first main meaning is to seek or ask for help and assistance and the second is to aid, cooperate and help one another. A third meaning is to be middle-aged.
This root appears 11 times in the Quran in five derived forms. Examples of these forms are wa a’aanahu (“and helped him”), ta’aawanoo (“help one another”), nasta’eenu “(we ask for help”) and ‘awaanun (“middle-aged”).
Linguistically, isti’aanah refers to the concept of seeking help. It comes from the same root as nasta’een— we seek help— ta’aawun –help one another- and musta’aan – the one whose help is sought. Allah is Al-Musta’aan, which means that not only He is the Helper (An-Naseer), but He is the only one whose help first and foremost should be sought. He is the One who knows, sees, hears and controls all affairs and therefore His help is perfect at all times.
Al-Musta’aan Himself says: . . .And they brought upon his shirt false blood. [Jacob] said, Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting. And Allah is the one sought for help against that which you describe [Quran, 12:18] and . . . [The Prophet] has said, My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe. [Quran, 21:112].
The meaning of seeking help from Allah
In Islamic context, isti’aanah means to seek help from Allah ‘azza wa jall alone and it is an act of worship. In some circumstances seeking someone’s help other than Allah is considered as shirk and in certain circumstances it is not.
Firstly, in some issues you can only ask Allah and Allah alone and asking others in these circumstances is major shirk. Examples are asking others to seek blessings, provisions, removal of a disease or giving security.
Secondly, there are both worldly and religious matters that can be sought from the creation, however with certain conditions. An example is when you loose something and ask someone to help you look for it. Still you first turn to Allah and then ask the assistance of someone else in that matter.
The one sought for help needs to meet three conditions: they have to be alive, present and capable. We cannot ask the dead for help and we cannot ask those for help who are not present (the prophets could also not hear the calls for help from people who were not within their hearing). And we cannot seek that which others are not capable to give; like asking a shaykh to put you in Paradise, even if he is alive and you are with him. Only Allah ‘azza wa jall is capable of doing so, and asking someone else in this matter would be shirk.
How can you live by this name?
1.Say Allaahul Musta’aan. Each prayer you say: You alone do we worship, and You alone do we turn for help [Quran, 1:5] Do you really seek His help? Allaahul musta’aan is a beautiful statement you can find twice in the Quran.
In Surah Yuusuf, his sons clearly described something that had not taken place to Yaqoob; no wolf ate Yuusuf, but what could Yaqoob do? All he could do was turn to Allah and he said: Allaahul musta’aanu ‘alaa ma tasifoon – And Allah is the one sought for help against that which you describe. [Quran, 12:18] We can learn to use this dhikr when falsehood is presented as truth which causes you or others difficulty.
In surah Al-‘Anbiyaa the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam used this statement himself when disbelievers were disrespecting Allah: wa Rabbunar-Rahmaanul Musta’aan’alaa maa tasifoon– And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the One Whose help is sought against that which you describe [Quran, 21:112]
2. Seek Al-Musta’aan first and foremost. Ibn Abbaas radiyallahu ‘anhu said: One day, I was riding behind the Prophet when he said: O boy! I will instruct you in some matters. Protect the commandments of Allah, He will preserve you. Safeguard His Rights, He will be ever with you. If you seek help, seek help from Allah alone; and if you need assistance, supplicate to Allah Alone for help. And remember that if all the people gather to benefit you, they will not be able to benefit you except that which Allah had foreordained (for you); and if all of them gather to do harm to you, they will not be able to afflict you with anything other than that which Allah had pre-destined against you. The pens had been lifted and the ink had dried up. [At-Tirmidhee]
Focus less on people, don’t fear the effect of anyone’s decisions and know that even if people seem to benefit you, the true source is Al-Musta’aan. Even though you are permitted to seek help from others; it is crucial you first call on Al-Musta’aan to provide help and rely on Him alone and not on others. So next time you borrow money of a friend, or even ask a teacher to help you understanding a lesson, first ask Allah to help and guide you and He will provide His help, sometimes by means of other people or even objects or animals (think of the birds who destroyed the army of Abraha described in Surah Al-Feel)!
3.Help one another. Al-Musta’aan says: And co-operate all of you together upon piety and righteousness. Help you one another in righteousness and piety; but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is severe in punishment. [Quran, 5:2] Extend help in that which is good and halaal to others and never help others in doing that which Allah ‘azza wa jall forbade. For example helping someone to buy alcohol, commit zinaa, etc.
4. Limit yourself in asking others. Allah’s Messenger salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Who will guarantee me that he will not ask mankind for anything, and I will guarantee for him Paradise (in return)? So Thawban said, “I”, and he added, “And I would never ask anyone for anything.” [Abu Dawood] Even though in cases it is permissible to ask others, limiting yourself in seeking aid from others is a characteristic of the pious and takes courage and strength and truly reliance on Allah; the promise for those people is no less than Paradise. A dhikr you can use in this context is:
فَقُلْ حَسْبِي اللَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ Say: Allah is sufficient for me. None has the right to be worshiped but He, in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne [Quran, 9:129]. The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam used to say this seven times in the morning and evening. Revive this sunnah and live by it!
Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem
O Allah, Al-Musta’aan, we know that You are the only One whose help is sought. Make us of those who truly seek Your help first and foremost, beautify us with the feature of not asking others often and make us of those who help others in that which is good and encouraged by You, ameen!

🌷Du’aas at times of Calamity and Tribulations🌷
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) used to seek refuge with Allaah a great deal from trials and tribulations, and would say:
“Seek refuge with Allaah from trials and tribulations, both visible and hidden.” (Muslim).
We should know these duaas and use them to seek refuge in Allaah when we are tested. Some of these are:
🌷1) Ibn ‘Abbaas radhi Allaahu anhu
said that the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) said:
“My Lord came to me tonight in the most beautiful form…” and in this hadeeth he said that Allaah said,
“O Muhammad, when you pray, then say:
اللهم إني أسألك فعل الخيرات ، وترك المنكرات ، وحب المساكين ، وأن تغفر لي وترحمني وتتوب علي ، وإن أردت بعبادك فتنة فاقبضني
إليك غير مفتون
‘Allaahumma inni as’aluka fi’l al-khayraat wa tark al-munkaraat, wa hubb al-masaakeen, wa an taghfira lee wa tarhamanee wa tatooba ‘alayya. Wa in aradta bi ‘ibaadika fitnatan, faqbidnee ilayka ghayra maftoon’
“O Allaah, I ask You (to enable me) to do good deeds and avoid evil deeds, and to love the poor, and (I ask You) to forgive me, have mercy on me and accept my repentance. If You will that some trial should befall Your slaves, then take me to You [i.e., cause me to die] without having subjected to that trial).”
(Tirmidhi- saheeh by al-Albaani)
Additionally, at the end of the hadeeth, the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam said,
“Verily it is true so learn it and teach it.”“
🌷 2) Umm Salama radhi Allaahu anhaa said that the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) said:
“There is no Muslim who is afflicted with a calamity and says that which Allaah has enjoined...
“Innaa lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon. Allaahumma ajurni fi museebati wakhluf li khayran minha”
“Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allaah, reward me for my calamity and compensate me with something better than it”
but Allaah will COMPENSATE him with something BETTER than it.”(Muslim)
🌷3) Ibn ‘Abbaas radhi Allaahu anhu said that the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) used to say at times of distress:
لا إله إلا الله العظيم الحليم ، لا إله إلا الله رب العرش العظيم ، لا إله إلا الله رب السموات ورب الأرض ورب العرش الكريم
“Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah al-‘Azeem al-Haleem, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb al-‘Arsh al-‘azeem, la ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb ul-samawaati wa Rabb ul-ard wa Rabb ul-‘Arsh il-kareem”
“There is no god but Allaah, the All-Powerful, the Forbearing; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of the mighty Throne; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of heaven, Lord of earth, and Lord of the noble Throne.”
(al-Bukhaari, Muslim).
🌷 4) The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) said:
“Shall I not tell you of something that, if any worldly calamity or disaster befalls any man among you and he says these words, he will be relieved of it. (It is) the du’aa’ of Dhu’l-Noon:
لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين
“Laa ilaaha illa anta subhaanaka inni kuntu min al-zaalimeen
“None has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allaah), Glorified (and Exalted) be You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.”
According to another report:
“No Muslim man says this du’aa’ concerning anything but Allaah will answer his prayer.”
(Saheeh al-Jaami’ al-Sagheer wa Ziyaadatuhu)
🌷 5) The Messenger of Allaah sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“The du’aa’ of the person who is in distress is:
اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ
‘Allaahumma rahmataka arjoo fa laa takilni ilaa nafsi tarfat ‘ayn wa aslih li sha’ni kullahu laa ilaaha illa anta
“O Allaah, for Your mercy I hope, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye; rectify all my affairs. There is no god except You” (Abu Dawood - Hasan by al-Albaani)
🌷 6) If some matter was troubling him, he (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) would say,
Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoom bi rahmatika astagheeth
“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek Your help.”
(Saheeh al-Jaami’ al-Sagheer).
🌷 7) The Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) said to Asma’ bint ‘Umays radhi Allaahu anhaa:
“Shall I not teach you some words which you can say at times of distress and hardship?
‘Allaahu Allaahu rabbee laa ushriku bihi shay’an
(Allaah, Allaah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him).’”
(Abu Dawood -saheeh by al-Albaani)
🌷 8) The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“There is no-one who is afflicted by distress and grief, and says:
‘Allaahumma inni ‘abduka ibn ‘abdika ibn amatija naasyati bi yadika, maada fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka. As’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw ista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghayb ‘indaka an taj’al al-Qur’aana rabee’ qalbi wa noor sadri wa jalaa’ huzni wa dhihaab hammi’
“O Allaah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety),’ but Allaah will take away his distress and grief, and replace it with joy.”
He was asked: “O Messenger of Allaah, should we learn this?”
He said: “Of course; everyone who hears it should learn it.”
(Ahmad- saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah)
May Allaah protect us all. Ameen
And Allaah knows best.

Fasting on ‘Ashura (10th Of Muharram)
(In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful).
Introduction
We are in Muharram, the first month of the Hijri Calendar, 1445 A.H. It is a sacred month and the Prophet ﷺ used to fast a lot in this month. One of these days that the Prophet ﷺ used to fast is the Day of ‘Ashura (the 10th Day of Muharram).
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) so keen to make sure he fasted any day and preferring it over another except this day,the day of ‘Ashoora’, and this month – meaning Ramadaan.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2006.
Why did the Prophet ﷺ fast on ‘Ashura
Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madeenah and saw the Jews fasting on the day of ‘Ashoora’.
He said, “What is this?”
They said, “This is a good day, this is the day when Allaah saved the Children of Israel from their enemy and Moosa fasted on this day.”
He said, “We are closer to Moosa than you.” So he fasted on this day and told the people to fast.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2004)
Virtues for fasting on ‘Ashura
Fasting on ‘Ashura expiates the (minor) sins of the past year.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
Fasting the day of ‘Arafah I hope Allaah will expiate thereby for the year before it and the year after it, and fasting the day of ‘Ashoora’ I hope Allaah will expiate thereby for the year that came before it.
Narrated by Muslim, 1162
How to fast ‘Ashura
It is recommended when fasting ‘Ashura to also fast Taasua’ (the 9th Day of Muharram).
‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) fasted on the day of ‘Ashoora and told the people to fast, they said, “O Messenger of Allaah, this is a day that is venerated by the Jews and Christians.” The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Next year, if Allaah wills, we will fast on the ninth day.” But by the time the following year came, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had passed away.
Narrated by Muslim, 1134.
Important Note:
Fasting Taasua and ‘Ashura is recommended but not obligatory.
This year Taasua and ‘Ashura will be on Thursday 27th July and Friday 28th July, 2023.*
* Dates may vary based on local moonsighting.

Al-Imām Inn Al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:
"As for preferring the dunyā over the hereafter:
It is either as a result of corruption in īmān or corruption in the intellect.
And how much of these two there are!"

Al-Imam ibn Hajar (رَحِمَهُ الله) said:
"No authentic hadeeth that can be used as proof has been narrated about the virtue of the month of Rajab, it's fasting or standing up on a specific night in it (to pray). I have been preceded to this strong conclusion by Al-Imam Abu Ismaaeel Al-Harawiy Al-Haafidh."
