Mary can't quite decide if their fathers — heads bent together in one corner of the restaurant, talking about serious things, talking about boring things — are friends. She can't quite decide if this makes her and Otis friends.

Her spine is already starting to ache from sitting nicely; the mid-morning light catches the dust mites in the air, and 12-year-old Mary Dahl brushes them, invisible as they are, from her coat, chews her bottom lip as she makes up her mind on answering.

"Do you like yours?" she hisses back finally, resisting the urge to reach out and pinch him. Not nice.

He had been at the same school for a little while the year before — she'd seen him in the halls, recognised him from dinner parties and nights at her parents' side at the restaurant. He'd transferred out not long before Mary herself had switched to a private tutor.

"I don't have to like him." An uncomfortable prickling feeling, like she's made some humiliating mistake, creeps its way across her scalp. "He's my father. You're supposed to love them."

well.. ok. here's the thing:

once upon a time (many moons ago), i actually did assign Harry and James real life actors to get a better idea/handle of how i wanted to envision them. this was at a time where i was still making a lot of OCs and was using primarily PBs (aka PlayedBy's, or FC/FaceClaims for you young folk >:/ ) for their reference.

so i went actor a-hunting. now, it's pretty safe to say that the way i portray my boys do NOT align with how the actors look, but you can definitely see where inspiration comes from, LOL:

HARRY - JOSH CHARLES

(i'm a sucker for a man with a Nose™️)

and you can really see the resemblance in this much older art of GOOMT/my Harry from waaaayyy back in 2019, before I Fattened™️ Him (as well as just got a better handle on what he looked like, LOL)

as for James..... i really, REALLY love and keep this one close to my chest LOL, and i've spoken about my Big Brained Actor Assignment For James Sunderland before, but ohhh i'm always glad to bring it up again >:3c!!!

JAMES - EWAN MCGREGOR

now truth be told, my art of James never really reflected Ewan McGregor's look LOL. but GOD was he PERFECTLY JAMES in Doctor Sleep like. i lost my Mind, LOL

these days i would still shove Ewan McGregor into the role of GOOMT James, tho obv.. preferably the Younger Version of him. i honestly don't know who i'd cast these days; i really don't keep up with actors or anything anymore.

which means that the same has to be said for Harry. i definitely would Not cast Josh Charles as GOOMT Harry anymore, but i just don't know who's out there who would be a good replacement and/or match.

that said, i do have a PB for GOOMT Douglas (who also is just my Overall Douglas Portrayal) with some usual tweaks.. but hehe ;)

Hey i was wondering if help me little cuz I'm kinda lost

i want to use clip studio paint but i don't know if i need to buy pro or ex or if there is just a basic i can go with, I'm an Absolute newbie and i just make sure I'm doing this right.

any advice will help

you can check out what features are included in which version here!

pro is fine if you don't do a lot with multi-page work or long animations over 24 frames. it won't limit you if all you want to do is download some brushes and draw or paint.

ex comes with a couple extra bells and whistles, but unless you want those features specifically there's no need to spend extra for the ex version. pro will get the job done just fine.
