Hey, so I have been led to believe you made the On Our Fates Alight/the Dominant AU, and I was wondering if I could get in on that? I have a few possible characters that I could make for it.

Highlander Hyur/Roegaden to be named later: Eden Titan (a native from the First who wound up marooned on the Source, this guy took up adventuring to pay the bills and became a proud member of the Maelstrom, a fairly high ranking one too, getting a big fat promotion after impersonating the Source's version of Titan to try to neutralize the threat of the kobolds and their God. While not completely successful, he was able to reduce the threat level of Titan's devotees, who spend their time arguing over how many wheels Titan's Divine Chariot has, or if he even had said vehicle to begin with.)

Female Au Ra to be named later: Shinryu (Still working on the finer details for this one, but I do know she HATES the Empire and the Ascians, particularly Zenos for their "sacrilige," namely the events leading to to the Shinryu boss fight at the end of Stormblood. She's also slow to warm up around the Ala Mhigan Resistance thanks to how Ilberd summoned the Primal Shinryu, as if they wanted her help to free their homeland, all anyone who wasn't Ilberd, Laruntus, or Yuyuhase had to do was ask, and maybe bribe her with good seafood.)

So to start, the idea of a FFXIV-FFXVI AU does not exclusively belong to me. Many other people had the same idea, and probably much of the specifics are the same. So if you want to write out something that's a XIV-XVI merge, feel free to do so, you don't have to ask me for permission.

On Our Fates Alight is my version of the general XIV-XVI sandbox, so to speak. I can't speak for others who are doing the same, but I'm probably one of the few people that's still kicking around her ideas because I'm having fun (though XVI has been around for a while now). My friends, FC mates, and few mutuals wanted to get in on it as well, and generally the rule of thumb was 'okay if you're doing anything that loosely mentions my characters or specific ideas i ended up floating in a story', just let me know.

There's nothing formal, it's literally (and mostly has been me) banging out ideas whenever inspiration hits. Same for my friends/FC mates/mutuals.

So if you have ideas for your own version, go right on ahead and start writing them! What you come up with will probably be different than mine, and that's okay! As I said before, this was a general idea sandbox that a lot of different people got into.

Hoo, that was a beefy story patch. But overall, I'm giving Dawntrail MSQ 7/10. There is some stuff I wished SE would have gone harder on, but overall there's some very good bones with def meat on them for things, and this is the storyline's intro.

I had a feeling this was gonna be the Clean-Up List plus we still technically (as far as I heard) had four of the Convocation unaccounted for, plus Yoshi-P had made mention of this.

Calyx getting set up as a possible recurring villain who's properly peeved at us? GOOD. Mr. Normal there has the potential to do some major damage and we love to see it.

Us sticking around in Alexandria though has me thinking we might be pushing towards another Shard, possibly the Ninth proper.

I admit I'm extremely intrigued as well with actual Ancient magic starting to come into play. A primal is a primal, but I've held the theory that using the Ancient aspects of concepts means the motherfuckers hit harder, not to mention dealing with fights that nobody's probably ever even considered before. Necron being a goddamn primal that basically powered up every damn time you defeated it, plus feeding off all the levin energy that was in the area?

Actually, there is no violence in this because they're all max-height hyur 😂🤣 I made Reinhardt and Mathye that specifically because of their dragoon backgrounds, and it's a blank for Augustine and Sebastian xD
