Alright, but if y'all have watched Firebird, please don't come at me, ik I'm pinning all the blame on Roman and ik I'm wrong but fuck if I don't want to blame someone, I don't even know what to say, him marrying, him denying, him saying "Welcome Home" And then asking him to "act" When louisa comes, fuck fuck it's all so wrong, why society is so fucked up, I'm so frustrated

I understand why everyones so mad about five x lila (i dont like it either) BUT i do think the setup of it (lost in time with no one else to rely on, protecting eachother, ect) would probably make five fall in love with just about anyone. Just like, this is kind of what he always imagined having with deloras. So i dont fully agree with the wide consensus that its out of character for him to fuck his brothers wife (in this specific scenario)
That being said, he absolutely wouldnt give up on his family over it.

targaryen rot so ingrained in their brains that not fucking his younger sister is now seen as some kind of chivalric act....back in the good old days men used to have a side piece and a whole ass family with kids even if he loved his original wife dearly. baelon the brave thank u for bringing back the 80's....

I'm not sure how to put this exactly, but. In some episodes, we really get to see Stan show some qualities, we get to see why Dorothy still had some good times with him, and that makes the whole 38-year-marriage-turned-bitter-divorce worse to me. Because it means he had it in him to be a good person and a good husband all that time and he just didn't choose to be.

It's so wild to me how much hate poly gets but traditional mono culture is having "I'm ending my 22 year relationship because you were flirting with another woman." and "I'm had multiple sexual partners, and have been in multiple committed romantic relationships" as core identities And then instead of evaluating the culture around your relationships and your assumed expectations, you just blame the other gender!

The bingo card has me thinking about shipping with Henry. The few relationships he has before marriage (and possibly including his marriage, depending on portrayal) are all fine: mostly healthy, relatively normal, don't work out for fairly typical reasons. But most of all, they involve very likeminded people. Introverted, mostly playing it safe, etc. But the predominant thing that can drive him fucking wild is someone outside of that scope. I listed "thrilling" on the bingo, and that's sort of what I was getting at. Attractive person + thrill = a very infatuated Henry. Combine this with the person being a man—Henry doesn't (by default) explore his sexuality until after his marriage (either post-divorce or uh. before that.)—and you get an even more head-over-heels Henry. Henry isn't a huge risktaker (minus some exceptions regarding business), so somebody who is and encourages that within Henry can really light a fire under him. Volatile, quick-burning, passionate relationships (particularly if they're both sexual and romantic) can bring out an entirely different side of him. He is absolutely capable of getting into toxic dynamics—mutually, for the most part—and will not complain. Obviously a lot of this makes it really obvious why he's so prone to getting involved with William—he fits right into Henry's definition of "thrilling," no matter how reluctant he'd be to actual say that out loud. While we're at it (happy sinday lmao), this more than slightly extends to sex. This man has had nothing but vanilla sex prior to marriage and (again, by default) only explored beyond that some in his marriage. Anybody who is willing to explore his masochistic side and really explore kink can drive him up the wall.

“Edward would cheat on his wife” would EZIO cheat on HIS wife?! Would ARNO??!!
I know the game’s promos push this sort of “womaniser” vibe on him and while he probably had plenty of one night stands, he is the type to cry after and think about wifey.

"Prostitution is the world's oldest profession..." and "The "i" in lie" are great songs because they both talk about the same thing -- selling yourself out in the music industry-- from two different viewpoints
#essentially what i mean is that gabe is getting PAID to sell himself out by the very people that hate him for selling himself out#while patrick is cheating on the music he wants to make with the music that he knows will do well commercially#<- which btw is not what soul punk is. and honestly soul punk is the OPPOSITE of selling out#which i could make a whole post on but to sum it up soul punk is exactly what it sounds like. its full of soul and is a kind-off fuck you to#people who think pop music is easy to make/only needs a computer to do and not require an ACTUAL human to make the music itself#but in the i in lie patrick tells the story of a man cheating on his wife even though he KNOWS ITS WRONG AND FEELS GUILTY OVER IT#he knows selling himself out to the music industry is wrong. he doesnt like doing it and would much rather be making music he wants to make#but he keeps selling himself out because its the money and fame of it all. '...in the silent aftermath/butterflies subsiding but they can#never look back'#he keeps selling himself out to this industry because it feels good but only for a short while#and so he lies to fans and to himself that he wants this.#but for gabe he understands that the music industry is well an industry#and so to stay on the top you have do 'dirty' things#and that thing will be selling out#and he doesnt think its bad! he thinks its a revolution actually!#he thinks its the only way to 'humor the fools' who could be the people that consume the music (not the fans)#he literally states he doesnt care what people think of him for selling himself out and that the ones that are hating ARE THE ONES THAT ARE#PAYING FOR HIM TO SELL OUT#just. ugh. these two songs are doing something to me today

'this is a goddamn bitch of an unsatisfactory situation' sounds like the kind of exaggerated, colorful complaint that I associate with like, modern-day internet humor, but when hear see it in context it's completely different. jack's voice is breaking, he's holding back tears. the pain in his delivery of that line is starkly audible. this is at the end of nearly two decades of seeing ennis only a few times a year, and just hearing that ennis has to cancel their next meeting. he's at the end of his rope, and he's ready to break down. as much attention as "I wish I knew how to quit you" got, I think this is the line that stays with me for the sheer emotion in its delivery

What is going onnnn
#logged onto fb today as you do when you enjoy wasting your time#and uh. my brother changed his profile picture. and my other brother LIKED IT#THESE MEN DO NOT KNOW EACH OTHER. the first brother; i have known he existed my entire life#he is my dad’s son from his second marriage. i am from his fourth. which is fine#the second brother; i found out he existed in july#dna website told me he was my uncle but i was like ‘that literally cannot physically be possible’#my dad’s parents were well into their fifties in 1966 and my mom’s parents would not have had a son in 1966 and adopted him out#like what would have been the point. my uncle was already born then and my mom was born a year later#if they’d had a child between those two they simply would’ve kept him#also i looked up this man and was like ‘he looks exactly like my dad in the face’ so that was when i was like. i think i know what happened#here. i think my dad aged 23 cheated on his second wife and did not know that this fling produced a child#so yeah i’ve communicated with my second brother. but i guess he decided to go looking for further answers and added my first brother#which i completely understand because i am a useless person tbh. i’m bad at communicating and i don’t have a lot of information for anybody#like my first brother had our dad for 39 years. i had him for 11. i also don’t have the easiest time talking about him because it was a#traumatic loss for me. so.#like i said i don’t know what they’re talking about if anything. i don’t know if my first brother even knows who this man is. he accepted#the friend request? but that doesn’t mean a lot. maybe they found each other on a different dna site#that would be really funny actually#i hope they’re getting along. i mean they probably are. they’re the same age and actually have some similar interests weirdly#i mean one is into heavy metal and the other is into historical reenactments but they both like dogs and fantasy novels#my dad’s dna must have so much fucking information in it. it was literally like ‘okay all of this man’s descendants are going to be 6’+#even the women; with dark hair; dark eyes; round faces; and they are going to spend all their downtime reading books and drinking tea#and have an inexplicable knack for training dogs’#it’s WEIRD. it’s so fucking weird that he had four kids and the two he didn’t even raise STILL fit into this mould#personal
