Based on a true story from Thanksgiving

I am sitting in for Thanksgiving night dinner at exactly at eight a loud ping comes in when I receive a text from a former friend of mine who recently apologized to me for some actions and I reluctantly forgave him the biggest mistake of my lives since that whole family is full of assholes

He jokes to me I am like a dry turkey then he goes on bashing me with way too many more food scenarios as a joke so I am really not in the mood the next day to deal with him or anybody on my first red carpet event let alone his parents.

His father who I see is completely dressed to the nines for the first time he usually is a mess walking the red carpet with his hand waving at me as I roll my eyes and offer my hand to shake but instead I wake up from my day dream.

I sigh a bit later in the bathroom after the ending of the premiere he blocks me in the bathroom placing his hand on my shoulder as I realize it is him then think for a second I have my chance.

He wants to take a selfie with me but I get a bit giddy letting him set up the flash I say to him I’ll do it but the light start to flicker and I am annoyed but move on asking him if he could see into the frame.

He stares deep into the light as the lights of flash blind him on and off leaving me with perfect excuse to put him under by using the camera to take a picture of him I begin to play with his mind.

He freezes on command at a stance unable to move except to blink allowing me some time to formulate a plan so wicked I might lose myself in it but I carefully concoct until the minute his eyes pop open.

He comes to life stretching his hands in the air, yawning so loud it would scare the ghost of the hand any and never noticing me I do stop and play with his hair but he does not even react.

“You can’t seem me, you hear my voice the voice of reason.”

“You did not treat your son’s friend Lawrence right you have to pay the piper.”

“No need to speak, their is only one think you can do.”

“You need to pay for your issues”

“You can start by being his slave “

His eldest son Robbie is in hell seeing his old man doing something so out of character as he stands on stage looking like a damn ass fool and doing as his ex pal say like in a Hypnosis show.

Unfortunately for him the music starts to hit playing a beat he cannot stop it raises into the threshold of the roof he starts to do a very stupid dance consuming him loosing it in into a stream of insanity.

“Join us Robbie follow everything your father does.”

“Oh Master! How can I please you?”“Hope Everyone! Pay Attention Please” I say to the crowd.

“Meet my pal Jon! He is a asshole”

Colton is the younger one grinding his ass on the floor as my debut single for the movie is burrowing deep into their brains nothing can stop it now as I am subliminally in his head reprogramming him in everything way and manner possible.

tolkien (a studied linguist) and me (has taken their fair share of linguistic classes) staring at each other after the narrator casually drops that the hobbits just 'forgot' their languages and simply adopted the common speech as if that is a normal thing that happens out of the blue and isn't connected to at best cultural assimilation and at worst colonialism, imperialism, and oppression

I'm sure Minkowski never forgot that Cutter was the first person ever to call her Commander. After recruiting her in Once in A Lifetime, he starts to call her Lieutenant, then breaks into laughter, before correcting himself: "What am I saying? Commander Minkowski." He draws attention to himself granting that title, stressing its significance. By initially calling her by a lower ranking, then conspicuously correcting himself, Cutter emphasises that he's the one granting her that title. Right at the beginning of Minkowski's employment with Goddard Futuristics, Cutter plants the seed for his line in the finale: "People cared about you because of what I made you: A soldier. A leader. A commander. I gave you that, and now? I taketh away."

And he does take it away. Cutter makes a point of calling her Commander in that first meeting, but he hardly ever calls Minkowski Commander after that. He almost always calls her Renée. He makes the point in that first interaction that he has the authority to grant her that title, and then in every subsequent interaction he tries to make the point that she doesn't have command over him. Having called her Commander once makes every time he doesn't call her by her title seem more deliberate. It's not that he never uses titles - it's that he uses them selectively. He gives her a taste of that sense of authority, but he doesn't want her to feel worthy of it.

In the liveshow, he cuts her off by shouting "I AM SPEAKING, LIEUTENANT!". Minkowski is the Commander of the Hephaestus in official terms at this point and Cutter even refers to her as "a mission commander" later in the same episode. So there is a deliberate malice to Cutter calling Minkowski Lieutenant here. Not only does it emphasise the use of authority structures as a means for control and the abandonment of first-name-basis false friendliness, calling her by another title makes his choice not to call her Commander even more explicit, denying her that authority.

Apart from when he recruits her, the only other time I can think of when Cutter directly calls Minkowski Commander is in Ep60, when he lays out his offer to let Minkowski leave on the Sol: "How does that sound to you, Commander?" Again, calling her Commander is a kind of power play, an attempt at manipulation, highlighting the sense of responsibility that motivates so many of Minkowski's actions. Cutter is prompting her to ask the question she would be asking herself anyway: what choice would a good Commander make? Just as he did when he recruited her, Cutter offers Minkowski something she desperately wants, and the use of her title here only draws attention to the idea that Cutter is the one with the power, choosing what to give her.

not to be black on main, but i don't think racism and/or right-wing 'leanings' are minor inconsequential things worth ignoring in the name of Working Class Solidarity™. like this isn't so much about luigi and whatever he (allegedly) did as it is about the response from (alleged) leftists. unlike many of you making posts like that, i live in the real world (while black). and in the real world, the politics of SO many americans start and stop with hating non-white (or specifically black) people, wherever they personally fall on the class ladder. this is why millions of poor and working class white americans will happily cut off their nose to spite their face if it means millions of nonwhite americans (of Any social class or income) are kept in 'their place'. this is a Big reason why reconstruction failed and the southern strategy succeeded. so, no, it's not something i can afford to look past for the Greater Good, actually. whole time, y'all are talking around it like it's a mild inconvenience, a teeny-tiny bump on the road towards some utopic class unity or whatever, as if racism isn't Fully Baked into politics isn't Fully Baked into classism in the U S of A. once y'all figure that out, something (like fixing this bullshit healthcare system) might actually get done lol

I wish the legion civilian territories weren’t cut cause while it would not make them less deplorable on any aspect, a bit part of FNV is also the people that support the heads of the factions you can side with.

Like we see characters that sympathize with the legion or have seen how their territories are actually relatively peaceful due to how much control the legion exudes. Having whole towns point out “Hey this is like def a dictatorship but like we are kinda taken care of.” And how ideologies can easily be adopted or ignored IF the people with them still provide for their people. It’s why there’s still towns that hate the legion but also don’t want to be controlled by the NCR. Or legionaries that acknowledge the brutality of the legion but don’t leave.

An underlying theme is people simply wanting their basic needs met. So why is it not believeable that people would follow an objectively bad system if it does that?

I do want to scream into the void that like. Malik is absolutely not feminine in any way that was intented by the author. Yes that is the most cocksucking shirt ever drawn but shut up. (absolute overshare) you guys wanna know something funny. my step mom growing up was like.... supposedlyyyyyy a teacher for at risk youths. like fuckin... for kids who were real fucked up, maybe they killed someone maybe they were abused all that stuff, she was vague abt it for confidentiality. but like she was supposedly that kind of teacher. she became a 'hypnotherapist' later when she became my stepmom. maybe helped other neurodivergent kids during that i dont really remember.

and uh. her method of helping kids? uh. hm. whats the best example i can think of... telling my mother to drive away to force us to feel abandoned so we'd go back to their house for sure (she did not)

but like. she decided to present a letter at my parents divorce hearing (post runaway) all about what horrible children we all were. like. describing in excruciating detail how selfish and undisciplined and cruel we all were. calling me out specifically (as usual) for being the abusive ring leader bully. just cuz she was miserable she got w a man w no prospects. but it was my fault yknow?

why'd she do that? we didnt even fucking live w her anymore. it wasnt even about us it was about the divorce. so thats like. bruh. you cant just trust that people who are supposed to help kids will. get your fucking mind right we were babies. why dont you go look at the real problem in the house cuz it wasnt the fucking CHILDREN.

anyway the judge took one look at that letter and threw it out like HELLO? MAAM? WHATS UR FUCKING PROBLEM?? AND YOUR JOB WAS HELPING KIDS???
