It’s about the food right. As per usual. We know that food is family/connection in 911 and its been a centerpiece in both Eddie and Buck not just finding but making a family together with Chris.
In 617 Buck made a meal for Natalia but we don’t see them actually sit and eat it. We only see the before and after. It’s implied in that scene that the dinner conversation was all about Buck’s past relationships. Appropriate for a meal with a death doula. Buck is laying the old version of himself to rest. It’s under the guise of putting Natalia at ease but it’s really Buck ensuring that that part of his life is over for himself. He’s done putting all of his energy into frivolous relationships and ones that only meet another person’s needs/expectations to the exclusion of his own. He’s getting/ready to nourish himself and his loved ones.
As we suspected, his relationship with Natalia was all about ushering him into his future. It didn’t go the way he expected, ie starting something with Natalia, but it did show that he’s learned to cook/make a family. One big concern is the problem of Connor and Kameron. They are roping him into their life and overstepping appropriate boundaries in the situation. Kameron helped herself to a meal that wasn’t made for her and Buck offered Connor a beer in a previous episode but Buck didn’t partake in a beer himself. That dynamic reflects the difference in Buck’s relationship with each of them. Connor is a friend from way back that Buck did a favor for and Kameron is Connor’s wife who Buck doesn’t actually really know.
Buck has learned to make his own family but he’s still tied up in other people’s needs/expectations/drama. He has to decide once and for all what he wants for himself. He needs to consciously decide who he’s cooking for and make sure that the meal nourishes him too. We’ve seen Buck make, serve, eat, snack, and chill with the Diazes. We’ve seen Buck’s progression over time with feeding Eddie and Chris. He moved from pizza to a 118 potluck where he brought store-bought cookies to Bobby’s lasagna to making cookies and steak with Chris and now to Buck’s original recipe complete with a wine pairing. I’m sure I missed some things but my point is that Buck is cooking and creating nourishment for his family. That family is most consistently Eddie and Chris, especially in season 6. Like Thomas said in Buck Actually, you don’t find it, you make it. Buck’s making it now, and he’s struggling to decide/choose who he’s making it for/with. Eddie and Chris are right under his nose! He’s just got to see them!! Sorry this is kinda stream of consciousness but you get it right??

For those who said that the end of Buck/Tommy came out of nowhere, color-coded Buck & Tommy’s First & Last Dates. See? Foreshadowing. Parallels. Mirroring.
Sorry it’s not neater. I’m better at analysis.
First Date (color coded transcript below cut)
https://tvshowtranscripts.ourboard.org/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=68587
Notice Buck's "keeping our options open, I like it"? They aren't committed.
Notice that Tommy says the 118 was "a regressive place under Gerrard" That's unspecific, considering he was a bully. And he insists, I'm not lying about who I am" but he also doesn't mention a 2 year engagement to a woman (which is a lie of omission).
Eddie and Marisol are a foil for Buck and Tommy. Eddie has just asked Marisol to move in. After their last date, Buck asks Tommy to move in.
Eddie mentions closets in his own house. And Tommy nudges at Buck.
And then they're back at the "so many choices" (indecision), foreshadowing. And it Eddie turns out to not want Marisol's armoire/closet after all., because he's going to choose JOY!
Last Date Before Breakup (color coded transcript below cut)
https://tvshowtranscripts.ourboard.org/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=71583
Notice that Buck doesn't know specifically what a Kinsey
6 means. (which does NOT mean he's never heard of Kinsey). And Tommy's answer is, "I'm gay," which doesn't clarify the number, does it?
Notice that, on the first date, Tommy assures Buck that nobody's looking? And on the last, they are?
Notice the way the waiter asks, "What's the damage?" This whole date is a disaster. Tommy's insulted both Abby (crazy but great hair?) and Buck (himbo).
Notice the divorce mediator's words about "dissolution of a marriage" and trying to make it less painful? Editing lets scenes reference each other. And this provides foreshadowing for the split at the end of the episode.
Reading is FUNdamental. Or fundaMENTAL. Fandom!
(Obviously, I did this for myself, but I do like comments.)

Having A LOT of feelings over the temporality of ladders and Buck and the whole time metaphor because it’s been there since season 1 - the universe is screaming at all of us!!!
#because ladders are a temporary device to help you get somewhere for a short period of time - they are not a permenant solution#so buck climbing all these ladders and having run ins with the ladder truck specifically#(because it was the engine that was a refuge for buck and chris during the tsunami)#is really interesting - he keeps using these temporary fixes - rather than the more permenant option of the stairs#this has been going on since season 1 - he used the ladder truck for his hook ups not the engine#I might have to write a whole meta on buck and the ladder truck and time and quick/ temporary fixes when I’m not at work!!#911 spoilers#911 on fox#911 fox#911onfox#evan buckley#buck versus the ladder truck

DPxDC When a Bird Hits Your Window
Written for: Whumptober, prompt 6. NOT REALISING THEY'RE INJURED Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms | Healed Wrong | "It's not my blood."
He wakes up to a loud sound of breaking glass.
Yet, his first instinct - turn intangible and sink down through both the bed and the floor - is cut off shortly by a quiet, painful groan that follows it.
Danny blinks a few times, adjusting to the darkness in the room, and slowly sits up on the bed, listening in carefully. Someone broke into his kitchen through the window, that much he figured, but who, and, more importantly, why?
The groan turns into a moan, then something softer - a sob? a whimper? - and then there's some kind of shuffling. Danny hears the broken glass screeching over the tile floors.
Like someone is crawling over it.
Okay, definitely not a robber, then. Or, maybe it is, but a really unlucky one.
Danny stands up from his bed, phasing through the blanket in order to make as little noise as possible, and quietly makes his way through the hallway and to the kitchen door. Thankfully, he left it open in the evening, so peeking in is fairly easy-
He barely holds himself from gasping.
The thought of calling someone - police, 911, ambulance - is still only forming in his head, when his body is already moving forward. Danny kneels in front of the body on the floor, not sure what to do or where to start.
That is... a vigilante. An injured vigilante on his kitchen floor, lying face down, a hundred glass shards scattered around him. It looks almost pretty - the shards reflect the moonlight from the window, making the shadows look even darker than they are.
Danny pays no attention to the twisted beauty of it, instead biting his cheek from the inside and carefully touching the vigilante's shoulder. The guy flinches from the touch, shifts in his place, and raises his head up to look at Danny.
"Who-" he starts, his breaths quick and shallow, but the question is cut off by a pained wince. Now that Danny can see his face - sans the eyes because of the mask, yes - he notices that the guy is barely older than him.
And, now that he thinks about it, he's rather pretty.
Wrong thought, very wrong, entirely not fitting the situation. He needs to get his shit together.
"Come on, up you go," Danny mutters and leans forward, grabbing the vigilante by his armpits and raising him up. A dark, almost black puddle is left on the tiles where the guy landed.
"I'm not-" he starts protesting, and Danny suddenly remembers his name as he throws the guy's arm over his shoulder and all but drags him from the kitchen to the couch in the living room. Red Robin.
"Yes, you are," Danny cuts him off, not bothering with waiting for the end of that sentence. Red Robin whimpers. It's a sad, hurt sound, and Danny, unfortunately, knows it intimately - he's made it himself a lot of times before he metaphorically hung up his cape.
"I need to go," the vigilante insists as Danny unloads him on the couch and steps to the side to turn on the lamp on the table. And, when he looks back to Red Robin's chest, he barely holds back a curse.
"Unless you plan on going to a hospital, you don't," he argues, and, in two wide steps, reaches the shelf where he keeps the first aid. The zipper doesn't budge, and Danny bites his lower lip, throwing a quick glance to Red Robin. To hell with it, the guy is clearly too out of it to notice. Besides, it's not like being a meta - even if technically he is not - is a crime.
It's just a little intangibility to get the gauze.
"I don't need a hospital," Red argues back very confidently and tries to stand from the couch. Only he sways on his feet and almost falls, and Danny rushes back to him, catching his shoulder and sitting the vigilante back down.
"Really?" He asks, trying not to sound too sarcastic. That's how he deals with panic, sue him. "What about the blood?"
Red Robin blinks, staring at him owlishly. Is he concussed? He probably is, shit, he crashed through Danny's window at full speed. But before he can ask or say anything else, the vigilante looks down to his own chest.
Right to where it is currently covered in blood, with glass chards sticking out of his hero uniform, and a bloody fucking stab wound on his stomach. Danny distantly thinks about his ruined couch.
"It's not my blood," the guy tells him, not batting an eye. Danny holds back the urge to slap him, instead just taking a deep breath and leaning down to look Red Robin straight in the eyes. Lenses of his mask. Whatever.
"Okay, listen here. I didn't plan on saving anyone today, I actually didn't plan on saving anyone in any foreseeable future. So if you want me to throw you back out the window, I can arrange that in, like, less than ten seconds. Do you want to go back out the window?"
...and, maybe, he should have thought about the consequences better before he started his attempt at intimidation. Because, instead of saying anything, Red Robin leans in forward and boops him on the nose. With his own nose.
"Boop," he tells Danny quietly, with a lopsided, dorky grin on his lips.
And then, uncaring for the sheer bafflement he caused, he drops his head on the back of the couch, his whole body slumping down. Danny hastily checks his pulse and breathing, but, no, the guy is still alive. Just unconscious.
"I'll take that as a no, then," he sighs and finally gets to work on the vigilante's wounds.
He decidedly does not acknowledge how his cheeks feel like they are on fire.

Buddie 614 meta
What I find to be the loudest about Eddie’s arc here is that the whole ep is meant to show us everything that can go wrong when people try to live up to others’ expectations, and how much better it is when people are looking in and figuring out what’s right for them, which means they’re performing for and as themselves. That’s the context for Eddie’s date and story. He needs to figure out how to want a romantic relationship again without feeling like it’s a task he’s performing just to please others. That’s the place he gets to at the end of the ep, which is a good place for him to be. ~~
And this is essential to Eddie. Based on how little people talk about it, maybe many in fandom aren’t aware of how 911 implied back in 217 that he only married Shannon because she got pregnant. Eddie said explicitly he didn’t think he was ready to get married at the time, and he brought this up in the context of Shannon and him having Christopher. So I think it’s very meaningful that here, when his aunt wants to set him up, he jumps straight to the (wrong) conclusion that he’s expected to marry Vanessa. He was under this pressure to perform for others before, he knows how disastrous it can turn out, and you know what? Trauma totally triggers this kind of reaction. It tells us where he’s at emotionally, that there are still things he has to deal with. ~~
Speaking of trauma, another symptom of it can be denial, and we do see a bit of it from Eddie during this ep. Remember how he claimed he doesn’t panic back in 501? Right to a doctor’s face while she’s diagnosing him with panic attacks? He did it again in this ep. The thing is that healing isn’t linear. He was advancing with some things, but in 614, faced with his aunt’s ambush, he feels cornered back into a place he’s been in before, a place that left its scars on him, and Eddie regresses. Which is okay! But that’s one step back in order to take two steps forward. Before the ep ends, he will figure out that it’s better not closing himself off completely to the idea of getting into another relationship, even if Tia Pepa’s surprise blind dates are not the way to go about it. ~~
As a side note, I loved Bobby basically trying to trick his subordinates into giving him a review, and poor Buck stepping right into that one. I saw it coming and I almost choked laughing. This show is damn brilliant with comedy, too. We don’t give it enough credit for that! But it's also a moment when I was really proud of Buck. If Eddie's panic caused him to take a step back, we got to see his husband, who grew up so unloved that he needs every bit of approval he can get, being mature and able to point it out when Bobby was over-praising him in his evaluation. And you know what's more? Bobby knew it would go like this. He has seen Buck's growth and he knew his surrogate son would do the right thing and correct this. Bobby's set up wouldn't have worked otherwise. Excuse me while I get emotional over this. ~~
Fitting for an ep where 911 flexed its comical muscles, it was embarrassing how hard I laughed at Buck’s reaction to Eddie’s romantic woes. Remember when Buck heavily implied how hurtful it was to be ghosted by Abby, saying in 502 that he had been in Ana’s position, of being unwanted and led on instead of getting a clean break up? Well, look at how quick Buck was to suggest ghosting as a viable option for Eddie this time! It’s almost like Buck doesn’t even notice that he will offer whatever it takes to keep his husband away from these potential Love Interests, even if it contradicts stuff he has said in the past himself. The way Buck could be so calm making this suggestion, and take the “threat” in stride, because duh, he knows his husband wouldn’t want these LIs intruding on their marriage and family either, and it’s absolutely legit to just ghost this girl if she doesn’t get the memo, was hilarious. And honestly, who can blame Buck? He’s defending his hot man. ;p ~~
Which brings me to my weekly gif set, that I dedicated this time to Buck pointing out on Eddie’s failure to let Ana down easy. I mean, it already IS canon that these two talk about everything, it IS canon that Buck is someone who gets to hear all about Eddie’s romantic woes. But this proves that Eddie doesn’t just fill him in using broad strokes, stuff like just letting Buck know that he indeed broke up with Ana. No, they get down to the finer resolution as well, and Buck gets to hear every detail about how Eddie did it with the delicacy of a bull in a china shop. And clearly, Buck wasn’t about respecting either Ana or Eddie’s pain during that break up, at least not enough to stop Buck from teasing his husband about it. XD It’s so funny how naturally Buck’s staking his claim on his husband even while they’re discussing going on dates. I see you, Buck, and am totally with you! ~~
One last “made me laugh” point. I’m tempted to snicker about Pepa telling Eddie he should be shopping for antiques. I’m queer, so please excuse my dumb queer humor, but ummm. That’s not a very straight suggestion for your nephew, Tia. Or maybe that’s deliberate, maybe it’s implied she is trying to set up Eddie with anyone, girls or guys? After all, she did use gender neutral language during this ep... So we can’t know for sure, but something tells me Pepa just wants Eddie to officially have someone, and if she learns that Buck actually IS her nephew’s other half? (I can’t call either of these morons ‘better half’, sorry) Then she’d be the first one to throw them a party! And I love that, and I love her. Because after all, she’s not just a sassy queen, she’s not just incredibly loving and caring with her nephew, she was also willing to sacrifice her own image in his eyes, she was willing to be seen as herself, and not as what he expects, in order to help remind him that even if his first marriage failed miserably, he can find the courage, move on and re-commit himself to someone else. And soon maybe Eddie will realize and Pepa will find out who is that someone else that Eddie can have a beautiful committed r/s with...

I find so much of the anti-Tommy stuff impractical. I don't have a big problem with Tommy and Buck breaking up as long as it's in service of Buck's story. I don't love the fact that mlm characters get shacked up on a dime rather than dating around. But Lou brings out a nice shade to Oliver's acting, and the characters are fun together. Like... have we forgotten to have fun without ship goggles?!
On a meta level a quick BuckTommy break up serves no one. Buck and Tommy not lasting into the season 8 or only for a couple episodes would feel to the general audience like the execs giving in to homophobic backlash and backtracking on Buck’s bisexuality. Narratively they should (and will) explore the relationship as it pans out over an entire season and if it ends after that it will actually feel like its own arc on par with Aly or Abby or Taylor and that’s important when it’s his first relationship with a man. It should be given the same weight as his previous LTRs with women or it will feel cheap and like they only did it for the accolades and not to further Buck’s character. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t really stop and think about the wider implications of Tommy just being dropped off the face of 911 because they hate him and want him gone for daring to kiss Buck.

a quick gripe that i might delete later
people are so serious about a show that has some of the silliest writing i've witnessed. like. "i had to put my foot down" me: literally bc you stomped that guy's face
this is about 911. y'all are so serious about the silliest tv show. how meta was it that they're giving advice for a fake show when i keep getting tiktoks and youtube shorts of real paramedics doing the same thing. y'all. please. find some joy in your life.

Superboys Part Two Excerpt : Sunwing
Warning!
[Do not take anything from this excerpt as an example of a smart idea. I would not ever advise for someone to depend on their martial arts lessons take down someone threatening them with a gun. It's not smart, and it's very potentially deadly.]
«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»
Chris and Dick fly through the city on their grapples. Chris has a tendency to float a bit, but quickly learns that he needs to keep tension in his line. It's just like the waterslides – more fun without flying. Chris half wonders if he should have some Blue Kryptonite on, but dashes those thoughts when he tries to imagine seeing the city through dulled senses.
He hears a gunshot and a woman calling for help, so he tells Dick and they head off in the direction of the gunshot and find a woman in an alley standing over a bleeding, unconscious man.
"Are you hurt?" asks Dick. "Can you call an ambulance? We can call for you if you need."
"Yes, please call for help," says the woman. "It's Nightwing, isn't it?"
"Well, that seems to be up for debate," says Dick, and he calls 911 for an ambulance.
"What happened?" asks Chris.
"The motherfucker pulled a gun on me," says the woman, "and I ain't no victim, you know. I used everything I learned from my Krav Maga classes to disarm him and slam his head into the curb."
"We were worried someone got shot," says Chris. "Good job defending yourself. Most people don't put the effort into learning how."
"Yeah well, this is Gotham. You gotta know that stuff. So who are you? You're like a better Nightwing. At least your costume is better."
"You really think so? I like it. Nightwing had it made for me, but we're still arguing over who gets to keep the name. We're both Nightwing."
"Small world, huh. Well you could be Sunwing in this costume. I don't know what you… wait a minute… are you Champion's bodyguard? That Nightwing?"
"Yeah, but don't tell anyone. Batman doesn't like metas in Gotham."
"Well if you're going for fooling the bat, something cheesy you wouldn't choose as your own name might work. At least if he knows you well enough."
"I'll keep it in mind," says Chris. "Sunwing isn't horrible. But I wouldn't want go by anything other than my name, so maybe Batman won't realize it's me. Thanks, uh…"
"Clarice. Clarice Henderson. Nice to meet you, Mister Zod."
"It's Lor-Zod," says Chris. "Mister Zod was my father."
"I thought it was 'General'," says the woman smartly.
"You pay attention to interplanetary politics?" asks Chris, suddenly finding the woman more interesting.
"You kidding? Our moon just got turned into an alien planet! Who wouldn't pay attention? Bunch of meatheads, I guess. I hope you like Earth, Mister Zod.
"I love it here."
Around that time the ambulances and a police car approach and Dick gets off the phone. He pulls on Chris' arm. "Time to skedaddle! Have a great night, Ma'am."
"Okay, you too, Nightwings!"
The duo go on to stop four muggings and a car theft before being stopped by the Dark Knight.
"Who's the copycat?" asks Batman.
"You know your own protége," says Chris.
"I meant you," growls the Bat. "Lor-Zod, I take it?"
"How'd you figure it out so quick?" asks Chris.
"I recognize your voice. What are you doing parading around in that?"
"I had it made for him," says Dick. "You don't like it?"
"Why did you put him in that?" asks Bruce. "Are you hazing him?"
"No! He just– well I couldn't take him around as a Bat if he's going all super and you hate metas, so I thought—"
"—I don't hate metas, I just prefer to be in charge of the vigilantes in my city and metas can be somewhat destructive. No offense, Lor-Zod but Kon-El, in his first six months, caused more collateral damage than all my Robins put together. Not counting the Red Hood's actions of course."
"Of course," says Chris, "Because it's always easy to contrast the two when you ignore their common ground. Tell me, how much collateral damage has Jon-El racked up? Or Kol-El? I'm pretty sure Kon-El's first six months were a difficult time, what with going through untreated PTSD and having no family, mentors or peers facing the same issues. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that his destructiveness was a product of specific factors and not because he's a meta."
"But he was capable of accidentally causing so much destruction because of his super strength and invulnerability."
"I guess most six-month-olds can't bench press small buildings. Either way, I'm kind of insulted you think I'm going to wreak havoc just because I'm Kryptonian."
"It's a general rule, not an absolutism. Wonder Woman has similar abilities and I'm not saying she's destructive. I am saying I prefer to keep things my way in my city. I don't go to Smallville and break Ma Kent's rules and I don't go to New Krypton and break their rules either. If you wanted to patrol with Nightwing, Lor-Zod, all you had to do was tell me."
"Really?" says Dick.
"Really," says Batman.
"I want to patrol with Nightwing," says Chris.
"Good," says Batman. "Of course we'll have to make sure you're really you, you'll have to be vetted for brainwashing, mind-control and pods and you'll have to be washed for lice."
"B!! You're embarrassing me in front of my friend!" whines Dick.
Batman continues, "And of course, once that's done, we'll have to take samples so we have your real DNA and hair on file—"
"—We already have that on file!" says Dick.
"And before you can patrol in Gotham, you have to be trained in various safety methods and your signature modes of transport. I noticed your grappling was a little rocky. You'll have to have a permit while a licensed grappler teaches you."
"That has literally never been a thing!" says Dick.
"And if you're going to be galavanting around with my son at night in skin tight suits, there's a slideshow I think you both need to see."
"I've heard the horror stories," says Chris. "We aren't doing that. Even if we were, I'm not watching the goddamn slideshow, but Nightwing and I are just friends."
"All the same, you must complete all of the safety orientations," says Batman.
"B!! Why are you trolling us?" asks Dick. "Just let me have some fun patrolling with Lor tonight."
"Very well, why don't you two take Lor-Zod to get changed before you finish your patrol?" says Batman, "People say I'm terrifying, but they haven't seen the horrors of gaudy yellow fingerstripes. I can't unsee it."
"You're only saying that because you know I designed it, aren't you?" says Dick.
"Absolutely," says Batman, "Enjoy your night," and Batman disappears into the shadows of the alley.
"Well, I can't enjoy my night wearing this now," says Chris. "He totally ruined this awesome costume for me."
"Does that mean we're saying bye to Sunwing?" asks Dick.
"Bye-bye, Sunwing," says Chris.

Okay. It’s probably just brainrot but I think there’s even more evidence of Eddie battling his queerness plus catholic guilt plus comphet something via his relationship with Marisol specifically, in combo with his Muay Thai sparring sessions with Tommy.
In 705 Eddie talks about Marisol moving in with him and she says “You’re just going to have to make room. You want me, you get my armoire too.” Then Eddie says “Guess you can never have enough closet space”. We’ve all discussed Tommy’s comment to Buck following that interaction between Eddie and Marisol but *taps mic* let’s look at Eddie too!
Quick etymology lesson courtesy of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary website:
Marisol’s character is symbolic of the war or battle that Eddie’s fighting too, not just the Tommy mirror of it all, but it matters that his conversation with Marisol was in front of Buck and Tommy’s salad. Armoires are nice but heavy pieces of storage furniture (often passed down within families). So Marisol’s not a direct weapon in this war Eddie has no idea he’s fighting with himself but she is definitely a manifestation of the messages, expectations, societal pressures that have dominated his life up to this point. She’s a storehouse of those issues, especially since she used to be a nun. And he’s at odds with all that in ways he hasn’t really explored. Remember in the final scene when he decided she needs to move out he refused to even look in the boxes she had in the living room!
Ultimately Eddie’s battle is with himself (symbolized through sparring with Tommy as his mirror) but Marisol isn’t completely uninvolved in the fight. Her character is a representation of the psychological baggage Eddie’s trying to identify and figure out how to navigate. She’s the decorative closet storage piece holding all the heavy stuff he’s finally becoming aware he needs to deal with but at a careful pace and preferably at a manageable distance (as is his way lol).
He managed to get some initial perspective on his inner/emotional life in general via his healing and therapy arc, but at the start of 705 he invited angst and confusion back into his house by asking Marisol to move in! When he slowed things down and asked her to leave his house at the end of the episode, he showed growth by giving himself the space he needs to sort himself out on his own terms. Not ignoring the armoire and all it contains but also not wholeheartedly returning to old patterns and making her breakfast either!
This season is gonna keep being friggin interesting. He’s gotta sort through his issues and his feelings with an eye toward their origins. I think it’s gonna be EPIC watching the pieces slot into place for him!
NOTE: I’m talking about Marisol’s character as she illuminates aspects of Eddie’s journey. I hate talking about women characters as props for men’s character development 🤮 But that’s what 911 gave us 😒 and no one who’s been paying attention thinks that Marisol is gonna last ❤️ She ain’t endgame and there’s meta to be written!! 🤓
704 includes several mentions of The Fight, the big unification bout in Vegas, and Muay Thai sparring. I don’t think that’s just for the dudebro vibes (tho that’s definitely a factor this season). When it comes to Eddie’s journey as presented in that epic episode, I think all the full-contact combat/sports references are doing subtextual work to narrate Eddie’s queerness and where he’s at this season.
Eddie doesn’t really consciously engage with his queerness at this point in the story but via Tommy as his mirror and all the sports references, I think it’s safe to say that Eddie is at odds with his queerness but he doesn’t fully realize that’s what it is and/or that it’s something he’s been battling on some level his whole life. A few things in the ep point in that direction:
Buck: How was the fight?
Eddie: Fight was okay. Seats were amazing. Tommy’s buddies with the promoter, so we were ringside. Felt like I was the one throwing the punches.
The sense I get is that Eddie is witnessing a fight inside himself but he’s not aware that he’s an active participant in said fight. That makes sense to me given his tremendous ability to compartmentalize and ‘be in control’. Like. The fight is happening but he has it walled off and isn’t consciously connected to it. His queerness is present and with him (aka Tommy with him at the fight + “watching half naked men pummel each other”) but he doesn’t recognize it for what it is quite yet.
A unification bout, according to Wikipedia because I know *nothing* about sports, is the bringing together of titles held by different fighters. Eddie going to the fight with Tommy seems to me like Eddie needing to discover an aspect of himself that Tommy that he has in common with him!
Then there’s all the Muay Thai references. Eddie says it’s been a long time since he met someone that can go toe to toe with him when sparring. Eddie’s fighting for his life against his queerness y’all. It’s not an actual match which is good but still I think the point stands. He’s at odds with a part of himself that’s trying to emerge victorious and express itself. But between Catholic guilt, family expectations, the hypermasculine culture of the military, and overall heteronormative comphet culture Eddie hasn’t been able to see/engage/accept his queerness.
I think this all feeds into to the scene where Buck comes out in 705 and Eddie expresses surprise about Tommy being gay but not Buck being bisexual. Buck has always worn his heart on his sleeve so it makes sense that when he figured out his bisexuality he would share that part of himself with others. Eddie is King of Repression, Reservation, and Control so it makes sense that he wouldn’t quite know HOW to do that for himself yet. Tommy’s character is a needed mirror for Eddie to see what’s possible for himself (all of himself) whereas Tommy was a needed vehicle for the actual expression of Buck’s queerness at this moment in the story. Tommy is doing so much friggin work in the narrative lol!
Lastly, I think Eddie’s own queerness is still a mystery to him and something that he’s sparring with on some level because he’s NOT allosexual! Now’s a good time for me to say loudly that I’m on Team Demisexual/Demiromantic Eddie. It fits with the data we have about his character and it’s still subject to the heteronormativity and comphet we’ve all seen affecting Eddie.
Eddie has expressed little interest in anyone of any gender who he hasn’t had a baby with, viewed as a mother-figure to Chris, or expected the universe to hand-deliver as if by magic. He has not intrinsic motivation toward sexual or romantic relationships until/unless he has a meaningful emotional connection to the person. He described himself as a nester and so far the only person we’ve actually seen him nest with in canon is Buck!!
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that season 7 has shown Buck and Eddie coparenting Chris and sharing their feelings with each other. It’s also meaningful that Eddie, Buck, and Tommy are all talking about Chris at various points and in various ways. Plus Buck thought he had to fight Tommy for Chris’ affection (and Tommy eventually tells Buck that’s not true). Chris has narratively been a metaphor for Eddie’s heart many times before. Buck is the one in the nest holding Eddie’s heart and both Buck and Eddie are gonna figure that out. They gotta or imma start throwin’ stuff!!
Anyway this meta got a little longer than I initially thought it would but I had to get this outta my head.
TLDR: Tommy’s epic mirror status for Eddie runs deep and so does his role as catalyst for both Buck and Eddie. He’s a bridge to Buddie *fingers crossed* Basically Eddie’s in the fight of his life trying to sort out his wants, needs, and identity when it comes to intimate relationships. Buck’s a little ahead of Eddie in the process but Eddie’s on his way!
(P.S. Buck is bi and I will die on the Eddie is demi hill. I’ll accept repressed gay Eddie with open arms but honestly I think demi fits what we’ve seen for Eddie way better.)

can’t believe I’m here to talk about Eddie and Ana but...oh boy. okay.
(aka it’s time for my annual unnecessarily long meta post about the Buddie of it all but really it’s about how I think the writers backed themselves into a corner)
so, I was working on a gifset yesterday and in the process I ended up rewatching some s4 scenes. then today I went on the 911 subreddit (do not recommend) and I saw a comment saying how they felt the breakup seemed abrupt and out of nowhere, and it had me scratching my head because to me it wasn’t, like at all.
I think I mentioned this in a previous post at some point, but imho the writing was on the wall for them since at least the end of S4. I don’t know if the relationship was ever meant to last, that’s something only the people working on the show can say for sure, but it certainly wasn’t a “oh no what are we gonna do in s5? think quick, guys......Eddie and Ana breakup, yeah, good idea” kind of situation.
Because 4x14 made choices, that are just. hm. They do not scream “this relationship is gonna last” to me. But not in the way they did it with Bathena, were there was an obvious conflict and it’s this whole dramatic omg is their relationship gonna survive this thing. It was the fact that Ana had literally 10 seconds of screen time in the entire episode and did not have a single line of dialogue. And it was in direct contrast with Bathena, and Buck’s presence. The show has a recurring trend of paralleling Buddie scenes with romantic relationships instead of platonic ones, and it does this here too, by literally cutting from Athena at Bobby’s hospital bedside to Buck at Eddie’s bedside. Not Ana. Y’know, his girlfriend, who supposedly spent a significant amount of time in he hospital, waiting for him to wake up. Not.a.single.line.of.dialogue.
There was also the awkward math date scene, if you want to go back even further, and a general sense of awkwardness and stiltedness that prevailed months into the relationship. It took Carla like 5 minutes of being in the same room with them to see right through that and tell Eddie to make sure he’s following his own heart, not Christopher’s. Overall their relationship was just never really properly developed. You’d think if they planned on having Ana stick around long term, they would have put more effort into writing the relationship, and developing Ana as her own character. They did neither of those things. So S5, to me, just feels like a logical continuation and conclusion to that.
And now that we’ve got that out the way, I would like to take a moment to talk about how, in my opinion, the writers backed themselves into a corner, whether intentionally or not. See here’s the other thing about the breakup. Eddie was (initially) panicking at the idea of this “ready made family” with Ana. They could have easily spun that as ‘Eddie’s just not ready to move on from Shannon’, have them break up, the panic attacks stop, and that’s the end of that. Did they do that? No. They’ve made it clear that Eddie’s panic was part of a larger mental health struggle that, really, has very little to do with Ana. That relationship might have been the inciting incident that started his unraveling, but it goes way beyond that.
Now, people can (and will) argue all day about whether or not Buddie is gonna become canon. I’m not gonna do that, because a) only the writers/showrunners actually know (and, hell they might not even know at this point), so it’s always just going to be speculation and b) I’ll be fine either way. But. Here is why I think they wrote themselves into a corner: 9-1-1 isn’t the kind of show that is conceptualized and planned out from beginning to end before they even start shooting. It’s more of a figure it out as we go along and hope we get renewed for another season type of deal. Personally, I’m of the opinion that not every character needs to be in a relationship (in fact, one of the things I appreciated about the ending of Community was that they didn’t feel the need to pair everyone of), but shows like 9-1-1 tend to do that. And a next season is never guaranteed with 100% certainty. So they had the prime opportunity to set this up for Eddie, with Ana. I mean, Eddie himself tells us how perfect she is on paper. Call me crazy, but I do think they actually had some chemistry early on. It was a little awkward, sure, but they could have worked with that. I’ve definitely seen canon ships with less chemistry. But then they just made choice after choice to completely undermine whatever possibilities were there. So, now what? Ana’s gone, they sunk that ship. And I know no one likes to think about this, but the show’s not gonna go on forever. Every season brings it a little closer to the end, so if they don’t want to suddenly put Eddie in a relationship very last minute just for the sake of it, they need to take the time to develop a new romantic interest. And they don’t know how much time they’ve got. So why “waste” Ana?
*drumroll*
The Buddie of it all.
That’s the thing that drives me bonkers sometimes, is that it’s going to be incredibly difficult, if not impossible, for any new romantic interest to get even close to what Buck and Eddie have. Ryan and Oliver have great chemistry together, regardless of how you interpret the relationship, and that’s hard to replace/reproduce. It’s just one of those things where you either have it, or you don’t. Part of this is also just time. Their relationship has been built up over the course of years. To give a potential RI they bring in now the same kind of treatment, the show would have to go on for another 3-4 seasons, at least. Which again, is not guaranteed. It could happen, but it also could not. Bit of a gamble. Ana had been around as a character for a bit before they started dating, so she probably had a better chance with this than anyone new they introduce. But nope. Same thing with Taylor. Old recurring character put into relationship with main character. Sound familiar? Except, with Taylor they’ve actually tried a little bit to develop her, with the whole storyline about her father and all that, but it’s very obvious at this point that this relationship is not working, and it’s not going to last (much longer). Side note, I’m not a big fan of Taylor, but I actually didn’t mind her as much before. I think she worked as a character that just showed up occasionally, and her and Buck as friends (or frenemies, even) could have been an interesting dynamic, but oh well. Anyways, them breaking up is going to put Buck in the same spot as Eddie, as far as romantic prospects in the bigger picture sense go.
So whether or not the writers intended to end up here I can’t say, but here we are regardless. Are they just gonna keep introducing random women, hoping that they’ll find one that works before the show ends? Who knows, maybe. But they have something really good already right there. Something irreplaceable, one might even say. I really, truly, just don’t see how any new relationship they introduce is ever going to live up to that, even if Buddie never becomes canon.
(also I don’t want to say all the other main pairings are within the main cast, aside from Henren bc they were already established, but....they are. make of that what you will)

Welp, I just wrote this whole long meta on the 911 crossover that Tumblr decided to eat the minute I went to post it so I’m just going to throw this short ineloquent post (sorry) about it out quick.
I always wondered why they picked Marjan to be with Eddie (and not Paul or Judd or Matteo or even TK or Owen) and then it hit me:
Buck: “I know who that is! She’s Firefox. Firefox? You guys seriously don’t know who Firefox is? She’s gone viral like five times. Total badass.”
Buck who we have seen and heard of being on the news in LA more than once: 1x02, 1x10, 3x16, etc. He’s not seeking coverage or media attention but it happens. Who himself is a badass in his own right.
Then we have the whole Insta-off scene:
“How can you be so calm under literal fire?” “Well, at least no one’s shooting at us.” -> “We do the same thing. I’ve just done it while people are shooting at me is all.” (2x01)
“Seriously? You wanna follow me on Insta?” “Heard you put a lot of effort into it. Just curious.” (he wouldn’t have been curious had Buck not mentioned it)
“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” “I haven’t been on social media in a while. The last post is like nine months old. Super boring.” “I’ll be the judge of that.” “Fine. Deal.” (Marjan wants to follow Eddie back on Insta, but she didn’t follow Buck back after Buck followed her)
“Is this your kid?” “Yeah, that’s Christopher. He’s my world. Doing the whole, you know, single dad thing.” -> “Whoa, you got a kid?” “Christopher. He’s seven.” *shows Buck a picture on his phone* “And super adorable. I, uh, I love kids.” “I love this one. I’m all he’s got. His mother isn’t in the picture.” (2x02)
“You did not build him a skateboard.” “Well, Buck helped.” (notice this phrasing, Marjan is mentioning him and he mentions Buck, it’s true, Buck did help, but if he’s looking for his teasing/flirting to go anywhere, he could have left Buck’s name out of it & he could have mentioned this after Marjan asks about Buck when seeing him on Eddie’s Insta as a way to explain his inclusion in the post)
“Wait, is that that creepy guy who was staring at me before?” “He’s harmless. Mostly.” (Buck comes up not once but twice in the conversation) -> kicker: “And for the love of God, follow Buck back on Insta.” (this isn’t just to tease Buck or to help a buddy out, it’s also paralleling to what Eddie says to her before this line) “Hey Marwani, I was hoping I could get a pic for Insta.” “I thought you were off social media.” “Yeah, well, it’s not every day you get to take a selfie with #Firefox.” (Buck is on his Insta, now Marjan is -> parallel)
Another parallel: “Oh, now that is just way too much pretty!” (Buck and Eddie are always the young hot firefighters hit on or considered to be the single hot guys to set people’s daughters up on dates with)
Then you have Buck and TK:
“Hey, if you ever find yourself in LA, we should get together.” “Thanks. Gotta mention, though, I have a boyfriend and it’s pretty serious so uh... But it was really nice meeting you, man. Take care.” *Eddie walks into frame as TK leaves and winds up next to Buck*
they have the whole competition thing that he also has with Eddie in 2x01 though with less hostility (because TK isn’t threatening anything)
Buck mentions the bus in the fifth floor of a building; Eddie mentions the Prius in between two buildings when looking at Marjan’s Insta
TK sees the car coming and saves Buck; they then work together to get Clyde (who they think is the driver) out of the burning vehicle; Clyde accidentally knocked off the emergency parking brake -> Eddie sees the round is live in Charlie’s leg and tells the driver to pull the ambulance over; they then work together to get the live round out of Charlie’s leg; Charlie accidentally shot himself when cleaning a weapon (2x01)
TK throws Buck the tool to break the glass; Eddie is always handing Buck a tool when they arrive on scene in LA
“Nice move, by the way. Good reflexes.” “Yeah, you too.” -> “Good call.” ; “You’re badass under pressure, brother.” “Me?” “Hell yeah, you could have my back any day.” “Or you know, you could have mine.” “Deal.” (2x01)
Then you have flirty!Eddie with Marjan (the person he’s allowed to openly be flirty and teasing with) during the Insta-off scene:
Then you have Eddie’s expression when Buck mentions Marjan didn’t follow him back on Insta:
Then you have the command tent scene where the framing is interesting. Eddie is closest to TK and Buck is adjacent to him:
youtube
And then you have Buck bringing TK pizza. Pizza which is a prop that has been used with Eddie a few times, from Shannon to Buck:
Marjan was absolutely meant to parallel to Buck. So if she had Buck-like qualities, then TK...
Just sayin’
Bonus:
“Hey Buck. You really put yourself out there. I can’t thank you enough.” -> followed by TK mistakenly assuming Buck is hitting on him which Buck does not get to correct him, followed by Eddie appearing in the frame.
Uh huh.

Just a quick costume question. Don’t worry if you’re too busy with. Is time metas but thought you might know of top of your head.
Do the lafd hoodies/jumpers really have the names on them like the turnout coats do it it is that just a fan thing in fics.
Trying to get something right in a fic I’m writing. Tried to spot in an episode but no luck yet!
Thanks 💕
Hey!!!
I always have time to answer costume questions from you - and tbh its actually nice to get a break from the meta which is refusing to get out of my brain and onto the computer 😂
As far as I am aware (and I have spent far far too long staring at 911 uniforms recently so I'd be happy saying I was 99% sure) they don't have any identifying details - no names or even initials - its purely a fic thing thats developed! It makes sense if you think about it - in normal uniforms its easy to identify who is who, but as soon as the turnouts and helmets go on it becomes much harder - hence the names being put on the bottom of the jackets!
Hope this helps and I can't wait to read the fic!

Buddie 604 meta
I feel like I deserve a medal for not making a joke about how, since it was implied in 401 that Eddie stayed at Buck’s during the pandemic, we know at some point Buck will have two ex-roommates who want his body fluids. XD ~~
It’s maybe a small thing, but I enjoyed seeing Ramon advise Eddie on his issue with Chris. It was a lovely callback to their promise in 517 to work on improving their relationship, and it also showed really nice insights from Ramon. I loved it! It’s a nice reminder that 911 for the most part doesn’t vilify people, even when it doesn’t shy away from their faults and failures. It’s also proof this is a show that doesn’t drop things once a storyline seems to have wrapped. I adore that about 911, and I also think it makes every single meaningful thing we’ve witnessed even more significant, because we know the show will return to it sooner or later. Like maybe certain scenes between a couple of firefighters? Maybe... ~~
Buck and Eddie exchanging a meaningful look over seeing this oblivious moron in love at the scene of the ep’s first call is giving me life. The wordless communication, the implied sass, the way they’re so in sync, the irony of them being exactly like him except less aware of their own feelings even if they are more aware of propriety. They’re not even teamed up together, because Chim needs Eddie’s medic experience as long as Hen’s still captain, and yet... Buddie are our hopeless romantic idiot kings, while 911 could give entire courses on how to showcase soulmates in less than a minute. ~~
A continuation of that can also be seen in another call. When Buck recklessly hops on the bike to chase and stop a car by almost getting himself killed in order to save Chim, right away we have Eddie calling out after him. He’s so exasperated with his work husband, he’s not even yelling in order to stop Buck, Eddie’s resigned to his husband’s ways. But a good husband still has to shake his head, much like we saw Eddie doing when Buck boldly insisted on the rope rescue in 316. It’s a part of their love language. ~~
All of that stands in contrast with the rest of the ep, where we don’t get to see Buck and Eddie being their usual self, meaning iconic life partners. The thing is, absence can be loud, and something that really makes this absence stand out rather than fly under the radar is contrast. In other words, we’re meant to notice the absence. That loudness is even amplified with the only scene in this ep where we have Buddie interacting in connection to their personal life. Even though they don’t actually get to consult each other, as they usually do, there’s a lot of intimacy there! For starters, Eddie’s surprised that Buck isn’t weighing in on the new issue with Chris.
This is so uncharacteristic, and we only need to think of the way Buck jumped right in with his objections about summer camp in 318 to see the difference. Eddie also believes that there are things Chris may tell Buck but not him. This man is shown throughout this ep having trouble letting go as his son is growing up to be his own person, and yet the one exception Eddie takes no exception to (sorry, bad pun, I know) is Chris filling Buck in on how he’s really doing. Eddie actually expects that to be the case. It’s a subtle, but oh so real acknowledgement that Buck is Christopher’s other dad and that the two of them have a bond that is not limited to the relationship either one of them has with Eddie. I love it. And lastly, of course Eddie can tell something’s up with Buck, troubling him. But it’s also obvious that Buck’s not ready to talk about it yet, with his quick denial of “no secrets here,” so Eddie, like the good husband that he is, lets him be.
Them suddenly dealing with their personal lives separately very much reminds me of basically the mood of most of season 5a. Buck was kept busy with Taylor and away from Eddie, who ended up struggling with how to be a good parent to Chris without the help of his biggest support, his life partner. It led to Eddie making a rash decision that we all knew he would have to find a way back from. If that’s not enough to make us realize Buck’s decision at the end of this ep is probably the wrong one, we also have him being drunk while getting drunk advice from Hen. The last time that happened (and only other one we saw on screen)? When Buck spiraled in 511 over Eddie leaving, and did something rash and foolish.
I tend to think that’s what we’re going to see with Buck now as well. I already was of the opinion that it doesn’t fit Buck as a person, he just cares too much to be the guy who can walk away. His history with Daniel might influence him to wanna help, do for these parents what he couldn’t for his own, but if he does recognize that connection, could he really help bring a new “Daniel” into this world and then... never have anything to do with that kid? But what makes me even more convinced that this decision will be reversed is the build up, showing Buck coming to this conclusion without consulting the one person he actually already shares his life (and a kid) with, and the way it parallels that storytelling structure we saw in s5. In addition, even the way he verbalized it makes me think this is meant to be seen as the wrong decision. Buck is on this journey to figure himself out, yet at the end of the day his decision to say yes isn’t about himself at all, it’s about Connor and his wife. This is who Buck has always been, the guy putting others ahead of himself. There’s nothing wrong with his big heart and generosity! But in an ep called “Animal Instincts,” this has always been he’s instinct. Now he’s meant to learn to balance it with looking after himself and his own happiness, too. So I might be wrong, but I don’t see it ending here. Taylor was a r/s Buck had to have in order for him to learn how to be the one who leaves, now Connor came to him with this request, and we’re gonna get to see him learning to say no. And just like Buck was a part of Eddie finding his way back during season 5b from his wrong decision, that temporary distance between them leaving them closer than ever, so I expect Buck’s sperm donor arc to be resolved with Eddie’s support and with the two of them getting even closer.

After Dark (We see the light)
Buddie Meta 911 503
Hello friends. Okay I told you this is gonna be a short meta bc we had just a little from Buddie at the end but it was very, very rich in visuals and body language.
Whispers: I just dissected the lockers buddie scene... 😏🔥
Just a few words about the kidnapping
I know we don't wanna talk about this ¡I don't wanna talk about this) but it was the main topic in this episode so I need to say a few words...
First of all, it was a very ugly and boring and weird way to show us this "storyline" as they described in the promo.
But let's rescue some interesting points:
-Another good neighbor helping by recording with her cellphone what was happening with Harry and his raptor. Again, neighbors saving lives just like they did in episode 502.
- Another hint to the idea that "no one is safe".
- Harry's kidnapping as a Foreshadow of Eddie being hostage in 507.
- The whole episode and the whole kidnapping process happened in the darkness. (Visual symbolism as I pointed in my previous meta here.)
- When Athena confronts Jeffrey she also makes a reference to darkness and light, and the firefam appeared illuminating the place. This is a reference about how the family they choose, the people they love, it's always there to support you and help you in bad moments too.
- When the woman asks Michael if Athena was his wife, he answers "Ex-wife", as a premonition of Eddiana break up at the end of the episode.
- The 118 unity assists a 911 call in which a man said his friend had been shot. This was a blatant reference to 413 and 414. The difference was the brachial artery.
- When the firefam goes to find Harry, we had a brief Buddie moment, again working together.
- Harry doesn't want to talk about his traumatic experience. (I talked about this in the previous metas with two characters with talking difficulties, as a Foreshadow for Harry.
- Maddie and her depression is taking relevance now that she thinks she is dangerous for her daughter. Imagine the pain she is handling thinking about this? I can't even...
The Light is Here
Time for some Buddie meta now.
First scene: the Lockers.
Buck sees Eddie coming out and smiles. This smile could mean a lot of things. But because this is a buddie meta, that smile is from someone that didn't expect find his crush still there. A nice surprise to see him again. Even when they were so many days together, you always celebrate the fact that you can have a little more of your crush, right?
Buck says he thought Eddie would be the first leaving because he had a little person waiting for him: Christopher.
The important thing here was the way Buck is talking to Eddie.
Look at him. He is smiling the whole time, eyes focused on Eddie. It reminded me that time in the kitchen. The fondness and the devotion towards Eddie are loud here. The longing, even when Buck implies "Hey Christopher is waiting for you, someone is waiting for you, that's awesome" it felt as is he wished he had that too.
But the smile, the soft gaze and even the voice he uses, is screaming Buck's yearn for Eddie.
Then we had Eddie avoiding Buck's gaze again.
Eddie had been thinking the way to break up with Ana. The seriousness in his face told us he had been thinking about it a lot. But even when he tried to find the word, he couldn't. He only stares at Buck to deliver a strong message.
When he mentions the name of Ana, sending Buck the idea of him breaking up right now, once he gets home.
The hidden message to Buck here is "Look, I'm following your advice, okay? I'm breaking up with her. I don't love her. And is happening now."
Then Eddie leaves and Buck's reaction is... priceless...
Buck is speechless. He can't believe it. First of all, because Eddie is following his advice. Eddie is not like Abby. Eddie is breaking up with her to release her. Eddie is honest. But then, he blinks nervously. Eddie breaking up with Ana means Eddie will be single again.
Remember season 4 opens with Buck saying "I don't tell people how I feel", who was these people? Well, his parents and Eddie. He even bought a book "5 languages of love" to learn how to express his feelings for Eddie. But Eddie started to date Ana, and every hint of being with him vanished. And that's why the sarcastic "What's Ana love language?" Full of Jealousy.
Now, Eddie is gonna be single again. And you can't tell me that reaction from Buck watching Eddie leave is not expressing exactly this: HOPE.
Even Athen mentions HOPE IN THE DARK in this episode.
Second scene: Honey, I'm Home
Suddenly, when the black out ends, we witnesses a continuum of parallels with people coming back home and family waiting for them. The first one is Hen, in video-call with her son. The kid is waiting for her after 5 days.
Then Athena's kids. Then Eddie having breakfast with Christopher and Ana...
And then we have Buck. And the contrast is HUGE. The writers made it blatant to show us BUCK IS ALONE. Even when he's dating Taylor, he is alone. Because Taylor is married with her job, and again, Buck is put to a side.
The irony in Buck's quote: "Honey, I'm home." Is representing his loneliness. His girlfriend is not what Buck wants for him. Buck wants to be seen (just like Norman) he wants to have what that old married gay couple had THAT'S LOVE. Buck wants his own beautiful love story. He wants a person who waits for him at home. That's why the yearn in his voice while he was talking with Eddie in the lockers. Maybe because he was imagining what wonderful would be to come back home together with Eddie and Christopher waiting for them.
This is the preamble to Buck/Taylor future break up. As I wrote in this spec post here.
So, Eddie already has the family he wants with Buck, but he doesn't know it yet, and Buck wants to have a lover who sees him for real. That person is Eddie, but he's not his lover, but his best friend. Well, not his lover yet.
Third scene: "I guess is your mess now."
Okay, we finally are in the Eddiana break up. I really felt sorry for her. Really. She was nervous at first, we can say it because her body language and the verbiage. Her body moved from side to side, trying to clean up the mess in the kitchen.
She knew what was going on. So she was the one saying it first. Eddie just added some few words about Christopher loving her, but the girl knew everything. That's why the talk was quick. There were no more words to say. She chose Spanish to say goodbye to him, because it was one of the things that they had in common, like a mechanism of defense. Then she says he is a great father. This is very important, because she knows Eddie was trying hard to fall in love with her because of Christopher.
But what caught my attention was Ana saying: "I guess it's your mess now" talking about the kitchen, but symbolizing the huge mess that will be Eddie from now on. And the mess is in the kitchen. The place in which Eddie and Buck flirted. The place in which Eddie looked at Buck so fondly as he interacted with Christopher.
That kitchen yells buddie. And it's a mess now. Because what is about to come my friends, is Eddie slowly realizing he is in love with Buck. Let's wait an see.
To Conclude:
Several storylines on the horizon, as the producers said. So we had Harry handling his post kidnapping trauma, maybe not talking about it.
Maddie and Chim story, with Maddie's depression and the seek of Maddie.
Buck's inner desire of being seen vs his relationship with a absent girlfriend.
Eddie rediscovering his sexuality through the realization of his own romantic feelings for Eddie, maybe will be expressed by a lot of Jealousy towards Taylor and some little fights over there. And Buck completely oblivious about Eddie's feelings.
