Thank you for the tags @artsyunderstudy @youarenevertooold @cutestkilla @brilla-brilla-estrellita @larkral @forabeatofadrum and @confused-bi-queer y'all got me up and writing. For those of you following along with IKABIKAM, I am shooting for the 26th for the next installment. Since last chapter's flashbacks were angst city, I thought it's time the boys from the past get to have just some fun. So, here is the beginning draft of the Baz POV flashback!

Wellbelove received Just Dance 2 for Christmas and—with the help of Snow—is making it everyone else’s problem. Usually Bunce aids and abets Snow’s whirlwind intensity, but she seems to be taking the day off, curled up in a nearby chair with her nose stuck in a book. To her credit, Wellbelove keeps pace. Which is to say, she’s beating Snow within a centimeter of his life.

At rehearsal last night we majorly reworked a couple dance numbers and now I need to find some poses with rhythmic movement to do during one bit and I'm up on the balcony which has a railing so I have made the executive decision to steal from Hey Big Spender.

#adventures in community theatre #I am so emphatically Not A Dancer #I like it! I'm just not good at it.#I wish I was!#but like the entirety of my dance training outside of this show was doing Anything Goes my sophomore year of high school #(which was all tap)#and two weeks of Dance For The Stage at arts camp later that same year #and I guess the musical I was in back in 8th grade counts for something too #I didn't do ballet or anything as a kid #(I did gymnastics and was terrible at it)#(How bad can a 5-7 year old be you might ask? VERY.)#(there is a reason most gymnasts are short. and even as a child I was tall with a high center of gravity and an anxiety disorder.)#ANYWAY #I'm now on the balcony for uh...wait am I on the balcony for every dance I'm in???#I mean I was joking last night that My Job Is Just Balcony but uh #wait no there's two I'm on the main stage for #although that might change tomorrow night idk #is this a transparent excuse to repeatedly watch the Lincoln Center performance with Bebe? MAYBE SO.#look it has Been A Week

question for americans (or generally anybody who went to public high school in a westernized country)

do 9th 10th and 11th grades students have any dances where they're able to attend outside of the prom (which they're only allowed to go to if a 12th grade student asks them out) like a winter or halloween dance etc as some primary and middle schools have. NOT being asked by older students but generally jsut a school-wide dance or celebration?

#never got that far into high school so idk what the deal is there..... if not i would just go w/ 8th grade dance #but if possible is there any reason a 10th or 11th grader might go to a high school dance outside of being asked by an older student??#are younger students ALLOWED to go to the prom regardless. what is up with that #txt

OKAY BUT I JUST WENT TO MY (middle) SCHOOL DANCE AND IT WAS ACTUALLY FUN

LIKE THERE WASNT A DANCE CIRCLE OR ANYTHING BUT IT WAS SO FUN

(almost)EVERYONE DRESSED UP AND I MYSELF FELT VERY PRETTY

THERE WERE A COUPLE SLOW DANCES WHERE SOME COUPLES DANCED AND SOME FRIENDS DANCED

AND THEY PLAYED THE MACERANA

AND I HUNG OUT WITH MY FRIENDS ALL NIGHT

AND THE TEACHER WHO HELPED SET IT ALL UP DANCED TOO FOR LIKE 30 SECONDS BUT STILL

i’m so proud. i thought it was going to be so awkward but it was amazinggg! i can’t wait to go to another dance in the future becausee if this is a middle school dance? high school has some big shoes to fill

It’s better if you never have to experience it, but there’s nothing quite like the glee of dressing in ways you know that authority figures from your youth would be disgusted or at the very least disappointed by.

Part of me doesn’t want to see my middle school teachers ever again but another part of me wants them to see me while I’m wearing a low cut crop top and minishorts with one of the gay haircuts I tend to get. Like, this is what you created. If you all and your catholic school rules weren’t so restrictive, I wouldn’t be enjoying this so much.

#it was so hypocritical back then too #once at an 8th grade dance I was told the neckline of my dress was too low (it wasn’t)#while the 7th grade girls wore significantly lower necklines #but didn’t get called out at all #because the only difference was that I already wore C cups and they barely had any chest to speak of

i just remembered an old picture of me that i want so i am about to go on a deep dive of my moms facebook looking for it

#remembered what i wore to my very first school dance in 7th grade #which was a black dress with long sleeves and lace it was very goth which was Not the style then at least at my school #and then i wore my boots. like my cowgirl boots that i used for actual horseback riding so they were all beat up 😭#but i wore those boots every single fucking day from like 5th-8th grade they were my emotional support #anyway. about to prove that i did yallternative before it was cool
