ok but imagine robby on his 3 month sabbatical biking from coast to coast or whatever he's upto. one night he stops at a shitty little biker dive bar in a bumfuck nowhere town and yk what, fuck it he deserves this break. so he lets the burn of cheap whiskey sting down his throat and a guy he exchanges two smiles with fuck him into the threadbare mattress of his motel room. the guy has nice arms and a sly crooked smile and silver curls but robby doesnt think too much about it. he leaves with a crisp 'thanks, had a great time' and robby doesnt even ask for his name. just like they'd agreed. the guy leaves and that's what robby wanted but this pestering hollow feeling behind his ribs still won't go away and he can't think of anything else to do so he picks up his phone and dials the number. abbot's always been good about answering his phone and robby doesnt look at his watch but somehow he knows this is the right moment during the 3am lull when abbot makes his way up to the roof to catch his breath. it's the first time in a month that robby's caller id has shown up on his phone and abbot picks up after two rings- because he can't do anything else
