Despite knowing spoilers, I’ve never actually read or seen The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I wanted to read it before the new book but sitting still and reading has been hard for me recently. So, I’ve been listening to the audiobook while going about my daily business and the horrors are actually nauseating. I keep having to take breaks. As an adult, all this violence and (of course) banality of evil is literally sickening. I don’t know how children read it. I don’t know if I could’ve read this prequel when I was reading the original trilogy as a child. To see the evil from the other side. It’s vile and disgusting and potent.
