It finally reached a point where Drake decided that he was going to spend more time in his base housing since his 'sleep kept getting interrupted'. Andrew had almost rolled his eyes when that very night Drake tried his door once again, one last attempt before heading to base it seems.

A car alarm went off.

Richard swears.

Andrew heads to the window.

He sees the kid for the first time since that very first night. "Hey!" he calls out assured that no one would be able to hear him over the cacophony.

Alina’s relationship with her powers, pt. 3

Chapter 7

Now I'm wondering how much worse is Alina's loss since she had two amplifiers making her connection to her powers stronger. She wasn't robbed only of what made her herself, but another two pieces that became a part of her just as much.

Shouldn't that be THE purpose of training?

Since the powers themselves are literally a part of every Grisha, yet amplifier is optional?

Alina draws comfort from her powers during her volcra-slaughter breakdown.

Chapter 10

She uses her powers as an excuse not to cross the Fold too many times, but she also admits they're truly in excellent condition. Her description of them overflowing with love and affection.

Alina feels sun on her skin and immediately reaches to touch the scales. They're all one now.

Geez, Alina! Just get yourself a nice bracer, and look for other ways to develop your powers, than "honing the Cut".

I think even if there IS a draw between the amplifiers, this is purely mental issue. Alina hit a dead end in all her efforts, she has no one to turn to for help, so she focuses on that one thing, that would surely change everything. Getting more power became her universal solution, succumbing to pre-existing connection partly absolves her of blame for possible consequences. Sure, it's still "greed", but she's just a weak girl way in over her head, how is she to resist?

Chapter 20

Malyen's famous poster abuser boyfriend moment and Alina's words- simple and clear. She'd NEVER give up her powers. At least that's her "selfish" independent self talking.

sometimes its so crazy to realize that there's actually a lot of things i like. that i thought i didn't like because i was a depressed teenager. i love being outside! i love swimming! i love talking to people! even strangers sometimes! i love getting dressed in fun outfits and doing makeup! i love reading and going to art museums! i just thought i was doomed forever to a life of complete and total apathy and void! and now look at me! still a little shaky but i'm doing it!!!!!

DAY 216: sorry for another discussion post, and a rather negative one at that, but i’ve brought this up with a few other yttd fans and i feel like i’m the only one who recalls this…

but does literally ANYONE ELSE rememebr when reko’s tag was just FULL of reko hate? because i VIVIDLY remember specifically AVOIDING TUMBLR AND CALLING MY FRIENDS ABOUT IT…. but everytime i bring it up, people are shocked this ever occurred!!!! Alright I have a lot of ocs for Percy Jackson, but I don’t have a lot of powers for them. Like, the most interesting power I have rn is an Apollo kid who can inflict plague and sickness on other people. All my other characters? Lame! So, give me suggestions on powers for any cabin that aren’t just “Oh, a son of Poseidon controls water”.

you ever think about how pretty much the only reason we use base10 is because we have 10 fingers and if everyone had 6 fingers on each hand we'd use base12 and never even think a thing of it and also math would be pretty much better in every way?
