watching 'cats vs monkeys' and yallllllllllllllll EVERY TIME i'm like, SURPRISED that i like kenma even more every time i see him. come ON, him running and imagining dragons and adventures! kuro and kenma looking out for each other! the whole thing with him and yamamoto where they didn't get each other but they respect each other's differences now, and they both bleached their hair and that means something i think
augh!!!!!! the love has extended to all of nekoma, tbh--kuroo is SUCH a fun character, and yaku and lev really got to me in the land vs sky ova's, and kai is so dependable, and i just really love how well defined everyone on this team is! like, they are giving a LOT of screentime to developing nekoma's characters, and i really appreciate it tbh.
i bought a ticket to go see the movie tomorrow and yall. i may not survive.

every day my friend siraj (#219) travels to central gaza to access wifi so he can come on this platform and beg people for 8 hours to donate to him so he can afford to rent an apartment for his family of 24 that includes 10 children and 2 elders who will undoubtedly suffer from severe illness without access to medical care over the coming winter
israel is doing everything it can to stop palestinians from giving each other medical care right now. just yesterday the world was shocked with the image of israel burning medical patients alive while they were still hooked up to their IVs in the medical tents in the ruins of al aqsa hospital - in central gaza, not far from where siraj spends his days on the internet.
please donate if you can. please share (i know you can). siraj puts himself in danger to appeal to you! the least we could do is make his effort worthwhile.

Siraj's story
Since the start of the genocide in October, Siraj and his family of 5 (his wife and 3 kids) have been displaced 6 times. Like many other Gazans, they are now living in a cramped tent without basic necessities like food and water. Conditions in the area are unhygienic, and the collapse of Gaza's healthcare system means that if they were to become sick, they likely would not be able to get treated. His children are unable to attend school because of the genocide, and instead of learning and playing as they usually would they now spend their time doing difficult tasks, like walking long distances to get drinking water. Because their home was destroyed in airstrikes, Siraj began his GFM to cover the cost of rebuilding his family's home. He and his wife want to repair the damage that was done to their lives and their children's lives, and the first step is building their home again. Siraj's fundraiser is new and it is legitimate, but it is extremely low on funds with only $7.6/82k (CAD), not even 8% of their goal. Please donate what you can to his fundraiser; if you don't have the means, send his link to someone in your life who you know does. Reblog his posts and share his fundraiser with others! Let's get Siraj and his family to their goal as quickly as we possibly can.

Sighs so I’m sure a lot of people here saw that tweet that blew up about a TD movie “supposedly” being talked about by the production crew. I really don’t think this is going to happen and I wish everyone would shut up about it because a movie just doesn’t really work with TD’s format but what’s really pissing me off rn is how everyone is saying if this movie happens it’s for sure gonna be about gen 1. I into another fight with a genwunner about this and need to share some points I made:
So like, think about it: logistically, gen 1 coming back, at least not without pissing off some of the same fans who act like any TD content that doesn’t involve gen 1 isn’t feasible. First off, there’s the voice actors. Some of the gen 1 characters VAs no longer live in Canada and legally wouldn’t be allowed to be hired again to work with Fresh so they’d have to be replaced. Not to mention there’s several POC characters who have white VAs; you’re going to piss people off no matter what happens there (yes, I am on the side that POC characters shouldn’t be played by white VAs, but yeah there’s some people who very strongly disagree with that). Given how much genwunners whined about Chris’s VA change, I have no doubt they’d whine here too.
Second, a lot of genwunners complain that the reboot lacks the “edgy humor” of gen 1. The thing is, too much of the humor from gen 1 just wouldn’t fly today. I tried rewatching Action during the summer and literally could only get about 5 episodes in before quitting because of how disgusted I was by the constant misogynistic jokes. There’s definitely misogyny in the reboot too, but at least Chase and Ripper aren’t spewing it out literally every five fucking seconds like Duncan. There’s just so many jokes in gen 1 where the punchline is racism, homophobia or the characters being sexualized. That last one could be fixed if they visibly aged up the characters and stated that they’re all adults now, but given how many people have said the complaint that Owen wasn’t aged up for his reboot cameo is “ridiculous” I don’t think the genwunner crowd would be too fond of that idea. A highly profitable studio like WB isn’t going to approve a show with problematic humor without seriously watering it down before release because it’s 2024 and they know their studio releasing content like that marketed at children could get them labeled as problematic and lead to a drop in profits.
Speaking of which, a gen 1 movie probably wouldn’t do too well at the box office. Total drama is marketed at ages 8-16, the majority of whom were not alive during 2007-2010 when the first three seasons were airing. Given how successful the reboot was in both the US and UK, it’s safe to say that it’s very likely the reboot was popular with its target audience. When all the kids who watched the reboot hear about the movie, they’re gonna be really confused about why a total drama movie doesn’t have the total drama characters they’re familiar with in it. I know there’s plenty of people who grew up with gen 1 who are still active TD fans, but not a lot of adults care that much about shows they watched as kids and haven’t thought about in years. I’m an adult who loves cartoons (and there’s nothing wrong with that) but there’s def quite a few shows from my childhood that I haven’t thought about in a long time because I grew out of them and I certainly wouldn’t be opening my wallet to buy a movie ticket or streaming service subscription should I hear a movie was made about one of said shows. Again, there are plenty of people who grew up with the show who still care, but I don’t think the majority of the people who watched TD as kids who are well into their 20s now are gonna be all that excited about a movie. I could definitely be proven wrong on this one, don’t get me wrong, but still
As I said before I don’t think a TD movie is actually gonna happen and that tweet was just a rumor/misinformation, but if a TD movie does happen it needs to be about the reboot cast. It just doesn’t make sense for it to be about a cast that isn’t up to date with the standards of what is socially acceptable for children’s shows in the 2020s.

Genuine question, what about King Saul? Cause I’m not really familiar with his story
Okay so this ended up pretty long so I'll put it under the cut
So he was anointed king when he went to look for his father's missing donkeys, and on the way they decided to visit a nearby town where Samuel lived. Samuel saw him and god told him that Saul was his appointed king, the first one to ever rule (before the kings there were only judges) Which was wild for him because
Tumblr media
So he was anointed king the next day, in public. Which was also really funny because my man was hiding. He was stealthing. He actually came back to his father's house and worked the land until he was called to lead the army
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So he does some king things and he does alright. I think his reign lasted two years, though some scholars say it must have been closer to 20ish. The thing is, he makes two mistakes.
First, he did not wait for Samuel before going through with an offering before a war
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Second, he was sent to attack the Amalekites, and to not spare anyone, man, woman, or children, livestock. But he spared their king and their cattle.
Tumblr media
An interesting thing here is the relationship of Saul and Samuel, as Samuel genuinely mourns that Saul is no longer to be king. And while they never see each other again after this, they both seemed to have cared for each other a lot.
So afterwards, David is anointed as the new king. At that time, Saul hasn't been made aware yet. He had David in his employ as an armor bearer, and when he was troubled, as he so often was these days, David would play the lyre to soothe him.
Tumblr media
Now there was another battle between the Philistines and the Israelites, which you're probably more familiar with. This time they had a very special guy, a giant named Goliath. You probably know of the story, how David killed him with a slingshot. What's notable here was that Saul was genuinely fond of David, even lending him his own armor, even if it did become too heavy
Tumblr media
David had befriended Jonathan and they became very close two, "knit his soul with his as if they were one". Saul have him a high rank in his army, as anything David was sent out to do he did successfully and well.
The first time we see him think negatively of David was when the people praised his deeds over Saul's, which most likely fed into his growing paranoia as well, knowing that his time as king was almost up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This time, fully convinced that David was to usurp him, he repeatedly ordered for his death, once even sending soldiers to where he lived with Saul's daughter(David's wife), though David managed to elude him.
David finally runs away with help from Jonathan (note this was a very emotional moment between the two and isn't very relevant to the story but it's great) and becomes a fugitive. He gains temporary refuge at a house of priests, who send him off with food and a weapon. Saul put these priests to death.
By now David has amassed a group of supporters who believed that he should be the rightful king. While Saul was pursuing them, they hid themselves away in a cave. Saul went to go take a piss and the men try to convince David to strike at his back. David spares Saul however, cutting off a piece of his cloak and showing it to him later on. He still believed Saul to be the rightful king and didn't want to hurt him.
8 Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. 9 He said to Saul, “Why do you listen when men say, ‘David is bent on harming you’? 10 This day you have seen with your own eyes how the Lord delivered you into my hands in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you; I said, ‘I will not lay my hand on my lord, because he is the Lord’s anointed.’ 11 See, my father, look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut off the corner of your robe but did not kill you. See that there is nothing in my hand to indicate that I am guilty of wrongdoing or rebellion. I have not wronged you, but you are hunting me down to take my life. 12 May the Lord judge between you and me. And may the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you. 13 As the old saying goes, ‘From evildoers come evil deeds,’ so my hand will not touch you.
I can't post anymore photos sorry HAHA.
Overcome with remorse and guilt, Saul swears that he will stop chasing David and goes home.
But again, Saul goes after David, making camp near the wilderness where he stayed at. David snuck in under the cover of night and stole from Saul a water jug and a spear, which he showed to him when morning came.
8 Abishai said to David, “Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of the spear; I won’t strike him twice.” 9 But David said to Abishai, “Don’t destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless? 10 As surely as the Lord lives,” he said, “the Lord himself will strike him, or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish. 11 But the Lord forbid that I should lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed. Now get the spear and water jug that are near his head, and let’s go.”
17 Saul recognized David’s voice and said, “Is that your voice, David my son?” David replied, “Yes it is, my lord the king.” 18 And he added, “Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong am I guilty of?
And so once again guilty and remorseful, they part ways.
At this point, Samuel had already passed away. Desperate at an oncoming war, Saul seeks out a medium (which were forbidden) and asks to see Samuel's ghost
8 So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. “Consult a spirit for me,” he said, “and bring up for me the one I name.” 9 But the woman said to him, “Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?” 10 Saul swore to her by the Lord, “As surely as the Lord lives, you will not be punished for this.” 11 Then the woman asked, “Whom shall I bring up for you?” “Bring up Samuel,” he said. 12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, “Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!” 13 The king said to her, “Don’t be afraid. What do you see?” The woman said, “I see a ghostly figure[a] coming up out of the earth.” 14 “What does he look like?” he asked. “An old man wearing a robe is coming up,” she said. Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.
But Samuel only repeats what has been said before, and says that he and his children will be delivered to the hand of the Philistines, and that tomorrow, he and his son will join Samuel (will die).
The next day, they were fighting and losing. While being pursued and knowing that they were close to defeat, Saul runs himself through his sword and dies, reasoning that death is better than captivity. His three sons died that day too.
(notably, he was still alive after impaling himself. A nearby soldier passed by and Saul begged him to finish the job, which he did)
His line does still live on, as David had taken in his only surviving grandson, Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth.
And yeah! That's a summarized version of his life. I just find his story fascinating, how his reign slowly grew more corrupted and paranoid, and how even the people closest to him turned on him, helping instead his greatest enemy, who wanted nothing but to serve him. It's really tragic haha. And presumably, he didn't even want to be king. After Samuel anointed him before the people, Saul went back to his home in Gibeah. He continued to work on his father's land until he was needed to lead the people in battle.

I have been talking with Siraj @siraj2024 over tumblr for weeks now. He is a dedicated journalist that aspires to get a PHD, for months he walked 3 km just to get some expensive internet hotspot every single day, nevertheless the danger and how he could use some of the money spent to get water and food for his family.
The situation for his family has become increasingly dire, with his son Amir in constant physical pain with a skin infection that has spread to another sibling. And this new update Siraj gave as if 8/16 that his parents and 7 brothers was notified by IOF and had to evacuate to them to escape death. They need funds asap to purchase new tent and other necessities of life.
Please help out. The least we can do is to share and donate if you can. As if 8/16/2024 we are at 38,474 CAD and we need to reach the 40,000 CAD short term goal ASAP. He is vetted at 219 on Hussein's spreadsheet. Remember that if you are in the US, 1 USD equals 1.39 CAD so even a small donation goes far.
Siraj deserves to be able to provide a well-built home for his children, who have been sleeping in a tent for months now since their home was destroyed. I have also attached a graphic to make sharing in various platforms easier!!
