When I was contemplating what to have for dinner, I remembered the leftover salad in the fridge.

I made the salad last Sunday and had it with French fries, which were definitely Belgian and not at all French, at my friend's house. I put the leftovers in my fridge and forgot about them.

They were a little... questionable, the way salads are when you leave them too long, but a smell and taste test determined their edibility. But I wasn't going to it eat straight.

I cooked some pasta, added a couple of more fresh vegetables and some beans, a dollop up vegan mayonnaise, and lightly toasted pine nuts.

Salad saved.

I try my best not to be a doomer but dear lord if today’s SC decision didn’t bring my mental state right back to 2020

I completely 200% feel you, but I'm trying to think of it like this. Since all of the most awful people in the world are doing their utmost to help Trump win, think of how incredibly satisfying it will be if we all put in the work and make him fucking lose anyway. So many truly horrible people, especially Trump himself, are going to have a Real Bad Time if he loses this election again, with work and effort on our part this is still completely possible, and I for one vote we give it to them without delay. So. Yeah.

This untitled illustration by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Evening Star on November 8, 1908, depicts the feeling of many that William Howard Taft would bring prosperity to the country.
