HHH all my old old hcs about nurse navis being originally created to be disposable / meant to be like tools (in the company/hospital that created meddy) cause hospitals needed a lot of them and they would be assisting different patients all the time. so they were programmed to fulfill their purpose only: that their patients were their priority (yet without attachment bc caring too much for patients would "get in the way of their work", as they would die or leave eventually), they had to always obey doctors etc. and if for whatever reason they were unable to fulfill their duty or were considered to become defective they were quickly discarded and replaced by another. so their emotions were kept very in check.

meddy's creator was a kind doctor that considered meddy like a daughter, and who couldn't help being attached to the navis he made. but he worked for that company so after they were done making navis, they were sent off to hospitals, so he and meddy never met again. but his hope was that meddy would meet someone that cared for her, just as he had, and that she could care for them too; that she could understand what he meant when he spoke of love.

this hc is a mix of anime/game verse cause in the anime we see meddy with a previous appearance

from when she was jasmine friend's navi (who i called Mei); so my hc is that she used to be a nurse navi at a hospital, but got assigned to mei as a personal nurse navi. and mei considered meddy a friend from the start, didn't treat her like a tool, and meddy inevitably came to care for her, and experienced loss for the first time when she died. she felt that without her, her purpose also died, because she couldn't bear going back to working at the hospital and caring for another patient and potentially watch them die; and the moment she refused, she'd be deleted, and another would take her place.

but then mei's mom gave her to jasmine, and in their mutual grief over the loss of their friend they decided to stick together; and jasmine encouraged meddy to find a new purpose, a dream of her own :'')

Maddie and Scott, obviously. Maddie and (X-Man) Nate. Surprisingly Maddie and Sebastian is NOT a NOTP for me, it seemed like he treated her with respect. If she wants some of that hairy capitalist dick, she can have it.

When Maddie gets a chance to really calm down and think about everything without demonic influence or getting caught up in revenge, she is going to question all of her personal tastes. How much of it was really "her" and how much was false implanted memory? And how much was Jean? Does Jean prefer to sleep on her side, does Jean take her coffee black, does Jean like classic rock, etc. Maddie goes through a phase of re-trying everything, just to figure out the "real" her. She also tries to subtly get answers about Jean, but Jean figures it out, and they just sit down over coffee and talk. Also, I just really want to imagine Maddie hanging out on a beach, trying different cocktails and eating chili fries. "Don't worry, X-Men, I'm finding myself." She deserves it.

6: favorite line from this character

That bit during Wolverine's wedding, back when Maddie was still normal human Madelyne Pryor, when she sees Lockheed curled up sleeping in her handbag and just turns to Scott and demands to know what the hell he has gotten her into. And yet, she sticks around, like a champ.

Also, that scene in Fall of the Mutants where she turns to the camera and pleads for Scott to find their son, knowing she is about to "die." How can anyone look at that and decide that she should turn evil and die unredeemed?

Hard to relate to everything Maddie has been through, but I guess I can relate to not always have a firm grasp on who you are as a person.

1: sexuality headcanon: Dorothea strikes me as bi with a favor for women that is extremely strong. Combine that with her history and her perspective towards men and... I guess "effectively lesbian" is the closest description?

2: otp: I can't decide between Edelgard and Petra! They're both so good!

3: brotp: Ferdinand, quite solidly. There's this understanding between them, and I really liked the evolution of their connection.

4: notp: Yep, the pair with Ferdinand would be my notp. My brotps tend to also be my notps with very few exceptions. Also, Ferdibert is the one FE3H monoship I hold. That being said... even though all conflicting ships are technically notps, they don't hit me too strongly, unless the conflicting ship is also a strong brotp - like it is here with Dorothea.

5: first headcanon that pops into my head: That she's someone who finds a way to be politically involved, or at least relevant. Not out of personal gain, as her superficial cover might suggest, but out of genuine desire. Like... even when she goes all in on the opera house, I feel like she'd be politically relevant somehow.

6: favorite line from this character: So... I mentioned doing a translation of the JP Edelthea supports, right? My favorite line is from the A Support. Below is the EN line, the JP line and transliteration, and my translation of the JP line in italics:

And then I’ll sing it in your face! そして、私が高らかに歌う… [soshite, watashi ga takaraka ni utau...] And then, I will sing it from the heavens…

At this point in the support, Dorothea mentions composing an opera about Edelgard on the spot, to stop Edelgard's inquiry into her status. The EN version mentions singing in her face... but the JP version uses this word, 'takaraka'. The kanji character means 'high' or 'tall', but the word translates roughly as 'ringing' or 'sonorous'. The way Juri Nagatsuma, the JP voice actress, delivers the line, there's this pride that shines through - it's elegant, strong, and shines with her romantic feelings for Edelgard, though they aren't explicitly noted. This line/delivery best encapsulates my view of her in general. It's also why I opted for that translation - it carries that sort of vibe.

7: one way in which I relate to this character I'm definitely a fan of music in general! And while I'm not super versed in opera, what little I do know of the style, I love quite a bit!

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character To me, EN Dorothea lacks a certain delicacy or nuance that JP Dorothea has. That being said, I think it fits well with EN Dorothea's character. I also think EN Dorothea is a character that Western audiences more easily connect to and I love her too - it's just that she was a touch too 'loud' for me, yielding the mild second-hand shyness.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE BRIDGERTON FANDOM

Okay so context for why I decided to write this: I had started drafting the last two Salty Asks since I got them yesterday but the fandom drama and fighting really has reared such an ugly head. It's just awful the language and hostility on both sides - especially to those on anon. Just because you can hide behind the screen and anonymity to throw such terrible rhetorics that are just straight up being racist and misogynistic, doesn't mean you should do it.

That being said I don't think posting my answers for those questions are going to be productive or create positive content in the fandom tags and spaces no matter how funny or in jest I make it. So I'll refrain from posting them and if the anons who sent them would still like to know my answers, you can hit me up again via asks off-anon so I can reply privately or even drop me a DM if you're feeling comfortable enough to do so. I promise I don't bite! For reference these were the questions the last two anons asked:

Now to the Main Part of this post. I would really appreciate it if EVERYONE could read this. Like literally if you don't wanna read the first two paragraphs fine, just scroll and:

EVERYONE PLEASE READ FROM THIS POINT ON

I initially wrote this part as an answer to the asks and was going to post it last to close out the Salty Asks because it felt like a good way to end out everything that had been answered and make it clear how to maintain fandom boundaries and just be civil and nice. Here it is as I wrote it last night and just added a section about the language and 'defences' used on anon but are really attacks on the blog user:

We all need to take a breather and cool off - even me I'll admit. We need to stop clutching our pearls every time our faves get criticised.

Across the board and depending on the ship/story, it's a scale of "Yes, he's trash but he's my trash <3 what about it?" (Me about Anthony tbh) to "HOW DARE YOU INSULT THEM - THEY CAN DO NO WRONG" (this goes without saying which stans defend their characters like this). It's the doubling down on awful actions that get to me. And now I'm seeing that once these toxic people (I'm not even going to dignify calling them fans - if you were fans you wouldn't spend all day harassing other blogs about their ships) hiding behind anons run out of defences for why their ship is superior and should be liked by everyone, they start attacking other ships. Especially if the blog that they are sending anons to like this particular ship. This point is very much an observation of what I saw unfold last night and it was absolutely vile:

I do not understand how discourse on Promogate (coined by my brilliant friend 🔔) had devolved to toxic people who claim to be Polin fans slinging mud at Francesca and Franchel? Like Francesca has literally done nothing and isn't even around and THEY ARE USING THAT??? against her. Like please guys Frannie is the least problematic Bridgerton, why single her out?

Like I mentioned earlier, once the toxic anons run out of any semblance of a defence to 'protect' their faves, they either start attacking bloggers themselves or reduce to being petty and going after the blogger's ships in hopes to make them feel as bad as they clearly feel to lash out like this.

Then of course, going straight to the root of the problem and the original reason that I disliked Show!Penelope was how her storyline with Marina concluded. That was fully on the writers and CVD's shoulders. They should have never written it like that or at least taken a step back to evaluate the racial implications of Penelope lashing out at Marina in such a vitriol and public manner, leading to Marina almost dying after being publicly humiliated and outcast from society. And instead of toxic anons using some critical thinking for once in their lives we get shit like this:

I'm not even going to explain why these comments are horrible and let the obvious racism and misogyny that jumped out tell it for you.

Like Jesus Christ, I know they are fictional characters. But think about why you (toxic anon) have such a deep rage about a black woman being chosen and loved by a Bridgerton, and why you feel the need to throw awful words and comments like this at her. And yes, Marina is fictional and this won't affect her but the BIPOC fans and people who follow the tags will see these comments. I can tell you as a WOC myself, it fucking hurts to see these kind of asks. It shows us there are people in the fandom who do not give a shit about us or view us as humans beings, probably see us as disposable and find our opinions and concerns about these storylines as irrelevant.

The main takeaway from this is that if someone - especially a person from the targeted community - tells you why these characters' actions are hurtful/disgusting/ problematic, LISTEN. As a whole fandom, we have forgotten to listen and take into account of other voices. Especially within our fandom, the biggest problem I would say is not listening to minority group's voices - be people of colour or the queer community.

[Examples include: Black fans about the treatment of Marina, the Desi community about the Sharmas and the unnecessary India plotline and backstory as well as the Queer community with the Benedict Being Bi/Lesbian Eloise discourse. LISTEN to us when we talk about these issues and try to see it from our point of view.]

On the flip side, the fictional 'crimes' (I use this term loosely and I mean the bad problematic behaviour/actions) aside, I think snarking on characters you dislike is fine but don't go around attacking people who like them just stay in your own corner of the fandom.

You can stay in your lane by: unfollowing/blocking, tagging posts accordingly like let's say you often reblog snarky comments and posts about a certain character, just tag it as '[Character] Critical' and then if you have a follower who likes the character they can just block that tag. And stay out of ask boxs if you're going to be overtly mean and not offering any constructive criticism.

This is a lesson I learnt personally as well over the last year being in the fandom. I'll admit I snark a lot on a couple of characters I just cannot stand but I'm trying to do better to minimise the snarking from now on. I also know there are groups of people who like them and view the tag. We are all real people behind our screens, so I respect their preferences and them as a person. It's not like I am running a hate blog about these characters and sending death threats via anon. There's just that line between snark and being cruel and we should be mindful of it.

This is the first and last time I'll ever laid it all out in a post like this but that does not mean I will stop calling out bad behaviour should it come to my blog. If not, I'm going to follow my own advice and block tags.

If none of you read any of that, here's a TDLR:

1) Racist/sexist/homophobic and generally hateful anon asks are not it!

2) Listen to the minorities groups within the fandom when we bring up valid issues and concerns with problematic storylines/promo/character actions

3) Just be civil and respect fellow fans - we are all in the same fandom at the end of the day and have to co-exist.

4) Carve out your own fandom space on your blog and curate your fandom experience via unfollowing/blocking and tagging posts accordingly if you want to keep away from different parts of the fandom.

[Note: I will be keeping my ask box open for constructive discussions but the moment I catch any whiff of hate or distasteful comments about me or any characters, I will block you and turn off anons. As my personal rules goes: if you have something rude to say or want to shit talk me, say it to my face.]

What I love about them: genuinely love how much he cares about all his friends, not just emilia but everyone. also the way hes good with the village kids is really cute, it was the first thing that really endeared me to him in arc 2 when i just though "oh is this dude just gonna be a jackass?" but he wasnt

What I hate about them: arcs 1-3 his huge flaw of projecting his wants onto other people, especially emilia, and acting entitled to her and everyone else and treating them like characters to get the isekai fantasy of his dreams. after he overcomes that mid arc 3 though there isnt anything i really dislike about him, i just want him to get some fucking therapy that doesnt come in the form of a fucked up tea party

Favorite friendship: his friendship with beatrice is so sweet! like theyre genuinely like siblings, theres a perfect balance of fluff and picking on each other and its just very sweet. also i love his friendship with julius because its so... like. hes literally just tsundere about it its hilarious. when he said "no he isnt a friend hes something much more... annoying." hes gonna hold this grudge until he dies even though its very obvious theyre friends

NOTP: again, anything gross. also controversial opinion, not that i dislike it, but i think people that are mad he didnt end up with rem are sort of missing the point? rem's relationship with subaru is one where shes incredibly self-sacrificial and its NOT healthy, its basically his relationship w emilia in arcs 1-3 but hes on the other end of it. as of arc 7 rem is awake but has amnesia and i honestly am really excited to see her develop now w/o that dependence on subaru or ram bc i wanna see her overcome her inferiority complex... you can do it rem ilu

1. What do you like the most about them?

i think it'd be his confidence/arrogance, and i'm specifically putting them together because i just ADORE the way they're inherently part of the same aspect of his character that's just so so interesting. well first things first i adore arrogant characters, like not every kind of arrogance but when done well it's really something that i love, and i think ramiro's is like...really interesting because his arrogance really comes from his confidence in himself and his skills, and when at the beginning of the season the competition is taken away from yam and him because of his arrogance he really, steps back you know, but what i love is that he does it for himself, and from this moment you really see him putting so many efforts in his practice, both in music and in skating, and it's like...one of the only characters to actually do it and it's super nice i think. i love that he knows what he's worth and is still arrogant, but that he's also down to earth enough to step back when he needs to

i think i need a little more time to decide, i would tend to say bi but gay would fit him very well too i think, but he's definitely a mlm king no cishet man would be like that

2. What non sexual activities do they like to do together?

Grass is Greener Verse: 

Theater, as shocking as it is that they can fixate on something where the eyes aren't on either of them. Well, there is the pre-show ritual of Kairi talking about how well she would have done as a stage actress. Vanitas more often takes a supportive rather than sarcastic response to this, and tells her she should go to some open auditions. It's far from too late. She's young, hot, and talented (He presumes the last one, but he'd never bet the opposite...and after he sees the one movie she did and some of the commercials...he'll just keep his mouth shut on talented). Sometimes, she'll beam, call him right, and make plans she doesn't follow through on. Sometimes she's noncommittal. Sometimes she'll glare at him, deciding he's just trying to end conversation or mock that she is all talk. Post-show there's also talk--this time from both of them--about how they could have done better in certain roles, which is a couples bonding activity all on its own. HOWEVER, these types of fantasies are not why they love plays. They think is an engrossing form of storytelling, that make worlds come to life and put you in them more than movies or tv. Also, they are simply dramatic nerds at heart.

They also play tennis. Primarily doubles, though you would be foolish to play against them, but they enjoy competing with each other too.

Rock climbing, but at an indoor rock gym. Anyone who asks them if they are training for something/ever planning a trip receives incredibly incredulous looks and scoffing. Not because of the potential danger, because of the very idea of them out in the wilderness...though sometimes Kairi will counter this by mentioning that one summer she worked for her father's, now Axel's, landscaping business. That was getting dirty in nature. Vanitas's response to this is not for this headcanon space

A more canon-verse approach (what do you mean Vanitas not joining the guardians of light post-kh3 is not canon?): There is a lot of sparring. Vanitas helps Kairi advance her keyblade training and just plain get out some of the anger in the grief of losing Sora. Van doesn't go easy and Kairi likes that. Kairi helps Vanitas with any gaps in education without talking down, pitying or even mentioning his strange upbringing, or, the worst, comparing him to Roxas or Xion (because he has identity issues too). I'm not even talking traditional education, though that too if he wants, but education on social situations...which he's not a complete idiot about. He's actually really good at reading people. He just needs a little guidance on what way to use the info, because he only has like five moves and not every situation calls for "taunt" or "threaten loved one". Kairi makes him a much better manipulator. Thanks Kairi. There's also a lot of snuggling, because I say so, that's why. I just see them both as a bit yearning for physical reassurance in their lonely spells, and also the least likely to say it for their own different reasons, so they read it in each other and  just give each other what they need but won't ask for.

3. Who does chores around the house?

Grass is Greener: Neither, as much as it can be helped. It's a stand off about most of the regular chores, and periodically they have a cleaning service come through that is more thorough than either of them are. More often than not, Kairi is the one that "breaks" over keeping the kitchen clean, and Vanitas about cleaning bathrooms and straightening living areas. Vanitas is very neat as a habit, and Kairi likes her surroundings to show a little bit of how she likes chaos--she just is grossed out by dirty dishes, grease stains, and food crumbs. Cooking is a bit of a fifty-fifty with both preferring quickly assembled meals. Laundry is taken down to nothing-to-wear levels, and then it's whoever needs something first. Though sometimes this all goes out the windows, and Kairi goes through "Look, I'm a fifties housewife" sprints where suddenly everything's spotless and she's cooked a three course dinner and did it all in a cocktail dress because she didn't realize you're supposed to change into the dress after. 

Kinda-canon: Vanitas. He has a lot of pent up emotions and sometimes you have got to stress clean or cook. Kairi would help, but the arrangement of Vanitas doing the lion's share and it seeming to help him definitely works for the self-described lazy bum.

4. Who’s the better cook?

Grass is Greener: Vanitas. Kairi is a bit careless following recipes and doesn't have the innate "cooking sense" in regard to estimating amounts, flavors, heat, or time to freestyle. Vanitas, when he does cook, tends to get really serious about it even though he prefers the simple to assemble, like I said in the last answer.

Kinda Canon: Kairi. Vanitas is slow to adjust from the “food is only fuel not pleasure” mindset and Kairi starts out with a base of her adoptive parents having taught her some things. Vanitas has a sharp learning curve though, bullying Little Chef into helping him (because he's not going to lose) and not realizing that the bullying is what makes Little Chef more reluctant and ensures Remy doesn't teach him all the secrets he does to others.  Anyone can cook, but if you're mean you are taught to cook less well. Once Kairi gets Little Chef tutelage, it's all over.

5. Who’s the funniest drunk?

Grass is Greener: Both and neither in a way. They both have a very high tolerance. They tend to act out more on purpose out of the excuse than act out because of a truly altered state. Alcohol isn't magic. It just lowers inhibitions and neither has those to begin with. If I had to choose though, Kairi is a funnier drunk, because Vanitas's mean streak becomes more developed the drunker he is, whereas Kairi's mean streak, when she chooses to have one, is more practiced and purposeful cultivation instead of a natural harshness.

Kinda Canon: Vanitas. He is not prepared, and once he loses his filter everything spills out, and it's a lot less ugly than some people expected. Kairi just gets giggly and slightly louder, but otherwise doesn't change.

6. Do they have kids?

Grass is Greener: :) :D  Listen. Listen. If Shaky was the one who carelessly put "I don't think it fits me the way it used to" on the Vanikai picture she drew. SUPPOSEDLY this was done for cleavage and for the "help you take it off" joke but I know a dangled plotline when I see it. 

Kinda Canon: That partially depends on the state of the worlds and how many other keybearers there are when they are older. Even in a stable universe, I don't see them having kids young and it being a long discussion of whether they want kids at all, not the least because of the implications of Vanitas's powers and whether they are only his or would be passed down--what could happen to an infant that could summon Unversed and not know how to retract them even if they were loyal especially if it would be hurt by them being vanquished. I see them adopting orphans from other worlds and saying fuck world order more than having kids naturally. 

7. Do they have any traditions?

Grass is Greener: Annual trip to Vegas to recreate the way they met under new created identities.

Kinda Canon:  Vanitas calls every tradition he's introduced to stupid without fail. Vanitas also gets VERY into every holiday, and Kairi is all too happy to indulge. Then, he starts nudging her about teaching him more dumb holidays. Their tradition becomes ALL THE TRADITIONS. They celebrate holidays from every world and from every religion if there's a way to do it respectfully--and if it's not appropriate to participate, then they just learn about it as much as they are permitted--and then they look up and celebrate obscure or "made up" things like Leave a Zucchini on a Neighbor's Porch Day.

8. What do they fight about?

Grass is Greener:  What you would expect. 

Housework. 

Why do you take criticism like a personal attack?

What do you do all day? versus Why are you never home? 

Were you flirting with the waiter? 

Did you even want the baby? Was it a relief when I lost it?

Kind of Canon: Imagine Kairi saying in the same tone as Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast "Well you should learn to control your temper!"

No, really, it's mainly about Vanitas being "mean" to people...and then sometimes it's about Kairi doing the same and then blaming him as a bad influence.

9. What would they do if they found their paring tag on tumblr? (If they have one)

Grass is Greener: The flippant answer is that they are really confused about this whole Disney crossover with weird swords thing, and why they are teenagers in so many of these pictures. Don't even get them started on the skirt over the muscle suit paired with the motorcycle helmet Vanitas sees himself put in. When he wears a skirt he has a lot better style, especially if Kairi helps put together the outfit.

But let's take this in a different way. That one bad movie Kairi did is actually gaining a small cult following now years after its release. Someone does a "What Happened to Kairi Emberson? The Answer Will Shock You!" clickbait. The answer...is not shocking but enough people see a photo of Kairi, fine as ever, now Kairi White and looking so happy with Vanitas, and the pair get an objectively creepy because the next few pictures are pulled from social media they don't lock, but well intentioned few people finding and posting more cute pictures of the,  and they become a sparse tag and one that is half joking, but a RPS all the same. Kairi pretends to hate this, but is not so secretly really flattered. Vanitas genuinely hates it.

Kinda-canon:  Kairi loves it. Vanitas is fascinated despite himself. Everyone else is disappointed because they expected flustered denials or anger at those that portray them wrong, but Van and Kairi both just think it's cool.

10. Who cried at the end of Marley and me?

Grass is Greener: Neither. They roasted it for filth. They cried about it much later. Vanitas in the shower, and Kairi the next day when she was over at Xion's, saw her dog Elmo, and it all busted loose.

Kinda Canon: Vanitas. Cue a discussion about how movies work, how they are not real, and Vanitas snapping that he knows that until there are now multiple types of Unversed to take care of. Kairi gently cuddles both her man and the Unversed until equilibrium returns.

11. Who always wins at Mario kart?

Kairi in all universes. Vanitas doesn't care in GiG, but in canon there is a shout of "Rematch and this time it counts!" despite it being the 100th rematch

12. One thing I like about this ship?

That they have potential to understand each other more than people who technically know them better, or at least the concept of being seen a certain way and having a different "certain way" that everyone thinks it would be better if they grew toward instead of just being allowed to be. Princess of Heart and Agent of Darkness aren't really so different after all.

13. One thing I don’t like about the ship?

When it's clear that it's a fill in for people who want Soriku but can't think of anyone but Sora for Kairi, and so pick "other Sora." There's not anything wrong with that outright, and this isn't me annoyed with pair the spares (though that can rub wrong if it is handled wrong or I'm in a mood to make a point about how not everyone needs a romantic relationship), but annoyed with the reduction of Vanitas to "edgy Sora"

Grass is Greener: Even though they think they met in Vegas, they had crossed paths before and probably more than once. I don't have specific headcanons (yet), but this may be something if I ever write the other 20 bazillion Grass is Greener scenes for various characters and relationships that I want to do first.

Kind of Canon:  Kairi makes her own version of the suit and borrows Vanitas's helmet sometimes to do things she would never "get away with" as herself. Vanitas blesses this, helps her with the suit, and hands over the helmet after kissing the visor for luck. He also exposes her as a fake Vanitas by showing up at the worst time on purpose.

Hi thank you! ♥ I will use the books for my answers, since I didn’t really like most of the movies. I apologize if I mix up some of the characters, I’ve only read the books in my native language so I will have to google for some of the names in English. :’D

Top 5 favorite characters: Minerva McGonagall, Luna Lovegood, Fred & George Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Ginny Weasley. Other characters you like: The golden trio obviously, Molly, Dobby, Draco Malfoy, ... There are not a lot of characters I dislike. Least favourite characters: Umbridge, for obvious reasons. Otps: Hermione and Ron. Notps: I don’t think I have any? I’m not very invested in shipping when it comes to the HP fandom, I pretty much keep an open mind to everything? Except incest but I’ve never seen anyone ship anything like that, so. Favourite friendships: Harry, Ron and Hermione, obviously, and I also really liked Fren, George and Lee, and Lavender and Parvati. I mean, obviously I was rooting for Harry and the ending was a satisfying one, just like every other time Harry beat Voldemort, but the moment that made me fangirl the hardest would probably be Hermione punching Draco in the face. xD When it really disappointed you: The only truly disappointing thing about the book is how House-Elves are treated. Other than that, the only time I’m disappoint is literally every time JK Rowling decides it’s a good idea to open her mouth. Saddest moment: The moment Harry breaks down in Dumbledore’s chambers after Sirius dies gives me chills every. damn. time I reread the book. Most shocking twist:  When did you start reading: I think the first three books were already out when I started to read them. My classmates kept telling me to do it and I was in that annoying phase where I refused to dive into anything that was this massively popular - but I’m glad I eventually caved because if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have grown up in this fandom and that means I would’ve had an entirely different experience. Now I can still say I grew up with the books and I’m glad I did. Best animal/creature: I’m a gigantic sucker for unicorns and I’m not sorry about it. xD Favourite location: I mean, Hogwarts is amazing, the descriptions of the castle never get old. Trope you wish they would stop using: Ehh... I honestly don’t know? One thing this book does better than others: I love how this show has such an inspired, dedicated, creative fanbase. The amount of HP related art, fanfiction, headcanons, ... out there is mindblowing. I’ve never quite seen that happen in any other fandom and it’s part of why I love this one as much as I do. Like how people can take a character that’s mentioned maybe a couple of times in the books and they create so much content for them to the point where I’ve actively had to stop myself from writing an answer to this questions because the answer isn’t canon, that’s admirable. Funniest moments: Fred and George wrecking havoc on Umbridge and finally leaving the castle after they get caught is without a doubt the funniest scene I can think of. Couple you would like to see: Like I said, I was never really into shipping anyone with anyone. I enjoy quite a lot of fanon ships I see on Tumblr, though. Actor/Actress you want to join the cast: / Favourite outfit: Every outfit I can think of is influenced by the movies so I don’t really have an answer to this. I would’ve loved to see Hermione’s dress to the Yule Ball, though, and the Patil sisters’. Oh, and Fleur’s wedding dress. Favourite item: The Marauder’s map. Do you own anything related to this show: No. What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race etc would you be in: I’m a Slytherin. Most boring plotline: I can’t think of anything. The passage that bores me the most is the one where the Minister of Magic meets the Muggle Prime Minister but that’s not a plotline. I guess everything is just so well thought of, everything that’s in the books in there for a reason and I wouldn’t cut anything out of it. Most laughably bad moment: As much as I dislike JK Rowling, she wrote seven brilliant books. I can’t think of a bad moment. There are plot holes, sure, and things that really fucking bug me, but no laughably bad moments. At least, not any that I can think of right now. The fact that she gave Cho Chang two last names as a name is a bad moment, though - but it’s not laughably. It’s just more proof that JK Rowling is a terrible person. Best flashback/flashfoward if any: The memories Snape shows to Harry, and the ones they both get to see of each other during their Occlumency lessons. Most layered character: I love the character development Ron goes through. Most one dimensional character: Ehh. There were a lot of important characters so it makes sense that not all of them got the layers they deserved. Right now nobody who’s relevant to the plot comes to mind as an answer? Scariest moment: Well, when Harry and Dumbledore came back from finding the fake Horcrux, that had me scared. Not for their lives (because it was obvious that Harry would live and Dumbledore would die) but because it felt like all of Dumbledore’s plans would be ruined so that’d probably be the scariest moment for me? Grossest moment: Ehh... I would probably throw up if I had witnessed Nagini sliding out of Bathilda’s dead body so I’m gonna go with that one, that must’ve been horrifying for Harry, especially because he spares Hermione the details. Best looking male: Well the books name Cedric Diggory as the most attractive one, so... Let’s go with that one then?  Best looking female: Fleur and Ginny Who you’re crushing on (if any): I would probably be all over Ginny if I had gone to Hogwarts. Favourite cast moment: / Favourite transportation: A Thestral! Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise): I really love the descriptions of Hogwarts. Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you: Oh god, so. many. Off the top of my head, here we go. 1. The carriages that bring the students back to the train station are mentioned specifically at the end of the fourth book and yet Harry can’t see the Thestrals until the beginning of the fifth book. 2. In what world are the Weasleys poor? Hermione specifically mentions in the seventh book that you can increase the quantity of food and Harry gets more wine for Slughorn and Hagrid with a spell in the sixth book, so no wizard or witch would have to spend any money on food, ever. And like with clothes and books and everything, why buy multiple ones? Just buy one and then duplicate it like when Hermione did it with the medallion? 3. Harry randomly remembering the phone number to get into the Ministry of Magic after almost an entire year, having heard them once: please. I started rereading the fifth book like two months ago for the gazillionth time and I already don’t remember them anymore. 4. Supposedly there’s a curse on the position as the DADA professor ever since Voldemort asked for the job, so there’s a new teacher every year, but Professor Quirrel is introduced in a way that makes it seem as if he has been teaching there for quite a while and other students (like Fred and George) treat him as such - seems to me like the curse was only activated with Harry coming to Hogwarts but that’s not what’s canon. 5. Voldemort conveniently waiting for the end of the school year each year to make his move. 6. The school year somehow always starts on a Monday and the Hogwarts express always leaves on September 1 which would mean that September 1 was a Sunday for seven years in a row. 7. Why, WHY, would they use feathers and parchment? What the hell is wrong with pen and paper? Or things like torches, when electricity has been a thing since forever? And the same goes for using owls to send letters, or the memos that are used in the Ministry of Magic: just text or e-mail, dudes. One sloppy ‘this doesn’t work here because there’s too much magic in the air’ just doesn’t cut it for me, especially because Harry does wear a watch, for instance. I probably have more but this is all I can come up with right now. xD Best promo: My childhood best friend bugging me about the books until I finally caved and started to read them. xD At what point did you fall in love with this show/book: Literally the first chapter.

7. What’s your GoT NOTP?I mean, there’s tons of obvious things to choose from here (The Lannister Twincest Hour? NOPE! Littlefinger and Sansa? NO THANKS!!!!), but I think I’ll give it to Jon and Dany, just because even though their scenes were okay, their relationship felt so underwhelming and so totally lacking in any kind of organic spark of anything (at least to me), especially after we’d seen both actors have really great chemistry with other scene partners in the past. JON AND YGRITTE! YARA AND DANY IN THAT ONE SCENE OF MY DREAMS!!!!

19. Who were you rooting for to end up on the Iron Throne?

I was rooting for the Iron Throne to be disbanded and replaced with a more democratic style of government, which … sort of happened but in the least satisfying way possible onscreen! I would have liked to see Dany arrive in Westeros and have a total downward spiral identity crisis, probably as a result of her conflict with Cersei, that in the end led to her deciding to shake off her “I am the chosen one” Solitary Savior destiny blinders and help to really break the wheel. (Would I have absolutely cherished some kind of Dany/Cersei face-off where Cersei busted out a bunch of classic “You and I aren’t so different” villain monologues while Dany tried not to look shook to her very core? MAYBE SO, DUDE. This definitely would have involved Cersei mockingly touching Dany’s cheek Very Gently And Lingeringly at some point while sneering something about her youth & beauty and it would be the Mortal Enemies Caress to launch a thousand gifsets.)

I would have loved to see Dany really descend into the darkness grappling with this, but then come out the other end ultimately making the right choice to let go of the Dragon Queen mythos to do something good for the world and the vulnerable people in it. Would there be a poignant scene of Dany ordering Drogon to leave and fly off to distant lands so she no longer has this breathing weapon of mass destruction at her disposal, and crying poignantly while she watches him fly into the distance never to return? YEP! FOR SURE.

And then, like, give me Dany and Missandei and Sansa and Yara (AND BRIENNE, STILL) on that council!!!!!! Some dudes can come too (especially Sam and Davos, because I am fond of them), but my soul insists that the ending of this story was meant to have women helping to heal the world together as best they can.
