Because Andrew isn’t angry, he’s terrified.

Kevin feels stupid that it took him this long to realize it. Stupid that it had taken until Andrew was threatening him for him to put the pieces together. Stupid because Andrew had stared out the window the entire flight back because he was desperately trying to be more scared of heights than he was for Neil.

because tumblr cut off my tags: i meant to complete using one of my fics (the weight in her heart, ch.3), but i didn't finish in time. i know, i know, mods said you don't have to finish to be a completionist, but much if not most of it wasn't written in october and the prompts didn't really inspire anything; they just kinda coincided with what was already planned. so it felt like cheating. but! i had a lot of fun, and i'm proud of what i got done. i even got to gif for fandoms i hadn't before! 20/31 ain't too shabby.

the final for my second year photography class! After seeing the beautiful They Watch the Moon by Trevor Pagan, I got interested in the long exposure aspect of it and the really beautiful green, hazy quality of the photo. So! I tried my hand at it

One of the few pieces of art that necessitated I take a nap to create it lmao. Set the camera up in my bedroom and kept the lil wireless shutter remote on my bedside table!

For the eating an apple one, during crit my teacher initially thought it was brushing teeth haha; they really liked the series though! yippee! It's not quite one of my favourites but it was very interesting to make (and fun!)

Lesson 048: The Firstborn Isn’t Always the First Born

Genesis 48:19 - But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.”

Jacob blessed both of Joseph’s sons and gave them each an equal share of his children’s inheritance.  In essence, Joseph received the blessing of the firstborn - a double share.  Why didn’t this blessing go to Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn son

Let’s read together Genesis 34:25; Genesis 35:22.

Reuben had sex with Jacob’s concubine Bilhah.  Even though Reuben was technically Jacob’s firstborn son, his immoral action disqualified him from receiving the blessing of the firstborn.

Simeon and Levi slaughtered the men of Shechem against the wishes of Jacob.  Even though they were the second- and third-born sons, they were disqualified from receiving the blessing of the firstborn.

Let’s read together 1 Samuel 16:11-13; Psalm 89:27; and Colossians 1:15.

The blessing of the firstborn does not always have to go to the firstborn son.  It is a blessing of preeminence.  David was the youngest of his brothers, but he was chosen to be the next king of Israel.  Jesus was not born or created because He is God.  However, the Bible calls Him the firstborn over creation because of His peerless superiority.

Let’s read together Genesis 48:14-18; Exodus 15:6; Psalm 16:11; Psalm 20:6; and Mark 14:62.

Why was Joseph unhappy with his father placing his right hand over Ephraim?  The right hand symbolized preeminence.  Joseph wanted the blessing of the firstborn to go to his firstborn son.  Manasseh was Joseph’s firstborn, so Joseph thought his father made a senile mistake.  

Let’s read together Genesis 25:13; Genesis 27:1-40; Deuteronomy 33:17; Isaiah 7:8, 7:17, 11:13; and Jeremiah 31:9.

Jacob had a prophetic vision that the tribe of Ephraim will eventually become greater than the tribe of Manasseh.  This is why he gave the greater blessing to Ephraim, despite Joseph’s protestations.

Let’s read together Romans 9:6-13.

We do not have to be literally the firstborn child in our family or even descended from Abraham.  We can all receive God’s blessing as His children and become a spiritual child of Abraham.
