Happy Duck x Percy Day!

I wanted to do something special for these two. It's not my favourite ship, obviously, but Duck was Percy's first real crush in my AU (think 'crushing on the babysitter' sort of thing)

To celebrate, I recreated a meme with them and Thomas:

Well, after many months- I'm happy to share my (rather ambitious) cover for our Final Fantasy Ladies zine: Lucia Sidera. I still can't believe the team trusted me with such an important cover. I decided to be insane and try and draw every main gal from each title and spin off (I ran out of time, so I didn't get everyone sadly). The mod team was already SO patient with me. I didn't have to do all this- but I legitimately had this vision since 2009 (and there were a LOT less gals back then). You can see from teh initial sketch layout, how many character were originally planned- but then...I went off the rails. (note, the first image is the poster version, and second is book variant)

Final Fantasy is kinda my life, let's be real- as corny as it sounds. It has been with me most of my time here on Earth. It set me upon the path I'm on now. I wouldn't be Allison without these characters, the music, the art, the stories. I won't mush too much, but this, to me, was a very special opportunity to show just how much I love this series. Getting to share that with other people in this community, whose life has been deeply touched by Final Fantasy meant a lot to me- and I hope people find there faves in this cover!

I have the remaining folded posters from the zine bundles coming in the mail, but will also be offering this as a 11x17 print soon! So much detail means it won't be coming in smaller sizes, apologies!

Anyway, it would be all too easy for me to talk about this cover and my thoughts overall but I suppose it's not overly necessary- it can speak for itself I guess! I hope you like it :)

Imagine helping Crocodile discover a new way to use his devil fruit

Before the cross guild's morning meeting

You: [watching Crocodile repeatedly thumbing the spark wheel of his sputtering lighter, attempting to light up a cigar] I have a question.

Crocodile: [cocks an eyebrow over at you for your audacity, lips still stubbornly clasped around the cigar]

You: Using your sand, how fast can you get your sand particles to move?

Crocodile: [uses his hand to show you he can move them faster than your eye can see]

Mihawk: [stops reading the newspaper to look up at you]

Buggy, the one who invited you: [looking nervously between you and Crocodile]

You: can you do that while compressing the particles?

Crocodile: [shrugs]

Mihawk: [mildly suspicious of you] Why?

You: [looks between the three men, to realize you might have fucked up, so you start back-pedaling] Oh, no, uh, I just figured if he compressed his sand while trying to circulate it rapidly, the friction would create enough kinetic energy to produce heat that was hot enough to light his cigar. I wasn't, like, meaning to offend.

Crocodile: [lifts his finger in front of him and tries what you just said, and gets it to glow red with heat]

Buggy: UHH?

Mihawk: ( = _ =)?

Crocodile: [lifts his cigar to the glowing whirl of sand pulls off the cigar, and chuckles, swirling smoke escaping his nostrils] Oh this will bring so many more possibilities to me.

Buggy: great, nice going jackass, now he's even more powerful.

You: You probably could use it to cook someone.

Crocodile: excuse me?

Mihawk: shut up, little bird, stop giving him ideas.

Crocodile: [Cages you against the couch with his arms and leans in close] Keep talking, I want to know what fucked up thing is floating around in that little head of yours.

You: [pulls away from him and averts your gaze]

Crocodile: [uses his hook to pull your chin towards him to make you look at him] Look at me when I'm talking to you.

Mihawk: [sighs loudly and leans back in his chair] Leave them alone, Crocodile.

Crocodile: [ignores them] tell me

You: if you have enough sand to encase someone, you could cook them alive.

Buggy: That's kind of scary, kid.

Mihawk: [runs his hand over his face] What the fuck.

Crocodile: [laughs and ruffles your hair after he processes your words] I like this kid, good job Buggy for finding this one.

chris is a hardened soldier who’s been through hell and understands the cost of letting emotions dictate his actions. if you were beyond saving, he’d take the burden of ending your suffering, even if it destroyed him emotionally.

veredict: chris kills you, out of love and duty.

“i’m sorry… i’ll never forget you.”

ethan winters

ethan is defined by his stubborn love and refusal to let go of the people he cares about. even if you were entirely lost, he’d keep you, believing you were still in there somewhere. he’d risk everything for the smallest chance of saving you.

verdict: ethan keeps you, no matter how dangerous or hopeless.

“we’ve been through too much for me to give up now.”

albert wesker

wesker’s love is calculating, but it’s still love in his own way. if you were infected, he’d see it as a failure on his part to protect you, though he’d never admit it outright. instead, he’d channel his guilt into trying to “save” you—not by curing you, but by enhancing you to survive the infection. even if you were completely lost, wesker would refuse to kill you, keeping you by his side and rationalizing your condition as an evolution rather than a tragedy.

verdict: wesker keeps you, convinced he can “perfect” you.

“you’re not lost—you’re becoming something greater. i’ll ensure you remain by my side, no matter the cost.”

carlos oliveira

carlos is compassionate but pragmatic enough to know when there’s no hope. if keeping you meant you’d suffer or become a danger, he’d take the painful step of ending your life himself. however, he’d struggle to forgive himself for it.

verdict: carlos kills you, but it destroys him.

“i’ll make it quick… i love you too much to let you go on like this.”

jake muller

jake’s cynicism and survival instincts would make him willing to let go if you became a threat. however, his emotional connection to you might push him to keep you, especially if you weren’t actively dangerous. he’d rationalize it as being able to protect and fix you, even if it was reckless.

verdict: jake keeps you, though he knows it’s risky.

“i’ve dealt with worse. you’re not going anywhere.”

luis serra

luis is a deeply empathetic and guilt-ridden man, shaped by his past mistakes. if you were infected, he’d blame himself and obsessively try to save you, using his scientific expertise to search for a cure. however, if it became clear that you were beyond saving, he’d struggle immensely with the idea of letting you go. his sentimental nature might push him to keep you around, clinging to the hope that he could eventually fix things, even if it was dangerous.

You: I do know him, or at least I thought I did... A little over two years ago I lived on Water 7 where I worked for an engineering firm, and had a life, and a boyfriend.

Stussy: {looks shocked and points at Rob] Was he your boyfriend?

You: Yup, but I got transferred here shortly before he tried to kill Iceberg, who is my adoptive father. We used to exchange letters, and then one day they just stopped, and then three weeks later I got a letter from Iceberg that explained everything.

Stussy: That must have come as quite a shock.

Kaku: [wakes up] what the? [looks around, before cringing away when he notices you] oh dear.

You: [glares] Is that all you have to say to me?

Kaku: Listen, it was just a job, it wasn't personal.

You: Really? Because trying to murder members of my family feels really personal to me, buddy.

Kaku: [Nods to Robin] Technically, she shot Iceberg.

Robin: I shot him the first time, and I didn't feel I had another choice because you were threatening my friends and I didn't know what to do.

You: The second time was Blueno, and then you and Rob beat Paulie, and then left both Iceburg and Paulie tied up inside a burning building!

Kaku: we did do that, didn't we...

You: not to mention Rob played with my feelings by pretending to be a loving boyfriend.

Kaku: I swear that wasn't pretended Lucci really does love~

Rob: That's enough, Kaku.

You: You can talk! Why am I surprised, everything was a lie, wasn't it?

Kaku: He was also in a coma for like a week afterward.

Rob: I figured by then you would have already had word from Water 7 of what happened, so I didn't want to rub salt into the wounds by trying to stay in your life, and that a clean cut was best for you.

You: [remembering that Iceberg had said he wouldn't be upset with you if you elected to stay with Rob] ... Where is Hattori?

Rob: what?

You: Where is Hattori?

Rob: He flew away when Stussy attacked.

You: I'll go get him...

Rob: [smirks[ thank you, I'm sure he'll be happy to see you again. Although he might not recognize you, you've glowed up since your Water 7 days. [winks]
