"How realistic are mecha, really?": They aren't, but not for the reason you're thinking of or the one adjacent to it. Trust me.

Crossposted from reddit, since people seemed to like it. Like in the thread, I am very happy to answer questions about any esoteric weirdness.

They're not becoming a possibility. Yes. I know. This sucks. But stick around. Its not for the reasons you think. Well it is, but it also isn't. You'll see.

The robot needs the technology more than the technology needs a robot.

the technologies which the robot needs will improve and alter the doctrine of every other platform

This creates a doctrinal lock-in where the potential functional space for them to exist is unmet -- that they are so far ahead, that nothing new can emerge that isn't just other platforms becoming more generalized (eg, a post-stall recovery aircraft, or a helicopter with high impact landing-gear and a rigid rotor/jet engine design to act as a surface-fighter -- a tank which walks or manoeuvres like a robot is just flat out of the question: Tanks are made to be simple-as-fuck boxes which tank hits, and shoot and acquire asap and rumours of their deaths as a doctrinal weapon are exaggerated by recent events where obsolete weapons which aren't maintained properly who's crews aren't adequately trained were fighting very clever civilians with drones)

What you consider "realistic" (5th/6th) is just as if not more unrealistic than other gens purely because of their smaller size and very bizarre relationship with the environment -- they're just both too big, and too small to make sense, sitting in a size niche which is just very weird

If such a vehicle does exist, its going to be defined by its functions rather than a humanoid appearance

we know this because specialized platforms tend to beat specialized platforms historically until specialized platforms mature and become generalized

thus, the closest you're probably going to get is some weird variation of DARPA's Ground X Vehicle Project meeting with Gravity Industry' style mobility in limited cases, hybridized with smaller robots and wingsuits, which mix manoeuvring operation styles, with some rocker-boogie mechanism elements for terrain handling: It won't be humanoid, whatever it is.

This is assuming you can magically solve the square-cube law of volume-mass which is partially negatable with certain custom topologies exceeding graphene but actually manufacturing them would be miserable work probably not even be something you can make without microgravity

Energy flat out isn't solvable with what we know about right now. Nothing with that energy density can exist that isn't going to simultaneously make for an incredible fragile, dangerous and problematic source of power given the forces involved. Cooling is also a horrifyingly unsolvable problem on this scale, as is radiation management: You can't just dump molten tungsten in emergency cooling mode - you'll not only proceed to alert everybody who has even the vaguest IRST capacity to your position, but you'll also probably set fire to the environment and cook off your own ammunition. *

Motors aren't well suited to the tasks of such bodies (its like trying to make a slingshot out of dental floss), and we don't have an effective way to turn electricity into a form of motion which corresponds with the shock absorbing and motion control qualities which are actually desirable yet

Even if we did, the actual means of ensuring it doesn't fragment every time it moves don't exist. Every time an A10C fires its main gun, the fuel lines micro-fracture and have to be replaced after it lands. Metal, when you subject it to high physical forces ends up feeling and behaving closer to how you would think of glass. You'd need a material capable of repairing itself too, atop the quasicrystalline property which again, just isn't doable, let alone simultaneously.

So in terms of our mindset going into this?

Its... Probably not happening barring a very, VERY extreme change to how we understand physics to function, or some really kick ass (and actually entirely possible) changes in how engineering achieves outcomes (which could happen if the greatest threat to the mecha didn't exist)

Combat is moving towards information dominance. 

That's drone swarms, and role modularized long range travel, and the idea of fighter beyond-visual-range combat extending out to infared search and track systems which are networked to one another, which we're already seeing in singleton weapons and their mounting strategies even on the personal scale, which DARPA is currently investigating which everybody wants to mate with the gravity industries gear for boarding ops so the most likely avenue is to scale up from people, rather than scale down from vehicles as the development pathway -- but there's probably going to be multiple pathways with competing niches once the technology becomes cheap enough.

Costing

Ultimately its down to "how much money do I have to spend to defeat something more expensive than myself?" -- because our current structure of war is defined by cost, and by making the other guys surrender by using economic, and military violence (private, and publicly funded) instead of convincing them that we (NATO members, etc) have good opinions purely because of the natural benefits of "doing as we say" (which we see with basically any conflict in the last 70 years, which are usually feigned as ideological but pretty much always about disrupting market competition, dominating markets, or controlling a pressure position in another country to achieve those two things).

This isn't because they're particularly excellent weapons, but because they're cheap relative to the strength they offer, and how we define cheap is very different to how we defined cheap 100 years ago -- both in good, and terrible ways (such is the way of history).

Mecha are kinda the ultimate boondoggle. They are very very expensive, and just don't make sense.

They're cool as hell, yes.

But they don't make sense.

The "real" reasons

If conflict some how became a meritocracy of leading by excellence rather than intimidation, and about human outcomes instead of cost outcomes, then things could change, but we don't live in that world.

Remember, violence exists to end human conflict (not to be confused with military conflict, which violence is the primary instrument of): Human conflict is when two parties oppose one another and communicate about what their goals and intentions are. Violence happens when communication stops. Communication stops, because parties cannot come to terms, or because nobody wants to be reasonable because the inherent request is unreasonable to the interests of the other party.

I'd love to say physics is the greatest threat, or maybe our concept of conflict but its not: * Its economics.

The concept of private-equity (not to be confused with venture-capital investment) is kiiiind of the dominant economic system on the face of the planet which dictates the interest of every nuclear power's actions against every non-nuclear power) is functionally dissolved, and investment models as we know them magically become better regulated OR a better economic system comes along which totally undermines private equity.

Its an economic finger-trap where most of the money that would be reinvested into people and technologies to push the world forward ends up getting swallowed up.

It also has private armies) and simulates the economy and political events in order to control them for maximum profitability. Yeah.)

We already live in Armored Core, folks.

And that economic system knows that if it gave free agents like ravens any kind of military power, it would functionally undermine itself, which is why it will never happen.

Private equity benefits from not having technology change, because its primary goal is wealth extraction. It leads to the collapse of every business you've ever seen go under, its why products undergo enshittification, which is coming for everything.

Its why the housing crisis happened, why the banking collapse happened, and its why there's an incentive to continue industrializing diseases like insulin instead of curing them.

tl;dr:

The one thing AC gets super wrong is you can either have the depressing relatable low-saturation late-stage hyper-capitalist dystopia where life is cheap on planet earth and everything terrible about South Korea times a thousand covers the whole world, and you need to have your own organs brought from you and leased back to you to lock you in to a lifetime of debt the same way everything else works...

A Black Hole in M87's Center? - March 5th, 1996.

"The center of nearby giant galaxy M87 is a dense and violent place. In this 1994 photograph by the Hubble Space Telescope, a disk of hot gas was found to be orbiting at the center of this massive elliptical galaxy. The disk is evident on the lower left of the above photograph. The rotation speed of gas in this disk indicates the mass of the object the gas is orbiting, while the size of the disk indicates an approximate volume of the central object. These observations yield a central density so high that the only hypothesised object that could live there is a black hole.   It was a cool mid Autumn morning. You sat there with the open window breezing against your flushed face and loose hair. It was an empty one-bedroom house, the cold air accompanied by the hollow walls made it eerie but relaxing. Wearing simply a baggy t-shirt and underwear you rose from the nest of a bed that formed while you slept. Although you snore, you sleep like a baby. With a head full of messy dark brown hair, a quick finger comb through your hair evens out the texture and density to some extent. Rolling out of bed, you crack your back, letting out a groan of relief, slowly easing your way out of your cozy bed. Come the fall time, the need for patrol hits its peak, most infected don’t stay out in the cold, so they tend to be the most active at the cusp of autumn.

As your eyes adjust to the light from the outside, so do your ears, the muttering of Jackson echoed through the neighborhood and led into your home. You reach for the hairbrush next to your bedside and try your best to aggressively claw out the knots left.

While you brushed and brushed your long hair, you heard the voices becoming more distinct. One specific member of the town, Ellie, became particularly known very quickly and very shortly. Her voice was raspy and stuck out quickly from the crowd; you could pinpoint it was her instantly. Not only did she just arrive a few years prior, but she was quick. With a quick tongue and a quicker fist, no one fucked with her. She was like a chihuahua, all bark and bite. Intimidating, but intriguing and sometimes weird to look at for too long. But oh did she piss you off, getting cocky and assertive in the smallest of tasks. She always insists on signing the postbooks, never shares her rations, and complains about hypothermia despite only wearing thin canvas sneakers. 

God was she the fucking worst.

Hearing all the commotion outside, you persist, throwing on a pair of jeans, a belt, and a long-sleeved black top, rolling up the sleeves to your elbows. As you get to the door, you swing on a pair of your best and only boots and slide into a pocket-ridden jacket. You searched for your lighter and handgun, striking the white lighter to double-check its usage. You then make your way out of the suburban make-shift home and easily make your way to Jackson, the city you grew up in. 

The leaves crunched below your boots as you made your way to the town center, where the majority of the town gathered that morning for the patrol assignments. Looking around you see familiar face after face, lining the circle surrounding Maria and the handful of men who surrounded her. Fortunately, you missed the entire meeting, but unfortunately as you have zero idea what the fuck you’re assigned to do. Surprisingly, Maria didn’t call you out like she usually does, by now she would've had your neck for being this casually late to a meeting like this, especially such an important one- 

“Y/n.” Maria states assertively, the loud chatting turning to a shushed mumble.

You look around trying to avoid the piercing eye contact but falling back into her stone-cold stare, it went right through you, sending shivers and goosebumps.

“Yes, ma’am?” You ask, never using such proper language when addressing someone, ever in your life, you shuttle at the look Maria gave.

Her boot steps sounded louder than they ever did before.

“This is the 5th time this month.” She barked, the surrounding crowd turning away and quickly sharing chatter with their cliques. 

“Yeah, I know, just trust me, I was in a rush, I didn’t even put my hair up,” You say, placing your hands in your pockets in the hope of hiding your anxious picking.

“I watch you stroll into the center all relaxed, you seem in no way of a rush,” Maria stated, her voice lowering as she raised a single eyebrow.

“Okay and?” Y/n mumbles, “Guarantee it wasn’t anything important.” 

She lowered her eyebrow, crossed her arms, and raised her head abruptly, “You missed patrols, you were assigned the post north-east of Kelly,” Maria’s lips curled, looking y/n up and down as she walked away to her office building, “better get packing, that’s nothing important, right?”. You could hear the smile form on Maria’s lips as she walked away.

Are you fucking kidding me? Kelly, the farthest post owned by Jackson, all because you missed one meeting? Not even just the Kelly outpost, the farthest fucking post all the way up in the peaks- oh my fucking god. 

Growing up in Jackson, you were trained for all different kinds of situations. Though you weren’t born here, it was where you learned everything you know now. Combat, shooting, hunting, gathering, and all the basics. Yeah, you weren’t always at the top of your class in everything, but you were a damn good aid. Knowing each medicine by its prefix or suffix, biology, and medicine is where you shine. Yeah, not combat, but you can survive, that’s all that matters. 

“Who am I posted with?” Y/n called out, a scoff leaving your voice as you exhaled, her eyes closed hoping for a big group where she could simply sit back and watch.

With Maria’s back still turned, she answered with a pause. “Williams, she has the experience you don’t, trust me, you won't be that screwed.” 

You stood there waiting for more people to be announced on your patrol. Nope, just Ellie. Fucking. Williams. 

With a groan of dissatisfaction, you turned around, looking through the crowds of people, with everyone holding warm mugs and staying clumped together, it was hard to find that short mother-fucker. You still couldn’t believe it, peering between each conversation, trying to find the auburn-headed girl. She was so obviously loud this morning, how could you not find her now, when you actually needed to get ahold of her. 

Suddenly, after walking around town center for a minute, you overhear a group of chatter, 

“I can’t believe Maria would pair you two up like that,” One voice echoed down an alley.

“I know- like out of all of us standing there, she picks y/n.” Another states.

“I’m fucked.” Says another. 

That was the voice. The raspy and obvious voice stood out so quickly to your ears.

You followed the group of voices, walking down a strip of self-owned stores, the in-between of the two buildings had voices spilling out of it. You walked closer, and upon turning into the alleyway,

Portal to the 5th Dimension Talon Abraxas

Fifth Density (5D) is a completely nonphysical state of existence. It functions both as a stopover zone (the “afterlife”) for departed 2D/3D/4D souls and as a native realm for 5D beings who have evolved to that density after transcending 4D. The natives of 5D seem focused on accumulating the highest wisdom and total perfection of their individuality. This is the first density that is entirely nonphysical.

My first real Bionicle OC, Makuta Cirbaroz (from Cerberus)

Despite his ominous and often menacing appearance, Makuta Cirbaroz was not a being of conquest, not even following Teridax’s rebellion against Miserix. He would often be found on his island, isolated from much of the Matoran Universe yet only a stone’s throw away from Chirox’s domain. (Specifically, southeast from the island of Visorak, near the GSR’s left 4th and 5th fingers.)

A tinkerer and Rahi-biologist at his core, Cirbaroz would frequently collaborate with Chirox following the latter’s creation of the Visorak species. Their combined efforts are to blame for the dangerous Rahi on Daxia, where they would often “dispose of” creatures deemed to dangerous to be kept in experimental space such as Cirbaroz’s island.

When Teridax assumed control of the Brotherhood of Makuta, Cirbaroz concealed himself in defiance, reconstructing himself into a form resembling a mix between canine and bovine Rahi species, inspired by Makuta Miserix’s Kanohi of Mutation.

Cirbaroz himself wears the Kanohi Mativen, Great Mask of Matter Shifting. This mask allows its wearer to select an object at will and manipulate its state of matter by separating its particles. For example, one could temporarily turn a solid into a gas and move it around, to then reform it elsewhere. The greater the difference in particle density and the longer the duration of the shift, the more energy is required from the user.

Following the death of Teridax, Cirbaroz remained in his Rahi form and migrated to Spherus Magna with many other Rahi and Matoran. Knowing of the crimes of the Makuta under Teridax’s rule, Cirbaroz rarely dared to show his true form in front of any other being, biomechanical or otherwise. Alone, however, he occasionally returns to his Makuta form to explore the jungles and conduct field research on the organic creatures of Bota Magna.

The Only Way Out is Through Greetings, I am Tala Nee, and I come in light and love, in service of the Divine and to All That Is. And yet, for those who have been doing this work for some time now, the light at the end of the tunnel can be seen. Rating all the mc powers from the strongest to least

🙌Now, I would first go ahead to say despite being the author this is only my opinion and you can view a power from an angle I don't which would rank it higher.

1st: God Mode; this shouldn't need an explanation.

2nd: Divine Arsenal and Pocket Dimension are tied; I just have a hard time thinking about how divine arsenal would land the finishing blow on PD mc without entering their pocket dimension, and once that happens I fail to see a possible scenario where they win.

3rd: Super Speed.

4th: Super Human.

5th: Time manipulation.

6th: Telepathy; 😅hear me out. I'm talking at full potential here.

7th: Necromancy; this one's a little bit tricky, cause with certain entities in your army it has the possibility of changing to number 3 on this list.

8th: Density Control

9th: Elemental manipulation.

I didn't place regeneration on the list cause it's more about not being able to die and less of a heavy hitter. I also didn't place Enhanced intellect on the list because at full potential it becomes omniscience, and depending on what is done with that omniscience the placement can vary wildly on the list.

Have you picked up and read the recent WoD 5th edition books, like blood strained love? How is this edition stacking up as they slowly add more splats? Are there any future releases you're interested in? Are there more things you'd like to see from WoD 5e that they don't have right now? Personally I feel like the concept of the loresheets was fun and interesting, but the application has been really uneven and disappointing. I'd want more clan specific sheets for some of the clans that haven't gotten as much love (like I believe there is only 1 Lasombra specific loresheet and nothing for the Tzimisce?) I'd also love to see more By Night books, especially examining places outside of the USA

I've been picking up most of the Renegade books, yes! I like V5, despite its rough start, and Renegade have chosen a middle path between the density of OPP and the aesthetic of the old ParaWW team. They're very game focused books, which I appreciate, not being an enthusiast of "lore for lore's sake" (even typing the word makes my stomach turn over).

It's nice to have a turn away from splatbooks and into transformative supplements. IF you want a dark romantic story, THEN add Blood Stained Love. IF you want overt sectarian conflict in an action thriller, THEN add Gehenna War. It's more useful as an approach than piling more into the core.

I do think they're less substantial than they could be. Blood Stained Love didn't do enough groundwork on establishing the legitimacy of romance stories and, as a result, a lot of the groggier players I know dismissed it as "not for a serious chronicle." Blood Sigils felt like a breathless gush, a glut of new powers with a context sort of folded around it. I know @friends-of-beetlejuice is way more into Alchemy than I am and found a lot of the new background on that very brain chewy, and I took more of an interest when the koldun bug got to me. They feel like what they are: optional extras for people who want more or one specific thing, not must haves to complete the One True "Canon" World of Darkness (there it goes again, bad tum! bad!)

I'm quite interested in Gehenna War, that's a chance to revisit the 1990s vibe. I'm not as interested in Crimson Gutter for myself, but I think it's exactly what the game needs right now: premade, metaplot light material to get new players and STs up and running.

As for future releases, someone badly needs to give the Tzimisce the same treatment the Hecata got: collate the ideas, work them over, rationalise the concept and build some out into Loresheets. Vicissitude is too long and fussy as a power, it needs tearing down and a lighter touch taking. A European City By Night book with a long Tzimisce chapter or two would be perfect as a vehicle for that. I'd rather see Onyx Path do it – I've ragged on Dawkins as a developer, but this is the kind of thing he was born to do, and the substance-over-style approach is what's needed here.

Generally I don't rate the By Nights – too many of them are metaplot vectors that don't care to make space for play – but the slower, colder, older, conflicts of the settled and less gun-happy European Kindred need a showcase, and another Chicago-tier book would do it.

Welcome back,

This simulated view of the large-scale structure of the universe shows the vast cosmic web of galaxies, as well as the dark, empty expanses of the cosmic voids in between.

At the very largest scales — zooming out from solar systems, stellar clusters and even galaxies — a surprising pattern emerges in nature. When you zoom out far enough that entire galaxies (each one home to hundreds of billions of stars) are just single dots of light, you'll find … a web.

Long, thin ropes of galaxies millions of light-years long. Dense, compact, massive knots of thousands of galaxies — the clusters. Broad, thick walls and sheets of even more galaxies.

The cosmic web is the largest pattern found in nature. It completely fills the universe. It's an immense, vast, almost overbearing structure, yet it appears as fragile and delicate as strands of pure silk.

And sitting among the latticeworks of the web, between the walls and knots and filaments, are the great cosmic voids. Stretching anywhere from 20 million to hundreds of millions of light-years across, these are the true deserts of the cosmos, almost entirely devoid of matter. By sheer volume, most of our universe is simply … nothing.

And when it comes to understanding the universe, "nothing" is very powerful.

Spinning a cosmic web

As vast, complex and terrifying as the cosmic web is, it has surprisingly humble origins and a pretty boring life story.

A long time ago (around 13.8 billion years before now), there was no comic web. There were no galaxies and no stars. There were just the fundamental components of the universe: dark matter, hydrogen, helium and a little sprinkling of lithium just for flavor. All this stuff was as homogenous as the milk you buy at the grocery store: pretty much evenly spread throughout the universe.

But there were tiny differences here and there. Some spots had more density. Some spots had less. And the denser spots had slightly more gravitational attraction than the less dense spots. So those heavier spots would pull on their neighbors, grow larger and develop even stronger gravity — and the process would continue.

Achingly slowly, over the course of hundreds of millions of years, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Matter flowed into the dense pockets, where it eventually coalesced into the first stars, galaxies and clusters.

That matter had to come from somewhere, so as the cosmic web grew and evolved, the voids emptied out.

Of course, the voids are not entirely empty. There are some dim, scattered dwarf galaxies floating around inside these mostly empty areas. And dark matter and some hydrogen managed to cling to life inside those empty, parched stretches. But by and large, the voids really are void. And because of this voidiness, ironically, the voids are filled with one thing: dark energy.

This is the name we give to the accelerated expansion of the universe, as well as for whatever's causing it. We don't really know what dark energy is, but our best current guess is that it has something to do with the vacuum of space-time itself; where there's vacuum, there's dark energy. So, technically, there's dark energy in the room you're in right now, hanging out in all the little pockets of vacuum between and within atoms.

But dark energy isn't very strong, so it's easily masked by the presence of pretty much anything else — matter, radiation, dirty socks in the corner, you name it.

You don't get to experience dark energy, because your environment is too full of stuff. But the voids? They're empty. There's nothing there to compete with dark energy, which means these areas are exactly where dark energy gets to play its game.

The accelerated expansion of our universe happens in the voids themselves, and these voids literally push on their surroundings, driving apart the galaxies and dissolving the great cosmic web that took billions of years to construct.

Dimensions are separations generated by the immense differences in frequency that things and people vibrate.

Have you heard of energy and how, depending on the place and the person, as well as our thoughts and emotions, everything changes? That's how it is with Dimensions.

Dimensions do not necessarily represent physical locations, although they often symbolize a difference from the place where we are

(for example, right now we are on Earth, a planet that necessarily exists in the 3rd dimension, but despite this, some people on this 3D planet are already beginning to vibrate at a frequency of the 5th dimension and beyond).

With that said, we can understand that you are not the dimension you are in, but the frequency you vibrate.

I'm saying this because there is a certain sense of separation between the physical body and the spirit (that's why when many project astral, it's as if they literally leave the physical and only transit in the astral world).

However, the separation only exists for some reasons that in the 3D we have a lot of difficulty in integrating the experiences of our spirit (Soul) with ease and, therefore, it could be very difficult to deal with the awareness that our Soul has with the immense tendency of low frequency that a 3D tends to have. In the end, everything is integrated, and the separation occurred because we became the "oil" and that's why the water (spirit) needed to be in a more separate dimension, waiting for our (re)connection, especially when we had cleaned the density of our oil, so that it could come into free contact with the water and unify with it, as it always has been and as it should be. Just an analogy for you to better understand.

Fifth dimension:

is the dimension of consciousness, where there is no separation but integration between what the Being is and what needs to improve. It is the dimension of the search for evolution. It is the dimension of the awareness that everything material is transitory and that eternity resides in the Soul, with its eternal free will to choose how to evolve.

Seventh dimension:

is the dimension of pure creativity, of the Power to Create that exists in every individual. It is the plane where the individual still lives and perceives himself as one, does not see himself separated from the other in a pejorative way but is indeed a single consciousness, individualized. However, this is the last dimension where this occurs. Because in others, the Being who reaches them will understand things from the lens that we are literally all One, living in this Unity.

Eighth dimension:

is the dimension of group consciousness. everything is done as a group. the spirit deals with group situations and seeks ascension and evolution of the Whole, its focus in this dimension is exactly this.

Ninth dimension:

It is the place where the consciousness of everything gathers, from the consciousness of planets to galaxies (Yes, all of this has consciousness. Earth, called Gaia or Mother Earth, is a living organism and has consciousness. It is so deep, wide, and vital, has its own language, and is managed by beings of high dimensions, like the ninth above it).

In this dimension, a person feels so expansive that they literally encompass everything around them. It's as if in this dimension, you are the mind of a galaxy, containing all forms of life and celestial bodies. The next dimensions, namely the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth dimensions, represent stages of Creation, let's see:

Tenth dimension:

In the 10th dimension, we find the source of Cosmic Rays (often associated with the Masters of the White Brotherhood), where new plans of creation are conceived and then sent to the next stages. Although we can maintain a sense of "self" at this level, it is different from what we are accustomed to in the third dimension. The 11th dimension holds a deep energy of Expectation, Optimism, and Hope, like the moment before creation, full of anticipation. To understand the energy that permeates this dimension, think of the moment before a sneeze or an orgasm (just an example, not implying that these events lead us to this dimension). The 11th dimension is associated with beings like Metatron and other Archangels. There are Akashic records in this system, ranging from planetary to galactic Akashic records.

Twelfth dimension:

It represents the point where all consciousness perceives itself as a part of everything that exists, without any separation. If we can access this level, we would feel completely united with the universe and the creative force behind it. From all this, we can perceive that the dimensions from the 3rd to the 12th represent, ultimately, the levels of evolution we can reach and need to achieve.

It's important to remember that discussing the Age of Aquarius does not make natives of the Aquarius sign superior to other beings of different solar signs, nor does it make them necessarily special because it's the Age of Aquarius.

Any personal distinction in the collective journey of the Aquarian Age will come from the actions and choices of the individual, not from being of a certain sign.

The Ages represent the purest qualities of the signs.

People will subvert and manifest, as we see here and there, both the good and bad characteristics of the signs. All with their free will.

Therefore, there is no superiority due to being in the Age of Aquarius, just as there was none in the Age of Pisces, Aries, or any other sign.

Shin Godzilla 5th Form capabilities (Legendary vs Shin/Resurgence)

They all would possess Shin's evolution factors

and all it's abilities would be transferred to them and evolved- (as is the case with genetic transference from parent to child)

These things can fly, shoot beams, heals

potentially display feats never seen in their parent and possibly multiply themselves. Go interstellar, invade other worlds becoming the dominant species of the universe.

Humanity didn't just save Earth,

by stopping Shin right then and there, the Yaguchi & Goro Maki himself saved life indefinitely beyond Earth.

Shin Godzilla was a threat seldom ever seen in a one-shot Godzilla film. This is why this particular Gojira is my absolute fav as someone who isn't a Godzilla fan and one of my fav monster films.

(W.G Marshall's mess of a story "Enormity" wishes it was a fraction of what Godzilla Resurgence is.)

Shin was a serious problem, because as you notice, it's frozen by the end of the film but it's not even dead.

All that sacrifice and they couldn't even kill it. The BEST they could do was stall, so imagine the uphill battle fighting THESE demons (that are still alive btw) AND fighting the original and whatever changes it does to itself again. At that point you'd need Superman, a Satellite weapon or a Turn X Gundam tier mech.

Humanity's best bet (without access to mechs) is an orbital cannon with remote drones with reflector functions. Vaporizing is the best possible counter, you have to disintegrate this thing's cells, any flesh left is a risk.

With this Godzilla, an oxygen destroyer just might give it an upgrade.

As for Legendary taking on Shin,

it depends. He only beat Ghidorah because he got help from both Humans & Mothra at the last minute and only survived MechaGodzilla (Ghidorah again) because of Kong.

In GxK he's stronger, chonkier, but it's not like they evolved his power. It's just pink and I'm guessing more hot.

He has wins but he's not the pwner people like to think he is because he keeps getting tag teams just to make out alive

(Which i like because that way he's not a boring gary stu but the problem is ppl overlook that and think he's invincible when he's not).

His most legit win in the movies is against the Mutos & the nuke the humans shot at him. Because those by proxy would kill most of his canon opponents anyway

How he'd take on Shin depends on Shins realtime tenacity, can Shin handle LG's flames.

And can Shin kill LG before he gets close, and will that matter for LG since Shin has countermeasures for close range as well. Legendary has atomic flames for breath, Shin has a blasted LASER(s).

Flames do not compare to condensed particles of radioactive/atomic energy, that are stronger in density, travel faster and can cut.

Shin's evolution won't be a factor because he can't just evolve mid-fight that fast, he retreats then comes back stronger, I can headcanon him squeezing out an upgrade during the fight but that's not canon---

oh wait 5th form was actually revealed during Shin Gojira's fight with the humans just before the freezing.

So it is canon that Shin CAN evolve mid-fight. Whoops. Not looking so good Legendary.

Jokes aside (dead serious btw), Shin 4.0 has a limit as to how much energy he/she/it can use before he overheats. Legendary does not have that limit.

That's how Legendary wins, endurance, stamina, mobility.

yet Legendary Chungus doesn't know to exploit that so it's irrelevant.. he can possibly heat up Shin with his own breath but that's probably a stretch but I don't see why internal heating would snuff out Shin's breath but external heat can't.

**But again, Shin has a LASER that can oppress Legendary before he could get halfway to close, 2 lasers, actually more than 7 lasers. Legendary is fucked if he doesn't get in Shin's face, Legendary is fat but has more mobility and can wrestle, deadass.

But if we're involving Shins 5th Forms with his original (since they're all Shin, it'd logically make no sense to omit one when they're both/all the same entity)

Shin will likely take it, that's multiple lasers cutting LG from multiple directions, flying demons which all "might" follow a coordinated hivemind, & if not they will definitely blitz Legendary for attacking their parent (seeing as they would likely possess this protective instinct since they are half human & with that human gene, they likely learn or strategize).

The 5th forms are strictly an "evolution" that resulted from 4th forms exploited limitations by the Yaguchi plan which made Shin expend his energy dry---

Meaning since these things were the answer to that defeat, the 5th forms likely do not have that weakness which resulted in their birth. (Speculation/Theory based off the evidence of the film itself)

Legendary's greatest feat is it can tank a nuke/ epi-center blast. and barely survived an Oxygen Destroyer tho it was dying after the fact, it still wasn't killed on contact (Ghidorah wasn't even phased, just sayin). That's it's greatest evidence for combat, endurance, 2nd being mobility.

And it can wrestle...

The issue is a laser has a much different effect than a nuke, a nuke reasonably can infect & burn, a laser cuts, splits, & vaporizes.

The issue is Legendary vs Shin (4th & 5th, since they're the same thing) is an uphill battle. He cannot possibly catch the 5th forms, let alone kill them.

A lucky tail swipe, maybe disorient a few with atomic breath, but I don't see Legendary competing with the Shin Jrs

And again, 5th form can likely evolve mid-combat as 4th could, or they could assemble into a new Godzilla, and vs another kaiju? Shin 4.0 will definitely adapt mid-combat itself, it birthing the 5th doesn't mean it's 4th form stops evolving, the 4th form would also adapt to a 4.1-5.5 state. Likely develop armored calluses and longer arms for melee combat or vomit an extra head or spawn a tumor that acts as a cooling chamber so he doesn't overheat.

But the 5th forms alone will develop countermeasures, if their current capabilities don't overwhelm LG Chungus

If it was Godzilla Earth? Then that's different, that oscillator wave could clobber the 5th forms easy. And Earth Gojira is metallic composed, so a laser would be moot.

But Legendary (while tough), doesn't have anywhere near as extensive or diverse a moveset as GOJIRA Earth or Shin, Legendary is going to get a Legendary fight, it's best bet is to charge, tackle Shin to the ground and just pound (since Shin's 4th is slow as shit)

yet Shin can just spam it's back lasers, or use it's tail laser, it's too dangerous in all ranges. LG likely loses to those lasers and Shins' ungodly adaptability to match Legendary during the fight itself, with or without it's 5th form.

And all of this is evident in the movie, not fans headcanon about some bullshit 6-9th forms, not concept art that i'm applying to the canon (tho they make good visuals), everything stated or theories presented are based off we learned and saw in the movie.

I recommend it, it's a solid movie.
