Last hike of the year included a little accidental off-trail adventure in Cypress Provincial Park (hike 47). Good thing @k_lovelylashes was here to guide us. #moreenthusiasmthanskill I won’t have reached 52 hikes this year (by my criteria) but that’s okay, the main reason I’m doing this is to get me out of the house even when the weather is as gray and rainy as it has been lately. #52HikeChallenge hike 22, a wonderful hike through Lynn Canyon Park in Vancouver with @martacp28! We had such fun exploring the beautiful forest and finding wee pine cones, chilin by the river, swimming in the river (very cold in case you were wondering), crossing the bridges (including a suspension bridge) and finding wee baby duckies as we walked around Rice Lake. What a beautiful day! I think we hiked about 6 or 7 miles in total. Last weekend I visited the Borea Canyon Trail again but this time I hiked up further, hence the ‘+’. This trail was a toll road built in 1870 for the logging community coming from the Twin Peaks area. At least, this is some of the info I’ve been able to gather about this trail. There is also a swamp at the trailhead that was proposed as a spot to be conserved. I don’t think that went through but at least there is a fence protecting the area. Not much to look at currently, however.
The views from up here are spectacular! I’ll definitely be hiking up here more often.
