this is one of those fic ideas i wanted to write for every ship i've ever been into so it will probably never happen but i'd like to have a silly story with 40 yo, single, lonely tommy kinard who's been down on his luck all his life - like i'm talking ridiculous levels of mom dying at childbirth, dad being terrible, horrifically unfortunate experience of the military, a series of failed jobs, a series of failed relationships, friendships never sticking for long, risks he takes always going south, somehow getting paper cuts through chainmail gloves, missing the bus while trying to avoid his daily encounter with the neighbor's dog etc. - one day opening the door of his downtrodden studio apartment to this beautiful man who stands there like a fucking angel. who looks at tommy with big apologetic eyes, red cheeks of shame, and twiddling thumbs of guilt and stutters, "so, uhm, i wish you didn't have to learn it this way but hi, i'm the guardian angel who, as it turns out, misplaced your files about four decades ago, and so uhm it just resurfaced, haha, and like yeah, i've been banished here for penance. i'll take the couch, it's fine."

I'll be honest if youre a strictly digital artist you should pick up some sort of physical hobby art. Stamp carving/needlefelting/etc. Maybe get a single carving knife and just start whittling twigs like some sort of cowboy. Having something more tactile to do with your hands can be a lot more relaxing and grounding than paper or screen art is in my experience its really good for nerves

i pulled these from a blind box then one day in the old apartment they fell behind my desk into the abyss and couldnt find it anywhere before we had to move and im still very salty. just checked the price on ebay and now im saltier

Just how Buck bakes as a coping mechanism and to avoid calling Tommy, Tommy paints and draws.

He always kept this hidden from everyone, it's his own thing not even Buck was aware of.

So, after the breakup he does it to let out his emotions, it's mostly abstract or scenery. But as the days go by the feeling of reaching out and text Ev-Buck grows stronger, but how could he contact the man whose heart he broke?

So, he keeps painting and drawing sketches and he notices a pattern: curls, blue eyes, a birthmark, that distinctive smile.

Now all he creates is a version of Buck. He stores most of it in a closet dedicated to his art, although as times goes by there's less space, and now some of them lie in his room.

He goes to sleep (if he can even) looking at them, covering and immediately uncovering the paintings over and over again.

He's had to buy new tubes and bottles of paint, since he's used most of it at this point, and he's pretty sure he's never going to get rid of the residue of paint trapped in his nails.

But he doesn't mind, not when he gets to create something so beautiful out of his own misery.

Died April 8th, 1988 (age 66), in Martinez, California

Joe Ramirez enlisted in September 1942 (age 20) in San Francisco, CA, and he trained with Easy Company at Toccoa. Holding the rank of Private, he served in Normandy, Holland, and Bastogne. He was hospitalized in January 1945, and discharged in July 1945. After the war, he was married for many years, and had children and grandchildren. When he passed away he was buried with his wife, who had passed away 11 years earlier. Further information about him is scarce, but the brief character profile in the Band of Brothers series bible describes him as Mexican-American, and his personality as "sensitive and nervous."
