Top 5 Iceman Kazansky eras
Oh my God, this is inspired.
Lessee.
In chronological order:
USNA Valedictorian and Most Valuable Player (Varsity Lacrosse and Intramural Sex) Era
Work hard, play hard. Ice did his share of grinding in high school, excelling in academics and balancing as many extracurriculars as possible, but now he's out of his family home, and he can come into his own. Between his Navy work and the extra rigors of playing Division 1 sports, as well as the natural effects of aging, Ice is going to bulk up, lose his puppy fat, and get Stupid Hot. Now that he doesn't have the confines of being a minor living with your parents, he's also going to have the opportunity to slut it up properly. I love this for him.
Top Gun Era
Waist: Snatched. Patience: Nonexistent. He's the best, he knows he's the best, and he's looking his best. Cannot stop serving cunt for a single second. This man is a 24/7 cunt buffet with a heart of gold and a smile made of actual sunshine.
Hot Shot Era
For several years after TOPGUN (probably at least a decade), Ice is going to spend his life as an active duty pilot, in demand and the best of the best. He gets to prove his mettle, hone his skills, and fuck Maverick in aircraft carriers and exotic locales all over the world. I believe they refer to these as glory days. You're doing amazing, sweetie.
Dad Jeans Era
As he ages and is promoted away from flying full time, Ice is going to be less competitive as a reflex. That razor's edge he's maintained so long is going to get sanded down, and he'll become more comfortable with his place in life and the people with whom he shares it, and be more comfortable going without that icy mask, be more comfortable showing his softness. He's going to buy some sweaters. He's going to take some vacations. Maybe he'll pick up some hobbies. He'll buy a bird feeder. He's going to go full DILF.
Growing Old Together
A well-earned retirement for the man who was one of the world's best pilots, one of the highest-ranked military leaders in the world, and an Olympic gold medalist in sex. Sweater Ice is going to enter silver fox mode. He's going to retire and relax for five fucking minutes. He's going to learn to use Do Not Disturb mode on his phone. He's going to install a porch swing on the front porch of his forever home with Maverick. He's going to read books for pleasure, savoring them slowly the way he hasn't been able to in years. He's going to join the AARP and get discounts at restaurants once he's able to eat normally again after cancer and chemo. He and Maverick are going to take long vacations together, just the two of them, doing things they've wanted to do their entire lives. It's well deserved, Admiral.

Any tips on how to create a proper schedule? I struggle a lot with time management.
Mastering Time Management: How to Create a Schedule That Works for You
Time management can be a tricky thing to master, but the good news is that with a little planning and a few smart strategies, you can create a schedule that keeps you on track and reduces your stress levels. If you’ve been struggling to get a handle on your time, don’t worry—you’re definitely not alone. Here’s how to create a proper schedule that works for you.
1. Start by Setting Clear Goals
Before you even think about scheduling, take a moment to define what you’re trying to achieve. Whether it’s finishing an assignment, studying for exams, or balancing school with extracurricular activities, knowing your goals will help you prioritize your time. Break these goals down into smaller, actionable tasks that you can tackle day by day.
2. Understand Your Natural Rhythm
Everyone has different times of day when they’re most productive. Some people are morning people, while others hit their stride later in the day. Pay attention to when you feel most alert and focused, and try to schedule your most challenging tasks during those times. Use less productive times for easier or routine tasks.
3. Use a Planner or Digital Calendar
Having a physical planner or using a digital calendar (like Google Calendar) is essential for keeping track of your time. Start by blocking out your fixed commitments like classes, work, or meetings. Then, fill in study sessions, homework time, and any other tasks. Don’t forget to include breaks and time for relaxation—these are crucial for avoiding burnout.
4. Prioritize Your Tasks
Not all tasks are created equal. Use the Eisenhower Matrix to categorize your tasks into four groups:
Urgent and Important: Do these first.
Important but Not Urgent: Schedule these.
Urgent but Not Important: Delegate if possible.
Not Urgent and Not Important: These can be minimized or eliminated.
By prioritizing your tasks this way, you ensure that you’re focusing on what really matters.
5. Break Tasks into Manageable Chunks
Large tasks can be overwhelming, leading to procrastination. Break them down into smaller, manageable pieces that you can tackle bit by bit. For example, instead of blocking out an entire day to “study biology,” break it down into specific chapters or topics to study in shorter sessions. This makes the task less daunting and helps maintain focus.
6. Set Realistic Time Blocks
When scheduling your tasks, be realistic about how long each one will take. It’s better to overestimate and have extra time left over than to underestimate and feel rushed. Start by tracking how long it actually takes you to complete different tasks, then use this data to plan your schedule more accurately.
7. Use the Pomodoro Technique
If you struggle with staying focused, try the Pomodoro Technique. This method involves working for 25 minutes, then taking a 5-minute break. After four cycles, take a longer break (15-30 minutes). This technique helps maintain focus and prevents burnout, especially during long study sessions.
8. Review and Adjust Your Schedule Regularly
Your schedule isn’t set in stone. Life happens, and things change, so it’s important to review and adjust your schedule regularly. At the end of each day or week, take a few minutes to assess what worked and what didn’t. If you find that certain tasks took longer than expected or that your priorities have shifted, make adjustments accordingly.
9. Build in Flexibility
While it’s important to stick to your schedule as much as possible, it’s also crucial to build in some flexibility. Allow for buffer time between tasks in case something takes longer than planned or if something unexpected comes up. Flexibility prevents you from feeling overwhelmed when things don’t go exactly as planned.
10. Stay Consistent, But Be Kind to Yourself
Consistency is key when it comes to following a schedule, but it’s also important to be kind to yourself. If you have an off day or something doesn’t go as planned, don’t beat yourself up. Simply adjust your schedule and keep moving forward. Remember, the goal is progress, not perfection.
11. Use Apps and Tools to Help
There are plenty of apps and tools designed to help with time management. Apps like Todoist, Trello, or Notion can help you organize your tasks and keep track of deadlines. Experiment with a few and find what works best for you.
12. Balance Work and Rest
Finally, remember that a good schedule isn’t just about getting work done—it’s also about ensuring you have time to rest and recharge. Make sure to schedule in downtime, hobbies, and social activities. A balanced schedule will keep you motivated and prevent burnout.
By implementing these tips, you’ll be well on your way to mastering time management and creating a schedule that supports your goals. It might take some trial and error to find what works best for you, but with persistence and a bit of flexibility, you’ll get there. Good luck, and happy scheduling!
Love,
Sophia

There is no question that Karlie Kloss is the ultimate achiever. Known for her work as a supermodel, you may be surprised to learn that Kloss is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and mom. And now she can add “Thorne partner” to her resume as the face of our latest global brand campaign, Find Your Way.
Kloss took some time out of her busy schedule to sit down with our team and share a bit about why she loves the brand and what the Find Your Way message means to her.
1. Thanks for taking the time, Karlie! How were you first introduced to Thorne and why do you trust us?
Certainly! I first heard about Thorne from my nutritionist and was drawn to the brand’s meticulous focus on clean, high-quality ingredients. Thorne’s dedication to quality and science is why I trust them. Their process is super transparent, which gives me peace of mind that I’m properly fueling my body.
2. What does the “Find Your Way” message mean to you and how do you embody that in your everyday life?
For me, it’s about staying curious, finding your own personal way to the healthiest and most meaningful life possible. It’s very authentic to the way I live my life because I’m constantly having to balance my variety of interests and aspirations with my daily health regimen, and overall busy lifestyle.
A lot of people know me for starting my career in fashion as a young girl, but modeling is just one facet of my career – my path has never been linear.
I went back to school, learned to code, and started Kode With Klossy, an organization to teach other young women and gender expansive youth how to code. I also consider myself an athlete. But my most important job is being a mom to my two young boys.
3. What are your favorite Thorne products?
My favorite Thorne products are PharmaGABA-100 to support better sleep, Magnesium CitraMate for overall wellness, and Vitamin C for immune support. I also love Memoractiv for brain health support and the Basic B Complex for enhancing energy. These have all made a big difference in supporting my healthy routine.
4. You love fitness! Can you talk about your passion for movement and how you found it?
It started at a young age with ballet. Ballet taught me the importance of discipline and strength. Over the years, I’ve explored various forms of exercise, from running and cycling to yoga and Pilates. Each activity offers something unique, whether it’s the meditative quality of yoga or the adrenaline rush from a run. Movement is a vital part of my life, helping me stay centered and energized.
5. You also love food! How has your approach to nutrition evolved over your lifetime?
It’s definitely changed! Growing up in the Midwest, I learned to love food from an early age and still love to indulge now. But it’s all about balance, maintaining a healthy relationship with food, and understanding what makes me feel my best.
As I have gotten older, and through my pregnancies, my relationship to my body and focus on overall wellness has become a lot more holistic. It’s not about fitting into a certain size; it’s about taking care of my body from the inside out so I can keep up with my busy life!
6. What exercise and nutrition advice do you have for busy readers?
People are always asking me how to manage a busy lifestyle. I’d say finding a routine that works with your schedule is key. Even quick workouts can make a big difference! I try to aim for consistency over perfection.
When it comes to nutrition, I recommend focusing on foods that are packed with nutrients and give you lasting energy throughout the day. And don’t beat yourself up when you indulge – enjoy what you love!
7. You’ve mentioned that you are oddly competitive with yourself about rest! Can you talk about the importance of sleep?
Throughout my teens and twenties, between school, work, traveling, late nights, and early mornings, to try and squeeze in everything I needed to – the thing I would always compromise on if needed would be my sleep.
Something changed during the pandemic when I stopped constantly working and traveling, and actually prioritized my rest. It was life changing. I have found it has helped improve my skin quality, my mood, my energy... I felt like I was suddenly more present in every aspect of my life – my work, my work outs, my relationships. It was a major wake up for me.
So now, I keep track of my sleep patterns and try to stay consistent, even when things get busy. Quality rest helps me do better in every part of my life.
8. People appreciate the importance of fueling for sports performance but fueling for mentally-taxing exercises (for example, coding) seems to fly a bit more under the radar. Can you talk about the importance of getting the nutrients you need to support your creative endeavors?
Research shows that our brains consume around 20 percent of our metabolic energy, so the idea of “brain food” is real! Nutrition and oxygen are crucial for optimal cognitive function, so I focus on foods rich in omega-3s and antioxidants. It's easy to say and harder to do, but staying hydrated, eating balanced meals, and limiting my sugar and caffeine intake help my concentration and creativity.
9. What other wellness topics or facts do you “geek out” over?
I'm a deep believer in the impact mindfulness exercises like meditation and yoga can have on your wellbeing. I'm fascinated by the science of nutrition and how different foods affect our organ function, our cellular health, and overall energy and mood. I'm also very interested in sustainable living and how it connects with personal health.
10. What insights or tips do you have for readers who want to exercise their mind?
Exercising your mental muscles is just as important as going to the gym! When I have some downtime, I love to read, and I always set aside time every day for meditation, one of my favorite mindfulness exercises.
I’m also working on learning Spanish with my kids. I’m almost fluent in French, so that’s something I wanted them to start learning while they are young so they can use it for a lifetime.

Writing Athletes
@everything.writing on IG
Whether you’re an athletic person who has won multiple awards in sport or is in training for the Olympics or someone who simply just watches sports on TV, sports might be a big part of your life. However, not everyone knows what it’s like to play sports and some of us may be a little more artsy or bookish. Here’s a helpful guide to writing athletes as a high school XC and track runner and lifter.
Sports is a big commitment. This depends on the level of course. Recreational sports might just be a few hours a week but often high school and college teams have practices 5-7 days a week. I remember in cross country and track the practices would be 2 hours after school. XC meets could be 4 hours and track meets could be 6 hours. Those training at the professional level might spend all day training.
It is sometimes hard to balance and sometimes sacrifices need to be made. This is mostly for the higher level athletes. Lots of high school athletes who compete in tournaments need to travel a lot and this means missing school and finding it hard to keep up with the work. Collegiate level athletes might have to sacrifice parties and social life to balance coursework and practices.
Training regimen is sports dependent. Playing high level sports is always a high-level commitment. However, this depends on the sport. A lot of times gymnasts have to train for 6 hours a day to improve their skills. But most runners only train 2 hours a day at max with more prehab stuff in between because we would get stress fractures if we ran 6 hours a day.
Most sports training regimens require conditioning and recovery work. Football players spend a large amount of time on the field obviously, however, they also go to the weight room to do conditioning to get strong for their sports. Runners do foam rolling to prevent injuries. Almost all athletes will have to do things that are not directly practicing their sports to stay strong and healthy.
There are high volume and low volume seasons. Training at an intense level year round is not healthy and you cannot maintain peak fitness all year round (generally, I’m sure there are exceptions for some sports). Most athletes have a peak season near the championships and offseason after the championship where they train less or even take a little break from training.
Competitions are anxiety inducing. Athletes often feel pressure to perform their best, but competition anxiety can be especially intense if there are high stakes such as the World Cups finals. Thus, it is normal to feel nervous before competitions. Most athletes try to control it, because for sports like gymnastics where balance is important, anxiety might ruin a competition. For sports like running, a fight or flight response might be helpful (provided that your body chooses flight).
Training hard is hard on your body. Oftentimes, during seasons when I’m running 40+ miles a week, I’ll never be able to get enough sleep and might have (minor!!!) aches and pains. During those periods, I’ll need a lot more food and water than usual, and a less stressful life overall. An athlete might need a little more TLC during this time.
Finally, athletics is a community and teaches wonderful lessons. Participating in sports whether at the recreational or high level is a very rewarding experience. I met a lot of my friends through sports and I’ve learned to never give up on my way. It’s also a great way to relax after a busy day.
So I hope this helped non-athletes who are writing about athletes. Conclusion: the life of an athlete is definitely tough but rewarding at the same time, but it’s all sport and athlete dependent.

10 Ways to Live a Happier Life
Happiness is often elusive for an unfortunate reason: our brains aren't wired that way. Instead, our brains have evolved to help us survive, protect ourselves, and stay safe. Sure, we have our moments of elation, as well as our periods of contentment and bliss. However, many of us are plagued by persistent negative emotions – we are simply stuck in the "blahs."
How can we bring more joy into our lives? It takes practice, just like anything else, to cultivate ongoing happiness. In some ways, we need to reset our baseline. It won't happen overnight, but here are the top 20 things you can do every day to unlock the secrets to a happier life.
1. Focus on positive thinking.
To find long-term happiness, you must retrain your brain to shift from a negative to a positive mindset. Try the following: Spend one to two minutes focusing on the positive aspects of your life. If you do this three times a day for 45 days, your brain will begin to do it automatically.
2. Rejoice in small victories.
Life is full of ups and downs, but in between we have a lot of little victories that go unnoticed. Take a moment to celebrate these small wins.
Like doing all your daily tasks
3. Strive for a work-life balance.
Work consumes much of our time, but it should not be the only thing we do. It is critical to pursue activities and interests outside of our jobs. Do you have a pastime? Are you spending time with your friends and family? Are you getting enough exercise? Creating balance in your life will reduce stress and provide you with additional opportunities to express yourself and have fun.
4. Exercise mindfulness.
Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.
5. Be creative.
The creative process is the evolution of an idea into its final form through a progression of thoughts and actions. The creative process involves critical thinking and problem-solving skills. From songwriters to television producers, creative individuals generally go through five steps to bring their ideas to fruition—preparation, incubation, illumination, evaluation, and verification. These stages were first articulated by Graham Wallas, a social psychologist and co-founder of the London School of Economics who outlined the primary stages of the creative process in his 1926 book on creativity called The Art of Thought.
6. Do what you love.
It's difficult to maintain overall happiness if you despise your job. Don't waste your best years in a job that isn't fun, even if it pays the bills. What piques your interest? What are your true interests? Focus on developing a career that motivates you and provides you with a high level of satisfaction, and your happiness mindset will skyrocket.
7. Live in the moment.
Yes, living in the moment is good. Some think that living in the moment is all about spontaneity and living life to the fullest. That’s only one perception. Living in the moment is about experiencing the world around you as it happens without injecting thought into it. The benefit of living in the moment is that there’s no stress. Stress comes from thinking. However, when we live in the present, we are free of the judgment of thoughts, allowing us to experience inner peace. There’s a sense of calm in living in the moment making life exciting, beautiful, and free.
8. Give back.
Be giving with both your time and your money. Donate to those in need. Give to those you care about. Those who give back exhibit selflessness and humanitarianism. Those who are generous with their money tend to be in good health, possibly because giving has a feel-good effect that reduces blood pressure and stress.
9. Surprise yourself.
It's difficult to be happy if you're bored or dissatisfied with your life. Feeling stimulated, interested, and a little surprised by life is part of feeling happy. So, push yourself to achieve goals that are outside of your comfort zone. Place yourself in unfamiliar or unexpected situations. Make goals for yourself and work hard to achieve them. And don't forget to have fun!
10. Stop worrying.
Constantly worrying about everything leads to toxic anxiety, a state in which your mind is consumed by negative, spiraling thoughts. Worries plague your mind, making you fearful and apprehensive about things over which you frequently have no control. We sometimes believe that if we worry enough, we will be able to prevent bad things from happening. But the truth is that when you're consumed by worry, you can't experience joy or even contentment.

Any tips for work-life balance while in med school?
Hi there! This is a long post but I hope it's helpful!
Always make sure you make time for what makes you happy, and try not to neglect your physical health. It's definitely doable to work out and maintain at least one hobby, but you have to be flexible about how often or how intensely you pursue those interests.
As a first and second year student, the main challenge is figuring out time management. A lot of my classmates conceptualized studying like a 9-5 job where they would do whatever they wanted in the evenings, have time for working out, eat well, and were very successful in their classes.
For third year, it's a mix of time in the hospital and studying for shelf exams: efficiency is the name of the game. It gets easier as the year goes on. I recommend doing UWorld during your day at the hospital, since you will have some down time between seeing patients, rounding, and teaching sessions if you're inpatient (on outpatient, I recommend doing UWorld on your lunch break). That way you can relax when you're done for the day.
For fourth year, I don't really have advice yet, other than try to do something fun on your day(s) off during crunch time in the summer while on sub-Is/away rotations/prepping your residency application. When things slow down during the second half of the year, I'm planning at least one or two vacations!

This is only part one. There will be more coming soon.

Other Stuff I have written: Link
General
1. Marianna [The female reader] grew up in a rather wealthy family, the second eldest of four children. Often left in the care of nannies or staff due to her parents busy, social and political lifestyle.
2. She grew up in a rather opulent mansion, surrounded by art, history, and a collection of rare and macabre artifacts. The mansion, passed down through generations, housed a vast library that became Marianna's sanctuary and escape from the stifling social expectations of her family.
3. As a child, Marianna displayed an early fascination with the macabre and the mysterious. She was drawn to stories of mythical creatures, ancient folklore, and tales of darkness and death. This fascination led her to immerse herself in literature, studying the works of authors like H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and Bram Stoker, which further fueled her interest in the unknown and the supernatural.
4. Marianna has a son, Luka Volkov, born when she was in her early twenties when she was dating Mikhail Ivanov, a renowned Russian artist. Despite their passionate relationship, they ultimately grew apart due to their conflicting personalities and ambitions. Marianna was dedicated to her studies and art, while Mikhail was often preoccupied with his own career. After their separation, Marianna took full custody of Luka, and though she adores her son, she is also fiercely protective of her independence and personal space.
5. Luka is deeply important to Marianna, and she does her best to balance her responsibilities as a mother with her own pursuits. She instills in him a love for art, literature, and critical thinking, nurturing his intellectual curiosity. Despite being emotionally reserved, Marianna cherishes the moments she spends with her son, and their bond is one of mutual understanding and respect.
6. Her second born is a girl, name Masha Volkova born in 2003, while she was in a rather brief relationship with Arthur Smith. Which made Masha is a Russian-American, born in the United States. Marianna's relationship with Arthur was passionate but short-lived, and they eventually went their separate ways. However, Marianna maintains a cordial relationship with Arthur and is actively involved in Masha's life, despite the distance between them.
7. She bought her home in Baltimore, Maryland and relocated there with her children, Luka and Masha, after accepting a position as a professor at a prestigious university. Baltimore's rich history and dark allure appealed to Marianna, making it the perfect place for her to delve into her academic pursuits while still indulging in her fascination with the mysterious and macabre.
8. Luka was initially resistant to the move, he quickly adapted to his new surroundings. He is 17 and Masha is 10 years old when the move occurred. Despite the busy schedule, she made sure to enroll Luka in a reputable school and support his interests and aspirations. Masha was still in primary school so she took on the responsibility of homeschooling her for a brief period until she found the right school for her.
9. Whenever Luka wants to have his nails painted, Marianna gladly does it for him and often stating, "Which colour did you want to go with this time?" Which is usually met with excitement from Luka, as he enjoys the bonding time with his mother. Marianna takes pride in breaking traditional gender norms and encourages her children to express themselves authentically.
10. If Luka wanted to wear a dress, she would often make sure they were custom made to fit his tastes, and would support his decision without hesitation. Marianna firmly believes that individuals should be free to express themselves and embrace their true selves, regardless of societal expectations or gender norms. No expense was ever left to ensure her children felt loved, accepted, and supported in their individuality.

𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⸻ 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐤𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫 𝐨'𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐞
if you’re hearing SCRAWNY by WALLOWS playing, you have to know ALEKSANDR “ALEKS” O’KANE (HE/HIM/HIS; CIS MAN) is near by! the TWENTY-EIGHT year old WILDLIFE REHABILITATOR has been in denver for, like, TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS. they’re known to be quite EXCITABLE, but being CLEVER seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble DYLAN O’BRIEN. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those HALF A DOZEN EMPTY FOUR LOKO CANS ON A COFFEE TABLE, SUBCONSCIOUS FIDGETING, FURRY COMPANIONSHIP, and CRYING AT THE END OF THE NOTEBOOK vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the RIVER NORTH ART DISTRICT long enough!
hello, i'm lauryn! i'm twenty-two years old and currently reside in the cst timezone. my preferred pronouns are she/her/hers. i'm looking forward to writing with everyone! below is some information about aleks.
✗ ⸻ BACKGROUND
[ ! ] TRIGGER WARNING : unplanned child, adhd, medication, parental loss (maternal), car accident, anxiety & panic attacks, coming out, breakup
0 0 1 ⸻ aleksandr was born in denver, colorado, to two loving parents. he was an “accident”, but was cherished nonetheless. john and johanna were young and in love, ready to take on the world with a baby carrier in hand. aleks made this an easy task for them; he was a joy as a baby.
0 0 2 ⸻ come toddler age, though, aleks was a bit of a terror. if he was tasked with doing something that didn’t interest him, he simply wouldn’t do it. most times, he would actually forget all about it. chores were a concept that were not understood by aleks, and his parents eventually gave up trying to implement them into his life.
0 0 3 ⸻ always the peculiar, excitable child, aleks had trouble making friends early on in school. his parents grew to understand his mannerisms pretty well, but his teachers and peers were not as patient with him. he would get into trouble often, despite the fact that he maintained decent grades. aleks was gifted, but teachers noted that he “didn’t apply himself”. it wasn’t until the fifth grade that his parents really took note of his behaviors, and had aleks evaluated.
0 0 4 ⸻ as it turns out, he had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, better known as ADHD. his diagnosis was a relief to his parents, who finally had answers for his mannerisms. aleks, however, couldn’t really care less. he was very much absorbed in his own thoughts and his own world. he began cognitive behavioral therapy and started taking stimulant medication around age eleven. it took some trial and error, but john, johanna, and aleks found a treatment plan that worked well for their needs.
0 0 5 ⸻ aleks went into middle school with far more tools at his disposal, and was able to perform better in school. homework wasn’t as much of a drag, though he still often avoided assignments when he could. his interests took up all of his free time. aleks was always interested in fantasy, the ocean, and animals, and would spend much of his time finding out everything he could about them. fantasy interested him because it was multifaceted and was pretty much what you made it. the ocean interested him in the way that no one really knows much about it because the vast majority of it was unexplored. that idea both exhausted and fascinated him; he had grandiose ideas of exploring it himself, but he didn’t think that was a burden he really wanted to take on. one thing stuck out to him about animals, though: they were constantly evolving.
0 0 6 ⸻ aleks struggled with monotony, so the evolutionary traits of animals and their behaviors fascinated him. while there were constants between species, he figured that field of work would have very little repetitive, boring moments. whenever his parents were willing and able, aleks would insist that they took him to the zoo, sanctuaries, exhibits, the mountains… wherever he could observe the animals. his parents also allowed him to volunteer for certain programs that allowed him to work with animals, which was helpful because aleks benefited from hands-on work. he also kept notebooks, writing down what he could about his findings because he was likely to forget them by the next day.
0 0 7 ⸻ aleks’s childhood was a curious one void of hardship. he made some friends and was so caught up in what mattered to him that on the occasion that people were rude to him or excluded him, he paid no mind to it. sometimes, it was aleks who was the troublemaker, anyway; he wasn’t known to have a filter.
0 0 8 ⸻ it wasn’t until high school that aleks experienced his first tragedy: the loss of his mother. johanna’s car was t-boned in an accident in which she was the only fatality. the news of this crushed aleks. in his world, there was no tragedy or death; he hardly understood the concept. even his great grandparents were still kicking. it brought him into a fairly dark and confused state.
0 0 9 ⸻ his mother was his best friend, and portrayed a sort of innocence in aleks’s mind. his father took over parenting responsibilities that she had previously manned, but aleks could tell that something was different in his father. he rarely cried around aleks, insisting that things were going to be okay, but aleks could tell that things were unlikely to ever be okay for his father again. in places where aleks could pick up the slack, he did. his father would try to object in these instances, saying aleks need not worry about them, but aleks would insist that it was no big deal.
0 1 0 ⸻ he appeared strong for his father, and vice versa, even though both needed to come together and mourn as a now two-person family. there was a year of increased silence and sad smiles and weary movements until the anniversary of johanna’s death came along. it seemed that the two couldn’t go on pretending everything was okay, it wasn’t. everything had changed, forever. when aleks caught sight of his father sobbing on the couch, he joined him and the two finally began grieving together. johanna’s death was more of an open discussion now, something that was acknowledged. they honored her as best as they could, taking the time to be sad but also the time to smile. smile for the life that she had lived, smile for the days that they still had together.
0 1 1 ⸻ by the time aleks graduated from high school, he was much more rooted in reality. his interests still occupied much of his time, but he segued well into adulthood with the help of loved ones. he had come out as gay in his senior year, which most of his family and friends were indifferent toward. aleks had never been a super social person, so no one had ever really questioned whether he was dating or not. he had always seemed so consumed in his own world. aleks had been aware of his sexuality for some time, but no one had ever really caught his eye romantically, so he had decided not to make it public knowledge until he felt comfortable saying it aloud.
0 1 2 ⸻ the year that aleks graduated was a tough one for him. perhaps it was the monumental change and the loss of his mother catching up to him, but he developed anxiety and struggled with panic attacks. therapy helped him through these difficulties, as did supplementary medication, but some traumas just couldn’t be healed. this would also be the year that aleks entered his first relationship.
0 1 3 ⸻ as it would come to be known, aleks struggled in romantic relationships. he had a tendency to be inattentive to his partners, and found difficulty in sacrificing his free time for others. it wasn’t that he didn’t care or wasn’t attracted to them, aleks was just a little clueless. perhaps he just hadn’t met the right person, he would tell himself. either way, aleks has trouble settling down with anyone.
0 1 4 ⸻ zane and aleks dated for around a year, and experienced a lot of hardships together. zane with his family disowning him, and aleks with his panic attacks and processing his trauma. they were each other’s first loves, and that almost always comes with messy drama. though both of them seemed to cling to the relationship, they both eventually realized that it wasn’t right for either one of them and went their separate ways. after this relationship, aleks had one more fling and has now been single since the age of twenty-five, sticking to more casual hookups when the need for connection arises.
0 1 5 ⸻ aleks enrolled in university as a fisheries and wildlife major with a concentration in zoo animal care, as well as wildlife ecology and management. many of the required classes for his concentrations were the same, and aleks wasn’t quite sure which one he was more interested in, so he chose to do both; he figured it would also give him a bit more flexibility career-wise. he made some new friends, who are still to this day family to him. their adventures and sentimental moments were the silver linings to his early twenties. aleks also joined a fraternity in college and spent one year in his frat house before getting his own sketchy one bedroom apartment.
0 1 6 ⸻ despite some struggles keeping a tidy space and forgetting to grab his mail for two months at a time, aleks was a relatively stable adult. he had a dungeons and dragons group that met weekly, he often hiked with friends, he started a podcast, and he wasn’t afraid to ask for help and support when he needed it. he made a living as a bartender, and maintained a wonderful relationship with his father. the two would meet biweekly for some necessary father-son time. aleks began to blossom in his adulthood; his emotions seemed to stabilize a bit more, and he possessed a sort of sureness of who he was.
0 1 7 ⸻ in true aleks fashion, he also managed to finish college at the age of twenty-five. it took him seven years, but he had finally done it and was proud of himself for getting his degree before the ten year mark. a year and a half before obtaining his degree, he began working at the denver zoo. he was aiming more for a sanctuary placement, but figured any foot in the door would be helpful. plus, he needed a change from bartending. he had been volunteering there for years, so he was trusted with a job as a docent.
0 1 8 ⸻ college graduation was a bittersweet thing for aleks. now, he had to really buckle up and take control of his life. the denver area, however, wasn’t a hotspot for wildlife rehabilitation. he ended up having to accept a job that was almost half an hour away, but he remained in denver. he wasn’t quite sure when he would be ready to leave the denver area. there was a small desire there to skip out, but he was scared to be farther away from his loved ones. they would encourage him to go on, get out of here, but he just wasn’t ready yet. the reality was that aleks wasn’t ready to lose more people. even if he would only have to drive an hour or two to see them, it felt like too much. so, for now, he’s taking it slow. he’ll know when he’s ready to skedaddle… right?
0 1 9 ⸻ fast forward to now and aleks’s sense of security remains rattled. he continues to work through his anxiety and trauma in therapy, and is working at an animal sanctuary just outside of denver, though he remains firmly planted here. aleks specifically works with the intake, care, and release of bears, and adores his job (and his furry companions). he moved into a rino artist’s alley apartment not long ago, and has been in the process of slowly tricking it out. his podcast has a decent little following (around 300 listeners per episode), and he has plenty of friends to lean on in times of hardship.
tldr ; a denver native who has adhd and makes a living rehabilitating bears. kind of an asshole but very loyal to the people he loves. lost his mom when he was a teenager and has issues with anxiety, but is working hard in therapy. has a podcast and is pretty much just chillin nowadays wondering if he’ll ever leave denver
✗ ⸻ PERSONALITY
0 0 1 ⸻ aleks is pretty much just a walking meme. he’s only really had one bad thing happen to him, though, to his credit, it was a monumental tragedy. he tends to joke about most things, but part of that is just a coping mechanism to balance out his anxiety. aleks is perpetually scared of just about everything, though he does attempt to mask that. it’s not that he can’t be vulnerable, but it is a little uncomfortable for him to let his guard down and let others really see what’s going on there. it happens sometimes when he breaks down and can’t really control it, or when he needs to comfort others, but other than that, he doesn’t readily reveal what he’s feeling. he suspects that other people have caught onto this.
0 0 2 ⸻ he’s pretty much just a big ole jokester. he thrives off of pulling small pranks on other people and making dumb jokes. quite frankly, he thinks he’s hilarious. aleks exudes a strong confidence, though there is some insecurity there. despite a never-ending stream of dad jokes, he is far from being the dad friend. if anything, everyone else would have to take care of him on a wild night out. he isn’t necessarily a happy-go-lucky social guy around strangers, or even loved ones. honestly, aleks can be kind of an asshole. he lacks a filter and isn’t afraid to let you know what he thinks or if he has a problem. in fact, some would call him rather argumentative. basically, he’s a lot. he’s prone to being self-centered, but when it comes down to it, aleks would do pretty much anything for the people he cares about. he possesses a strong loyalty, possibly fueled by his fear that they will no longer be around one day.
0 0 3 ⸻ aleks does have combined type adhd. he is medicated for it and has some strong and effective strategies for navigating his weak points, but he can be all over the place (in a relatively controlled manner). he tends to be fidgety and sometimes over-interested in certain topics or conversations. aleks can be really chatty or appear entirely lost in thought. a consistency in his personality is that he is incredibly impatient, and can make others nervous in some situations as a result. he doesn’t always interact well with others in the way that he can struggle to understand the consequences of his words, but that’s usually fairly evident from the start of talking to him. aleks is a pretty analytical guy, but he doesn’t really retain any information, so his analyses are often useless. he will, however, remember if you wrong him or if you’re just generally an asshole. on the off chance that you meet an unmedicated aleks, he may seem a bit more chaotic. his forgetfulness is amped up and his brain, which usually has seven tabs open on medication, will now have around twenty open and two of them are playing audio.

Tips for Working Moms: Balancing Work and Family Life
For working moms, balancing career demands and family responsibilities can feel like a daily juggling act. However, with the right strategies, you can create a more manageable balance, reduce stress, and enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Here are some practical tips that can help you achieve harmony between work and family life.
1. Set Realistic Goals and Priorities
Start by identifying your top priorities for both work and family. Focus on what truly matters and avoid overcommitting yourself. Break down large tasks into manageable steps and tackle them one at a time. This way, you’ll feel less overwhelmed and more accomplished each day.
2. Establish a Support System
Seek support from your spouse, family, and friends to help with daily responsibilities. Sharing responsibilities lightens the load and strengthens family bonds. If possible, consider hiring help for tasks like cleaning or cooking, so you can focus on spending more time with your children and taking care of yourself.
3. Set Boundaries Between Work and Family Time
Create a clear separation between work and family life to help you stay present in each area. When you're at home, try to avoid checking work emails or messages unless necessary. This will allow you to give undivided attention to your family and recharge for the next workday.
4. Delegate Tasks and Communicate
Don’t hesitate to delegate responsibilities at work. Communicating with your team and family about your schedule will also help them understand when you’re available and when you need time for focused work. A little coordination goes a long way in reducing misunderstandings and building a balanced routine.
5. Invest in Quality Childcare
For working moms with young children, having a trustworthy preschool or daycare can make a huge difference. Bachpan Play School, one of the top preschools in India, is an excellent choice for providing a safe and stimulating environment for your child. Known for its engaging curriculum and caring staff, Bachpan Play School focuses on early childhood development, allowing you to feel at ease knowing your child is in good hands.
6. Schedule "Me Time" for Self-Care
Balancing work and family can be exhausting, so it’s essential to set aside time for self-care. Even if it’s just 15–20 minutes a day, dedicating time to activities that rejuvenate you—like reading, exercising, or meditating—will help you maintain a positive mindset.
7. Embrace Flexibility and Patience
Balancing work and family life can sometimes require flexibility. Accept that some days will go smoothly, while others may not. Adjust your schedule when needed and approach each day with a positive outlook. Remember, being a working mom is a journey, and it’s okay to adapt as you go.
Conclusion
Achieving work-life balance is a continuous process for working moms, but with these tips, you can create a more harmonious routine that benefits both you and your family. Making a well-informed decision about childcare, like enrolling your child in Bachpan Play School, can give you peace of mind and support your child’s development. Prioritise, plan, and remember to take one day at a time—small steps lead to lasting balance and fulfilment.

Work-Life Balance for Working Parents: Strategies to Manage Career and Family
Balancing the demands of a career and family life can be challenging, especially for working parents. With the responsibilities of work and raising children, finding a harmonious balance often feels like a juggling act. However, achieving work-life balance is crucial for maintaining mental health, job satisfaction, and family well-being. This guide provides practical strategies for working parents to manage their careers and family life effectively.
1. Set Clear Priorities
One of the first steps to achieving work-life balance is setting clear priorities. Understanding what matters most can help parents make better decisions about where to focus their time and energy. Here’s how to set priorities:
Identify Core Values: Determine what is most important to you and your family. This could be spending quality time with your children, advancing in your career, or maintaining personal health.
Establish Family Goals: Set realistic and achievable goals for your family life, such as having dinner together a certain number of nights per week, attending school events, or planning family outings.
Align Work Goals: Align your work goals with your family priorities. Communicate with your employer about your priorities and seek ways to meet work expectations while accommodating family needs.
2. Create a Flexible Schedule
Flexibility is key to managing work and family responsibilities. Many employers offer flexible work arrangements, and taking advantage of these can help parents balance their commitments:
Flexible Work Hours: If possible, negotiate flexible work hours that allow you to start and finish work at times that suit your family’s schedule. For example, starting work earlier in the day to be home for after-school activities.
Remote Work: If your job allows, consider working from home part-time or full-time. Remote work can reduce commute time and provide more opportunities to be present for your family.
Compressed Work Week: Some companies offer compressed work weeks, where employees work longer hours for fewer days. This arrangement can provide an extra day off each week for family time.
3. Set Boundaries Between Work and Family
Maintaining clear boundaries between work and family time is essential for achieving work-life balance. Without boundaries, work can easily spill over into personal time, leading to stress and burnout. Here are some tips to set boundaries:
Designate Work Hours: Establish specific work hours and stick to them as much as possible. Communicate these hours to your employer, colleagues, and family members.
Create a Home Workspace: If working from home, set up a dedicated workspace that is separate from common family areas. This helps create a physical boundary between work and home life.
Turn Off Work Notifications: Turn off work-related notifications on your phone or computer during family time. This reduces the temptation to check emails or respond to work messages.
4. Prioritize Self-Care
Working parents often put their own needs last, but prioritizing self-care is vital for maintaining the energy and mental clarity needed to manage both work and family life. Self-care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Here’s how to incorporate self-care into your routine:
Regular Exercise: Make time for physical activity, even if it’s just a short walk or quick workout. Exercise can reduce stress and boost mood.
Healthy Eating: Eating a balanced diet provides the energy needed to tackle daily challenges. Plan meals ahead of time to avoid relying on fast food or unhealthy snacks.
Adequate Sleep: Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Sleep is essential for overall health and helps improve focus, mood, and decision-making abilities.
Take Breaks: Schedule short breaks throughout your workday to relax and recharge. Use these moments to step away from your desk, stretch, or simply breathe.
5. Communicate with Your Partner
For parents in a partnership, open communication with your partner is crucial for managing work and family responsibilities. Working together as a team can make balancing work and family life easier:
Share Responsibilities: Divide household and parenting duties based on each person’s strengths, preferences, and schedules. Sharing responsibilities helps prevent one partner from feeling overwhelmed.
Regular Check-Ins: Schedule regular check-ins with your partner to discuss any challenges, workload distribution, and upcoming events. This ensures both partners are on the same page and can plan accordingly.
Support Each Other: Offer support and encouragement to each other. Recognize the efforts both partners are making to balance work and family, and express appreciation.
6. Utilize Support Systems
No parent can do it all alone, and there’s no shame in asking for help. Building and utilizing a support system can provide much-needed relief and balance:
Family and Friends: Reach out to family members or friends who can help with childcare, errands, or simply offer a listening ear. Having a support network can alleviate stress and provide peace of mind.
Childcare Services: Consider using professional childcare services, such as daycare centers, babysitters, or after-school programs. Reliable childcare allows parents to focus on work without worrying about their children’s safety.
Parenting Groups: Join parenting groups or online communities where you can share experiences, gain advice, and find support from other parents facing similar challenges.
7. Make Time for Quality Family Activities
Quality time with family is essential for building strong relationships and creating lasting memories. Here’s how to make the most of family time:
Plan Family Activities: Schedule regular family activities that everyone enjoys, such as game nights, movie nights, or outdoor adventures. These activities can help strengthen family bonds and provide a break from work.
Be Present: When spending time with your family, be fully present. Put away work-related devices and focus on engaging with your loved ones. Active listening and meaningful conversations foster connection and understanding.
Celebrate Milestones: Celebrate important milestones and achievements, both big and small. Whether it’s a birthday, a promotion, or a school achievement, celebrating together creates a sense of togetherness and joy.
8. Seek Employer Support
Many companies recognize the importance of work-life balance and offer resources to support working parents. Don’t hesitate to seek support from your employer:
Parental Leave: Utilize parental leave benefits if available. Parental leave provides time to bond with a new child and adjust to the demands of parenthood without the stress of work.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs): Many employers offer EAPs that provide counseling, legal assistance, and other resources to help employees manage personal and family challenges.
Flexible Benefits: Inquire about other flexible benefits that may be available, such as childcare assistance, flexible spending accounts, or wellness programs.
Conclusion: Striking the Right Balance
Achieving work-life balance as a working parent is a continuous process that requires effort, planning, and flexibility. By setting clear priorities, creating a flexible schedule, setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, communicating with your partner, utilizing support systems, making time for quality family activities, and seeking employer support, working parents can find a balance that works for them.
Remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to work-life balance. Each family’s needs and circumstances are unique, so it’s important to find strategies that align with your values, goals, and lifestyle. By taking proactive steps and seeking support, working parents can successfully manage their careers and family life, creating a fulfilling and balanced life for themselves and their loved ones.

Buy School Graduation Gowns in the UAE: Tips for a Perfect Fit
Graduation day is one of the most important milestones that a student gets to go through, in his or her academic career. This is the culminating event of years of relentless hard work and commitment. It is all about celebration and remembering those moments once cherished and will be cherished further; when a student steps into the next important stage of life, he has to make sure that he looks at his best. If you're in the UAE and looking to Buy School Graduation Gown UAE, ensuring that it fits perfectly is crucial.
1. Know Your Measurements
Before you begin your search for graduation attire, you will want to know your precise measurements. Most graduation attire is sized by height and weight, so this will definitely make it a great deal easier when selecting your graduation attire. Measure your length from head to toe using a measuring tape while standing straight. Also, take your bust and waist measurements because some gown styles may require those. Having these measurements accurate will help you in selecting an outfit that fits your body type and looks great on you.
2. Determine the Outfit Length
Graduation gown length is one of the most important factors to note for a perfect fit. It should reach approximately between your knee and mid-calf, depending on your height. An outfit that is too long may get you tripping over it, while an extra short one may look out of balance. As you try on an outfit, make sure the length fits and you can comfortably walk in it. In case you are buying online, refer to the size chart provided by the seller so you can choose the right length.
3. Select the Right Fabric
The feel of the graduation attire can completely make a difference in its fit and comfort. Common fabrics for graduation robes include polyester, satin, and cotton blends. Polyester gowns are lightweight and durable, thus preferred for commencement ceremonies. Silk robes give one a more luxurious touch, although it is not as breathable. Take note that the UAE may be hot, so keep that in mind when choosing a fabric. When you Buy School Graduation Gown UAE, raise your arms and move them around to ensure that the sleeves allow for comfortable movement while maintaining an appropriate length.
4. Check the Outfit's Fit at the Shoulders
The shoulders are an important area where the aggressiveness of the graduation outfit can make quite a difference. The outfit should sit easily across your shoulders, neither too tight nor too loose. Assuming the suit is too tight at the shoulders, it may constrain your movement, while a suit that is too loose looks sloppy. When trying on the suit, make sure the shoulder seams fall in line with your natural shoulder line. This will enable the suit to drape well and present you with a streamlined look.
5. Pay Attention to Sleeve Length
Sleeve length is also a very relevant factor when choosing graduation attire. Specifically, it has to be long enough to reach your wrists but not beyond. Long sleeves would get in the way of your hand movements in case you receive your diploma. On the other hand, too short sleeves may look ungainly. While making an attempt at the attire, raise your arms and move them around to ensure the sleeves account for comfortable movement without sacrificing length.
6. Consider the Color and Style
Graduation gowns come in a variety of colors and styles, based on the conventions and choices of your institution. Besides being fit, you should be cognizant of the color and style of the gown. Most colleges have specific designs for graduation gowns, so be sure to select one in line with what is specified by your college. Moreover, a few gowns include additional elements like hoods, bands, or ropes, adding extra elegance to your outfit. Choose a fashion that describes you and the one you will be proud of when going up the stage.
7. Try the Outfit with Your Graduation Accessories
While choosing a graduation outfit, it is very important to think about how it will look with your graduation accessories like the cap, decoration, and tool. These are parts of your attire on that graduation day, and they should look good on it. Try the outfit with the accessories to ensure they all work well together. Take a look at how the cap fits on your head and how it wraps over the outfit. You will now have an overall view of your graduation-day look.
8. Sop Early
One of the best tips for ensuring a perfect fit is to shop early when you plan to Buy School Graduation Gown UAE. This gives you more than ample opportunity to try your hand at different sizes, cuts, and types without feeling rushed. Assuming that you're ordering online, early shopping also allows for any necessary exchanges or alterations. Early shopping ensures you have ample time to find the perfect fit and get in those alterations expected to get just the right fit.
Conclusion
Buying a school graduation gown in the UAE is an exciting part of preparing for your big day. By following these tips, you can ensure that your gown fits perfectly, allowing you to feel confident and comfortable as you celebrate your achievements. Remember to take accurate measurements, consider the gown’s length, fabric, and fit, and try it on with your graduation accessories. With careful planning and early shopping, you’ll be ready to shine on your graduation day, making it a memorable occasion that you’ll cherish for years to come.
