Did he talk much about the Beatles?

All the time.

Did he feel like it was a weight on him?

No, he absolutely loved it. I used to have a little Sony blaster that I would put up… It’s funny because now I do my fucking mix through a Bose wave radio, but then it was a Sony blaster. A fairly good one. And if you sounded good in there, everything was right. And one day in a few moments when nothing was going on, he would put on WNYW FM and listen to the radio. He loved to listen.

And when a Beatles song came on the radio, he would tell you everything about that session. Everything that happened. He never had a problem talking about how much he loved that band. And how much he loved those guys. He was a little annoyed at George, because George had written a book and he didn’t mention John much in the book, at that time. But he felt that that would come around.

But his love for that band. Phenomenal. It was great. It was what you hoped he would be like.

He loved them as much as everyone loved them. Did he ever discuss why they never reunited, or why they had those near-misses? Well you know he and Paul were already in the process. This Ringo album I think was going to be big.

That could have been a big stepping stone?

Yeah.

Did you ever see them together, any of them?

No. But I know that Paul was up at the Dakota.

Did they jam together?

I don’t know. All I know is that Paul was preparing stuff for Ringo’s album.

WHY in Year 4 of Canon Destiel am I still seeing posts like "If they didn't want us to see it as gay, they shouldn't have [x surface-level observation]"??? why the self-doubt you can do better than that!

if they didn't want us to see it as gay, they wouldn't have made it canonically gay! they wouldn't have kept it canon no walk-backs for these four years running! they wouldn't have followed it up with A Supernatural Romance spinoff where everyone is bi because Dean is and whose creatives all said lol yeah our parallel structure and queer rep support Destiel, and Jack knows what's next! people figured out and settled this in like 2019, our job NOW is to point and laugh at the regressive weirdos online who think they're doing something by erasing queer text and the creative fight against censorship for it

wip wednesday

In the drifting silence of his empty apartment, Shen Wei presses the door shut, turns the lock. And then, like his body was waiting until he was alone, his legs give out. Shen Wei tips/topples against/into the wall, sinks down to sitting on the front mat/in the entryway. He sits there for a long time, curled into himself with his arms around his knees. The whole time, his body braced for the sound of Zhao Yunlan’s door opening, the sound of footsteps crossing the hall. Waiting, again, for Kunlun to return to him.  But no sound comes from outside his door. At last, Shen Wei tips his head back against the wall, lets out a soft, streaming sigh. The sound trembles in the still air. It’s the closest he’s come to crying in years, that he can remember.

from the up draft of the answer fic. im cutting it veryyyyyy close to the deadline this time ahahaha (nervous!) but the writing is going relatively smoothly (knocks on wood) and i think it'll turn out pretty delicious!!
