4x01 The Six Thatchers

It was an amazing episode. It kept me on my toes form start to finish. They were all on point. Benedict especially.

So the real issue besides Moriarty´s game will be the rift between John and Sherlock. That is very interesting. And really save killing the baby I can’t think of anything else that would cause John to shut Sherlock out completely.

But I have to say that I don’t like how they handled this whole Mary thing. It felt as though they have written themselves into a corner with her and had no idea how to get out. They probably planned to kill her from the start. And I’m mostly OK with that. I just really dislike how they handled the reveals about her past. They made her to be this almost superhuman and in the process they tore everyone around her down. And that is just weak writing. If a character can’t stand on its own, then there is something wrong with them. And you need to adjust the writing of the character. Not all the rest of the characters.

I love the interactions between John and Sherlock, few as they were. And now that this is all done, let’s see how it will shake up. Shall we?
