Faustus nearly broke a foreleg today. 

Leo didn’t see the hole in their path when he’d urged Faustus into a gallop. All his focus was on the thunder of hooves, the wind whipping at his clothes, the entire world falling away to streaks of green and brown and blue. 

Then his watercolor world went still before slanting sharply to one side. Faustus whines—a high, pain-filled noise—and they were both sent crashing into the grass. After blinking away his daze, he’d managed to wiggle out from under his beloved horse. Another soft whine broke through the stillness at the action, twisting Leo’s heart further. 

He coaxed Faustus to remain lying down, great black flanks rising and falling like a bellows. Gloves were removed and tossed unceremoniously to one side. Gentle hands ran up each leg, applying gentle amounts of pressure. 

There was no break, in the end. A torn ligament in the left foreleg, Leo suspected, guiding Faustus to stand. It was a slow return to the monastery with anxiety clawing at his heels. They had hardly passed the threshold before he shouted for assistance. 

Now, Leo runs a brush over Faustus’ hide, a trail of soapy water left in his wake. The horse munches happily on an apple, injury healed like it never happened. A week’s rest was still emphatically recommended by the healer, to which Leo readily acquiesced. No daily ride for seven days was a small price to pay for Faustus’ health. 

His mind wanders as he continues to bathe his horse. Memories of the first time he ever rode one of the animals rise unbidden to the forefront of his thoughts. Small, chubby hands wrapped nervously around leather reins. The unsteady motion of the equally nervous horse. His mother’s voice, telling him in a voice as sharp as a whip to sit up straight and act like a prince. 

Fingers curl tightly around the wooden brush. Faustus sidesteps, apple forgotten in favor of huffing at Leo. Prince uncurls his fingers; had he pressed too hard? “…forgive me, Faustus.” 

In truth, the near miss today rattled him deeply. Horseback riding was more than yet another lesson he needed to endure during his childhood. It was the one area he felt any hope of catching up to Xander in skill. And he’d done it, eventually, after the war that solidified their bonds as siblings.

Faustus arrived a year or so in the aftermath, becoming an integral part of Leo’s own growth and that of his relationship with Xander. Hours were spent on horseback, traversing Nohr’s borders with only each other for company. 

Blond head shakes; he’s dealt with enough sentimentality for one day. “Almost done,” he whispers, tossing the brush into a nearby bucket.

ever since fernando had come home for the summer break, you had taken it upon yourself to treat him to luxuries he wouldn't usually get while racing. home cooked meals, lie ins, unlimited access to you; the whole works. while you did attend some of his races when you could, you still had your own career to grow despite fernando's insistence that he could support the both of you if you ever wanted it. you appreciated it but you loved your job and it kept you busy while he was away.

this morning, you found yourself humming along to the radio while waiting to flip the pancakes. you wanted nothing more than to sleep in with fernando and you struggled to leave his warm embrace but you had also been craving pancakes for a while now. besides, you felt good knowing that you could help your boyfriend even if it was a small thing like breakfast.

unbeknownst to you, fernando had already woken up and was now leaning against the doorway to admire you in your element. watching you bounce to the beat of the music, he found himself falling for you all over again. not many could say they were lucky enough to be with a woman like you but he could. he was eternally grateful for everything you did for him and never stopped wondering what kind of saint he was in a past life to be blessed with you.

"fernando! did i wake you?"

you had finally noticed him when you turned around to check the clock.

he trudged towards you and kissed you before wrapping his arms around you. any time spent together was precious for both of you so you made every moment worth it.

you could tell he wasn't just talking about the breakfast and simply smiled.

you pulled away and took notice of the mellow song now playing on the radio.

he could never say no to that smile so he silently obliged and spun you around, much to your delight. when you first started dating, you both promised to make time for each other despite your hectic schedules and sure, sometimes it was hard not seeing each other as often as most couples would. but somehow, you had made it work when nobody else thought you could. and you were happy to keep proving them wrong.

the blare of the smoke alarm startled both of you out of your daze and you promptly remembered what you were doing before you got carried away.

'Never Gonna Dance Again'

Eddie white-knuckles the steering wheel of his Uncle's pick-up and steps on the gas. He figures that there won't be many cops around – not that he'd care all that much about a ticket. Not today.

He just needs to get home.

Well, not home. 'Home' being his and Wayne's temporary digs, which is still Room 4 at the motel on the outskirts of Hawkins, where they are staying with the rest of the Forest Hills residents who don't have homes.

They are all waiting on a government stimulus, or payout, or whatever the fuck those Suits have long promised but still not delivered on.

Eddie pulls at his tie a little more. He thinks he must have only had it all prim and proper at the beginning of the service, when what looked like the entire goddamn town was filing in to Crescent Hills Funeral Home. Wayne had tied it for him, completing the musty, donated ensemble. Then it was soon adjusted when Eddie and his uncle were greeted by a blubbering Claudia Henderson.

He whimpers at the thought of the woman and bites his bottom lip as tears well up, blurring his vision.

Blinking hard, Eddie fumbles for the volume dial. He knows his uncle listens to the local station, keeps up with the local news and traffic. Not that Hawkins has traffic – or that the local station plays anything other than pop.

Though, getting out of Town Hall's parking lot might prove difficult later today – or whenever it might be that everyone decides to stop with the courteous nods and feigned small smiles, scrunch up their Orders of Service and head on home after one too many mini-sandwiches on Mr Harrington's dime.

Richard Harrington, Eddie had come to learn today.

He learned far too many things today.

Like how Steve played the piano when he was a kid.

That his Grandpa was his hero. That he went to Summer Camp every year before becoming a Councillor.

Steve held records on the swim team. He even saved a lady from drowning out by Lover's Lake one time – before he became a lifeguard.

Eddie also got stories from Nancy, all of which were kind, if a little reserved. And of course, Robin – when she wasn't sobbing with her arm linked in his. Dustin, the brave kid, talked about movie nights and Steve's favorite candy as Claudia nodded along knowingly and Julie Harrington looked on surprised by such anecdotes.

He guesses he was surprised by some of it too.

But he wasn't supposed to learn it all this way.

None of this was supposed to happen at all.

Eddie steps on the gas as George Michael laments how he will, "never dance again".

Eddie never even got to, with Steve.

He is such a pretty clown. He move fast and his hair is funky and silver. And he got big puppy dog eyes. And a big grey clown nose. He waddle over in his funny silver clown fit. With the big pants and big shoes. How does he run in those shoes?

He approaches you and you are heart eyes at him. He give you a clown flower because you are just so pretty. But the clown flower is a prank and it sprays you in the face with water. Haha! He tricked you! It was part of the show. You are kind of sad but you are also laughing because it was very funny.

You watch da rest of da show and see that clown out there running fast like sonic around the stage. He is just so cool. Some more sights come out. Elephants that are ethically handled and tigers which are also ethically handled. They roar and stomp and do cool things. And the trapeze artists fly all around. You’re like whoa this is so cool.

When the show is over you are feeling brave. So you bring your popcorn and you approach the silver clown. He is so happy to see you because it turns out he thought you were pretty that’s why he wanted to prank you. You spend two minutes talking before fanfiction logic kicks in. And now he is boning you in da other room.

He make the sexy with you against a wall but every time he do the pap pap pap it’s actually a clown honk. Every time he meet thrusts it go honk honk honk. He make you laugh so much and he go so fast oh no don’t go too fast!! Why he go so fast!!! Slow down mister clown sir! You squeeze his nose and it honk and it make him bust a nut. But don’t worry he pull out so silver clown does not get you preggers. Unless you want him to. Have fun raising mutant clown baby.

Being a huge fan of  Marvel films in general Y/n got exited and jumped around like a child who just got a huge bar of candy for dessert

But the excitement died down when they arrived at the cinema

She frowned seeing her ticket , it said 578

Seonghwa, but my ticket says 578 so that means I'm not sharing a seat beside you guys

As they got inside she went to her seat where nobody else was beside her just the pure darkness surrounding the girl

They all giggled and chatted not even paying attention to the movie, she wished she could be beside one of them but someone else was already getting the affection she wanted

She wiped the tears and tried to concentrate on the movie, but that didn't work as they all stood up and left her there to go somewhere

The girl knew why they where leaving so she didn't even want to go home at this point to have to hear them do it

She only waited some more hours for the film to end so she could finally go home

There was nothing more than just her being the other girlfriend at this point

She put her drink back inside the fridge but stopped when she heard someone waddle towards her direction tiredly

" Honey? Why are you still awake ? "

It was Hongjoong who than tiredly wrapped his hands around her neck

" I just couldn't sleep so I came for a quick drink, let's get you back to bed "

" Come back to bed with me please "

He whined humming into her neck

" But I'm supposed to share with Yunho "

" Please , I didn't get to see you today "

She sighed and helped him walk towards his room where he laid down making grabby hands for her to hold him

" You shouldn't overwork yourself Joong , you know how much I detest to see you tired "

He wasn't sleeping enough due to him composing music all the time at night

" Mhm I'll stop , I'm sorry for worrying you "

" You always say that but you never do , it honestly upsets and makes me doubt you "

" I'm sorry for not taking care of myself like I should, I just love music that I tend to forget about the real world sometimes "

The elder kissed her and fell back asleep into her warm soft embrace

She caressed his hair knowing he promised a lot of things he couldn't keep , he'd probably just end up yelling at her like he always did and crawl back to her crying wanting to try again

Y/n knew her boyfriends more than they knew themselves , that's just how they were

When he was asleep she slowly got out of bed to return into her shared room with Yunho but someone already took her place

Sighing she went back into the living room and slept there on the couch with her blanket instead not wanting to disturb the others

She closed her eyes tiredly and let herself get taken slowly into dreamland

School was the only thing that worried her , the way they would ignore her again till they come home or exclude her from their lunch table since there wasn't "enough" space for her

She feared that Seonghwa would forget her in the rain again , Mingi pretending not to know her in science class , San and Wooyoung go rough on her at PE again , Jongho preferring someone else as his singing partner even tho they were assigned together, Yunho letting the girls from his class flirt with him again , Yeosang being mean to her , and Hongjoong tell her to stop caring about him at school

These where just simple actions in their eyes but it hurt her a lot to the point she'd want to give up on them , but she loved them a lot

I’m not interested in defending celebrities, to be so for real, but I am interested in a crumb of whatever drugs this blogger is on. This kind of standom delusion must feel amazing. 💊💊

It’s so funny to me when stans go after each other and fail to realize that they are all engaging in the same kind of “Nuh-uh! That other side sucks the hardest because of all this very biased data I’ve compiled” type of arguing. I’m also not interested in warring with any stan blogs, but this was just so egregious and needed to be debunked. So let’s unpack:

Right off the bat, this blog has used the word tokenize incorrectly. This means to use someone as a symbol of inclusion or compliance with regulations, or to avoid the appearance of discrimination or prejudice.

I think they are intending to refer to the kids being a commodity to exploit in the overall branding of the family; that they are being objectified. And one only has to skim the Instagram feeds of Danneel and Gen to see which family is more heavy-handed. “Danneel’s entire Instagram use to be solely about that.”Based on what, exactly? Danneel’s very first post is of Jensen and JJ, yes, and her identity as wife and mother is (gasp) very much on display ever since. But…that’s to be expected, right?! After all, sharing those parts of their family life on socials is exactly the whole point and why anyone initially followed. It is that behind the scenes peek into the family lives of J2 that drew people in. It’s not as if either of these women has much of a fan base on their own and neither of them were acting at the time their IG accounts launched.

A quick side-by-side of the 2 accounts at about the same point in time (2017/2018) shows little differences in themes of content:

This blog further claims that “Genevieve and Jared are intelligently including their children where needed” and doing so in “genuine, selfless ways.” *snorts* At the time of this writing, Danneel has 458 posts and Gen has 1,833. Now, I didn’t review each post but the few tags I saw included in family photos were Disneyland and Warner Bros when they visited in recent years. I did not see multiple paid partnership ads featuring the Ackles children. I’m open to anyone proving me wrong, because by sheer volume my argument will still stand. In a random sampling of 2021, we have a string of posts of the Pada-kids that double as ads to varying degrees. Here are just a few examples:

Now you might say, “ok but these are products for children and families…that still seems pretty thoughtful.” Except that one need only scroll a little farther to see the kids included in brand deals for adult supplements, exercise gear, cleaning products, and even shampoo.

All of these products still fit in the “items that help me be a great mom” theme of the Now & Gen era, but this is still blatantly using images of the kids for profit in ways that the Ackles just have not done. What is shown here is just the tip of the iceberg and does not include the other attempts at branding on the failed Now & Gen blog or the YouTube vlog. So I’m not sure how the Pads have only used the kids “when needed” when this family was never going to go hungry without these endorsement deals.

Comparing the volume of likes on Gen’s IG posts that contain the children vs those that do not makes it seem likely that someone has been paying attention to the trends and has concluded that utilizing the children in ads has more earning potential. This is the current climate of social media marketing. These outcomes are in fact considered.

The idea that kids should be allowed to “earn money or have a brand” if they want is actually incredibly irresponsible. Protecting the safety of children that are a part of family content creation was a popular topic over the last year. There have been several examples of families who lost the plot in their efforts to market their children in order to achieve financial gain. What an asinine claim to make for children in general when Google is right there. And I love a link, so here’s a few: X, X, and X. It’s too early to definitively summarize the harm that the Pads might be causing their kids with all the exposure. Even when parents are not intentionally exploiting, their children are too young to consent to this type of “work.” Their brains are literally not developed enough to consider the long term pros and cons. All of this sets them up for potential harm, the risk of which makes none of this a need.

“What’s wrong are self-centered, clueless parents who only show off their kids to benefit off of a certain image.” (Pretending I can’t see the self-centered bit because woooo boy…Gen…😬) But aren’t both families posting photos of their kids to “benefit” off of their image of “family?” It’s baked into the Spn and even Walker marketing. The fandoms have been referred to as a family almost since their inception, so it only makes sense that fans were interested in the leads and their own growing families. Again, both families have benefitted but the Pads have benefitted all the way to the bank. And some Padalecki stans are quick to point this out as a win. If the above blog wants to congratulate Gen on her shrewd sense of business and use of capitalism, then that is a whole other thing and they should just come out and say that without making anyone out to be a saint.

One should take note that nowhere in here have I said that Danneel or Jensen are better people than anyone. I didn’t praise them for anything or proclaim their intentions are always pure of heart. How could anyone know that, except by virtue of the faith that comes along with extreme fandom? And that faith isn’t the same as screenshots, numbers, and patterns.

As always: Pedestals aren’t for people. Hold everyone accountable, even your faves. They will survive.✌🏼
