Feculant Gnarlmaw: The Warp-flora feature an enormous mouth that run up the centre of their trunks, with dozens of razor-sharp teeth lining it, while the few stunted branches that grow from Gnarlmaws feature Plague Bells, tentacles and pustulent boils. They also gather clouds of fatted Plague Flies around them and the base of the Gnarlmaws' trunks are linked with the skulls of those who have been foolish enough to venture near them. And while they normally reside within the Garden of Nurgle, the Warp-flora will rapidly sprout up outside of of his realm, wherever a large number of the Chaos God's Daemons are congregating or Nurgle's most grievous foulness reigns. On the battlefield they aid the Plague God's armies, as the Feculent Gnarlmaws belch clouds of Daemonic spores and shed rot-wet blossom to carpet the maggot-churned earth beneath their boughs. They also exude an aura of supernatural disease and the dull tolling of the Gnarlmaws' Plague Bells, draws Nurgle's Daemons to the battlefield in swarms.

A view from the painting table. . WIP. A quick test mini I've put together, before I dive in to the rest of his pals. . I want my Poxwalkers to be a bit darker, grubby and generally more disgusting, than most... I'm going for horror rather than comic relief. Also, I'm thinking ahead and want to make sure that they contrast with my Death Guard (next project). . After playing around with the skin tones I'm pretty happy with the result. I've used a combination of shades and glazes over Army Painter's Necrotic Flesh. . I'm going to tidy this chap up and then paint the next lot in a couple of batches. These minis are seriously fun to paint, and very, very detailed. . Okay! As I understand, the lore (the story) stuff is not your jam (yet), so I’ll focus on painting blogs mainly.

I know you’ve followed a few already and more will come to you on their own. So I’ll stick to the few blogs from the top of my head.

@will-tomorrow isn’t very active anymore but in the field of painting and kitbashing / creating their own stuff, it’s a must visit.

@genjide is Johan, so, voilà.

@kouratdrhuii really awesome painter with a blog that has a balance of wips and finished minis and almost nothing else.

@kaijuslayer isn’t posting much of his awesome minis of late (because he has an equally awesome new puppy) but ‘t is me first good friend on here. He posts about a lot of different things so if you don’t feel like following, he won’t hold a grudge

@petepaintswarhammer is a fellow 40k dad, father of two, mainly his cool minis, lately the big warmachines known as “Imperial Knights” (I want one) and the futuristic looking “T’au” race.

@boilingcopper is German and now lives in Australia his blog is a mix of friendly banter and impressive paint jobs.

@talrin mixes comics, sci-fi, masterfully painted minis and a lot of The Elder Scrolls stuff (which you might like, you Nord lass)

@skitsmixcommissions is the showcase blog of @wtf-skittens just look at them minis! 

@thestonecuttersguild is hobbying taken to a whole’n’other level…
