Here's a 1930 home in Reno, Nevada that looks like a beautiful French chalet. So, why hasn't the 5bd, 4.5ba $1.1M home sold? Perhaps it's the decor?
But, who wouldn't want to come home to magical pink swirling walls & ceilings?
Or to relax in front of the fireplace in the huge, distorted-funhouse-mirrored living room.
And, if you're not dizzy yet, don't go in the bathroom. The mirrors in here look coppery. I do like the pink fixtures, though. Isn't this bathroom gigantic?
Is this the dining room? I don't know, I'm so disoriented. (Is that a trap door in the floor?) Maybe this is a dining/family room combo.
I thought that this was a bath, but it's the kitchen. Wow, look at the cabinetry. It looks like they attached big 3D appliques to cheap doors.
Don't think you've escaped the swirls, b/c they're in the bedroom, too. Shouldn't they have matched the wallpaper pattern, so it looks seamless, though?
This could be the primary bedroom with the draped ceiling and shelves.
The en-suite is nice. I mean, in comparison to everything else.
Wow. Well, it's a bedroom, but the daybed suggests it's a guest room.
Here's an idea I never thought of. Names all over the ceiling.
We're in the new addition to the house and it has a nice floor and stone. There's a kitchenette in the corner, so it must be an entertaining space.
Up the spiral stairs, there's another open room.
Now, we're in the newest addition.
Could this be another primary suite? A grand piano in the corner of a huge room with an open bath nook. I have no idea, but surely there's plenty of room to enclose this.
Is that a bar in the corner? Maybe this is a rec room.
A room with 2 steps down and an alcove. I don't think it could be a bedroom, but who knows?
By the look of the stone floor, which seems to be a bit of a rough terrain, this may be a sun room. I can't tell if it's clouds or a map on the ceiling.
There's a day bed in here off the sun room, so maybe it's a lounge or a guest room.
I think that this is a guest powder room, but the mirrors throw me off.
The original part of the house.
Here's a pond with a walkway.
And, the newer part each have courtyards.
The newest addition. I'm not sure, but the gate is probably the entrance to the property, which measures a total of .25 acre.

something infinite • part nine
SOMETHING INFINITE • PART NINE Y O U C O U L D H A V E M I N E
part nine of something infinite – you were unafraid to face steve head on when he fucked up, but now it's your turn to face the music and it scares you | ( 2k, tiny angst, lil fluff, enemies to lovers, steve x you, steve x reader – find the rest of the series and more here and find the series playlist on spotify here)
J U L Y 1 9 8 7 🎶 j’s lullaby ( darlin’ i’d wait for you ), delaney bailey
The sun fell softly through Steve’s window. Fingers of light stretching over the shapes of you, his chest rising and falling with each breath, the fan above pushing cool morning air around the room before it grew too hot, sticky and warm in the Indiana heat. Slowly opening your eyes you blinked away sleep, Steve lazily swimming into focus next to you.
A mess of brown hair, the stretch of his shoulders, tiny little moled and freckled constellations chasing along his back, decorating the soft slope of his jaw, lips parted, long sweep of lashes kissing his cheeks.
The most obnoxious boy who’d stolen your heart. Had scattered it into a million tiny pieces. Helped you to pick them all up and put it back together. Had shaped it into something new you’d never expected and now.
What were you now?
Your eyes roamed the walls of his room, mostly bare, covered in checkered wallpaper with one lonely photo of a sports car framed over his desk. A lamp, a few books, a pair of 3D glasses, and a bowling pin? Your lips pulled up into a smile and you wondered at the story behind it. The chair at the desk had a pair of grey sweats hung over the back and a couple of his dresser drawers were half open with socks or shirt sleeves peeking out.
Steve’s room.
Sounds of morning trickled in through the curtains, the low hum of the pool filter, birds in the maple tree outside his window, the rumble of the tractors in the fields and your thoughts drifted back to the night before.
To Steve.
The way he felt.
Fingers pressing into your hips, mouth brushing warm against your neck, his pretty parted lips and the way he said your name. The inky black of his room swallowing you into its secrets, promising to keep the things you said to each other in the dark.
Turning onto your side you moved to face him, tentatively lifting a hand aching to trace your fingers over his shoulder, to search and feel and discover him in the daylight, but he pulled in a breath. Long and sleepy and languid and you drew your hand back, lip bit between your teeth. Hesitation holding you tight, winding you back, afraid to wobble things again. To undo all the repair.
Afraid of what the end of August would mean if you wondered too hard at it.
You wanted to stay, wanted to curl into Steve, fit against him like roots curled around the bottom of pot, but something in you told you to go. Go before he woke up.
So you slipped your legs over the edge of the bed, one of his too-long shirts dancing atop your thighs, and you quietly gathered your things. Curling your fingers around the door you pulled it open slowly, but you stopped short. A quick glance over your shoulder.
He was still sleeping and a smile tugged at the corner of your lips. Even tangled up in the mess of sheets he was so damn pretty, but one last look and you were down the stairs and out the door. Sandals clutched in your hands, bare feet gathering the morning dew as you snuck across the lawn back over to your aunt’s, you found everyone still sleeping there as well. No one none the wiser and your secrets safe with Steve.
It was early, but you could already feel the sun kissing your skin, hot and sticky on your shoulders and neck as you pushed your skateboard down the bumps of the pavement. You were never late for your shift at the library, but your alarm hadn’t gone off and Will had been the one to poke his head in on you.
It had all been a hurried mess as you threw on whatever you could find quickly, hesitating ever so slightly at the shirt of Steve’s sitting atop your dresser before grabbing a Pop Tart and rushing out the door.
Waves of heat lifted from the parking lot, making the library look like it was wobbling as you kicked up over the curb and jogged to the door. Joyce’s car was already in it’s spot and you felt your stomach sink at the thought of what she was going to say, but it immediately flipped over when you saw Steve’s car sitting next to it.
Of course he was here.
But now you were more worried about what he was going to say because he was the one you’d left without so much as goodbye the morning before. A poor attempt at avoiding an inevitable conversation. One you didn’t want to have. The one where you were leaving at the end of the August.
“Hey, sleepyhead!” your aunt caught sight of you as soon as you were in the door.
Shhh!
“Sorry!” Joyce tried again, an apologetic look given to the old woman reading at the table near the front desk. “Hey, sleepyhead,” she said quieter, giving you a little wave, “Doing okay? You seemed like you needed a few extra Z’s this morning.”
Your cheeks flushed as she pointed out you being tired, but you gave her a smile anyway, “Yeah! Yeah, doing okay. Sorry I’m late.”
“You’re fine, sweetie. Return’s cart is there at the end of the A–L aisle when you’re settled.”
Glancing up you saw the roller full of books, but no sight of Steve and your stomach flipped over again. He couldn’t at least have given you the advantage of knowing where he was in the library?
A sigh escaped you as you walked over to the cart and thumbed through the titles, seeing A through C had already been put back, and your eyes flicked up again to look down the row, but still no sight of him. Biting your lip between your teeth you knew you couldn’t just hang around waiting and instead grabbed the stack of D titles and got to it.
One minute ticked by painfully slow.
Then five.
Then ten. Eleven. Twelve.
Was he lost in the library? You almost asked Joyce, but didn’t want to draw anymore attention to it than was necessary and just kept at the task at hand, trying your hardest not to let your mind wander too far.
Leaning up on tip toe you wobbled, trying to slide the book you were holding into place, but a hand reached over yours to grab it before you could put it away.
“You’re in E, that one goes in F.”
It felt like you’d just been shocked, a tiny jolt of electricity up your arm as the hand brushed against yours, and when you looked over your breath hitched in your throat.
“I’m pretty good at reading,” Steve teased, a little grin tugging up at the corner of his mouth and you couldn’t help smiling yourself, swatting at his hand.
“Thanks, Einstein,” you half-whispered back, but his grin fell the longer he looked at you and your chest squeezed with nerves. “Get lost?” you tried to tease again, but the air had shifted and it came out weak.
“Could ask you the same thing.”
You shied away from him then, turning back to the shelf and finding F to put the book back correctly. “I overslept,” you answered, knowing that wasn’t what he was talking about. He hummed, still standing behind you, but you kept your eyes on the shelf hoping he’d leave it even though you knew better.
“Wasn’t a problem yesterday,” his tone was gently teasing, but softer. Wondering. Not angry, but wanting to know, “Why’d you leave?” You could feel his hesitation then and it finally made you turn around so that you saw the pinch between his brows as he worked through things. Looking at you eyes all brown sugar and honey, lashes sweeping his cheeks as they crinkled at the corners. A tiny sliver of regret, “Are you still mad at me?”
“No—“ you started, then huffed a sigh, “Shit.” Tossing the book you were holding back onto the cart you took his hand and led him further down the aisle, back to the corner he’d pulled you into all those weeks ago when you first met, away from eyes and ears and he followed.
It was quieter back there, away from the long bank of windows and air conditioning vents, away from the rows of computers and the beep of the book scanner, and when you turned around it was just you and Steve.
“I’m not mad at you,” you started, fingers picking at the frayed hem of your jean shorts, eyes on the carpet at your feet. This wasn’t you, wasn’t the confident you that took him head on. Called him on his shit. Walked to his door at midnight. Kissed him without a second thought.
Sensing something was off Steve reached a hand out, tangling his fingers with yours, and squeezed. A silent, Its okay. “What is it?” he brought his other hand to your chin and lifted it gently between his thumb and forefinger, meeting your eyes in the middle.
And everything was dizzy. Your thoughts hazy and muddled with the closeness of him. The scent of him all cedar and boy and fresh laundry. Scattered moles and dotted freckles. Skin warm like it held summer beneath it and you had to blink it all away before you spoke.
“Its just–” you sucked in a breath, trying to steady your words, but if you said it aloud it would make it real. Make this time you had here finite. It had an end. And so did you and Steve.
“Shit. I–I'm sorry if I hurt you or–or if it wasn’t good for you. I just, I thought that you know, you sounded like you were into it and so I kept going and–”
Your eyes went wide as you lifted your fingers to press to his mouth, the fastest way to stop his run away train of thought, and you had to bite back a laugh. “Oh my god, Steve. No. That part was…” heat turned your cheeks rosy. The way he said your name, the curve of his shoulders, teeth on skin and, “Not that. Promise.”
Relief washed over him and he huffed a nervous laugh, “Christ. Okay, yeah. Good. Great. That’s great.” He took a step closer to you then, fingers still wrapped around yours, brows pulling together again as his eyes searched yours, “Listen. If this is about you leaving…”
The laugh that had been ready to leap forth died with his words and you dropped your eyes back to the floor. He was wearing his stupid dirty Blazers again, white streaked in green from running in the grass. Dirt and tiny rocks wedged in the grooves. Your red Vans didn’t fare any better and he didn’t let you look long as he leaned down to catch your gaze.
“Hey," he pulled you out of your head and the way he looked at you made you feel like it was going to be okay. "We don’t have to talk about it. Not right now. That’s like…a month away or something. I didn’t even get you a strawberry shake from the diner yet." You smiled at the thought of that and he smiled back. "Still have to hit the drive-in and go to the bluff and the arcade and–” his hand cupped the soft curve of your cheek and lifted it, “–don’t worry about it, Princess.”
You leveled him with a look, “Ass." But there was no heat behind it as your lips twisted. Fighting against a smile despite that stupid nickname, and it pulled a grin out of him.
“Best one in town,” he joked, wiggling his eyebrows at you and you scoffed reaching out to swat at him, but he caught your hand and pulled you into him, arms wrapping snug and warm around your waist.
“After mine,” you teased softly and his grin melted as he leaned into you.
“Of course, ladies first,” and then he pressed his lips to yours, sweet like cherries and warm like sunshine, filling you up and spilling over at the edges as your hands tangled around the back of his neck.
Kissing Steve felt like forever. Like time stood still. Felt
infinite.

Completed - House Flipper 2
All houses are living creatures of chaos, when you get down to it.
There are many arts I'm not great at. Most fiber crafts for one. Watercolor painting, two. Interior design, big time. Like, I'm not going to let my house get filthy, and I'm going to keep everything running to the best of my ability. (Hell, there's something empowering about replacing a toilet's float!) But, by nature? I'm just about keeping things picked up and in general functional order. If you're gonna ask me about what's fashionable when it comes to interior decorating, you're going to get a response that looks like something out of a 1970s Sears catalog. I'm about being functional, economical, and comfy when it comes to my house. Not cool or trendy.
Cool people don't have a wood-paneled basement, oak-laminate particleboard cabinets, or CRT television sets.
Since I'm an aficionado for mid-to-late century American interiors (and the weird vibes they can produce), I tend to follow blogs online that showcase such rooms that still exist in the modern era. Two such blogs include Unteriors and Roomhole. As a response to Unteriors, another blog called Unteriors-In-House-Flipper-2 has crossed my dashboard from time to time. Their skill in rendering such locations is shockingly good. Like, I think you could trick people into thinking these were real-world images. As someone who has dinked around with a few 3D editors, I was fascinated about the tool they were using. What was "House Flipper 2"? How could its users make something that looked so good so fast?
Well, practice is an obvious answer. Familiarity with the tools. A good understanding of lighting, too. But, having the tool be pretty good to begin with also helps!
As the name implies, "House Flipper 2" is a design tool/game that simulates the reconstruction (or straight up construction) of various spaces. You can do this either to your own whims or to those of various clients in the game's story mode. While a person can just dive right into a sandbox and mess around with tools as they see fit, the story mode does give structure and context to how each tool works. The plot there is nothing to write home about, but the houses themselves…man. No shit "Crime Scene Cleaner" is a game that exists. Garbage-based jump scares abound, and I'm not just talking about the awful wallpaper your character's parents keep putting up.
Hmm. Both "House Flipper 2" and "Crime Scene Cleaner" are under the Playway publisher page in Steam. The games have different developers, but I do wonder if their staff members were talking to each other. Perhaps even sharing employees…
If a player is hoping to get something a little deeper than an HGTV television show in terms of plot, they may come away disappointed from "House Flipper 2." I'm not saying that a person can't draw their own conclusions from the details they find around the house they are cleaning. (I'm pretty sure a couple was copulating in the bathroom at one house concert, for one.) You're just not going to deal with anything more complicated than cleaning up a house post-flood. Which, trust me. At the risk of beating a dead horse, I have a lot of empathy for that. But, it's not exactly navigating the factional relationships between Pinnacove town citizens and designer corporation Accenzo, like being in some kind of housing-based "Shin Megami Tensei" RPG. It's just generally trying to make people happier.
I mean, if we're being super honest, most of them pissed me off via jealousy over familial/economic stability and being able to pursue their own dreams. But, I did think it was pretty cool that one of my clients had vitiligo. I mean, I guess all video games with Michael Jackson in them also star someone with vitiligo, but that's a unique and thoughtful design choice.
To complete your jobs, you get (or gain access to) the following options:
Hands (for moving objects around)
Flipper Tool (responsible for selling or duplicating items, as well as changing their appearance post-purchase or copying their style)
Collecting Trash
Cleaning (for stains and windows)
Vacuuming
Demolishing (for wrecking walls)
Building (for building walls)
Edit Wiring (to hook your electronics up to switches)
Surface Finishes (for tiling, wood, and wallpaper)
Painting
Most are intuitive, once you get access to them. The more you use them, the more perks and abilities you can unlock for them. Since there's not a great real-world equivalent for the Flipper Tool, that one may take a little more time to get used to. Just remember that it has a submenu for selecting its various features, and you should be good to go.
Client demands are highlighted on your tool wheel with yellow exclamation points. Getting into your quest menu will also show you an itemized list of tasks to perform. When you have a tool selected, you can hit a Flipper Sense button to have what needs to be acted on highlighted in yellow. Very handy, especially when you can't see what to destroy or clean up.
Usually, you'll have the best luck doing the following in order:
Sell off unwanted stuff.
Bag trash.
Vacuum.
Clean stains.
Clean windows.
Paint.
Resurface walls and floors.
Buy wanted stuff (and arrange as desired.)
Unpack boxes (for stuff the client has already purchased.)
Some of your objectives get hidden behind furniture, so be sure to fling that aside if you get stumped. Might as well spam the Flipper Sense, too. You do get points for it, after all!
The only "threat" you have is your budget. I put that in quotes because, assuming you are following the client's requests, you should never go anywhere near running out of money. Even in your own projects, you can repeat previous jobs to get more cash, should you get in a pinch. Just put in enough attention and elbow grease to max out your job to three stars, then cash out.
You do get into a lull, working through those jobs. At a certain point, you may hit a level of brain fatigue with redesigning whatever items your customers want you to purchase and just give into their requests, regardless of how you feel about the style of the products you are purchasing. The game's just checking that you made the right purchases, not that you placed them well or used a certain style. Perhaps this brain fatigue is what makes coming across a junked-up room all the more shocking. You're just trying your best with making an efficient, pleasant space, and wham! Thirteen pizza boxes chucked across an attic space, complete with grease stains sinking into the hard wood floors. Like, there's worse things to find in a house. I've seen worse in real life. But, it doesn't mean that it didn't make me curse or shudder.
Man, though. I get where real-life house flippers just keep doing the same crap over and over again. White walls and gray laminate floors aren't just the results of creative bankruptcy and penny pinching. It's also mental fatigue and executive dysfunction.
Additionally, the game will occasionally treat you with a furniture assembling mini-game. Successfully getting at least 2 stars on your assembled product will grant you a small discount to purchased items of that class in game (somewhere between 2-6%, depending on the difficulty of the item in question.) They work well enough, despite some arguments I had with the game's camera. Whoever made the time limits to beat on those mini-missions needs to have some kind of intervention for whatever stimulants they are abusing, though. Like hell I'm repeating something that took me 20 minutes to put together just because they think it can be done in 15.
You can also platform across "Floor is Lava" maps, but man. I'm just here to fix up houses.
If you did want to cut out the story and get right to the point, a sandbox mode is available for you. The tools aren't an exact 1 to 1 with the tools you get in the story mode, but there's enough overlap that playing the story mode will help you out here. Additionally, there are tools for assigning quests, jobs, etc. in the event that you want to upload your map to mod.io and have other players play your map. You can also control the lawn growth and punch holes in the map, which man! Would have I liked those options in the main game.
When you are allowed to take full control over a house and exercise your skills, you will likely be happy with the variety of colors, textures, and items to play with. The furniture is somewhat restricted to modern creations akin to something you'd find in IKEA or on Wayfair, with only select deviations made for the occasional appliance to look mid-century modern. (Which, for someone who has a fair amount of CRT television sets around the house, is a bit of a bummer. The one CRT they have in game is just not the vibe I'm going for, either.) Each furniture item and texture set can be dyed in at least three sets of color styles separated by vibrance, sometimes also coming with different pattern, wood, or metal types. In the right circumstances, you can also use photos off your own computer for additional artwork! For someone that remembers the more static days of the original Sims release, it's particularly impressive! Significantly fewer dead people around, too.
I'm always amused when guys discover exactly what gals did in "The Sims" games. Those games were pool-based slaughterhouses. Girls had to get their cool graveyards somehow.
When I had hiccups with the game, I could get around most obstacles by figuring out how to talk to the game in its own logic. Like, once I removed a timber log to paint behind it, then had to resize said log into a sliver to get it back into place, then resize it once more to its original size. Hooking up electrical wiring also wasn't explicitly taught, but I figured it out after messing around with light settings in a ranch house. The only problems I had that couldn't be fixed were being unable to cut triangular shapes out of bricks or placing bricks down in spots where the game arbitrarily said no. Annoying? Sure. But, that's a surprisingly low limitation.
Although, it would have been nice to be able to manually freeze items into a single group. Or, just have a bunch of items for purchase as a group. (Like, I'm talking having a block of books instead of having to arrange one at a time. I suppose you could put them onto a tray, move them, then delete the tray, but man. That feels weird.) Also, it's kind of weird that there are so many toys, but not a generic teddy bear or doll. Like, there's action figures for fake games, but not much in the way for dolls or stuffed animals. I don't know. Just seems like a thing kids would have.
Another weird thing—I ended up having this intermittent input issue with a Nintendo Switch controller that I was using from time to time. For whatever reason, right stick input would lock into a counter-clockwise circle, and I'd have to shake it out of that bad behavior. I doubt many people are using Switch controllers for PC gaming, but hey. Guess I’m weird like that. (I didn't have any issues with an Xbox 360 controller or the standard keyboard and mouse, for what that's worth.)
"House Flipper 2" is an awesome tool that happens to have a decent game mode attached to it. I am wondering how this could be used more as a partner tool or competitor to something like Sketchup more than expanding the boundaries and lore of Pinnacove. I imagine an average interior designer could get a lot of use out of something like "House Flipper 2," even if that's not the exact purpose of it. A person is never going to get exact furniture matches with it, but I imagine you could at least mock up a room relatively quickly with it. To those in the right industry, that might be pretty neat.
The base price for "House Flipper 2" is around $39.99 with a bonus DLC Starter Pack for $9.99. I suspect this price may change depending on how many people they want/need to pull in for co-op playtesting, so watch for any potential sales. I'm not exactly certain how many of my readers would be into building homes and decorating them, so for them, this may be too expensive. But, hey. It's important to engage in non-violent, constructive play, from time to time. This is a good way to do just that.
Although, if an option opens up to smash some digital NIMBY or HOA president's car in with a sledgehammer, I'm all for that, too. Gotta make this housing market more affordable somehow.

hello, cohost of a relatively newly discovered system here, i just saw a post you made in response to new system ask, and i was curious about how we would go about developing an innerworld.
i am led to believe we have aphantasia, so we cant "picture" anything in our head so i dont know if that prevents us from having a headspace/innerworld. i know some systems just dont have a headspace (a roommate of mine has DID and she has told us that she does not have a headspace, and she cannot communicate with her sysmates outside a discord server)
anyways, i was just curious if there would be a way for us to try devloping an innerworld or not after reading that post. ty
I can be of help to you, but this will heavily depend on yourselves as im here only capable of sharing what might work, from my own experiences.
To understand what makes innerworld an innerworld, by simple means,, it is a place that is reconstructed by senses mentally, vision (mental images) is one of them. You see where this is going.. right?
What if you try it by theory, i know you can't imagine, but im sure you know what it'll be like correct? For first advice, a small but functional innerworld will do because navigating in a big one whilst being 'blind' does not spark joy. Ok so, let's start the steps:
Using your other senses (tactile and hearing) as advantage: How do you want your floors,, is it solid, warm to touch and smooth? That could be porcelain. Straight ridges, un-even textures and cool to touch? That could be wood planks. Fluffy, scruffy texture and it damps noises? That could be carpet/rug floors. Now how do you want your walls,, is it wallpaper patterns you can feel by tactile? Maybe you want it the regular way that is painted smoothly? How thick or thin do you want it to be, enough to produce an echo from a knock or nothing at all? The rest then lies on personalization like furnitures and decorations,, i bet you can do this yourself. Also recommend you by practicing with little things for now and work from there, to bigger things.
Map it out: after determining which fits best, this is where the floor plan is arranged, you might want to draw it out physically (or use apps/webs its ok), from arial, or from side, or in 3d,, anything works. This will help you keep the world consistent as you can't see, as well as serving as a map to navigate around. I also have aphantasia where i can barely see anything as it fleets away so fast (i believe its in a spectrum, i saw it), leaving me having to navigate by touching the walls and guess the floor and temperature (i think windows make rooms feel hotter and in this case my living room has a big balcony). Do not over do the items as it can block your walking route leading to unnecessary bumps, if you want shelves or something hanged above, place them in a reasonable spot because bumping to it by forehead or elses is annoying.. i changed the height of my hanged shelf at the end and it never happen again. Especially if you don't have the innate 'gps' to navigate around.
Teamwork makes dreamwork: I assure you that you don't want to do this alone.. why not share some ideas of what the fronting room should 'look' like, or what the communal place should,, this is honestly done to make everyone feel at ease living in it, as well as sharing the work. You CAN do this yourself but it feels overwhelming and could lead to a burn out.. anyway, it'll take a while to properly build a world, so don't feel bad if its still going to be on progress for months,, no worlds are made perfectly in one try. Incase if you want to remodel the world to a new one at future, just repeat the steps.
Hope this serves you as an insight, this has definitely work for me, and i am not 100% sure it could for you, though, you still learn a few things from here. If you feel like giving up or see this as too much work there is no shame,, and so, i wish you the best luck.
- j

The Best 3D Wallpapers for Every Room in Your Home
Living Room: Geometric and Abstract Wallpaper
The living room is often the first room visitors see, making it the perfect place to make a statement. Geometric wallpaper with 3D effects can introduce a modern and sophisticated vibe. The clean lines and repetitive patterns in 3D form not only enhance the aesthetics but also the room's geometry, making it appear more spacious.
Abstract wallpaper, on the other hand, serves as a vibrant backdrop for your living space. These wallpapers often blend colors and shapes in ways that can evoke emotions and set a mood. Opt for designs that complement your existing décor to create a cohesive look.
Kitchen and Dining Area: 3D Brick Wallpaper
The kitchen and dining area benefit immensely from the rustic charm of 3D brick wallpaper. This style mimics the look of real bricks and is ideal for creating a cozy, welcoming environment where family and guests can gather. The textured effect of the brick pattern adds depth and character to the kitchen, making it feel warmer and more inviting.
Bedroom: Blue and Black Wallpaper
When it comes to bedrooms, creating a tranquil and relaxing environment is critical. Blue wallpaper with 3D effects can calm the mind and soothe the soul, making it an excellent choice for bedroom walls. The color blue is often associated with serenity and has been shown to reduce stress and increase relaxation.
Black wallpaper in a bedroom might sound daring, but when combined with 3D effects, it can add a touch of luxury and depth. It’s perfect for feature walls and pairs well with metallic accents like gold or silver, which help to break up the darkness and add a touch of elegance.
Bathroom: Waterproof 3D Effect Wallpaper
Bathrooms offer a unique opportunity to experiment with bold styles, and waterproof 3D effect wallpaper is a perfect choice. You can opt for a design that mimics natural elements like stone or water to create a spa-like atmosphere. Not only do these designs add visual interest, but they also contribute to a sense of relaxation and tranquility.
Hallways and Smaller Spaces: Black and Geometric Wallpaper
Hallways and small spaces can benefit from the illusion of depth created by 3D wallpapers. Black geometric patterns can give these smaller areas an expansive feel without overwhelming the space. The shadows and shapes in the wallpaper can make narrow spaces feel more significant than they are.
3D Wallpaper UK: Accessibility and Quality
For those in the UK, accessing high-quality 3D wallpaper has always been challenging. With numerous online retailers and local shops offering a wide range of 3D wallpaper designs, it's simple to find the perfect fit for your home. Whether you're looking for something traditional or something with a bit more flare, the variety available ensures there is something for everyone.
Final Thoughts
3D wallpapers are more than just home decor items; they are transformative elements that bring character and depth to any room. Whether you choose a vibrant abstract design, a sophisticated geometric pattern, or a realistic brick effect, these wallpapers promise to elevate your home’s style. Remember to consider the overall theme of your room and the atmosphere you want to create when selecting your 3D wallpaper. With the right choice, your walls will not just complement your interior; they will enhance it, turning each room into a dynamic space filled with personality and style.

Home Decor in 2024. What’s Hot & What’s Not?
Pink’s out. Peach is in.
Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2024 is soft and subtle “Peach Fuzz,” replacing last year’s vibrant “Viva Magenta.” Pantone is recognized globally as a leading source of color expertise.
“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute™.
If you’re looking to revamp your space, consider PANTONE 13-1023 and its complementary colors: everything from creamy, brown and tan neutrals to shades of teal, lavender and mint green. Note: gray is not listed. For those who went wild with gray or greige tones during that trend, you might want to roll up your sleeves and buy a new paint roller.
What’s out?
Say goodbye to Barbiecore (think pink). What else is losing favor? Here’s a quick rundown of trends that seem to be going by the wayside in home decor:
Sliding barn doors (Let’s face it – they don’t even do a great job of blocking light, smells, and sounds.)
White-on-white kitchens
Extremes – whether that means bare minimalism or over-the-top Grand Millennial
Heavy industrial style
What’s in?
Back kitchens
AKA butler’s pantry or scullery, this separate space keeps secondary or backup items hidden from site, tidying up the more public area. Here you can house additional refrigeration and freezing, warming drawers, wine storage, lesser-used mechanical devices, formal entertaining dishes and cutlery, etc. Appliance garages have been around for a while, but they seem to be gaining popularity as another way to streamline kitchens.
Bespoke bedrooms and bathrooms
Behind the scenes, highly personalized spaces offer homeowners comfort and creative freedom. Feel free to layer these rooms with your favorite monogrammed fabrics, artwork, family photos, and heirlooms. Make it meaningful.
Casual luxury
It may sound like an oxymoron, but luxury doesn’t have to mean formal. Rather than opulent and imposing, choose comfortable, lived-in furniture that is still beautiful and lavish.
Bold wall treatments
Add depth and personality to walls by treating them as large canvases. Incorporate wallpaper, paneling, 3D wall coverings, stone or wood features, decorative molding. This is a take on dopamine decor – which continues to be popular – creative touches that make you feel good when you walk into a room.
Separated spaces
Demolishing interior walls to create all-in-one living/working/playing areas is seeing a bit of a reversal. Delineating spaces by incorporating walls that still have good flow through the use of doorways and openings allows for rooms with purpose and intention.
Mixed metals
This may come as a relief. Chrome, brass, black, copper, bronze – all can be used when harmoniously paired. Trying to keep up with what’s in shouldn’t mean having to change out plumbing fixtures annually!
Mixed materials
Kitchen countertops don’t have to be one solid matchy-matchy mass. Add interest and dimension to this horizontal space. Consider a mix of materials for visual, tactile and utilitarian variety – natural wood with granite, or quartz with sleek stainless steel.
Outdoors in
Windows seem to be taking center stage – becoming bigger and bigger. The view outside is more of a focal point than an after-thought. Biophilic design is also a way to get the feeling of nature inside your dwelling by adding large indoor plants and natural wood and stone finishes.
Mud-laundry rooms
Combining a laundry with a mudroom is a space-efficient idea. Storage components can serve double-duty: hooks, cabinets, cubbies and drawers.
Sustainability
Cheap, mass-produced furniture is becoming increasingly unpopular. People are gravitating toward quality pieces that are higher end and/or repurposed for a lesser environmental footprint.
A word of caution
Before you revamp your space with all the latest trends, carefully consider which ones truly work for you. If you’re thinking about selling your home soon, reach out to me and let's talk about what changes will give you the biggest bang for your buck.
