Jira Quick Start Guide: Manage your projects efficiently using the all-new Jira" by Ravi Sagar
The book "Jira Quick Start Guide: Manage your projects efficiently using the all-new Jira" by Ravi Sagar has received mixed reviews from readers. Here's a summary of the feedback:
Positive Review (5.0 out of 5 stars)
Seann Ikon, a reader from the United States, found the book to be concise and informative. They recommend it for anyone working with Jira, even if they are more accustomed to using AzureDevOps.
Negative Review (2.0 out of 5 stars)
Glosso, another reader from the United States, expressed dissatisfaction with the book's writing style. They found the writing to be bad, with numerous issues related to grammar and verbosity. The reviewer found it distracting and ultimately unreadable. They provided examples of sentences that could be improved for clarity and conciseness.
Negative Review (1.0 out of 5 stars)
An anonymous Amazon Customer from the United States did not find the book useful. They suggested that the book might have been written for an earlier version of JIRA, indicating a lack of relevance to the current Jira software.
Neutral Review (3.0 out of 5 stars)
Revanth Kumar K from India mentioned that the book's price was too high, suggesting it might be overpriced.
Negative Review (2.0 out of 5 stars)
Lord Bernard De Montacute, a reader from the United Kingdom, described the book as weak and thin in terms of content. They felt it did not provide sufficient value for the money spent and believed they could have written a similar book in a short amount of time.
Positive Review (5.0 out of 5 stars)
Mike Connor from Australia expressed a positive view of the book but didn't provide a detailed review.
In conclusion, the book appears to have some valuable information about Jira, but it also faces criticism for its writing style, relevance, and pricing. Readers' opinions vary, so it may be worth considering the specific aspects of the book that align with your needs and preferences before making a decision to purchase it.

I just finished watching Exception and I must say I really enjoyed it. It's a very fun mystery thriller with eye catching visuals and really interesting character designs.
It's a very tight made story with a small cast so it's easy to follow.
There are some scenes that aren't shot in ways that I really liked (there is a spinning scene that I understand the purpose of but feel could have been done better a different way). Some shots linger on rather bland or uninteresting scenery which is a shame because some of the design elements are fantastic and would have made for a much more interesting shot.
Dialogue is well done, the characters are consistent in their actions and behaviors, even if I don't necessarily like how they acted or reacted.
Mack has my favorite character design, but I'm a sucker for a broody, goal-driven punk.
Of the characters, I liked Lewis's design the least. I understand why he looks that way (they have all three masculine base body types: V, O, and square), but he is visually the least interesting to me. His personalities make up for it though.
I also love that they don't over explain the world or the characters. There is some delving into back stories, but just enough to make them feel real and always in dialogue between a character who is familiar and one who isn't (the three male characters clearly knew each other prior to the show).
No one over explains things. Each character has their own speciality and so only explains within their knowledge base.
Final spoiler free thought: I love the design of the ship. It's beautiful to me.
Spoilers going forward. Be warned.
The mystery is very well done. No one character is telegraphed as being suspicious but they also all have just enough not-known that it's difficult to clear any of them, excluding the doctor (though in the show they don't discount her potential involvement).
Patty, in my opinion, is foreshadowed very well. She is odd from the beginning and it seems like she isn't well known by the other crew members. It isn't striking at the beginning because we don't know if any of them are or are not familiar with each other.
I really like Lewis's monster design, I like that he has difficulty speaking due to the mangled shape of his mouth and throat. I find the arc of him adapting to his new body and regaining control of himself very interesting and I love the narrative beat of Mack switching from "it" to "him" immediately after he realizes his friend really might be in there somewhere. Making it clear that Mack was only using the pronoun "it" to mentally distance himself from the concept of it still being his friend Lewis. This being shown even more strongly later on when he is the first to be ruled out.
The autophilia by Patty is both a little creepy (because up until that point she really hadn't shown interest in much) and feels almost obvious. Of course the only person she could trust with such a dangerous mission would be herself, and there is real genuine care shown between the two different prints.
Overall the show left me thinking, which I enjoy. It brings up questions of personhood, was each print their own person? At what point is a copy no longer a copy? In world there were laws and policies about how to treat printed people, laws about who couldn't be reprinted and when exceptions can apply.
It brings up but does not answer: Is a copy still human if it's molecularly identical but not born in the traditional fashion? Are we just our memories and the body we inhabit is just the host?
I highly recommend this show. It's only eight episodes so it's not difficult to finish in a reasonable amount of time. If you watch or have watched it, please let me know what you think!

❀ My thoughts on Weathering With You.
Tumblr media
🌧️ Since watching Weathering With You, the story was not only beautiful but a tab bit sad how it all went when bringing Hina down back from the sky would risk making the rain last forever without fulfilling her chosen sacrifice as a weather maiden… But, I like to think… Ever since Hodaka chased Hina up to the sky and brought her back down, they both created a new hope and became linked…
☀️ Their love for one another was strong enough to tie them together as soulmates and once they wed to become official then the rain will finally stop and bring sunshine to Tokyo again. Showing how powerful and beautiful love really is to change fate.

I’ll be bringing this up in my coming review of Spidops but some of the official artwork looks directly traced (or even auto-generated, with a few touch-ups) from the in-game models and it damn near hurts my soul. The artwork is the “real face” of a Pokemon and typically has more personality than the 3d graphics, because the drawings and the models exist for different purposes. The models are made to function in a 3d animated game. The drawings are made to look good and represent the character. THIS DOES NOT LOOK GOOD, and it’s glaringly cheap for something that over a hundred artists on my dash every day could have done better. As I’ll also be repeating in the Spidops review, its tcg card shows how much personality its design is capable of conveying:

#my Unity project be like(via @manyblinkinglights) XD
so humans apparently have thirteen cranial nerves that go DIRECT from the brain to the relevant organ, because that’s how Important the organ is. someone look at this breakdown and tell me if something seems off with the budgeting:
4 cranial nerves dedicated to the eyes
2 dedicated to taste (including one specifically for the tongue)
2 dedicated to the face (sensation and expression)
1 to the nose
1 to the ears and balance organs
1 to “shoulder elevation and head-turning” (i mean, i guess that’s important)
1 for “nobody knows but maybe to sense pheromones”
and 1 for THE ENTIRE REST OF THE BODY
not “the heart” or “the stomach” or “the lungs”. the ENTIRE rest of the BODY. ohh hoohoohoo guess you don’t need any redundancies for this CRITICAL PUMP that supplies OXYGEN TO THE BRAIN :)) doesnt matter if this nerve bundle gets damaged, you probably don’t need to breathe in all that AIR. wtf evolution, shitty design. C–, go back to the drawing board and get me a more sensible blueprint, Jesus fuck

Hi!! I love your art!! Please tell us more about your OC 🥲 💕 Also what equipment do you use? Any good (kind of affordable) tablet/computer/software/brush recs for someone who wants to get into digital art!!
for tablets, i've been using huion's inspiroy H1161 for about 4 years now, and i previously used a monoprice tablet (i have a quick review & comparison of it with wacom here). there are tablets with and without displays, and even if you're interested in a display tablet, i'd still recommend starting with a basic drawing tablet just to get used to things and see how you like it. i've found that i personally don't like drawing on display tablets, which is great bc display tablets are expensive
for art programs, you can start with free programs to get used to things (like krita, firealpaca, etc--i haven't used them myself so i don't have personal recs) or paid programs like paint tool sai (my old favorite) or clip studio paint (which i use currently, and they run sales periodically so you can get it at a discount)
out of the paid programs, paint tool sai is more approachable and beginner friendly. clip studio paint can be pretty intimidating as a first-time art program, was intimidating to me when i first got it, and i'm still learning new things about it. what really led me to switch from sai to csp though is the 3d model support (which is what lets me make these) and the expansive asset library (which has brushes, 3d models, textures, auto functions, etc). some assets are paid, but plenty are free, and csp occasionally gives away "clippy" that you can use to buy paid assets
and about radri, aw thank you for asking! hmm, idk what to say that hasn't been said... she's just really shy and afraid and cringe but in kind of a cute way (to me). i just think it's funny for her to have such a terrifying reputation and then you meet her in person and she's struggling to catch the innkeeper's attention to book a room
