I wrote a 12 page epilogue to my 2019 comic "Harry Potter and The Problematic Author" because I found, in 2023, that I had more to say. You can also find this comic on my website, and I have PDF copies available on etsy. I may sell print copies at some point in the future.
instagram / patreon / portfolio / etsy / my book / redbubble
Full transcript below the cut.
PAGE 1
Part one: Ruddy Owls!
I was in fourth grade when the first Harry Potter Book was released in the US.
Panel 1: Sometimes our teacher would read it aloud in class. âMr and Mrs Dursley of number 4 Privat Drive were proud to say they were perfectly normal, thank you very muchâŚâ
Panel 2: I was 11 years old when Harry Potter finally broke through my dyslexia and turned me into a reader.
Panel 3: Every night in the summer before sixth grade I waited for the owl carrying my Hogwarts Letter. I cried when it didnât come. âI have to go to Muggle school!â
PAGE 2
Part Two: Hats
I dedicated myself to being a fan.
Panel 1: I began collecting Harry Potter News article.
Panel 2: I asked my relatives to mail me ones from their local papers. I filled a thick binder with clippings.
Panel 3: I wrote my own trivia quiz
Panel 4: and participated in the one held annually at the county fair. âNext contestant!â
Panel 5: I usually got into one of. the top five spots. I won boxes of candy, posters, stationary, and once a baseball cap. (Hat reads: I survived the battle of Hogwarts).
Panel 6: In high school I sewed a black velvet cape and knitted many stripped scarves.
PAGE 3
Part Three: Double Trouble
Watching the last film in 2011 felt like the final note of my childhood.Â
Panel 1: I remember driving home from the midnight showing thinking about the end of 13 years of waiting; wondering what would define the next chapter of my life.Â
Panel 2: That same month I heard of something called Pottermore. âOkay, so thereâs a sorting quiz⌠I already know my house! Patronus assignment? Mineâs a barn owl. Duh!"Â
Panel 3: You can read the books again but with GIFs? Why?Â
Panel 4: I lived in a place with very slow and limited internet at the time. Pottermore sounded inaccessible, but also boring. I never joined.Â
Panel 5: "Iâll just read the actual books again, thanks."Â
PAGE 4
Part Four: Sweets
In 2016, a series of short stories titled "History of Magic in North Americaâ were released on Pottermore to pave the way for the first Fantastic Beasts Film. These stories display an extreme ignorance of American history, culture, and geography, but the worst parts are the casual misuse of indigenous beliefs and stories. Fans and critics immediately spoke up against this appropriation. Some of the most quoted voices included Nambe Pueblo scholar Dr. Debbie Reese who runs the site âAmerican Indians In Childrenâs Literatureâ; Navajo writer Brian Young; Johnnie Jae (Otoe-Missouria and Choctaw), founder of A Tribe Called Geek; Dr Adrienne Keene (Cherokee Nation), a Professor at Brown University who runs the blog âNative Appropriationsâ, and writers N.K. Jemison and Paula Young Lee.
PAGE 5
Rowling is famous for responding to fans directly on twitter, yet she did not respond to anyone calling out the damaging aspects of âMagic in North America.â Her representatives refused to comment for March 9 2016 article in the Guardian. She has never apologized. All of this, plus the casting of Johnny Depp and the specific declarations of support by JKR, Warner Brothers, and director David Yates left a sour taste in my mouth.
For further thoughts on the new films read The Crimes of Grindelwald is a Mess by Alanna Bennett for Buzzfeed News, November 16, 2018.

Excerpt from Colonialism in Wizarding American: JK Rowlingâs History of Magic in North America Through an Indigenous Lens by Allison Mills, MFA, MAS/MLIS (Cree and Settler French Canadian)
Although Rowling is certainly not the first white author to misstep in her treatment of Indigenous cultures, she has an unprecedented level of visibility and fame, [âŚ] One of the most glaring problems with Rowlingâs story is her treatment of the many Indigenous nations in North America as one monolithic group. [âŚIt] flattens out the diversity of languages, belief systems, and cultures that exist in Indigenous communities, allowing stereotyping to persist. [âŚ] It continues a long history of colonial texts which ignore that Indigenous peoples still exist. [âŚ] In the Wizarding world, as in the real world, Indigenous histories have been over-written and our cultures erased.

PAGE 7
Part 5: Music
Panel 1: Also in 2016 I discovered two podcasts which radically altered my experience of being an HP fan. The first was Witch Please created by two Canadian feminist literary scholars Hannah McGregor and Marcelle Kosman.
Panel 2: âIf itâs not in the text it doesnât count!â âClose reading ONLY!â
Panel 3: They talk about Harry Potter at the level youâd expect in a college class with particular focus on gender, race, class, and the troubling fatphobia, fear of othered and queer coded bodies, violence against women, white feminism, gaslighting and failed pedagogy in the books. They bring up these issues not because they hate the series, but because they LOVE it.
PAGE 8
These passionate, joyful conversations went off like fireworks in my mind. I had never taken a feminist class before. I gained a whole new vocabulary to talk about the books- and the world.
PAGE 9
Panel 1: The second podcast I started that year was Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, created by two graduates of the Harvard Divinity School, Vanessa Zoltan and Casper Ter Kuile.
Panel 2: They read one chapter per episode through a theme such as love, control, curiosity, shame, responsibility, hospitality, destruction, or mystery. Like Witch Please, they are interested only in the information on the page, not thoughts from the author. The delights and failures of the text are examined in the context of the present day, and new meanings constantly arise.
PAGE 10
What does it mean to treat a text as sacred?
Trusting that the more time we give to it, the more blessings it has to give us.
Reading the text repeatedly with concentrated attention. Our effort is part of what makes it sacred. The text is not in and of itself sacred, but is made so by rigorously engaging in the ritual of reading.
Experiencing it in community.
âTo me, the goal of treating the text as sacred is that we learn to treat each other as sacred.â -Vanessa Zoltan
PAGE 11
Part 6: Tooth and Claw
In October 2017, Rowling liked a tweet linking to an article arguing that trans women should be kept out of womenâs bathrooms because of cisgender womenâs fears. In March 2018, she liked a tweet about the problem of misogyny in the UK Labour Party which included the line âMen in dresses get brosocialist solidarity I never had.â The author of the tweet had previously posted many blatantly anti-trans statements.
Rowlings publicist claimed she had liked the posted by accident in a âclumsy and middle-aged moment.â Yet, in September 2018 she liked a link posted by Janice Turner to her column in the Times UK titled âTrans Rapists Are A Danger In Womenâs Jails.â
Screencaps of these tweets can be found in the article âThe Mysterious Case of JK Rowling and her Transphobic Twitter Historyâ, January 10 2019 by Gwendolyn Smith (a trans journalist), LGBTQNation.com
PAGE 12
Excerpt from: Is JK Rowling Transphobic? A Trans Woman Investigates by Katelyn Burns
Ultimately, the answer is yes, she is transphobic [âŚ] I think itâs fair that she receives criticism from trans people, especially given her advocacy on behalf of queer people in general, but also because she has a huge platform. Many people look up to her for creating a singular piece of popular culture that holds deep meaning for fans from different walks of life, and she has a responsibility to handle that platform wisely. (Published on them.us March 28, 2018)
PAGE 13
Part 7: Home
At age 30, Iâm still not over Harry Potter.
Panel 1: Iâve recently found a local bar that does HP trivia nights. âPoppy or Pomona?â âPoppy!â
Panel 2: I currently own an annual pass to Universal Studios so I can visit Hogsmeade.
Panel 3: I love talking to kids who are reading the books for the first time. âWhoâs your favorite character?â âGinny!â
Panel 4: And Iâm planning a relisten to the audio books to next year to help me get through the election cycle. âJim Dale, Iâm going to need you more than everâŚâ
Spoiler from 2023: I did not do this. By mid-2020 JKR had posted her transphobic essay; we were in covid; I never visited Universal Studios again.
PAGE 14
But I do want to learn from her mistakes. I never want to repeat âMagic in North America.â As I write, I will do my research. I will consult experts and compensate them. If a reader from a different culture/background than me speaks up about my work, I will listen and apologize. I KNOW I WILL MAKE MISTAKES. But I will own up to them and I will do better.
PAGE 15
Excerpt from Diversity Is Not Enough: Race, Power and Publishing by Daniel JosĂŠ Older
We can love a thing and still critique it. In fact, thatâs the only way to really love a thing. Letâs be critical lovers and loving critics and open ourselves to the truth about where we are and where weâve been. Instead of holding tight to the same old, failed patriarchies, letâs walk a new road, speak new languages. Today, letâs imagine a literature, a literary world, that carries this struggle for equity in its very essence, so that tomorrow it can cease to be necessary, and disappear. (Buzzfeed, April 14, 2017)Â
PAGE 16
Harry Potter is flawed, & JK Rowling is problematic. But the books helped me learn a lot:Â
*One of the greatest dangers facing the modern world is the rise of fascismÂ
*The government cannot be trustedÂ
*Read and think critically
*Question the news: who paid the journalist? Who owns the paper?Â
*Trust and support your friends through good times and bad
*Organize for resistance
*Educate and share resources with peers
*The revolution must be diverse and intersectional
* We are only as strong as we are united
*The weapon we have is loveÂ

PART 8: EPILOGUE
In 2021 I removed a Harry Potter patch I sewed to my book bag over a decade ago. I took 15 pieces of Harry Potter fanart off my walls. I got rid of my paperback book set, 2 board games, and 8 t-shirt. [images: a Hogwarts a patch with loose threads, a pair of scissors and a seam ripper]
Panel 1: Maia holding up a shirt with the Deathly Hallows logo on it. Maia thinks: âDamn, this really used to be my entire personality.â
Panel 2: The t-shirt gets thrown into the Goodwill box.
PAGE 18
I wrote my zine wrestling with JKRâs legacy in 2019, after her dismissive and racist reaction to indigenous fans and critics of âMagic in North Americaâ and after she had liked a couple transphobic tweets. Since then, she has gotten so much worse.
A Brief Timeline (mostly from this Vox article)
June 2020- JKR posts a 3600 word essay making her anti-trans position clear
August 2020- The Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Org issues a statement about her transphobia, JKR doubles down on her position and returns an award they gave her
December 2020- JKR claims 90% of HP fans secretly agree with her anti-trans views
December 2021- JKR mocks Scottish Police for recognizing transgender identities
March 2022- JKR criticizes gender-inclusive language and legislation
December 2022- JKR retweets trans youtuber Jessie Earlâs critical review of Hogwarts Legacy, starting an onslaught of transphobic harassment towards Earl
December 2022- JKR removes her support from an Edinburgh center for survivors of sexual violence with a trans-inclusive policy and funds her own center which explicitly excludes trans sexual assault survivors
January 2023- JKR tweets âDeeply amused by those telling me Iâve lost their admiration due to disrespect I show violent, duplicitous rapists.â It got nearly 300K likes
March 2023- One the podcast âThe Witch Trials of JK Rowlingâ, hosted by a former Westboro Baptist Church Member, JKR compares the trans rights movement to Death Eaters.
PAGE 19
What are The Witch Trials of JK Rowling?
Panel 1: Maia speaking. âItâs a 7 episode documentary style podcast hosted by Megan Phelps-Roper. Nearly every episode contains interviews with JKR as well as critics, journalists, historians, protestors and fans.
Panel 2: Maia speaking. âIn episode 1, JKR speaks more candidly than she has previously about being in an abusive marriage. Her ex-husband hit her, stalked her, broke into her house overlapping with the time she was writing the first three HP books.â
Panel 3: Maia speaking. âWhat she went through genuinely sounds horrific. I have a lot of sympathy for the kind of life-long traumas those experiences leave.â
PAGE 20
HOWEVER.
It is clear from reading the June 2020 essay on her blog and listening to the podcast, that JKR still to this day feels unsafe. Despite her wealth and privilege she moves through the world with the mindset of a victim. And the group of people she finds most threatening are trans women.
Or rather, she is afraid that allowing trans women in womenâs spaces invites the possibility of male predators entering those spaces.
Hereâs a direct quote: The problem is male violence. All a predator wants is access and to open the doors of changing rooms, rape centers, domestic violence centers [...] to any male who says âIâm a woman and I have a right to be hereâ will constitute a risk to women and girls. - from The Witch Trials episode 4 as transcribed by therowlinglibrary.com, March 2023
Image: A stem of Belladonna with flowers and berries.
PAGE 21
Let me introduce here the term: TRANSMISOGYNY. The intersection of transphobia and misogyny, this term was coined by Julia Serano in 2007. Scout Tran, on tiktok as Queersneverdie said: âTransmisogyny occurs in people who have been previously hurt by traditional misogyny. Who have been driven to hate men or at the very least to be scared of men. They will sometimes take out that rage on trans women. (March 2023)
JKR claims to care for trans women and understand they are extremely vulnerable to assault and violence. In her 2020 Essay she wrote: âI want trans women to be safe. At the same time, I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe.â
So she cares about trans women⌠just less than cis women, and sheâs willing to throw all trans women under the bus because of her unfounded, prejudice fears.
PAGE 22
Panel 1: Maia speaking. âJKR claims to have seen data that proves trans women have presented physical threats to other women in intimate spaces, but never cites sources. She also uses âproducer of the large gametesâ as a definition of âwomanâ.
What about transmen and nonbinary folks?
Panel 2: Maia leaning on a stack of all seven HP books, the first four Cormorant Strike books and The Casual Vacancy, gesturing to a series of quotes with a tired and disgusted expression.
Iâm concerned about the huge explosion of young women wishing to transition and also about the increasing numbers who seem to be detransitioning. * [...] If Iâd been born 30 years later, I too might have tried to transition. The allure of escaping womanhood would have been huge. -June 10 2020 essay
I donât believe a 14 year old can truly understand what the loss of their fertility is.
-Witch Trials episode 4
I havenât yet found a study that hasnât found that the majority of young people experiencing gender dysphoria grow out of it*. -Witch Trials episode 7
*No sources cited
PAGE 23
Itâs hard to over emphasize how fixated JKR has become on these topics. As of the date Iâm writing this, 14 out of her 20 most recent tweets (70%) are in some way anti-trans. She tweets against Mermaids (a UK based trans youth charity), against trans athletes, against gender neutral bathrooms, and in support of LBG Alliance- a UK org that denies trans rights while upholding gay rights. Here are some gems from her archive:
âPeople who menstruate.â Iâm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud? -June 2020
War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman. - December 2021
And in response to someone asking âHow do you sleep at night knowing you lost a whole audience?â
I read my most recent royalty cheques and find the pain goes away pretty quickly. -October 2022
PAGE 24
Hashtag Ruthless Productions a queer nerd podcast company created a great guide on ethical engagement with HP. Image: the two hosts of Hashtag Ruthless productions, Jessie (They/she) and Lark (he/him).
Stop buying all official HP Products: books, movies, games, toys, etc, Universal Studios tickets, food, merch.* Boycott any new TV series or movies. Instead: buy the books and DVDs used. If you still want to wear HP merch, buy fan-made. Engage only with fan content: fic, podcasts, fanart, wizard rock, etc. Show transphobia is bad for business. None of this will change JKRâs mind. But the Fantastic Beast series was canceled and after record Pottermore sales in 2020, they fell in 2022 by 40%.
*She gets a portion of ALL tickets. In 2019, this was her largest income source. Read the full guide: hashtagruthless.com/resourceguide
PAGE 25
As late as 2019, I was still reading JKRâs murder mystery series. But by the fourth book my experience began to sour.
Panel 1: Maia holding a copy of Lethal White. âThe only gay character in this book is a government official who gropes his staff?â
Panel 2: âThe only genderqueer character is misgendered and portrayed as a whiny faker?â
Panel 3: âThe only Muslim character is disowned by his family over gay rumors?â
Panel 4: âEven the women arenât portrayed very wellâŚâ
Panel 5: âWhy is the main female character defined by the rape in her past?â
Panel 6: âWait, what happens in the rest of this seriesâŚ?â Maia scrolls on eir phone.
Panel 7: âIs the series heading towards an employee/boss relationship?â
Panel 8: âAnd has a man wearing womenâs clothes to commit assault?â
Panel 9: âYeah, Iâm done. Iâm never reading a new JKR book ever again.â
PAGE 26
And as for JKR herself?
As tempting as it might be to tweet your frustrations at her, I donât recommend it. In 2021, she tweeted, âHundreds of trans activists have threatened to beat, rape, assassinate and bomb me.â Getting hate online feeds her sense of victimhood and she waves it as proof of her moral high ground. Instead I suggest you block her on twitter, then delete twitter, go to the library and try to find a new book that feels magical.
Stack of books: In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan, The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater, Gifts by Ursula K Le Guin, Deep Wizardry by Diane Duane, A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik and Gideon the Ninth by Tamsin Muir.
PAGE 27
In âEmergent Strategyâ adrienne maree brown writes: You do not have the right to traumatize abusive people, to attack them, personally or publicly, or to sabotage anyone elseâs health. The behaviors of abuse are also survival-based, learned behaviors rooted in pain. If you can look through the lens of compassion, you will find hurt and trauma there. If you are the abused party, healing that hurt is not your responsibility and exacerbating that pain is not your justified right.
PAGE 28
Seeing anyone over age 12 wearing HP merch now makes me uncomfortable. Are they ignorant or actively a TERF? I hate wondering how much money JKR has probably poured into anti-trans legislation⌠This zine is a culmination of my slow breakup with a story that once brought me joy. Now it just makes me angry, tired and sad.

Personal Remarks:
Creating this list was quite a huge task for me. It also made me appreciate the author's hard work, given that she had to write the novel while having family and health problems.
This list was limited to the Korean and English-speaking audiences because finding information about official translations of the novel or webtoon adaptation in other languages was difficult, especially researching the exact dates.
Some personal bias was also involved in the creation of this list. Adar Terra should actually not be included here because it was a fandom thing and not an official one. Unless you count me getting the DMCA notice from the official publisher as an "official" thing. đ
And that's it. This list will continue to be updated as more official events happen. If you know of other official events related to the novel that I missed, please share it in the comments! Thank you! đĽ°

15 Facts About E. Jean Carrollâs Allegations Against Trump the Media Donât Want You to Know
1.  Bergdorf Goodman has no surveillance video of the alleged incident.
2. There are zero witnesses to the alleged sexual attack.
3.  Carroll first came forward â conveniently â with the allegations while promoting her book What Do We Need Men For? in 2019, which featured a list of âThe Most Hideous Men of My Life.â
4. Carroll was unable to remember when this alleged attack even occurred. She told her lawyer in 2023, âThis question, the when, the when, the date, has been something Iâve [been] constantly trying to pin down.â She has jumped years â originally beginning with 1994, then moving to 1995, and even floating to 1996. She cannot remember the season in which the alleged attack occurred either.
5. The Donna Karan blazer dress she claims to have worn during the alleged incident was not even available at the time of her claims. Trump Attorney Boris Epshteyn told reporters, âShe said, âThis is the dress I wore in 1994.â They went back, they checked. The dress wasnât even made in 1994.â
âAnd thatâs why the dateâs moved around. This is the 80s. Is it the 90s? Is it the 2000s? President Trump has consistently stated that he was falsely accused, and he has the right to defend himself,â he added.
6.  She never came forward with these allegations over the years despite constantly being open about sexuality, posting things that were very sexual in nature on social media â many of which Trump has shared. They include remarks such as âHow do you know your âunwanted sexual advanceâ is unwanted, until you advance it?â and âSex Tip I Learned From My Dog: When in heat, chase the male until he collapses with exhaustion ⌠then jump him!â
7.  She said she was never raped, telling the New York Timesâ podcast, The Daily,âEvery woman gets to choose her word. Every woman gets to choose how she describes it. This is my way of saying it. This is my word. My word is âfight.â My word is not the âvictimâ word. I have not â I have not been raped,â she continued. âI have â something has not been done to me. I fought. Thatâs the thing.â
8.  She named her cat âVagina.â âHer dog, or her cat, was named âVagina.â The judge wouldnât allow us to put that in â all of these things â but with her, they could put in anything: Access Hollywood,â Trump told CNN.
9.  Joe Tacopina, an attorney for Trump, pointed out in May 2023 that Carrollâs entire story has incredible similarities to a 2012 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In that episode, titled âTheatre and Tricks,â an individual talks about a rape fantasy in Bergdorf Goodman â the same department store where Carroll claims the incident took place.
10. Speaking of shows, Carroll loved Trumpâs show The Apprentice.
âI was a big fan of the show. Very impressed by it,â Carroll said on the witness stand, adding that she âhad never seen such a witty competition on TV, and it was about something worthwhile, competing.â
11.  Carroll made a joke associating sex with Bergdorf Goodman in a November 1993 edition of Elle, which was before the alleged Trump attack took place. As Breitbart News detailed:
Carroll was responding to a letter from a female reader concerned that she was having trouble achieving orgasm through sexual intercourse alone while the reader said that she could climax through foreplay. âIs there any way I could learn to reach orgasm through sex?â asked the reader in the November 1993 edition. âMaybe books I could read?â Carroll replied with the following advice (emphasis added): Dear Snowed Under: Stop flagellating yourself. Gadzooks! At least you have orgasms. And if that isnât spontaneous sex I donât know what is. Most women (about 70 percent) experience difficulties climaxing through intercourse alone. So youâre perfectly normal. Begin by reading For Yourself by Dr. Lonnie Barbach. Sheâll give you excellent instructions on how to have an orgasm during intercourse. Then after 313 queenhell love-wiggles, move on to Gretta Garboâs favorite love position â the top. (In erotic scenes, Garbo is always above the man. So are Sharon Stone, Bette Midler and Katherine Hepburn). Indeed, this location works better for women than the fourth floor of Bergdorfâs.
12.  Carroll is financially backed by anti-Trump Democrat megadonor Reid Hoffman, who has openly admitted to visiting convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epsteinâs private island.
13. Democrat party activists back her as well, as Breitbart News detailed:
Indeed, one of Carrollâs attorneys is Roberta Kaplan â a Democrat Party activist who led the group Timeâs Up. She left the activist group after it was revealed she was aiding former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in attempting to discredit the Democratâs accusers. It served as a great irony as Timeâs Up seeks to defend women from what it claims is discrimination and harassment. This fact has led to mounting speculation that Kaplan only gets involved in cases that she views as politically expedient. Further, Federal District Judge Lewis Kaplan is overseeing the process and has connections to Carrollâs other attorney, Shawn Crowley. She was actually a law clerk for Judge Kaplan, and he officiated her wedding. That aside, Trump has denied knowing the left-wing activist as the only evidence of any contact is a single picture with Carroll greeting Trump and his ex-wife Ivana at an event greeting line over 35 years ago. Carroll has yet to provide solid evidence of this alleged encounter and will not use the dress that she claims had DNA on it from this alleged incident. Even Trump publicly said the dress should be part of the case. Further, there are no eyewitnesses of this alleged incident, which supposedly occurred at the popular New York City department store.
14.  The lawsuit was only able to proceed after Democrats created the Adult Survivors Act in 2022. She conveniently pursued this suit in November following the law going into effect, which allowed her to avoid the statute of limitations for this case.
15. Carroll once said, âMost people think of rape as sexy.â
Donald Trump Jr. also retweeted a list of facts about Carroll, urging others to take a look:
- She couldn't recall the date, month, season, or year the incident happened -
She never told anyone about it, despite being publicly obsessed with her own sexuality -
The dress she claims to have been wearing didn't exist at the time -
Her description of the dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman was inaccurate, making her sequence of events impossible -
Her lawsuit was bankrolled by Jeffrey Epstein pal and Democrat (and Nikki Haley) mega-donor Reid Hoffman -
Democrats created a law (The Adult Survivors Act in 2022) to enable her lawsuit to proceed - Her accusation is the exact plotline of an episode of Law & Order (one of her "favorite shows") -
Trump's Apprentice was also one of her favorite shows -
She has a history of falsely accusing men of r*pe, including Les Moonves - She told Anderson Cooper, "most people think of r*pe as being sexy. Think of the fantasies." -
She made a career promoting promiscuity, even writing glowingly of sexual assault and naming her cat Vagina
We owe Stalin and Hitler a huge apology. We are ever so bad as they ever were. This isn't Justice. Its punishment for for disobeying the deep state elites.

Joker Out Masterpost for new fans
New fan of Joker Out? Say no more!Â
Getting to know a new artist youâve found can be intimidating if itâs all in another language, so weâve compiled some of our favourite interviews, articles and lore here! Youâve arrived in a wonderful fanbase, welcome from all of us here at JokerOutSubs!Â
If youâd just like a short overview of the band and their history, you can watch this excellent Finnish summary of them that weâve translated (14m 53s).
youtube
But if you want to dive into the details, then check out our timeline, full of videos and articles translated by JokerOutSubs!Â
Timeline graphic:
Timeline in details below the cut đ
Timeline in details:Â
How did the band form?Â
Joker Out was formed from two bands, Apokalipsa and BurĹžuazija.Â
Apokalipsa included Bojan CvjetiÄanin (vocals), Martin JurkoviÄ (bass) and Matic KovaÄiÄ (drums)Â
They gained some traction with young people around Slovenia, particularly with their song 'MogoÄe' ('Maybe'), which you can watch on YouTube here.
They came to the attention of Kris GuĹĄtin, who was inspired to start learning guitar! He discusses the details in this video (at 9:40).Â
Kris then met Jan Peteh, another student of his guitar teacher, and at their teachers advice, they formed the band BurĹžuazija.Â
Bojan attended their second ever gig in 2016, and decided these two excellent guitarists were exactly what had been missing from Apokalipsa, as he wasnât happy with their current guitarists. He asked them to join, and they accepted
The new lineup (Bojan, Jan, Kris, Martin and Matic) decided to rename themselves Joker Out. The name means nothing, but they thought it sounded good and was the âleast horribleâ of all the ideas they could think of.Â
So, in 2016, Joker Out was officially formed!Â
November 2016, Kot srce ki kri poganja:Â
Joker Outâs first music video was for their song âKot srce ki kri poganjaâ ('Like a heart that pumps blood'), filmed in Janâs hometown of Vrhnika! We eventually got this song on Spotify on their 2023 album Live from Arena StoĹžice!
Music video: Kot srce ki kri poganja
English Interview (from 3:37 to 6:05): Joker Out discusses filming the music video
June 2017, Ĺ pil Liga:
One of the earliest performances for Joker Out was at Ĺ pil Liga, a competition for young bands in Slovenia. They won, and recorded their winning song, Omamljeno telo (intoxicated body) in November as part of the prize.Â
Live (33m): Joker Out at Ĺ pil liga
Interview (5m): Reflections on Ĺ pil Liga in 2023Â
c.2017/18, Bojanâs attempt at going solo:
The band took a hiatus c.2017/18, and Bojan considered going solo at that time, even working with a few producers. He eventually realised that he belonged with the band! Hear him tell the story:
Reel (1m 23s): A1 Vajb - Bojanâs fail
2019, A change up for the band:
The band began working with their current producer, Ĺ˝are Pak, and their videographer Mark Pirc, in 2019 - both of whom have been referred to as the sixth member of the band. This led to a change in their sound and production quality, which culminated in âGolaâ ('Naked'), the first of their songs to be a big hit!
Music video: Gola
Zlata piĹĄÄal ('Golden Flute') - Best New Artist 2019:
Joker Out won their first Zlata piĹĄÄal award in 2019, for best new artist (one of many theyâd go on to win!) This is a kind of Slovenian Grammy! Covid interrupted the proceedings, but you can see their interview for it here (3m 59s)-Â
Interview: Joker Out wins a Zlata piĹĄÄal ('Golden Flute') for Best New Artist 2019
Umazane misli, and a new member:Â
During the Covid times, the band began recording their first studio album, 'Umazane misli' ('Dirty thoughts'), which was originally going to be released in March 2020 but was repeatedly delayed until October 2021. The first half was recorded with drummer Matic KovaÄiÄ, but the band felt they needed something extra and brought in Jure MaÄek to help write the arrangements. They loved him so much, he never left!Â
Interview (from 10:40 to 11:36): Bojan talks briefly about Jure joining the band
COVID times, and CvetliÄarna:Â
The band had arranged to do two concerts at CvetliÄarna, a very important venue in Slovenia and a big break for them. This was delayed several times due to Covid, but eventually managed to go ahead in October 2021 for the release of their first album.Â
Video (1m 14s): CvetliÄarna promotional video
Live (1h 28m): Joker Out at CvetliÄarna
Interview (34m 55s): Bojan discusses CvetliÄarna, its importance, and Covid

'Umazane misli' was extremely well received! The band would go on to win two more Zlata piĹĄÄal awards, Newcomers of the Year in 2020 and Artist of the Year in 2021.
Interview (37m 08s): Umazane misli album presentation
An acting career for Bojan?Â
Around the same time as 'Umazane misli' was released, Bojan began considering an acting career. He acted in two episodes of the series âGospod Professorâ and in another series, which was eventually reworked as a film called âKaj pa Esterâ and released in December 2023. He decided music was his passion though, and he wanted to fully focus on that.Â

Thankfully, he was replaced by the wonderful Nace Jordan, who remains the bassist in the current lineup.

Mornings | Jaehyun
summary: fluff, a collection of mornings with Jaehyun over the years as you spend your lives together. word count: 1,127
Saturday August 10, 2019 [7:18 am]
You woke up, having hardly gotten any sleep, but energized as ever. Today you were meeting up with your boyfriend, Jaehyun. You two had just made everything official and your heart was so happy.
You go into the bathroom to do your skincare, and when you walk back into your room, you notice a good morning text from him.
Jaehyun: "Good morning baby! Can't wait to see you today <3"
A single text shouldn't make you this filled with joy, but it's from Jaehyun, so of course it does.
Y/n: "I can't wait either! Do you think we could also get some ice cream afterwards?"
Jaehyun: "We'll do anything you want angel"
You flop back onto your unmade bed, your thoughts filled with how lucky you feel to be Jaehyun's girl. You start to get giggly because you know that, by the end of the date he's going to cup your face into his hands and tell you how pretty he thinks you are, like he always does.
⸝
Sunday November 10th, 2019 [1:17 am]
You were supposed to be at home, already asleep in bed by now, but you and Jaehyun didn't want to leave each other. Each of you making excuses to prolong your date. Now it's one in the morning and you're on a walk, the street lit up by the moonlight. Each step you take, now unconsciously synced with his. Jaehyun hasn't let go of your hand once, and you wish that he never would. While you were enjoying your stroll, his mind was racing, thinking of how to tell you. He knew in his heart that you felt the same way about him, so he decided it would be best to just tell you outright. "Y/n?" He says, with a hint of nervousness in his voice.
You both stop and turn to face each other, knowing from the tone in his voice that he needs to tell you something important. "I love you." Words cannot describe how your heart feels in this moment. The way he's looking at you, like you're the most precious person in the world to him, was making you melt. "You love me?" You say with a teasing smile, tilting your head slightly. "So much y/n. I can hardly take it." He says, breathlessly. You stand up on your tippy toes and give him the biggest kiss you've ever given him. "I love you too, Jaehyun."
⸝
Sunday December 15th, 2019 [9:12 am]
The slight movement of Jaehyun cuddling more into you was the reason you had woken up. You move to get into a more comfortable position, causing Jaehyun to wrap his arm tighter around you. âIâm sorry baby, did I wake you up?â Jaehyun says with his morning voice that you couldnât get enough of. âHm, itâs okay. I love cuddling with you in the mornings.â Jaehyun nuzzles his head into your neck, âMe too, baby.â You fall back asleep, thinking about how excited you were that itâs almost your six month anniversary together. You canât believe that youâve been together for that long, the time feeling like it was going by so fast.Â
⸝
Friday April 16, 2021 [7:32 am]
You knew something was up. You weren't sure what, but Jaehyun and all your friends and family had been acting strange for the past month. Like they all knew something you didn't.
You had just gotten a promotion at work, so maybe they all came together to plan a surprise party for you. But that's not really something you would enjoy and they all know that, so you really had no clue what it could be.
Today, Jaehyun was taking you out on a fancy dinner date, so whatever was going on definitely wasn't happening today.
"Good morning, angel." Jaehyun says, once he sees that you're awake. He's carrying a suit that he must have just picked up from the dry cleaners.
"Did you buy a brand new suit for our dinner?" You ask, confused.
"Yeah." He shrugs, as if getting a new suit was no big deal. As if he didn't have to spend days finding the right one for the special occasion. As if he didn't get the suit tailored to fit him exactly the way he knows you like.
You had more questions, but Jaehyun distracted you from them all by climbing into bed with you and giving you a million little kisses. You were in heaven whenever he did this.
Little did you know, that in only a couple of hours he was going to be down on one knee, in the park that you two visited during your first date, asking you to make him the happiest man on earth.
⸝
Monday May 16, 2022 [10:35 am]
You woke up with the waves coming from right outside your hotel window. You feel around the bed and notice that Jaehyun must have already gotten up. You hear a sound in the bathroom and know that he just got finished with his morning shower. He comes out of the bathroom with a white robe on, his hair wet and messy, but you donât think youâve ever seen anyone as handsome in your life. âCan you believe we got married two days ago, Jae?â You ask, unapologetically staring him down. âNo, I can't." He says, jumping back under the covers with you. "Did my beautiful wife have a good night's sleep?â You rest your chin on his now bear chest. âYes, I did.â He strokes your hair as he looks down at you. âShould we sleep in on the first day of our honeymoon?â You nod your head yes, adamantly. You come up to press a kiss onto his lips and he cups your face into his hands and kisses you back. He pulls away, but just for a moment to ask you a question. âDo you know how beautiful you are y/n?â
⸝
Monday May 8th, 2028 [7:23 am]
âMommy!â You hear as your oldest hops onto your bed, waking you up. âMommy, happy mothers day!â She presses kisses all over you, making sure that you're fully awake. âThank you sweetheart.â You say, sitting up so you can give her a hug and another kiss. She giggles in your arms and gets close to your ear like she has a secret to tell you.
"We made you something." She whispers.
Soon after, Jaehyun walks through the door, balancing your youngest in one arm and a stack of pancakes in the other.
âHappy mothers day, angel.â Jaehyun tells you as he sits the pancakes down on the bed and leans over to give you a sweet kiss.

Your thoughts on this folks?
Americans have been watching a massive, controlled Military Operation who strategically and critically planned and successfully trapped the Washington Establishment⌠Made them all confess their crimes and play a role in this operation piece by piece⌠as Americans have had to visually see and witness a âContinuation of Governmentâ in the form of a âPresidential Administrationâ where these corrupt and evil people will, have, and will continue to destroy their system from within, spend all of their dirty money doing so, until itâs time for the Military to visually step in.
The timelines all add up and prove the Military Operation and Occupancy:

The National Guard has been out of their state militia status and operating as Active-Duty Status every day since they were Federalized in March 2020.
Thereâs MORE than enough documentation and âproofâ to show not only the National Guard, but also thousands of World Alliance Aircrafts in and out of the United States and National Guard bases.
Thereâs United States Coast Guards with United States Navy at their stations. USCG is Department of Homeland Security during Peacetime and transferred to the Department of the Navy during Wartime.
The Brunson vs. Adams case simply states the obvious⌠Congress violated the Constitution.
- Benjamin Fulford
I will add; everyone thinks they know what's going on but very few have done any research on Trump's executive orders. Everyone has discarded Q because they have seen dates come and go without seeing any results. Fact is they weren't dates but rather chapters and paragraphs from the law of war manual.
We're going by the Book. Why? Because it has to be done by the rule of law, if not, it's just more crimes being committed.

TOP TEN BUGSNAX HIDDEN SECRETS AND FUN FACTS:
Some totally WILD things that YOU might have never known about BUGSNAX!
1. The first Bugsnak created was Rootle, as confirmed in some 2019 interviews with Young Horses. It was also supposed to be the mascot for the series, but Paletoss was the far more cuter mascot.
2. Grumpuses as a species are just genetically modified humans, created eons ago (2016). They were all told to leave Earth, and now all live on the planet the game takes place on. This will be a major plotpoint in Bugsnax 5: We Know The Bugs Are Parasites Again, coming out in 2040.
3. If you jump over the shorter grumpuses (Gramble, Beffica, Wambus, etc), your friendship points with them will go down, and you'll get a stern talking to. Be nice!!!!!!!
4. The player can actually solve the Frosted Peak door puzzle before Major Celebration. Doing this makes 75% of the late game events completely useless, and most of the grumpuses have a high chance of dying. But HEY, you get to find Lizbert!
5. When searching through the game files, you can find models meant for every type of bug and every type of snack that shows up in this game as Bugsnax. Next to Bunger's model files, for example, you'll be able to see a fully modeled cheeseburger and rhinoceros beetle. Really shows you how dedicated these devs were!
6. Cromdo is gay
7. Much like the hidden Triplicate Message in Boiling Bay before the Isle of Bigsnax dlc, when you click Triffany's photobook in her and Wambus' hut, you'll get a message saying "Bronica's Tragic Awful Backstory Is NOT Finished, Now PLEASE Look Away!!!" with a silhouette of Bronica's sticker next to it.
8. The game was set to be released all the way back in 2007, but it was pushed back because Adolescent Horses couldn't figure out what the name for that silly blue guy should be. They went through hundreds, possibly thousands of name choices all those years, but couldn't find one that truly fit that guy. In November 2020, just 2 days before the game released, they got it! They're gonna name that blue guy Philbo.
9. The real villain of the game is that one Flamin' Cheepoof found in Boiling Bay. It may not seem obvious to you, but after listening to what those Old Horses have to say, you'll get it.
10. On the first day of the fourth month of the year 2024, some person with a blog will give out some strange but interesting information about Bugsnax. Don't know why they all waited four years to reveal this information, but whatever.
The TOTALLY REAL and RELIABLE sources for all of these facts have all been compiled into THIS VIDEO! Wow!

Luz is actually 13 at the start of the Owl House and here's why (Owl House timeline analysis).
Please read!!! đđ
Ok, so I've been rewatching the owl house recently through Danny Motta's videos on YouTube, and it got me to thinking about the years the owl house takes place in and the logistics of the BI and Earth time zones. So, I made an analysis:
*SPOILERS BELOW*
First off, let's talk about Luz.
When you look up Luz's age online, it says that Luz is canonically 14 years old in the show. But when you look at the events of the show (*Spoilers sorry*), we see that Luz is celebrating her birthday on the BI, and we see Eda say this line:
Ok, no big deal, right? Well, if we look at the events of the show, we know that the kids were in the Human realm for a while. It was fall in the human realm when the kids arrived after the day of Unity. After the montage of them in the Human realm, it is shown to be Halloween. This means that they would have been in the Human realm for a little under a year, meaning it doesn't make sense that Eda would say that line because Luz would have already turned 15 during that year in the Human realm while the collector was controlling the BI.
So, for this timeline, I'm gonna reference @drachenfalter's calendar analysis (check it out, it's great). In this analysis, they use this picture of a BI calendar.
We see here that the calendar has 42 days in a month, and so their analysis shows that the BI would have 9 months in a year instead of 12, meaning the time zones don't change, but the calendar is longer (hence, why Luz can text her mom in the same time zone).
For Luz's birthday, there is no specific birthday stated for her, but for the sake of the post, I'm gonna head cannon it to be April 8th because that is the day Watching and dreaming came out. Watching and dreaming came out in 2023, and there is a 3-year timeskip at the end, with Luz having graduated High school already in the human realm and preparing to start college in the BI. If we assume that the timeskip takes place in that modern day in 2023, then that would mean that Belos's final defeat takes place in 2020, and the start of the show would have taken place not in 2020, when the show came out, but in 2019, 1 year prior, explaining Luz's narration at the end.
With that in mind, here is my timeline Headcannon.
Luz- 13 years old at the start of the show finishing 8th grade.
Time: Mid-May or beginning of June 2019.
Luz birthday: April 8th (H.C.)
Luz turns 13, finished 8th grade, Camilla sends luz to camp; Luz leaves for BI in Mid-May (March for BI), 2019.
Luz learns magic, attends Hexside, dates Amity in the span of 5 BI months, 7 Earth Months. (It is fall when Luz finds Vee and returns home after the day of Unity).
Luz fights Belos and goes back to the Human realm in November 2019 (September for BI).
The Hexsquad go live in human realm for 1 calendar year, give or take.
- Luz goes back to school, the gang experiences the different seasons in the Human realm montage in Thanks to Them, time jump ends at Halloween.
Luz turns 14 during this time in 2020, and is a sophomore in high school in Thanks to Them (reminder: there is no pandemic in the Owl house universe)
The Hexsquad fights Belos again and goes back to the BI on Halloween in 2020 (End of August/Beg. of September for BI).
The Hexsquad saves the BI in November 2020 (September for BI).
*Timeskip 3 years later*
Luz turns 15 in 2021, spends it rebuilding the Isles.
Luz turns 16 in 2022
Luz turns 17 in 2023, reaches the end of senior year, graduates' high school in the human realm with Vee.
The finale takes place on April 8th, 2023 (February for BI).
- Luz turns 17, celebrates her "King-ceaĂąera".
Luz goes to magic university in the BI in 2023.
- Luz's move in date for school is shown to be August 21st in "Watching and Dreaming", which would be June for the BI, meaning that Luz will have left for school 3-4 months early since she is also shown to be packing in the episode.
Ok, so one last thing to note, with this timeline, the finale would take place in 2023, and Luz would be celebrating her 17th birthday in the BI. This means that Luz would have still been a legal minor when starting college. My head cannon is that Camilla allowed Luz to stay with Eda and Raine for the 3-4 months before starting school, and constantly checked in on Luz during her time in the dorms before turning 18 (as well as long after, of course:)). Eda and Raine would likely also coparent to make sure that Luz was keeping up with her move in process and magic studies.
Anyway, that's my timeline analysis for the Owl house! Hope y'all like it! (I also have other Head cannons for the ages of the other Hexsquad members that go with this timeline if y'all wanna know).

Women's Hockey Roundup: October
Woof, I fell off of these for a while. Blame baseball and college! Anyway, I'm going to just do what happened in women's hockey in October (and maybe the last few days of September) for all leagues. This is only confirmed news and games, so rumors are not included
If you're new, i recap the top stories from around club play women's hockey (so not collegiate) and try to give more detail on european women's hockey, since that's less reported on in north america :-) Feel free to add if i miss anything!
PWHL (USA/Canada)
The PWHL schedule has been released! We have a few TBD's in venues, most likely for playing select games in bigger venues or neutral sites. we do not currently have streaming/television info, so stay tuned for that. There will be a preseason, but not open to the public.
Training Camp Begins November 12, with preseason/mini camps The 19-22. New York's training camp roster is here. Boston's is here. Minnesota's is here. Montreal is here. Ottawa's is here. Toronto's is here.
Nov. 27: Deadline to finalize rosters of 23 players and 3 reserves
Abigail Boreen signed a three year deal with the MontrĂŠal Victoire. She played with the Minnesota Frost last year, including in the playoffs, as a reserve player.
Ronja Savolainen signed a three year deal with the Ottawa Charge. She played with Luleä most recently and is a star of the Finnish national team.
Sarah Lefort, most recently with MontrĂŠal Victoire, has announced her retirement
The PWHL has begun the process of expansion for 2025-2026, targeting two new cities
SDHL (Sweden)
Fanni Garåt-Gasparics signs with Brynäs IF, though is still rehabbing the injury she sustained last year with the Ottawa Charge
Dutch national team legend Savine Wielenga signs with Leksands IF
Rookie Reece Hunt of Luleä is out for the season with a torn knee ligament
FrĂślunda general manager Kim Martin Hassons is extended to 2028, and head coach Erika Holst is extended to 2026. FrĂślunda has been massively successful thus far this year, currently in second place in the standings and coming off a big win against firs place LulĂŤa
While Luleä and FrÜlunda are at the top of the table, MoDo is making noise in third place, having won six of their last eight.
A couple key story lines: -> Finish National Team forward, Elisa Holopainen (FrÜlunda) is lighting the league on fire in her first year in the SDHL. She has 9 goals and ten assists in 13 games -> We have a few wonderful comeback stories this year. Hanna Olsson (FrÜlunda) is back to her old self after missing most of last year with injury, with 16 points in 13 games, good for fourth in the league. Erica Reider, (Luleä) who did not play for two seasons, looks like she never left, currently leading all defenders i the league in points. And Kassidy SauvÊ (SDE), who missed almost two full season's with a hip injury, currently leads all goaltenders in save percentage. -> MoDo Hockey is being powered almost entirely by a youth movement: top producers Ebba Hedqvist, AdÊla Šapovalivovå, Mira Hallin, and Lovisa EngstrÜm are all 18 or younger and playing prominent roles on the 3rd place team
Auroraliiga (Finland)
Canadian Emma Hall joins KalPa after playing in the NDHL (Sweden's second division) last year
Kärpät will retire the number 20 in honor of long time legend Saija Tarkki. After 21 seasons with Kärpät as well as the Finnish national team, Tarkki retired in 2019. She will be honored Novembe 23rd.
A Couple key storylines: -> 18 year old Czech forward Barbora JuĹĂÄkovĂĄ i having a breakout year with HPK, already surpassing her point total from last season with 22. She joins Emma Ekoluoma (Ilves), who was a star on the U18 Finnish team last year, as one of the young players to keep an eye on in this league -> Kiekko-Espoo sits at the top of the table, with Ilves right behind. Last year's champions HIFK are feeling the loss of several star players and sit in fourth place. -> Sister's Jennika , Joanna and Jatta Ojala all played for the same team together for the first time at the top level for Team Kuortane
SWHL A / Postfinance Women League (Switzerland)
Not technically league play, but since they play in this league too ill put it here: EV Zug won the EWHL Euro Cup, which is played at the beginning of the season including select club teams across europe! They bear the German league's Memmingen to do so. Noemi Neubauerova, who is set to play with the Toronto Sceptres when the PWHL game begins, scored the game winning goal
Sponsor PostFinance announces that in 2025/2026, they will only financially support men's club teams that have a women's counterpart
Nadine Hofstetter of EV Zug is out three weeks with a broken finger. She is one of the team's veteran defenders who also plays for the Swiss national team. Vanessa Ryhner, Nina Harju, and Julia Näf are also out with injury for EV Zug, though Rhyner should be back any day now.
ZSC Lions Fraun is hit with injuries: Slovakian forward Tereza Lahova is out for the year with injury, and Aurela Thalmann and Alena PolenskĂĄ (aka Alena Mills) are also injured. They are calling up Univ. of Saskatchewan alumni Sophie Lalor
A few storylines: -> Elizabeth Lang (HC Davos Ladies) is leading the league in points in her rookie year and scoring at a goal per game pace. She graduated from University of Calgary last year -> Lara Stalder (EVZ Women's team) continues to do Lara Stalder things and is tied with Lang in goals, but newcomers Michaela PejzlovĂĄ (HC AmbrĂŹ-Piotta Girls) and Clara Rozier (SC Bern Fraun) who were stars in last year's finnish league are close behind. The top scorer race for this league will be exciting, and that's not to mention old friends like Rahel Enzler and Estelle Duvin, among others. -> HC Davos Ladies is currently at the top of the standings, but EV Zug and SC Bern Frauen are very close behing them -> 18 year old Ivana Wey (EVZ Women's Team) has been off to a blistering hot start, a lot of hype surrounding her after a strong performance at both u18 and senior worlds. Another interesting young player is Lucie Tenenbaum, an American set to play at Minnesota State next year but is spending this year in Switzerland. The 18 year old has 5 goals and two assists with HC Davos Ladies so far
