Neil had been on his knees after Andrew’s final game, helmet off as he caught his breath and tried not to cry. They’d won against the Ravens and it had felt poetic and Neil had been glad to send Andrew off as a champion again but there was also the crushing feeling that this chapter of his and Andrew’s life was over.

He hadn’t even paid attention to the Backliner coming up.

“The Petito’s would like to send Lord Moriyama their regards. Tell Riko I finished what he couldn’t.” 

Neil looked up and saw some random Backliner from the Ravens swinging down with his racquet.

Then Neil was shoved off and Andrew was laying where Neil’s corpse should have been.

The next few hours had been a blur, different tests, statements, calls from the FBI, Wymack’s hand on his shoulder, calls from Kevin, and…

A call from Ichirou Moriyama.

“The Petito family’s mole has been dealt with.”

All while Aaron was snarling at him that this was his fault, that he was going to lose his brother because of Neil and for once…Neil listened to his least favorite Minyard.

He hung his head, “I know.” Neil agreed.

“Then stop fucking up his life! Stop making plans like you have a future!” Aaron screams, “Don’t drag him into hell with you.”

Neil shook his head, he knew that Andrew had made his choice but … but Neil could still make his own choice. Andrew would respect his ‘no’.

oc-tober day 5: re-designed oc!

all of the signoise crew has been redesigned many, many times over the years, but jackie's progression is often my favorite. they used to be some sarcastic little annoying twink....they used to be the MAIN CHARACTER??? and now they are a leatherworker with 3 kids and are the most normal person in possibly the entire cast. and definitely NOT the main character.
