🧜🏻♀️What’s Your Signature Style? ♦︎ Timeless Pick A Card
I promise you that you can be “THE” SLAYEST when you rock a style that is your own. A style—or styles—that is your own is one that reflects outwardly the core essence of your Soul Expression.
If you know yourself, and acknowledge your unique Light, there is not a trend or fad in this mortal realm that could ever shake your confidence in what you’re already doing!
Remember, trend-makers are never individuals known to follow trends to begin with! Are you a satisfied with yourself for being a trend-follower? Gosh, that's such loser NPC behaviour. I know you're so much more than that, you su-su-su-Superbeing❣️❣️

Pile 1 – Bitch Barbie
VIBE: Jackie (2016)

core spiritual essence – Knight of Wands Rx
YOLO, Spiritual Gangsta! You’re a badass bitch who’s actually a lot nastier and vainer than outer appearances may give LMAO You’re such a drama queen, too. You wake up in the morning and ready to stir up some shit. You’re naughty. You’re playful. You’re creative and a bit of a prankster to the detriment of some of your closest friends. And if you have an enemy, you’re the type that’d pour gasoline on their motorbike and let them catch fire on their own!
You really like colourful stuff. Since you were a kid, you’ve always been interested in cute or weird shapes and bling knickknacks. Colours and shapes are integral to your fashion expression as a means to let your passion through. From another angle, this is also how you show people not to take you lightly. You’re attracted to weird or bold shapes and vibrant colours because they also send word to the outer world that you’re not one to mess with.
You LOVE being seen as a weirdo. It benefits you to be seen as a BITCH, too. This is a form of self-preservation AND protection. You want to weed off boring people who are only there to feed off your precious spiritual creative aenergy! You’re the school’s boss bitch who says, ‘You can’t sit with us,’ to practically everybody because you value only strong and weird, high-quality bitches who are just like you. Deep at your core, you keep to your tribe and will protect them with your Life <3
people’s first impression – XIV Temperance
You’re an enigmatic character who’s admired and feared at the same time. Because you have such a strong presence, unbeatable charisma, people can’t help but be attracted to your aenergy. And for the most part, you’re really somebody who has a pleasant smile and good manners. People’s first projection of you might be along the lines of being a good gal LMAO You seem at first glace a temperate person who adheres to social protocols. I mean, that’s only because you’re chill~
But try and get on your bad side? The psychopath takes over. You’re very serious when working towards your goals and you don’t like it when people bother you with unwarranted criticisms or unsolicited advice. You like figuring things out yourself unless you ask for other people’s opinions. When people see this side of you, then they understand you’re not all that friendly or welcoming and that they’ve been blinded by their own expectations.
From afar, people can tell you’re meant for great things in this Life. Since you’re quite unapproachable to many, they may never say this to you but they gossip amongst themselves and speculate about what such a unique person like you could achieve in this world. They shudder when thinking about all your potentials! How can such a smart badass even be real?? It feels so unfair…
fatal attraction! – Ace of Pentacles
You’re the type that should never buy fake designer items. Buying cheap-ass things that are your style is one thing, but buying fake luxury items? NAH, NO. Your Venus will cry. Check out what your Venus sign says about your values as a person and try to match your fashion style with that. For the majority of you tuning into this Pile, being bold in all the ways that suit you is the way to go. Price is not necessarily key here, it’s boldness that plays into your self-expression.
You’re the kind of person who can wear colours and accessories that usually will make other people look like clowns XD People wonder what enables you to pull off those strange colours, shapes or combinations, not knowing it’s your CONFIDENCE in yourself being able to pull them off that makes them work. It’s the RIZZ, baby~ No matter what you look like, no matter your size and skin colour, you have the power to make WHATEVER you wear on you look like something they show on the runway.
I betcha you get a lot of requests to model for your photographer friends? XD Some of you reading this have even modelled casually before. And some of you are meant to be scouted into the modelling or fashion industry in general! If not to that degree, you’re still the kind of person who could make occasional appearances on fashion magz or insta or have your face be a poster for something quite creative. You should charge good prices for your contribution to people being able to sell their shit! v$o$v

Pile 2 – Brooding Maniac
VIBE: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

core spiritual essence – 4 of Cups
You one spooky bitch XD But truly, your Soul is full of colours if only people could see it! It’s just that these are colours most people won’t understand or even approve of. You possess the ability to feel and process immensely complex emotions as well as thoughts. It’s more like you think in feelings even if you identify as someone very logical. Your emotions often get heavy if you don’t learn to control them. And…you’ve really taken it to quite an extreme how well you can control or suppress your emotions now.
Some of you reading this probably have strong Earth placements, especially Capricorn, but could also have some Scorpio and Aquarius influences. The way you feel your emotions is quiet and almost…jaded. I think your Soul gets easily tired by Humans for their lack of intelligence but also for their lack of appreciation for different varieties of Beauty. You think most people are narrow-minded; just thinking about it is super exhausting.
That’s why you don’t easily show your colours to everybody. People’s disapproval of the depths of your emotions could kill your spirit on a daily basis. You’d rather not deal with that, so then you chose to sport a lot of black in your outer appearance. You could also be the type that chooses solid or ‘dull’ colours like grey or white, essentially to just…not tell people anything. The only other way you actually show your emotions, in a subtle way, is through some colours that could be found in your accessories and…HAIR <3
At least some of you dream of having colourful hair if only your society or workplace would allow that XD
people’s first impression – 8 of Cups
Instantaneously, people get this impression that you’re elusive as fuck. Like, you’re not exactly unapproachable—no, no—it’s more like, even if people try to talk to you, they already think you’re the type that won’t respond too well. You seem like you don’t talk much if at all, and people get this feeling that you’re uncomfortable with being talked to. Kinda feels like, you’re ready to flee the scene the moment someone comes up to talk to you BUHAHAH Most likely because you give off this nervous/awkward energy in social situations XD
As for your fashion, you dress so uniquely, out-there-ly, alien-ly, and people simply can’t catch up. They know they won’t be able to copy you, at least not properly. You possess a strong and unique aura that shines through your fashion sensibility and you don’t even try that hard if you’re being honest. And yet, anybody who tries to emulate or copy you will 100% look like a cheap knock-off of whatever style you’re rocking.
There is something about you that screams ORIGINAL. And yet, this is mostly caused by your lack of interest in other people’s business. You have this cold, detached aura that makes you stand out in a crowd exactly because you don’t give a fuck. At first glance, people think it’s your fashion—your clothes and accessories, your hair or nails that make you look ORIGINAL. Maybe even you think that. But no, it’s your brooding AURA that says so. You’re a maniac who ain’t interested in mingling, that’s why~
fatal attraction! – Queen of Wands
You’re a divisive character who’s either despised or admired, to an extreme. There’s no in between. Seems, indeed, like some Scorpio/8th House aenergy or some harsh Plutonian aspects XD To varying extents, and depending on your mood on a given day, people’s extreme reception of you could be mentally draining. The way I see it, you yourself don’t even understand why people are damn drawn to you. You kinda wish people would leave you alone. At least the ones you don’t care about.
But…you definitely are incredibly pretty. You have a very attractive face, you know that? And then there’s your fashion sense that tells the right kind of people that you truly are a creative/artistic person who has many stories to tell because you feel very deeply. And yet, you don’t talk to people at all and that’s mystifying. Meanwhile, the haters are also attracted to your aenergy because something about your originality is a direct insult to their lack of AUTHENTICITY ho ho ho~
You give people a reason to connect and unite in their petty hatred and that’s very refreshing for those types of people to talk about LMAO Ain’t you a hero, my dear? Anyway, this may sound so random but I’m getting that you might wanna hang out at some art gallery or library? You could meet someone or see an ad/announcement for an event that could change your Life for the better! Your brooding style could get you some unique opportunities that could potentially make you very happy <3

Pile 3 – Plutonian Siren
VIBE: Flesh and the Devil (1926)

core spiritual essence – 8 of Pentacles
Daym, you’re a total hustler babe, aren’t ya? For one, at the core of your being you know that you were born into this world with a strong purpose. When you were a kid, you probably didn’t have the words to describe this knowing but it was clear to you that you weren’t supposed to fit in or be ‘normal’, whatever ‘normal’ meant within your norm XD You’ve always been the kinda person who deviated from your mainstream society. You couldn’t help it; you just had to be an anomaly.
Truth be told, you’ve a strong Sirenian spirit (if that’s even a word). You’re like a combination of a bitch barbie and a brooding maniac. You’ve a strong dark Plutonian and chaotic Neptunian aenergy about you and this is SCARY to a lot of people. If you grew up in a toxic household, I betcha an adult in your ‘family’ despised you for just being you. Could be a mean uncle or auntie as well if you had a good relationship with your own parents ;P
Did you know that in some literature Sirens were actually not mermaids? They’re more akin to evil harpies? XXD You’re an evil harpy at your worst and a singing mermaid at your best. I tell you people shouldn’t mess witcha. The karma will be heavy on them because you essentially come from a strong lineage of powerful witches! <3
people’s first impression – 9 of Cups
Wherever you are in the world, when you walk, you’re like a dream come true. You possess a natural charm that transcends race, culture, localised standards or whatever. In every situation and all nations you are beautiful, magnetising and charming. Your sheer existence makes people daydream. I’m sure you’ve heard this a lot, ‘You smell really nice.’ ‘Y/N always smells nice.’ ‘When you’re around it always smells nice.’
You’re so fucking unreal for this mortal world. Due to your Neptunian aenergy—could also be strong/significant 12th House placements—people project on you without a care for your feelings. Or should we say, they project on you without a care for their own safety? When somebody crosses the line, you snap like a sea dragon and they’re done, forever LMAO
As much as people are intrigued by you they are afraid of you. There is this depth to you that makes people suspect that once they’re in they’re never gonna be able to crawl out of your aenergy field. You’re kinda like Tomie now that I think about it. So the ones who are able to sense this swirling darkness in you will try to steer away from your charm~ Good for them because most of the time, you don’t even like it when people are up in your ass non-stop XD
fatal attraction! – 5 of Pentacles Rx
Of all the Piles, your natural charm is definitely chaotic. It’s almost demonic! Yours is a fatal attraction for sure because you will cause insanity in the minds of whoever tries to get a taste of your aenergy. And you’re out here chillin’, completely clueless as to what’s going on with the idiots around you. Why’s everybody simping? I ain’t even do nothing.
For whatever personal reasons, most people have this fantasy about you saving them from whatever boring Life they’re living. Some really sick minds could expect—even demand—you to be their stupid little Pixie Dream Girl when in reality you’re the FURTHEST thing from that. People could get SO dangerously unreasonable when it comes to desiring you.
I’ve got to say that you’d better protect yourself good, girl. Do everything in your power to steer away from bitter and jealous aenergy, because the people under your involuntary spell might indeed endeavour to cause you harm. Beware of men who could assault you and women who would trick and tarnish your reputation. I’m reminded of this quote by Claude Debussy:
‘People don’t very much like things that are beautiful… they are so far from their nasty little minds.’
For being such an unrealistically beautiful creature with an aura of mysticism, lots of people are attracted to your magnificence because they want to make it their own or destroy it, not because they appreciate your existence. Be selective with who you allow to get to know you~ <3

GALS PET PEEVES 💢
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
Also one thing I find annoying is when other gals praise reiwa gyaru and be like “you guys are setting us back in the community” “and the Jp gals accept change and they know it’s the reiwa era” “and you “guys follow rules from 2000-2016” Hate to break it to you But reiwa is boring 🥱.
It’s ok to like it like whatever you like To me what attracted me to gal was how flashy ot was how bold it was The leopard print pieces, The zebra print, The mag scans, The extreme makeup That’s what made me get into gyaru.
And why I prefer the heisei era more because I can tell they are gal because nowadays I feel like you can just put some white under your eye and some puppy liner or do douyin makeup and call it gal. But it doesn’t feel gal to me yknow??? Like it doesn’t feel bold it just feels watered down to me in a sense, But focusing on the heisei era is bringing it back today.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Like in Japan there is a rise in the heisei retro trend, shibuya 109 coming back, angeleek the gyarusa is coming back and they have an instagram account, all because people focused on that more and not the current era

(Here’s the page if ya wanna follow :3)
And I feel like As gals we shouldn’t care about what era it is Like yes I know it is the reiwa era but I want to dress and live like it’s the Heisei era I don’t wanna like water it down just cause it’s modern and it’s the current era Like does that make sense???? Cause sometimes I can’t even tell reiwa gala are gals untill I look at there accounts.
And with the bringing back of the heisei retro era, and angeleek coming back one thing my gal ass HOPES to see is GYARUSAAAASSSS!!!! There aren’t many active gyarusas in Japan from what I know I know some other ones that are active like akipoyo
╚══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╝
(an isreal gyarusa) but like I’m talking gyarusas with like 100+ members, the fashion exchanges, the matching coords, kuro gals back on the rise, HOPEFULLY old gal brands like d.i.a abd alba Rosa coming back I know Liz Lisa is still around but they changed from gal to jira kei. Abd im not sure about mars im really not sure.
Anyways I hope you enjoyed this yapping session lol didn’t mean to yapping so much I’m very talkative and chatty online but irl I’m super akward lol

✨ THE DAN AND PHIL LORE pt. 3✨
CHECK OUT PART 2: https://www.tumblr.com/ashleyeveerson/760707933651746816?source=share
Phil ALSO comes out! (yeah no i'm not crying what? not them feeling comfortable enough to be themselves yeah). 2019 also brings us the adoption of a fish named Norman (a cutie) AND they also post pictures about their recent trip to Japan [the photo of Phil looking up to Dan behind the camera? yeah i am so normal about it, i swear]. There is hope in the horizon still for a Dan and Phil comeback...
BAM! A certain virus runs wild and forces everyone to stay at home. Phil continues to upload solo videos which distracted so many of us during these dark times. Dan, however is AWOL and the only pic we have of him is a shitty screenshot of him in glasses and a mask helping Phil rescue an injured pigeon (lockdown was WILD).
Also, my boy Dan post a cryptic tweet that leads to the announcement of a self-help book named YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS NIGHT (because you will <3). Nah but I can't count how many times I've sobbed reading it, just him trying to help out others who have also struggled with mental health... istg i love this man
Hey so THEY BUY THEIR FOREVER PHOUSE TOGETHER they're gonna kill me one day istg. "Dan and Phil just decided to pay a mortgage together", top 10 sentences that would kill a 2016 phan. They are slaying, they are glowing... also rip Norman the fish you will not be forgotten
So during 2014 the fates (aka a random youtuber) foretold that Dan and Phil would be married in 2022. Since that clearly didn't happen the meme PHIVORCE united the phandom once more. ALSO Dan is out there shitting on youtube (as he should) and going on his solo tour WE'RE ALL DOOMED! Which i love with all my heart and also Phil being there for him every step of the way... AHHHHHHHH
Anyways a certain video called Dan and Phil finally tell the truth hits the internet and let's just say GOD DAMN. This also starts a wonderful trend amongst Dan and Phil in which they make fun of their audience (we deserve it ngl) and absolutley SHOCK US with new information about bonkers shit from their past [apparently they were offered a threesome MULTIPLE TIMES???]
It's the end. They've decided to give up their channel "Dan and Phil Games" forever... let's take a moment and silent and mourn with a compilation of Heart eyes Howell
...
SIKE! We're back baby and we're better than ever!!! The goodbye video turned out the be an ANNOUNCEMENT of their comeback. They are back, Dil Howlter is here and Phil confesses to having dyed everything green in the house when Dan went on tour bc he missed him (OH GOD). Also, the Halloween baking video introduced us to the icon that is.... *drumroll please*
SISTER DANIEL, the queen of making everyone reconsider their sexuality... she is the moment, she is an icon and she is serving astronomical levels of cunt at all time [jokes aside, Dan being comfortable enough to do drag in public, fuck they've come so far i'm so proud of them <3].
And here we are in the future, it's present day and they are queerer and happier than ever. THE PICTURES I CAN'T ISTG. Also Dan's Birthday stream is beyond iconic. First of all my unproblematic kings make it a charity stream to donate to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund (using their public influence for good hell yeah)... And how did they raise the money you ask? WELL BY HITTING IS WHERE WE'RE WEAKEST. Sister Daniel makes a spectacular comeback, FATHER PHIL is introduced and Dan even dyes his hair red to be more Good Omens coded... which timeline are we living in again? like how is any of this real?
Also them drawing the PINOF whiskers on their faces again... they're literally growing old together I'm gonna go sob in a corner. Also the fake apology video bc they have no fashion sense in the Sims 4 is hilarious as fuck. HOW CAN THEY POSSIBLY BE SO MUCH HOTTER ON THEIR THIRTIES EXPLAIN??
anyways the phandom is still speculating wether they're erasing "i love you's" at the end of their text when they show them on videos... guess some things never change. Nah but the vibes are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOW, they are more open than they've ever been and participate on the phan culture FULLY to the point that they're the ones terrorizing us now.
QUICK DETOUR TO TALK ABOUT PHIL'S FAMOUS BAD LUCK (and then they wonder why he's always dying in the fanfics). Nah but my poor man has had his fair share of medical problems, the most recent being...
OH GOD WHY WOULD YOU ANNOUNCE SOMETHING LIKE THAT THIS WAY?? nah like using humor as a coping mechanism and all but do they wanna gives a heart attack?! iconic i fear however
So yeah the video where they talk about it is WILD (funniest shit about the whole ordeal is that a nurse mistook Dan as Phil's son). Also I saw a tweet speculating about Phil having a hickey like... first of all what is it? 2009? Second of all IT'S MOST LIKELY A POPPED VESSEL FROM LOSING ALL THAT BLOOD YOU KNOW
They still were able to go on their vacation (aka the rodent boy summer) which gifted us with this iconic pics... ALSO they dropped a new Dan and Phil beats for summer go check out the names of the tracks istg they wanna kill their fans.
Nothing is sacred anymore, they've infiltrated twtphan, they're actively reposting memes and writing fanfiction about themselves. It's the wild west, everytime you get a notification is like playing Russian Rulet. Cringe is dead and Dan and Phil ARE COMING NEAR YOUR CITY on a tour named "Terrible Influence" where Phil's spent 300€ on silicone. It's a wonderful time to be a phan.
OKAY SO here's some stuff that didn't make the cut but that i find too hilarious to not mention. In no apparent order: DAN DRESSING UP AS A CATBOY, Dan and Phil playing technicians 1 and 2 on Big Hero 6 and two brothers on the Lion King (wtf was that also they gave the gorilas matching fringes), Dan dressing up as a golden pig (my boy has RANGE) and finally Dan being too embarassed to admit he stalked Phil and telling a reporter he was only asking for "editing tips" if you know what i mean
Also a short compilation of Dan and Phil losing the idgaf war against eachother THEY ARE SO THOUGHTFUL ABOUT EVERYTHING. Special mention to Daniel's 🧡 when Phil praised "We're all doomed!" and Dan's ranch metaphor to describe their relationship (just go watch the mukkbang video OH LORD)
SO, in conclusion... Dan and Phil's refusal to belittle their past and instead embrace it as part of their story while actively moving into the future alongside the phandom YEAH THAT SHIT MEANS SOMETHING. They're simultaneously healing our inner child while embracing us as the adults we've become i have many feelings about them
So what are they?
They're just Dan and Phil.
#dan and phil#dan howell#phil lester#this is my coping mechanism bc i'm freaking out about TIT#dan and phil games#phan#dnp#dip and pip#dnptit

BL fashion in Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart (EP 3):
Yeah! I can finally do this post! Of course, it was perfect because it was an episode centered around a fashion show, so I knew we would get plenty of nice outfits.
Let's start with this one. It's the fall fashion trend from 2016 hefty padding and bulky leathers inspired by the gear worn for motocross and motorcycle racing. Paired with these nice white glasses (my personal favorite) you can't go wrong and Joker knows it. Perfect to the thirst trap he was aiming to be at that moment. It's kinda like he was trying to have this rubber-burning bad boy persona.
Of course, I had to talk about this one. Blond bleached hair with this tight almost-scorched shirt. I guess Joker was trying to embody the satire of a model persona. It looked good on him and the fact he was escorted reinforced the idea. Great job!
I know he is the son of the big villain of the series (so far), but you can't deny he has a keen eye for fashion. I'm not sure I really liked the white broderie blazer jacket because it looked weird, but the metal plastron shirt over the black tank top is amazing: 10/10. I think I don't like the jacket because it doesn't go well with the necklace and it would have been better without.
This ! This was what I was waiting for! It's cool. It feels like the theme of the fashion show was Alien Chic. Glitters, silver colors, the absurd glasses that makes you look like you escaped a movie about space in the 80's and this jacket I love. It was very fun.
Just for your viewing pleasure my favorite psycho who despite being a bodyguard is always very fashionable. He could have been the model with a little bit more glitters and silver on him. I really like the necklace, even if it's a really bad fashion decision as a fighter.
Of course, you must know that an outfit really stands out when you pair it with a signature piece such as a ring. Even better, if it's you're future lover who put it on you. It gives the plighted troth needed for this type of enemies-to-lovers relationship.
Of course they were more interesting looks in this episode, but I just gave my personal favorites. Can't wait for next episode.

Whimsical Goth
Written by au, also known as @ausantana on tumblr
beginner's guide to this distinctive and singular ‘aesthetic’
click below to read more! ↓
Introduction! ⭐️
Whimsical goth, whimsicore or also known as whimsigoth is a combination of eclectic maximalism, vintage love and floral romance that is usually more representative and relatable to us as teenagers, mixed with a fashion trend towards dark, moody and saturated spaces, the key to the whimsigoth style is not to go completely gothic.
Movies where this aesthetic is represented 🎞️
There are millions of films that encompass this aesthetic known to many, however I will be talking about some films that I especially adore in terms of scenery.
1- The Craft (1996)
Moodboard! 🕯️

2- The Love Witch (2016)
Moodboard! 🐈⬛

3- Practical Magic (1998)
Moodboard! 🔮

4- Tim Burton's cinematic universe
Moodboard! 🃏

As you can see, electric blue, purple, pumpkin orange, ochre and lime green are the most repeated colors in this type of aesthetic, creating a color harmony full of nostalgia and melancholy, which is what is mainly sought in Whimsigoth.
Artists with this type of vibe and aesthetic 🦇
Robert Smith - The Cure
Stevie Nicks - Fleetwood Mac
Hope Sandoval - Mazzy Star
Kate Bush
Moodboard! 🌙

You can see how these artists use this vibe and aesthetic in their clothing and their way of acting in front of the public, forming a mystical aura full of melancholy, they use the same color harmony that is usually used in this aesthetic: electric blue, violet and purple colors, even fuchsia and pumpkin orange tones.
Even their music based on alternative and in some cases like Stevie's, based on Anglo-American pop rock with country tendencies, give us the perfect vibe that represents whimsigoth.
beginnings 🕰️
Whimsigothic is a fusion of light and dark aesthetics, resulting in the ultimate style inspiration for those who identify with magic and mysticism. It brings out gothic opulence with thick velvet and lace textures, combined with bohemian crystals.
The term whimsigothic was created from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s, created from a contemporary base with the peak of popularity of gothic-inspired pop rock music.
Guide for your wardrobe! 🧵
Whimsigoth fashion is mostly inspired by traditional witch clothing and dark, saturated colors, mainly violet, emerald green and maroon. Layers and sheer fabrics are considered key elements. Patterned fabrics are also prominent.
Tops
- Bell sleeve tops
- Velvet camisoles
- Mesh tops
- Wrap shirts tied in front
- knitted cardigans
Bottoms
- Maxi skirts
- Wide leg trousers
- Velvet skirts
- Corduroy pants
- Bell bottoms
Accessories
- "Kitschy" jewelry
- Tote bags
- Gold jewelry
- Shawls & capes
This is the end of my second post about a topic that I have been very fond of for years, not only for the aesthetics itself but for its music, so I encourage you to try it out this fall!
xoxo, Au.

Todays rip: 17/05/2024
Athletic Doctor
Season 1 Featured on: GilvaSunner's Highest Quality Video Game Rips: Volume 1 Also on: SiIvaGunner: Starter Kit & Essentials
Ripped by Psynwav
youtube
ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL!!
I haven't slept in so long...I forgot what dreams were like.
Honestly - what better way could there be for me to celebrate the 365th main post on the blog, than to be fashionably late by a whole weekend? It's unfortunate, but...oddly befitting, really. Back when I was first starting out with the blog, I actually forgot about posting daily for a solid two weeks - and so, some old-ass posts like Chillin’ Like A Villain and (YTPMV) Bob-Omb Battlesources were made in quite a hurry retroactively. Nevertheless, it was on May 17th 2023, over on my main blog @melblur, that I suddenly decided that I wanted to write about one SiIvaGunner rip a day just for fun. After File Select Fusion Collab, I realized that it made more sense just to put these on their own blog, and with Snowball Park - Super Mario 3D World I moved everything onto here. It's all been a bit of a bumpy ride, is my point. But today, I've reached the big milestone that I was originally aiming for all the way back with Running Through Cookie Country - a year's worth of almost-always-daily posts on the weird and wonderful world of SiIvaGunner. And what better rip to discuss alongside this milestone than the channel's biggest hit, the milestone rip to stand above all others: Season 1's Athletic Doctor.
Now, I've been following SiIvaGunner since some of the earliest moments of Season 1, following along with the initial GiIvaSunner termination, the entire Reboot saga discussed in I Saw a Brainwasher Today, the Mashup Crusaders arc of Mr. Rental [B Side] ~ Out of Options, the channel ending of Epic Flintstones... Basically, I was there for just about the entire initial 9-month run, and have with but one Season's worth of an exception (Season 5) been following the channel damn near obsessively since. The point is that, through this, I have been able to follow the channel's most popular videos chart up and down with each passing month: I recall, for instance, how Nintendo GameCube Startup - Console/BIOS Music soared past all other rips back in the day and stayed on top for five month's time. That was, of course, before finally being surpassed by we are number one but with outdated memes over it and subsequently helping kickstart the entire We Are Number One meme trend (funny enough - you can actually find a youtube comment left by me on the rip in late December 2016/early 2017 expressing mild annoyance over the rip's popularity...). Athletic Doctor in comparison was of course always popular, but it took a while to truly climb its way up there - it was in the top ten, then top five, always rising, bubbling in the background. Eventually, starting with Season 3's premiere, the team decided to just make the rip the trailer for the channel for new viewers - where it still sits today, now as the far-and-away most popular rip on the channel.
I feel like the reason the rip became used as the defacto channel trailer, the reason it keeps being referenced in videos demonstrating what SiIvaGunner is all about, is pretty obvious. I've talked a lot in posts like Live and Ooooooooooooooh about how outright *effective* many of Season 1's rips were, and Athletic Doctor is the most prime example of that imaginable - it is a damn near pitch perfect joke executed shockingly well for the time of its upload in the channel's history. EVERYONE knows the music to Super Mario World, either through its usage in the game itself in the 90s, its appearances in games like Super Smash Bros. Melee in the 2000s and Super Mario Galaxy 2 in the 2010s - or just through sheer overexposure to it in just about any era of gaming YouTube. The game's soundtrack is the perfect blend of being immediately recognizable and incredibly easy to hum along to given the entire game basically only has three or so melodies, relying on its central leitmotif to a degree bordering on parody. Likewise as well, EVERYBODY knows Witch Doctor, either through excessive radio play, being a big hit with Alvin & the Chipmunks...or the 2007 Live Action Alvin & the Chipmunks movie that I myself grew up with, it's the kind of vaguely obnoxious (also arguably quite racist) nonsense novelty music that's incredibly appealing to young kids, the same way something like Crazy Frog or its ilk was in the 2000s as well.
Put simply, Athletic Doctor was a match made in heaven - and the joke is pulled off so expertly that it feels redundant to put into words. The Athletic Theme intro is iconic enough to where you're led into a false sense of security right off the bat, the melody swap is subtle enough as to not immediately be noticeable, making the moment you notice it even more noteworthy - only for the track's second loop to become a full-on mashup with the Witch Doctor track. Absolutely perfect escalation, just the right amount of buildup - but most importantly, it ends up actually sounding really good! The joke's great to be sure, very much like Live and Ooooooooooooooh - but I feel like the core reason why Athletic Doctor has continued to endure for so long on the channel, why it keeps getting remixed and referenced and paid tribute to on so many instances, is because it's just a genuinely good listen once the joke sets in. In other words, it is the purest distillation of SiIvaGunner's appeal - a joke so simple, yet pulled off with a magical appeal that remains even all these years later.
Through running this blog, it's that very specific appeal that I've wanted to try and encapsulate with the rips I cover, with what I write about them, to uncover that elusive magic of this dumb shitpost channel. Joel's big Grand Dad reaction that kicked the channel off is a good bit, to be sure, but its not a bit that could've lasted eight years and counting: In its earliest days, its easy to see how the channel could've just become naught but a novelty and fallen off the face off the earth once interest in it died. Yet through each year of the channel's life, with every Season that passes, it's evolved and adapted. Be it the spontaneous chaos of Season 1, the building storyline of Season 2, the mystery and nostalgia of Season 3, the sheer talent on display in the King for Another Day Tournament in Season 4 Episode 1 and the sheer joy of celebration found in Season 4 Episode 2, the whimsical experimentation of Season 5, the sudden introspection and moodiness of Season 6, the pure adoration and love for everything the channel stands for in Season 7, and the ongoing pure silliness of Season 8 - each period of this channel feels as if it's growing in a new direction, never content sitting in one place for too long - and yet the appeal of a rip like Athletic Doctor remains oh so core to the entire SiIvaGunner experience. The experience of which I've made my best effort to cover across all 365 posts on this blog. To show everyone the layers in which this channel goes in.
That's what I've been wanting to show you... but now, before I end this post, I want to briefly talk about what you've shown *me*. I know its a cliché thing to say, but really - it warms my heart EVERY time I receive messages about the blog. This all began as just a way for me to practice my writing ability, but suddenly I was having the actual rippers - the names that I'd admire from my MP3 player but hardly ever considered able to actually interact with - messaging me in private to express how happy my posts made them...not to mention the people in SiIvaCord discussing rips with me, digging into my writing, sharing anecdotes I'd never heard of, and everyone who requested rips genuinely eager to see what I had to write about them...like, again, its the biggest cliché on the planet, and I know this blog really isn't all *that* big in the grand scheme of things - but I never expected to even get more than five people actually engaging with what I post? To everyone, and ESPECIALLY to the silent majority reading my posts without a Tumblr account, the ones engaging from a distance - thank you SO much for validating all that I've done on here.
Now, there's still plenty of posts I have left in me, plenty of ones already in the drafts and unfulfilled requests well in the dozens. But like...tons has happened since when this all started 12 months ago. I got a summer job! I'm wrapping up what's hopefully my final three school courses! I've started listening to so much new music, expanding my music tastes, in huge part thanks to all the digging this blog has made me do! And, of course, getting to be this open about what's likely my absolute weirdest special interest has honestly made me feel more confident in myself as a person, made me a more outgoing individual in general. And so, to get all of my ducks in a row, to help straighten things out for a bit...I'm going to take a break from regular posting on here. I'm aiming for it to be no longer than a month's time - again, I have much I still wish to write about!! - but you'll of course still see me reblogging fanart and other such things on here just from using Tumblr casually. And hey - if you haven't already, I recommend you take the time to go scavenging through The Archive for daily posts that you might have missed! Having a blog with so much writing on it, so many posts, so much to discover for readers old and new...In a way, I've basically made it so that navigating the blog feels just like navigating the vast seas of the SiIvaGunner channel itself. And isn't that just the most fitting way to leave it all on - an ocean of posts, waiting for you to uncover them?
THAT SIIVAGUNNER TUMBLR BLOG WILL RETURN IN SEASON 2

My Demon - 7/10

The announcement of My Demon literally created chaos among the k-drama fans. The Song Kang-Kim Youjung pairing was making everyone insane. The hype was unreal. But did My Demon live up to it? Well, the answer to that would be… yes or no (kissy if u read that in Na Bora’s voice). My Demon did have a very interesting plot line, good enough characters and it was successful in getting the audiences hooked with the first few episodes. The cinematography was the most talked about among the viewers and rightfully so. The wide shots of Jung Guwon’s (Song Kang) office, the underwater scene, the slow-mo shot of the waves forming a portal around Guwon and Dohee (Kim Youjung), the Dohee-about-to-fall-off-the-balcony scene and so on. Another thing that filled twitter was the fashion. And not only the female lead’s this time, but also the male leads. Guwon has secured his place among the very few male leads with impeccable fashion sense. When most male leads are shown in sophisticated suits, Guwon was rocking cropped jackets and scarfs. But then again, I don’t think most male leads are Song Kang.
Nevertheless, My Demon stands as an example that if you start with a bang, your ending should be a banger. This is where the drama failed. In the second half, it started to feel like the story line was being stretched. The cinematography and direction which was so good in the start had taken a back seat and love making montages were put in for the action that wasn’t happening. And by action, I mean just anything that would contribute to the plot. The plot was moving, but at a very slow pace. Sure, Guwon and Dohee make the best couple, the greenest flag couple, the entire amazon rainforest couple, but where is the drama? I wasn’t necessarily waiting for anything bad to happen, but for a time being literally nothing was happening. And I was mad about that. Until towards to the end, everything happened. The new trend of k-drama rom-coms only having 12 episodes, My Demon should’ve followed that. Because the more they stretched, the more Song Kang’s bad acting showed and also the writer’s inability to stitch it all together. I honestly loved Song Kang in Sweet Home, not that he had any more than 2 expressions 3 dialogues in it, but still. Jung Guwon is far more expressive, and Song Kang couldn’t do justice. He shines when the camera requires for him to be the slayest demon to walk this planet, but when it is time for the playful babygirl Guwon to get on stage, his acting feels like… acting. It’s not terrible, it’s just not the best. Also the entire past life plot is becoming more than obvious. The moment I saw Guwon dreaming of his past, I KNEW Guwon and Dohee probably died in the past life and one of them thinks it’s their fault and they will try to distance themselves from each other. You know which other drama did it? See You in My 19th Life and Destined with You and maybe more but I don’t remember. Like can we please move on? This is equivalent to the 2016 era dramas having the oh we’ve actually met in childhood and not forgotten each other since trope. But then again, they have given us the most iconic dramas, can’t the same about these though.
However, I loved the way they showed Jin Gayoung’s character coming full circle. She is probably the only one who started a certain way, learned her lessons, had character development and got her happy ending. So yeah, My Demon definitely isn’t the best drama for me. I am not going to put in on my re-watch list. But I will recommend it. It’s fun, and sweet, and great for fashion inspo!
Another thing I want to add is that My Demon is compared to Doom at Your Service a lot for having a similar concept, so I’ll just say that DAYS is a much better drama, for all aspects – storyline, acting, romance, comedy, THE FUCKING AWESOME THREESOME OF THE SECOND LEAD THRUPPLE, even the song (If Love Sight by TXT doesn’t play in my head when I look at my future partner, I’ll know they’re not the one). Except My Demon is going to take the trophy for best costume.
Ok that’s it now let me play Hyunsu’s “What should we do?” until Sweet Home S3 comes out hehe!

do you have any tips on writing an au? normal fics i can usually handle but i’m working on a kunichuu grease au and i’m finding it quite difficult.
hiya! thanks for asking :3 also good luck with that, that seems like so much fun omg; feel free to send when you start releasing, i'd love to check it out!
ill be using splinters as my example here purely because thats closer to what you're trying to do (movie/musical as reference)
this is going to be long as fuck because i tend to ramble and go into detail, so im adding a read-more. i sincerely hope this helps because i know its a LOT (potential spoilers for splinters included)
1. The Foundation
when i first started working on splinters, it started with a lot of idea bouncing. who would suit what role? why would that role work for them? originally, i had looked at dazai as jd and chuuya as veronica, or dazai as veronica with fyodor as his jd.
then, i also started thinking about story 'beats'. to be clear about what that means, i like to think of different parts/scenes that i need/want to hit, and kind of the order if possible. this usually intertwines with the original story-- in your case, grease.
all this starts falling into the next step:
2. Research
it may not be entirely apparent, but i did (and still do) a FUCK TON of research for splinters. by choosing to have multiple source materials to base your work off (both bsd AND grease), depending on how close/accurate you want to be, you're going to want to get in touch with the material.
you've mentioned grease-- i'm assuming you're doing this based off the movie (love the movie. need to rewatch). what i personally do with heathers the movie is that i watched it the entire way through first to refresh myself with the material. it might help you to take notes about different characters, ideas, plot lines. i found a copy of both scripts online in case i wanted to see about throwing an iconic line in during an important scene without diving through the whole movie to find it.
i dont know HOW historically accurate you want to go with your fic--you may be choosing to explore the concept of grease rather than the actual setting itself-- but grease takes place in the late 50s, TECHNICALLY early 60s (movie itself came out in the late 70s) (my mom LOVED it when it came out). so, you may want to do some basic research: fashions/trends of the time (this has gotten harder to search online, you may want to even run to the library and find some books if possible)? societal norms? what did normal teens do during that time? did they have arcades, did they go to restaurants, what was the average place they hung out at?
a lot of times, i have to double-check if some of the stuff in splinters is period accurate. each decade has different lingo, slang, and general information that was normal during it. hell, looking back at the 2010s versus 2020s, if you were to write a story during, saying, 2011, and have your characters saying "slay" and "yas queen" and "road work ahead, uh yeah i sure hope it does", i regret to inform you that that will NOT be accurate, as those phrases are more late 2010s + that vine came out in 2016. now, could you quote/potentially reference these things? absolutely! but you have to be more strategic about it.
ALSO. look up fun trivia about your source material! you know where i got my title from? its the english translation of the italian name for heathers. im not even kidding. also, mix and match material! hell, even throw references in to other material! i had my mean girls reference in there! because its bsd, i like to throw in authors i like from time to time where they fit!
another silly one: what music came out around that time, playing on the radio? HOW did they listen to music? i specifically listen to a 1989 top hits playlist when im trying to figure out what songs might be playing on the radio while my characters are driving-- and even THEN i still will look up specifically when that song came out, because i made the choice to be horribly specific with my timeline.
on that note:
3. If you can, DON'T SET A SPECIFIC MONTH/DAY/ETC.
i made my choices. do i regret them? YES. is it still fun to work with? absolutely, but also the heathers timeline is lowkey a mess and you could simultaneously claim it takes place in 2 months or several.
honestly, avoid specifics. having to keep track of a timeline is an absolute bitch, and it's going to make your life a lot harder, because then, you HAVE to make sure it all matches up. if i say that kunikida went and got his glasses in march, i cant say that his glasses are brand new in may (this is a hypothetical example).
timelines suck. unless you think you can dedicate the time and energy to keeping with one, don't do it.
4. OUTLINES.
i've been writing fanfics for years, which is wild to me. i was writing fanfics in single digits (didn't even know what fanfics were). one thing that i have especially found useful with splinters is to make outlines for where you want the story to go.
let me break it down for you:
you're gonna have MULTIPLE outlines, and they are NOT set in stone. they are guidelines for you to use so that you're not sitting there going "shit i don't know what to do next". they may be scenes you want to have in the fic. they may be important plot points. they may be absolutely stupid shit that youre like "if i dont get this in here i will cry" (diarrheazai is a threat that i intend to keep)
FIRSTLY. try making a general outline for your whole fic. you don't need super specifics, but think of what events occur during grease. in it, danny and sandy meet in the summer before their senior year. sandy meets and joins the pink ladies. there's a dance competition. danny and sandy fly off in a car into the sunset. etc. TO BE CLEAR, you don't have to keep all the details! it is your story, and what you want to do with it! having that structure can be helpful when you start though.
THEN. once you have that general outline? start trying to plan out chapters. you dont have to make outlines for them all at once. more often than not, i'll sit there before i start a new chapter just trying to outline what'll happen in it. this helps a LOT on multiple levels. i'll provide an example of what that can look like below (SPOILERS IF YOU'RE NOT UP-TO-DATE WITH SPLINTERS):
(the blacked out bit is spoilers, everything else should be clear to see)
a quick explanation: i dedicate a small document to outlines for each chapter. as you can see, with chapter beats, i have diff things i want to try to hit. the stuff highlighted in green is stuff that i come back post-chapter to confirm i hit. sometimes, if it's not EXACTLY in there, i'll leave a note in bold (ex: WAS MENTIONED).
but you can kind of see what im talking about here. i have some things that im trying to knock out per chapter.
other things in my doc to outline:
yes i talk to myself in my notes.
i highlight different scenes according to their relevance to certain characters sometimes; i add scenes in where i need to, and then ofc as you see ill go into detail about specific scenes. and AGAIN these are not set in stone. for example:
as you can see, shit changes over time. that boiler room make-out scene during the homecoming pep rally appeared in ch 11. i did not make this sequence fyodor's pov.
sometimes? i just dont have the time or energy to write shit/dont think its relevant to the plot. good bye, corn maze. you'll be remembered in my thoughts and my outline
also try to have fun while outlining. it doesnt need to be something serious. literally my outlines are a mix of dialogue, scenes, my own thoughts, etc. get silly with it. this is supposed to be fun and enjoyable!
ANOTHER THING:
5. LOOP SOMEONE INTO OBSESSING OVER THIS WITH YOU.
i was inspired by ardeidae to write splinters, and i have successfully trapped them in splinters world for almost an entire year now. by both of us loving it, we can keep ourselves focused on it.
what also helps is bouncing ideas off other people. me and lu have had conversation after conversation after conversation about different plot lines, scenes, etc. sometimes, i don't know what to do and i will ask lu (or other people) for advice about the progression.
you may have also heard of the engineering rubber duck method. if you're unfamiliar, engineers will sit there with a rubber ducky by them and talk to it about what they're working on until they figure out what they need to do. sometimes, just ranting about the fic is enough to help you spawn ideas about what to do next.
OH also
6. If you do end up making a timeline? Have a calendar on hand.
this is no longer 100% accurate to the progression of splinters and the chapters, but it helped a LOT. laying it out like this can make one hell of a difference. im a visual person, so doing this helped. also, can help you keep track of holidays and shit. if you want to give your characters a day off from classes, check a school calendar for holidays. be like "uhhhherrrr yeah they're taking, uhhhh veteran's day off" yk
7. Write, but don't force it.
splinters doesn't have an actual updating schedule because i work on it at my own pace, and update once i finish a chapter. now, i usually finish chapters after a month, but i don't say it updates on x day. don't box yourself in unless you truly think you can handle it. some people are very good about schedules. i am horrible at them, bc ykw? LIFE HAPPENS.
when im in the mood, i write. i will sit for HOURS and just write. grab some snacks, maybe pop on some music, get a buddy to sit with you, but just go for it. sometimes, i'll pull a 25-10 method-- 25 minutes of writing with ten minutes of relaxing and bullshitting--and that helps me not burn out as quickly. but honestly, you cant always brute force it.
have i had to brute force it sometimes? yes. you will get stuck. it naturally happens. sometimes, a scene fucking sucks and you're like "i hate this scene but it HAS to be in there" (if it doesnt fuck that shit. throw it out. blegh) sometimes, you need to mix things up to make it more appealing to you, because i am of the belief that the readers can tell when you're not invested in a scene. if im writing a scene and its going slowly and i just want to get it done? the quality's going to go down, and i KNOW it. so, i evaluate. what do i need to do for this scene to work? can i add something to help? do i need to just rewrite the bastard and call it a day?
and sometimes? you can just go ahead and put a little "<'scene'>" in and move on. depending on how much your fic relies on that scene, that won't always work, but sometimes, you just gotta leave it and come back to it. you can also do that with certain dialogue/details. if you're trying to get your characters from point A to point B, don't shove them there if they run out of gas. make a detour, and see what happens.
eerrrrrrr yeah, i THINK that's the majority of the advice i can give? sorry that that's a lot, but uhhh hope it helps! :')
#wild that people would want advice from me but hopefully itll help#good luck with your fic anon! it seems like fun!

I'm both a longtime Beyhive and a longtime Swiftie, so I'll chime in about the Billboard list
*very long*
Honestly, comparing Beyoncé to Taylor is a disservice to Bey. This woman has not only been highly relevant but has been thriving in the vinyl, CD, and digital eras, and she is still highly relevant in the streaming era. Sure, Bey doesn't pull as many streaming numbers as Taylor does, but she still is a streaming force. Chart positions and sales aren't even the metrics by which Billboard compiled this list. Here's what they've said in their article:
And we must also issue our obligatory reminder that unlike with our Year-End Charts, these Greatest Pop Stars are NOT mathematically determined by stats like chart position, streams or sales numbers. Those play a big part in our final rankings, of course — you can’t be one of the greatest pop stars of the century without great pop hits and great pop albums — but so do things like music videos, live performances and social media presence, and more intangible factors like cultural importance, industry influence and overall omnipresence. (And we’re measuring this over all 25 years of this century so far, so if you were only heard from at the beginning or the end of that period — or only had one or two big songs, albums or eras — that’s gonna significantly hinder your ranking here as well.)
She is the blueprint for most, if not all, pop stars of the mid- to late 00s, '10s, and '20s, and they've said so themselves. Not only that, several athletes, business owners, fashion designers, architects, producers, and even professional chefs have said that her work ethic, artistry, drive, and attention to details inspire them to do better. She's transformed the industry forever. She's the first artist (correct me if I'm wrong) who's done a visual album in the form of a music video for each song (B'Day in 2006) and one of the few artists who's done a concept film for an album (Lemonade in 2016 and Black Is King in 2020). In terms of music videos, Beyoncé is far ahead of Taylor, and since it's a criteria for Billboard's list, she's got an advantage.
Beyoncé's the real trendsetter in music, while Taylor chases what's popular at the moment and makes it a theme for each album both in terms of music and visuals. Beyoncé's also THE most versatile music artist in the industry: her range goes from gospel to rap, from disco to rock, from pop to bluegrass, from R&B to Americana, from opera to reggae. She is an exceptional artist with a unique™ vocal talent that continues to improve with age. There are such things as prime Whitney, prime Celine, and prime Mariah, but there are no such things as prime Beyoncé. Besides that, Beyoncé's also credited as the inventor of "talk-singing," which all of the modern singers and rappers use as their primary technique in music. Even Kanye has said so.
Live performances are also a criteria, and I think it doesn't even need to be discussed. Beyoncé's regarded as one of the best performers of all time. I personally would even say that she is THE best performer of all time, but it's irrelevant to this discussion. She's the first female performer to ever do an all-stadium tour (Formation Tour in 2016); her Super Bowl HT show is widely regarded as the Top-3 of all time, along with Prince and MJ. She's popularized feminine dancing in the industry; before that, the girls were basically cheerleading and jumping around the stage.
In terms of social media presence, I think it could be quite debatable. There are several viral Tik Tok Beyoncé trends going on at the moment. There's a "Lose My Breath" trend (the song came out 20 years ago), there's a "Diva" trend (the song came out 16 years ago), there's a "16 Carriages" trend, and a trend for Trump's "Dance Party with Beyoncé," to name a few. Also, everything she does or doesn't do makes headlines or is heavily discussed in online spaces. For example, her wearing a silver dress with 613 color hair, making her "look white," made rounds for weeks online. Her playing her film in Is**** made a ton of online discussion, while Taylor has also played hers there, and I've barely seen mentions of it online (both of them had nothing to do with it and couldn't stop it, imo; they signed their contract with the distributor months before Oct. 7 happened). People called Beyoncé "genocide Barbie" for being present at the Kamala rally and said that she "made" Kelly Rowland wear an oversized suit so she'd look better even though Kelly has worn those suits for a long time AND she always looks incredible in them. Don't get me started on the whole Tik Tok conspiracies and "she knows" thing. Even the false rumors of her making an appearance at the DNC have made it to mainstream news channels. There's also a phrase "The Beyoncé of..." that exists. Undoubtedly, Taylor has an immense media presence, but unfortunately, it's mostly her being at Trav's games, pap walks, or someone making up baseless rumors about her that no one outside of the Swiftie circles and pop culture nerds care about. I don't think anything outside of her excessive jet usage or new album variants makes noise outside of those circles except when the new material comes out and then it's 2 weeks of deciphering the songs. I think Taylor needs this kind of media presence to thrive, while Beyoncé does not. Taylor is a very talented writer, which has gotten her such a big following, but at the same time, it's her marketing that has gotten us to this Taylormania point. She's actively cultivated a quite parasocial relationship between herself and the Swifties by inviting them to her house, saying that she needs them to feel good about herself (I'm paraphrasing), and leaving easter eggs about her relationships and personal life in her music and music videos. She hasn't established any boundaries with her own fanbase, and that's why it's starting to feel cult-like at times. While Beyhives were and still can be quite insufferable at times, she knew when to pull back and cut the majority of the toxicity from her fandom so it doesn't impact her own life. Also, it's worth noting that the main drive of Taylor's popularity is her relatability. Beyoncé's brand has never been about relatability; in fact, it's always been the opposite, and I don't know why people are complaining about it: she's always said that she comes from an affluent family and went to private school. Because of the current state of Taylor's fame, I'm going 50/50 on this one.
Then there's the cultural importance part. I think Beyoncé's also ahead of Taylor here. Beyoncé's music has always been political, and she's made a pivot into teaching her listeners about Black history. There are multiple college courses about her artistry and image. She's also the reason why music is now being released on Fridays. She's created that silver craze last year with her tour; this year it has been cowboy attire. Black country artists are finally getting a platform: Shaboozey's song is now the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 solo #1 song of all time, and Linda Martell (a Black country artist from the 60s) just got her first Grammy nomination, and it's in a rap category (I mean, c'mon). She's at a point in her career where she is honoring her heritage and giving platforms to Black artists in predominantly white spaces (house, country, and I'm assuming Act III is going to be some sort of rock fusion). Also, to put things into perspective, at 34 years old, Beyoncé gave us Lemonade while Taylor gave us TTPD. Both of them have been recording artists since they were 15-16, so I think this comparison is valid. Bey also has way more universally recognized hits than Taylor does. Although Beyoncé doesn't write her songs alone as Taylor sometimes does, she is a prolific songwriter in her own right (the topics of discussion in their music are also incredibly different). She's also an incredible producer. I've seen multiple songwriters and producers talk about her process and praise her for having an incredible ear. Listen to the instrumental version of some of her songs (I'd say that Single Ladies is one of the best and clearest examples) and compare it to the album version. Not only does she have an incredible ear for melodies, she's also been the vocal producer for every single one of her albums, including the first Destiny's Child album. Her music, music videos, live performances, presentation, vocals, musical production, fashion, incorporation of Black culture, hair and make-up choices, and live performance arrangements (Homecoming had like 20-30 samples) are what her cultural importance is. There are generations of pop stars that took notes from her, and there will be generations of pop stars that will reference those who were inspired by Beyoncé after she retires, and that's what makes her a truly important and impactful icon that she already is.
If Billboard has any integrity left, Beyoncé should be an indisputable #1 pick. Taylor being at #2 is also higher than I would expect. I'd place her in the Top 5 for sure, but #2 seems very generous.
thank you for writing this up!

🥥🎀my little advices of fashion being a journalist and fashion designer ˖˚⊹ ꣑ৎ (part 1🎀)
This is for information and fun, the fashion doesn't have rules!!! Enjoy<3.

how you can find your style? 🎀.
This is a good question. irl have a lot of information. You need understand these things before adopt an "aesthetic".
1. The fashion is predicted 5 yrs before. Yh, you can search something called "forecasting", in any page you can find all the trends for every year maybe until 2034. These are predicted by climatic changes, world events, etc. Why is important? Because the fashion are predicted, Every year the clothes in stores will change. The "trendy" will pass to "vintage" in a little time.
With TikTok, the trends and aesthetics has creased alot, especially in 2022.
2. "That girl" is only when you consume the necessary, and not trendy. Why? This time of our life is VERY influenced by advertising, UGC, etc. Everyone wants "Promote " their favorite brand, but in any point, they could be .... destructive for yourself.
Honey, irl, do u need that Stanley? Do you need that new body? That new jacket? . I think no, really no. Well, you can do all you want with your money, but no. The wardrobe and the mind are the same: when they are full of unusable stuff, they can't show the reality. Our generation is accustomed to shopping, losing the sense of identity, of style.
Don't be like them, chose the mistake and chose learn. Don't worry 💗.
3. Price is not the same as quality. Even if they are Balenciaga or Shein, You should buy clothes that you feel will last at least 2 years. That will withstand your runs of joy, your strong hugs, your tears, your spilled ice cream, your stretching out of boredom.
Clothes must withstand everything you put yourself through, even feelings.
4. The style you see has already been copied 6 more times. This is motivation, you can wear, you can dress. Just don't copy. When you feel uncomfortable, I repeat, choose to make the mistake rather than stay in the same place, that way you can learn.
For me, fashion is more than just dressing up, it's going out on the street, showing who you are, where you're going and what you want to do. It's an eternal mark.
For me, pink and leopard print since 2016. Haha.
5. Fashion trends are recycled every 10 years, so you might find many things again 10 years later. But don't overdo it, find what you like.

Now, the steps (≧ᗜ≦)˖˚⊹ ꣑ৎ ⭐🎀🥥
1⭐ make a wishlist: make a list of 5-6 words that define your hobbies and search in pinterest like " (....) outfit". example: "football girly outfit" >ᆺ<.
2⭐ Make a budget. Just buy 2-5 new clothes/shoes every month or every 2 months . Why? You set your limit.
3⭐ Go out on the street with this on, don't be afraid.
4⭐ Have fun ☺️💗.
5⭐ Even if things don't go as you expected, you must trust your heart. Every human is unique and has a different perspective, it's pretty how we all feel
6⭐ Follow your heart, your wishes.
Next chapter: how you can fight with the "50 stores selling the same clothes, there is nothing in my style"?

Peace be upon you, with love
Angi 🎀🥥.

i watch a lot of youtube because i do not like having nothing on in the background lest i consume myself with my own thoughts. one of my most watched genres is fashion youtube. i've been watching fashion youtube since highschool, back in 2016-2017. and from watching all those yearly trends, thrift flips, and hauls, i've come to the conclusion that if i ever want to do youtube, i would not start until ive got a dayjob and like... robust self-esteem. age 27 AT LEAST.
so let me take you through my thought process. the queen of fashion youtube at the time was Ashley bestdressed. she did thrift hauls, thrift flips, outift inspos, the whole shebang. i think she was college - fresh graduate age when her channel was at peak popularity? and in 2020 she just dipped. disappeared. she makes content for ig only now and is working for many major fashion houses (good for her!). she vanished for a variety of reasons, in her videos she has always talked about her mental health struggles, having a stalker so she had to move a couple times during covid nonetheless, and honestly having the worst fanbase. i was on bestdressed reddit and discord at the time, these fans were horrible.
now, the most popular girlies on fashion youtube are kathleen illustrated, beepworld, mina le, and steal the spotlight (although im sorry to say in numbers not doing nearly as well as ashley; give em a watch if you're into fashion!). many of them started around the same time citing Ashley as a big influence. here i want to compare these creators to Ashley, not to incite hate but to understand what makes a healthy and sustainable content creator career.
I think age and career are a big factor because although social media content creation is usually a young man's job (because young people can keep up with trends and what not), the social part of social media is grueling. the horror of being known times like. a million. in ashley's case she had 3 million subscribers. and when you're around 21-25 ish you are the most insecure you will ever be. at least for me, i hope (im 22 now). so not only was ashley most likely struggling (she was very open about it, she made a lot of self deprecating jokes) but her biggest demographic was people her age who's insecurities were probably fueled by her content. like i will stress, im NOT blaming ashley, but like. 20 year olds watching another 20 yr old live her best life? oh my god the jealousy. the insecurity. it didn't help that she was so relatable and humble about it, i think we get more jealous of other people's success the closer they are to us (why i dont look at my personal instagram anymore lol). badabing badaboom parasocial relationship and 3 million people watching your every move and critiquing every bit of it. her fanbase had THE most baseless critiques. disguising her rich background or whatever, hating on her for being privileged (which she recognized a lot btw), literally going incel mode and making comments about every inch of her body, the only critique that holds up is prob the amazon video which she deleted. also she was not white which i think people were very weird about. i cant deny that her white contemporaries got much less hate.
what works with the creators now is some of them have careers outside of youtube and are also less personal with their content. for example, kathleen illustrated has a career in the creative industry which means she mostly does youtube for fun. you can tell it's not a source of stress for her, from the way she is in her videos. they also don't really talk about their lives in a personable way which separates them from their audience. now i know this point in particular in contentious, authenticity and relatability are huge selling points on youtube. but i guess it's more of analyzing the costs and benefits of it? is it worth to put your whole life out there? showing your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your friends? what if you split up? you can have a personable aura without revealing private details. in mina le's videos, since most of them are video essays she has the opportunity to show off her personality without revealing private details.
i hope the creators i mentioned and others don't have to go through what ashley bestdressed has gone through. i know content creation is a very passion filled career and to end up in circumstances where you lose your love for it sounds awful
#idk where i was going with this but i hope it makes sense lol#fashion youtube#thrift youtube#ashley bestdressed

On the topic of gatekeeping and how social media turns childhood and teenage nostalgia/trauma/interests into memes and trends
This is a hot one. I got into a fight with an ex-friend about this, which was a big thing that led to the death of our friendship. Looking back, I don't blame the guy. I have had my fair share of songs that I used to have on repeat back in high school and got made fun of for listening to. Can You Feel My Heart by Bring Me The Horizon was a big one, now known as a sigma male meme song. Another one is King For A Day by Pierce The Veil. A third one is Fall For You by Secondhand Serenade. Take any emo nostalgia song that you hear being played all over social media, and you have a peek into my high school playlist.
If you're into core music, specifically deathcore, you have To The Hellfire by Lorna Shore, now made a meme by thousands on TikTok, highlighting Will Ramos's pig squeals towards the end of the song. If you're on emo or metal TikTok/Reels in general, you will hear the same nostalgia songs over and over. The same can be said with goth tiktok and any other alternative subculture. Even if you're not part of a specific subculture, there will always be that one song or artist that used to be a huge part of you growing up that has now turned into a trendy internet meme, which is why a lot of people have expressed their frustration on the app about "songs being brought to TikTok and turned into ___" (coquette, sigma, scenecore, big titty goth gf, e-girl, etc.)
I will admit that I have gotten so sick of hearing Pierce the Veil and Bring Me The Horizon on social media that I have stopped listening to them entirely. At the same time, social media has introduced me to new songs and artists - Violent VIRA, La Dispute, Destroy Lonely, Odetari, 6arelyhuman, Crystal Castles, Aphex Twin, Whirr, Lana Del Rey, Cocteau Twins, and Alex G, to name a few.
The same can be said with fashion trends. It's like every year (or every few years), there's a new trend. As of right now, it's Stanley Cups, even though I still have my hydroflasks from university from back when VSCO girls were still in.
I remember the era of TikTok when everyone was a mallgoth, indie kid, or a bunny hat scenecore kid, a.ka. the Brooklyn Bloodpop era - this was the year that introduced me to artists like Jazmin Bean, Sewerslvt, and Crystal Castles. Then I noticed a bunch of lovetheflex drainer girl lookalikes-- this is when I got introduced to artists like Yeat, Bladee, and DestroyLonely. Then, the year after that, I noticed an uptick in people on my FYP dressing in trad-goth attire - this is how I got introduced to post-punk bands like Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Now, I'm seeing a lot of "lainpilled coquette" "grippy sock vacation" "im so silly :3" "femcel" content and "Deftones girls" - this is how I learned about artists like Fiona Apple, Salvia Palth, Radiohead, Deftones, Bôa, and Aphex Twin.
Coquette is the new trend, and it has been associated with pushing harmful agendas like EDs/fat phobia and glorifying mental illness, even linking young women to the alt-right pipeline by pushing trad-wife lifestyles. Keep in mind that a couple of years ago, e-girls were the ones who were previously thought to be the ones who were falling down this pipeline, given YouTube's algorithm of linking gamers to right-wing videos (hello, 2016!). Some people will even liken the coquette or cutecore aesthetic to a more feminine, soft version of being a sigma male or a femcel.
Will finish this probably tomorrow since I'm tired. But this is a huge topic that I have been dying to address.

Footwear Market: Key Drivers Shaping the Growth and Evolution of the Global Footwear Market in 2025

The global footwear market is experiencing dynamic growth, driven by a confluence of social, economic, and technological factors. As of 2024, the market was valued at approximately USD 417.50 billion, with projections indicating it could reach around USD 673.61 billion by 2034, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.90%. This robust growth is propelled by several key drivers:
1. Health and Fitness Consciousness
Increasing awareness of health and wellness has significantly influenced footwear choices. Consumers are prioritizing comfort and functionality, leading to a surge in demand for athletic and sports footwear. The global athletic footwear market, valued at USD 138.53 billion in 2024, is projected to grow to USD 204.56 billion by 2034, reflecting a CAGR of 3.97%. This trend is particularly evident in regions like North America, where the market surpassed USD 49.87 billion in 2024.
2. Urbanization and Changing Lifestyles
Rapid urbanization and evolving lifestyles are reshaping consumer behavior. As more individuals engage in active lifestyles and seek versatile footwear suitable for both work and leisure, the demand for athleisure and casual footwear has risen. This shift is evident in the growth of the athleisure market, which was estimated at USD 270 billion in 2016 and is projected to exceed USD 842 billion by 2028.
3. E-commerce Expansion
The proliferation of online shopping has revolutionized the footwear industry. E-commerce platforms offer consumers a vast array of choices, convenience, and competitive pricing. In the United States, online sales for footwear continue to expand, with growth rates exceeding 20% annually, driven by consumer confidence and positive retail trends.
4. Sustainability and Ethical Consumerism
Environmental concerns and ethical considerations are increasingly influencing purchasing decisions. Consumers are gravitating towards brands that prioritize sustainable practices, such as using recycled materials and adopting ethical manufacturing processes. The sustainable footwear market, valued at USD 9.78 billion in 2024, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.4%, reaching approximately USD 18.25 billion by 2034.
5. Fashion Trends and Social Media Influence
Fashion trends, often amplified by social media platforms, play a pivotal role in shaping consumer preferences. Collaborations between footwear brands and celebrities or influencers can lead to spikes in demand. The rise of barefoot shoes, which are projected to reach a market size of $800 million by 2031, showcases how niche trends can gain mainstream traction.
6. Technological Advancements in Footwear Design
Innovations in footwear technology are enhancing product performance and consumer satisfaction. Advancements such as 3D printing, smart insoles, and improved materials contribute to the development of high-performance footwear that meets specific consumer needs, from athletic performance to everyday comfort.
7. Rising Disposable Incomes
Economic growth, particularly in emerging markets, has led to an increase in disposable incomes. Consumers now have greater purchasing power, allowing them to invest in higher-quality and premium footwear products. This trend is evident in the growing demand for luxury and designer footwear brands.
8. Customization and Personalization
The desire for individuality has spurred interest in customizable footwear. Brands offering personalized designs, colors, and features cater to consumers seeking unique products that reflect their personal style. This trend is particularly popular among younger demographics who value self-expression.
9. Global Sporting Events
Major international sporting events, such as the Olympics and World Cup, often lead to increased interest in sports and related products. These events can boost the visibility of athletic footwear brands and stimulate consumer demand, as individuals seek to emulate their favorite athletes or teams.
10. Brand Loyalty and Consumer Trust
Established footwear brands benefit from strong customer loyalty and trust. Consumers often prefer brands with a history of quality and performance, leading to repeat purchases and sustained market presence. This brand equity is a significant driver in maintaining market share in a competitive industry.
In conclusion, the footwear market's expansion is a multifaceted phenomenon influenced by health trends, technological advancements, sustainability concerns, and evolving consumer behaviors. As these drivers continue to shape the industry, stakeholders must adapt to meet the dynamic demands of the global consumer base.

The buzz at last week’s Salone del Mobile in Milan was a testament to the increasing cultural relevance of interior design. Brands from Saint Laurent to The Row staged activations alongside stalwarts of the category like Cassina and Flos. “There were queues everywhere,” said Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays, co-founder of luxury homeware site Invisible Collection. Dubern-Mallevays estimated that around one third of Salone attendees were private clients, a significantly larger chunk than in previous years, showing the category’s growing mainstream appeal. Though not as physically apparent as endless queues around the city during Salone, the online design buzz is evolving, too. Amid a wider luxury downturn, the category has shrunk slightly: Bain & Company estimated the global market for high-end design at €51 billion ($57.5 billion) in 2024, down 1 to 3 percent from 2023 due to pressures including geopolitical conflict, a luxury slowdown and a cooling real estate market. So why are luxury fashion e-tailers like Mytheresa and Moda Operandi, and dedicated design e-tailers like Invisible Collection and Tom Chapman’s Abask, still bullish on the category? Homeware Bound Luxury design was one of Covid-19’s lucky winners: Stuck inside our own four walls, the home reasserted its role in expressing who we are. “Social media played a huge role,” said Mytheresa’s chief buying officer Tiffany Hsu. “People began posting from home and integrating lifestyle objects into their personal style.” Fashion influencers like Julie Sergent Ferreri feature interiors heavily on their Instagram feed. Ferreri’s bio reads “I’m a stay-at-home girl,” in contrast to previous generations of aspirational content dominated by tropical vacations. This cultural shift hasnt gone unnoticed. Luxury e-tailers like Mytheresa have made serious investments in design, building out its homeware vertical called “Life.” “Fifteen years ago, people said no one would ever buy expensive fashion online. Now, we’re seeing a similar shift in interiors,” said Richard Johnson, Mytheresa’s chief commercial officer. For Mytheresa, the category builds upon a simple hypothesis: “If they care so deeply about their wardrobe, of course they’ll care just as much about how they live,” said Hsu.During sluggish luxury times, design can offer a cushion for fashion-focussed e-tailers. “We saw the home category have a larger increase in sales compared to other categories in 2024, and that trend continues into 2025,” said Moda Operandi. E-tailers also face diminishing competition from brick-and-mortar chains. Conran Shop shuttered its Marylebone and Paris flagships over the past two years, while Habitat shut its stores in France, Spain, Morocco, Switzerland and the UK.Differentiated Strategies Fashion e-tailers with homeware sections mostly focus on smaller decorative items that can be displayed on a table. Design-focussed e-tailers need to sell the table itself. Invisible Collection, founded in 2016, taps that market by focussing on custom, collectible pieces. The site caters to the 1 percent, and cultivates close ties with the designers and architects who steer major home purchases for them. The retailer boasts an average basket of €13,000 and 90 percent repeat customers, it said.Invisible Collection Matchesfashion co-founder Tom Chapman also saw opportunity in this evolving space, launching design platform Abask in 2022 alongside former Matchesfashion VP Nicolas Pickaerts. In 2024, Abask tripled revenue and expects to double it again in 2025. “There’s a real shift in what people value,” said Pickaerts. “Customers are moving away from trends and toward design objects that feel permanent — future heirlooms.”Design inventory is expensive, but holds onto its value longer and helps power a higher share of big-ticket sales. “Home design is less seasonal, more emotional and tends to carry higher order values than fashion,” said Pickaerts. There’s also no sizing, fewer returns and slower cycles of novelty and mark-down. Fashion e-tailers like Mytheresa and Moda Operandi also sell furniture like chairs or lamps, but still skew towards smaller pieces of décor that can be easily stored and shipped. The average item price at Mytheresa Life is €500, though prices go up to $6,155 for a Venini vase, for instance. “We’d like to go into furniture eventually,” said Hsu. Mytheresa, known for its rigorous curation in the womenswear space, is marrying the site’s fashion strengths with homeware by launching design capsule collections with brands like Missoni and Dolce & Gabbana. “We want to be a one-stop shop for luxury — that’s why curation for all our categories is key.”Missoni x Mytheresa Pouf (Mytheresa) “The point of Life is to deepen our relationship with existing customers,” said Hsu. 60 percent of Life’s sales come from Mytheresa’s top-tier clients — the 4 percent of customers who generate around 40 percent of its total revenue. “We saw rapid growth from the outset,” added Johnson. “We didn’t have to build a new customer base, since the audience was already there.”No Stock, No ProblemOne of the biggest hurdles in growing a design business is finding the space to store items — the larger, the more costly. The same applies when it comes to shipping. Some e-tailers have found ways to circumvent that issue by focussing on e-concession models — like peer-to-peer platforms 1stdibs or Pamono. Invisible Collection focusses on made-to-order items, holding no stock of its own. “Everything is custom-made on demand,” said Dubern-Mallevays. “Our return rate is near zero, but on the rare occasion a customer changes their mind, we put the item in one of our galleries.”Savvy inventory practices, reliable shipping and “white-glove service” go a long way — especially in times of political uncertainty. The latest tariff rollercoaster affected the industry hugely, though for seasoned players, it is nothing new. “We’ve been through four major crises in ten years — Brexit, global shipping delays with boats stuck at sea, the war in the Ukraine and now US tariffs,” Dubern-Mallevays said. “We prepared for all of them.” 60 percent of Invisible Collection’s sales come from the US, so the company opened a local stateside entity. “We were ready, and then they disappeared overnight [as Trump paused tariff plans]!” said Dubern-Mallevays. The lingering threat of tariffs remains a major concern for the global design sector, for whom wealthy Americans’ homes have long been the target market. To buffer American uncertainty, companies are looking East. “Chinese clients are bored with mass-market production — they’re drawn to craftsmanship and the French aesthetic,” Dubern-Mallevays says. Invisible Collection also plans to open a gallery in Mumbai by year’s end. As interest in the category widens, even in a shaky world, economy, design and homeware players are betting they can find new horizons for growth. Source link
