Mirror (September 14th - Day 5, Prompt B)

Step up to take a look through the looking glass. . .

🍃 Does Kakashi, with his devotion to hiding his face, avoid mirrors? 🍃 Kakashi with his mask down or his hitai-ate off looking at his own face and seeing shades of people he’s lost in it? 🍃 Kakashi looking at his child(ren) and seeing his own face in theirs? Or conversely, their other parent’s? How does he feel about it, in either case? 🍃 Mirrors can be a huge multiplier for dysphoria issues - does Kakashi himself struggle with them? Does Kakashi wish he could help a partner, friend, student with same? 🍃 Kakashi using a mirror to try and see an awkward location on himself to patch himself up? Someone else yelling at him not to do his own stitches in the mirror for fuck’s sake optional? 🍃 Kakashi mirroring someone else’s jutsu against them in a fight (or a spar), as so unnerved Zabuza when they fought? Kakashi first learning that trick? 🍃 Getting ready for an undercover mission and checking all the details in the mirror? Or a date? (Or Kakashi comparing the two and finding the latter way more uncertain and worrying!) 🍃 If AUs are your cup of tea, a mirror would be a great jumping-off point to show rockstar (or any kind of performer) Kakashi, or model (or photographer!) Kakashi, for a start! 🍃 Of course you could borrow a Star Trek trope (they did originate so many!) and show a mirror universe! (Whether one peeked at in canon or of your own design? Show Kakashi another version of himself in a parallel world, or show Kakashi from another world the canon version?)

Each year, the prompts for Ten Days of Tenzo are open to your interpretation! We enjoy all the TDOT participation, and we wanted to give some ideas for how you could interpret each prompt.

Tree-Hugger

Kakashi—Just kidding. This prompt is a term sometimes used to refer to environmentalists, but we thought it fitting for our beloved tree man. Does Tenzo have a proclivity for protecting nature? Does he spend his free time convening with the soil and or chatting with the pollinators? Since his powers create a living thing, does he feel like the wood and trees he makes are an extension of himself? Do the other parts of nature feel as much company to him as another ninja?

Or, maybe you'd like to take this prompt of Tenzo being the tree who is hugged. Who is showing their care and affection for him? Is it out of friendship, love, thanks, or a need for physical contact? Is there someone holding Tenzo so they don't get swept out at sea, or huddling for warmth? Does Tenzo have a reputation for giving the Greatest Hugs of the Five Great Nations?

Maybe this prompt is about Tenzo being physically close to a tree. Did he get stuck in the middle of phasing through his mokuton? Is there a tree rumoured to contain Hashirama's spirit that he likes to sit with while training? Does he keep accidentally growing trees in his apartment, or in ANBU HQ, or in the Hokage's office? What kind of unlikely roommates/proximity tropes can we come up with all about trees (or other adjacent plants)? Make a tree a main character, like they deserve.

I've seen a few posts of people from varying us states saying "why is no one talking about x new anti LGBTQ+ bill/law in my state?" and I need you guys to know that unfortunately part of the reason you're not hearing much about your specific state is that it's not just your state. there are currently 321 anti LGBTQ+ bills in the us

you'll notice that several of these states have more than 10. Missouri and Oklahoma have 31 and 34 respectively. and some of these have already passed or are well on their way. living here has become exponentially more terrifying. and even people in states with 0 bills should be worried because they are absolutely not going to stop at state level legislation, the next step is federal law. it's really time for everyone in the us to be vigilant right now. connect with people in your community and start or get involved in movements for change, starting on a very small local level. I know it gets really discouraging looking at maps like this. you're probably not going to be able to help everyone in every state, but you might be able to make a big difference with your local community

We made our first comic a year ago!

It was posted to Reddit but we never reuploaded it anywhere else so here you go ^^

We were inspired to start making comics by a lot of trans artists on Reddit. We can't remember most of them by name, but the ones we do remember include:

and @deadeyedfae

Fae in particular was a big inspiration because the earliest comics she uploaded were photos of doodles made with pen and paper, which made us go "Shit, there really is nothing stopping us is there? We don't need any fancy tools or art programs. We can just make something." And so we did ^_^

Fun Fact: We were going to add @kaylasartwork to the list, but as it turns out we actually posted about a week before her. She certainly inspires us now though 💜

Day 5: race/species

Soooo I didn’t post this yesterday because honestly, I’m not happy with it at all. But then I though, fuck it, I spent time making this so I may as well show it off.

I looove Rito and Rito Village, and if I had the time I would probably have drawn something more intricate, something that captures my love for them even deeper. But who knows, that might happen another day.
