on desktop the lightning bolt is for activity and the smiley is for messages (which is why it's a speech bubble) so it was always confusing for us to go on mobile and have it be like "you have a message! psych! it's a like". i guess they thought it was more consistent since there are a lot more things under the activity category and it's generally... well, more active.

the smiley is cuter tho ( •̀⤙•́ )
