Só, i watched The Monkey King: Reborn recently, and i lived the movie! Wukong's design is very cool and i wanted to draw him

Most of the movie he looks very serious and grumpy, but there are little bits where he just seems so curious about his surroundings, and idk the way his expression softens sparked my creativity

I only made one drawing because for some reason my hand decided to be a bitch and not draw the way i want, so i'll try again tomorrow. But i will l be making more drawings of the monkey!

Based on my loose travelling style while motorbiking across Europe in 2016, I rarely use a map or GPS, I will go where I like, see or hear about a cool place over there, and just go! The thing I love about travelling is the freedom, I wanted to capture that in a piece, I hope I did it justice <3

ALRIGHT for october we’re doing ‘look how far i’ve come’ uber-honesty hours. here is a compilation of stuff from 2021 which was the year i began digital art. that first one was my very first (in this era of my life at least. i did some when i was younger too but that was a distinct era of time ago) and some of these deal 100hp psychic damage to look at but that’s just part of the arting process right? go easy on me. you can see me drastically get better in the fall

Part 22 - Finale

The one with criminal activities.

I can't believe this project is actually finished. I started sketching the first pages in January of 2021 (if my Instagram stories are to believe) and now I'm done? What am I even supposed to do now that I'm not drawing WINGS anymore?

It's not a perfect comic. It wasn't really meant to be a finished comic either, I was kind of messing around to see if I actually liked making longer comics. Turns out I do! I've always viewed this project as "practice", so the style is all over the place and at times, the art is really hard to look at (*cough* entire part 7 *cough*). But I finished it, all 206 pages of it! I never knew I had this much persistence in me :D

Things I wish I'd known before starting the comic: 1) Having a script will save you from many plot holes and plot threads that never lead anywhere (and it also gives you opportunities to do fun foreshadowing <- this is something I couldn't do for a Thing I came up with and had to drop because I'd already posted the first updates before writing the script). 2) Drawing in batches actually saves time, people aren't joking when they say that. It always takes time to get used to inking after sketching, or coloring after inking, etc. And when I say batches, I don't mean ten pages at a time, I mean like 40-50 pages at a time. I wish I'd realized this before the last 40 pages of this comic...

Thank you so, so much for each and every one of you who have been on this journey with me. It really has meant the world to me to have people I could share this story with. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it <3

Coincidentally, and to my shock haha, the author decided to drop the last four chapters while I was drawing this. Sitting there after reading the lovingly crafted ending and finally re-drawing the first TWSB fanart I ever made felt very poetically well-fitting for the occasion! Thank you to Sookym, and all of the friends and fellow readers that I have followed along with on this journey for the past few years!!

I'm very excited for the side stories and the webtoon that is coming back for season 2 on the 30th (and with a new adaptation team)! I hope to continue drawing art for this beloved series for longer too!! 🙌
