Another fun discovery from the childhood toy chest: for some inexplicable reason I went through the effort of completing the full Happy Meal set of the 2008 Beijing Olympics mascots. (The figures don't really do anything exciting besides having a rubber stamp on the bottom.)

I also managed to find my old Little Mermaid doll, which somehow still has her complete accessories. I can't remember exactly what year I got her (maybe late 90s?), but she's around 6 inches long.

Even then I had a strong preference for smaller dolls, go figure.

Remember the Opening Ceremony on the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

A fitting 2,008-strong ensemble of drummers took to the stadium, each armed with an individual bronze Fou drum. The Fou drum is an ancient Chinese percussion instrument, once used in ritual music. As they pound their drums, the players chant in unison.

but in Sochi he says the same thing literally every single time he scores a goal in Ice Hockey, while not breaking any world records, even when his team isn't winning either

his ego is so huge, he doesn't need a world record or even to be winning to truly believe and proudly claim he's the best in the world! he loves himself so much, it's so cute for an evil egotistical bastard 🥰💜
