i finished season 1 of rise and realized season 2 isn't on netflix 😭 but i found somewhere to finally go and finish 2012 so,,, i just finished season 3 (though i did watch it way back when, i had mostly forgotten what happened after vision quest tbh) n damn,,,, i forgot abt splinter :'( mikey crying was what got me though, i genuinely started tearing up. i think i stopped watching somewhere in the beginning of season 4 so imma try to get through it quickly n then go find somewhere to finish rise bc i really wanna get to the movie

Could you tell me more about the cousins au?

GLADLY (even tho there isn't much to talk about lol) Here we go!

Cousins AU is just an au where the 2003, 2012 and Rise turtles (since these are the versions I'm most familiar with) have known each other since always and grew up together. They visit each other very often and just generally treat each other like cousins, hence the name! :D

Here's the age-chart for when they're kids, which is how I mostly draw them in this au. 2003 Leo is the oldest of the whole bunch (THE big bro) and Rise Mikey is the baby (everyone loves him and can ya blame them?).

I haven't really thought about the story, but if I had to explain how they met, I'd say that younger Rise Splinter used his portal thingy wrong in a stressful situation and somehow went to a whole different dimension, where he met another rat-dad. They became friends and then decided to look for even more dimensions and found the third Splinter. From that moment they just visited each other regularly and lived like a big fam!

Also here's a little info about my fav girl. Rise April is the only one who have known the boys since they were kids in canon, so I decided it'd be the same in this au (imagine having 12 brothers, like damn).

Hope this explains things a little! It's not a story/plot driven au, it's just mostly some silly ideas and little stories I come up with! Love y'all <3

Top 5 Dick ships?

hello anon i think this is prolly gonna be the last one i do i've procrastinated enough today, also forgive me for not peppering this with enough comic panels i just can't be bothered to look for the issues 1) dick/roy- in my ideal world, dick moves back to new york after his batman stint and he and roy go on a crazy, adrenaline fuelled, bonkers mission to find lian, who is obviously not dead. brings things full circle to when they first got roy custody of lian from jade in nightwing: old friends/new enemies. they talk about roy's questionable titans for hire choices, dick's fear of being batman (let alone a really competent one) realized. they are both irretrievably changed from the last year but despite it all, they still fit. they find lian, cue heartbreaking reunion. and then they kiss <3 honestly tho they have so much history, roy started a whole ass team to help dick deal with his grief over donna despite the fact that roy loved her immensely too and was probably grieving her just as much. outsiders (2003) once again i am unable to be normal about it. 2) dick/kory- kory was probably the best thing to happen to dick. at a time in his life where he was hurting and struggling to figure out who he was beyond batman's partner, kory was a breath of fresh air. both she and dick have core desires of freedom but for dick, it tangles with the discipline and bruce of it all. they were so cute with their terms of endearment ("honey", "gorgeous", etc.), their pictures in each others' apartments, the way they were always touching. also just the fact that she can fly. the deeper meaning to kory will never let dick fall. it ended awfully and hurtfully but their love for each other changed them. for the better. they will always have that love for each other, even if they aren't in love with each other. i do think they are soulmates but very very clearly right person, wrong time.

3) dick/joey- im sorry none of those initial interactions were anything less than deeply, deeply homosexual. the way dick spent his entire birthday on tamaran monologuing at joey and joey heard it all. they have inside jokes! dick feels awe when he looks at him. also the fact that joey chooses to possess dick in titans. ahhhh what a fucking fantastic nuance to their dynamic.

4) dick/midnighter- when i do accept the existence of a post n52 world, midnighter is prolly one of my fav things to come from that era. i love the idea of a dick losing himself as a spy and subsequently choosing to engage in awful, awful self-destructing behaviour and midnighter clocking that but not rlly able to do more bc he's grieving his relationship with apollo, too. their relationship would just be a lot of adrenaline and lying and covert ops and it would be short-lived bc both of them know it isn't what they want, esp not even the person they want. also a lot of attempts to extract information from each other with progressively unhinged ways of flirting and stalking.

5) dick/being single i'm so serious,,, this is prolly my top one. he needs to be single bc either he is a staggeringly great partner or an awful one, no in between. i love him but if i were a fictional character and ever had to date him, i think i would combust from wanting to clock him. unfortunately, therapy will not fix him, i think it would just make him worse so he should just be single, untethered to any place or person (well, as untethered as you can be when you are as insane about bruce wayne as he is) and able to swing away. but also swing back to the people he loves.

Who are your favorite duos in TMNT

FOR MOST iterations it’s brains and brawns,,, I love Don and Raph’s relationship even tho it’s rarely highlighted 😭

But 2003- all time fav version: it’s Leo and Don. Leo’s gentleness to Don is so special to me. And they seem to have such a good understanding of each others character. They have a balance of patience and helping each other when stuck. Like Leo looks to Don as much as Don looks to Leo and I love that it’s such a subtle character detail. Like I go crazy over how subtle we are shown their affection. Leo understanding when Don needs space and Don always being prepared to back Leo’s plans, always his first hand helper. It’s so perfect.

But Brains and Brawns in IDW, Rise, Bayverse, Batman movie/comics, MUTANT MAYHEM (I love Don and Leo in that one too)

I honestly don’t like them in 2012, it’s not my fav iteration.

19.) my fav ally is probably Casey Jones or timothy (not including April because she's more like a main character, idk) or!! Carter, who appears in 1987 and then never again. I miss him 🥺

20.) theme song... I love them all... Rise's is objectionably the best but damn 2003 had some damn good bangers. I could listen to "back to the sewer" on repeat forever.

21.) favourite story arc? Like... Idk, one that appears a lot is the farmhouse arc (or country arc or rural arc whatever) that first appeared in the 90s movie (although it was probably in the comic first) and Leo or Raph is injured, and one sits by the other while they heal... It's a very soft moment for the brothers because they're usually fighting... If Rise gets renewed I'd love to see this arc again.

22.) I wasnt really a pizza eater before TMNT, it's not a big thing in Australia compared to NYC. I LOVE margherita!! Basil and tomato and boom, ya got yourself a pizza. I'll eat any pizza except any pizza with that horrid ham. Or anchovies. (Who does, wtf)

I am sorry but I don’t think you understand Raph’s character at all if you just think he’s the angry one always starting things. He’s way more complex than that and you being incredibly close minded. If you can’t see past his flaws like you can the others I feel sorry for you. You probably think Leo is flawless and can do no wrong.

This folks is a prime example of how folks can no longer read on the internet without either getting pissy without thinking or automatically jump to the worst conclusion about a person. All because someone out there doesn't like a fictional character the same way you do.

Firstly, it's you're instead of you. I know you're mad, but maybe slow down a bit.

Secondly, you're actively blind if you think I said that Raph is always starting things. My exact words where "I feel like Raph tends to start them". The key word being "tends". Meaning not always, but a good amount of the time. And I feel like you're basically ignoring a lot of cases where Raph actively make things a problem when they weren't, or when there IS a problem, he just gets pissy instead of like....idk talking. (And I feel like you're actively ignoring that he's legitimately characterized to be the "Do first ask later type" in most versions! Hell, his 84 version is incredibly violent! Do you just....not know that or??? And they changed that in the 87 version where he's more sarcastic then angry. Again, something I mentioned in my Raph post.)

And way to go, assuming you know a damn thing about me! Cause guess what, I'm aware Raph is more complex. In my Leo post, I talked a little bit about how I related a lot to Leo because of the role I was forced to play as a kid. But the thing I didn't mention was that...I also relate to Raph quite a bit. I had massive anger issues growing up too. And they where due to a lot of reasons. But the two biggest ones where:

I didn't understand quite how to deal with situations were I wasn't being listened to or taken seriously.

I cared a lot about those around me, and when I felt they didn't care back, it made me feel a way.

TWO THINGS THAT I KNOW RAPH FELT IN SEVERAL VERSIONS TOO! Doesn't mean he was right to act the way he did. But he's a teenager, and I was a child. I can look past all of that. But, can't erase the fact that he could and did act like a complete shitter in a lot of situations without really...any good reasons. And it got them into some deep shit.

But, I can see that he owns up to most of it too, and apologizes when he's gone too far. I had to learn to do the same. And I will commend him for that.

And as for the Leo thing, again just proves you didn't read what I said once more in my Raph post. I outright stated "Leo does seem to be making the worse choices in those arguments (Glares at Bayverse Leo)" I'm aware he's not flawless! For fuck sake, in 2003 (Season 4), Bayverse Out of The Shadows, TMNT 2007, and in fucking RISE, Leo could be a REAL piece of work! And I feel, just like with Raph, things could've worked out a lot better if they had just....talked!

And I'm more then capable of seeing the flaws of all my favs and can still like them despite there flaws! And the opposite could be said for characters I'm not as jazzed about. Like with Raph. I'm more then capable of seeing past his flaws and can see why people like him. Don't mean I gotta tho.

All I said in my Raph post was that I don't really like him and never really have. I don't hate him, just don't like him. I saw a part of him that reminded me of some of the worst parts of myself growing up, and it can rub me the wrong way when the shows just don't let him show off his more softer side and grow as a character. (A fault of the writers you dipshit, not the character itself! He's not real so he can't actively change if writers don't let him.) And after all of this, I wouldn't wanna see him gone from the series, cause without the whole team, the TMNT fall apart.

But you saw that I don't like Raph, and immediately jumped to calling me "Closed minded" and making some pretty, gunna be honest, closed minded assumptions about how I must view a fictional character over another. Well, says more about you then it does me in the end!

MY SPECIAL INTEREST IS (FASHION) DOLLS‼️‼️

I don’t mention it on tumblr much cuz I mostly use this for art, but I absolutely LOVE dolls and I always have.

I have a collection of 70+ dolls, but I haven’t counted them in a while so I definitely think it could be 80+ by now or more!! I should check again soon.

My favorite lines are probably Lol Surprise Omg/Lol Surprise Tweens and Lalaloopsy, but I love a lot of others too like Monster High (G3, mostly) and Rainbow High! I don’t have many Barbie dolls, i only got my first one around October/November-ish last year, but I have 4 now! 2 of them are newer (Perfect Day/Movie Barbie & 2023 Holiday Barbie), and 2 of them are older (Barbie In The Pink Shoes & a 90’s Barbie I found naked at a thrift store so idk who she was lol). I don’t like a lot of newer Barbie dolls bc a lot of the quality just,,, isn’t there, but I do want to collect more 90’s Barbie’s and late 2000s/early 2010s Barbie’s because she’s very nostalgic for me.

I love fashion dolls for so many different reasons. I’ve always been interested in fashion, and I love self expression. I love dressing super colorfully and over the top (when I have the energy too. So it’s fun being able to not only fill my room with dolls wearing fun outfits, but being able to mix and match things and create whole new looks is genuinely so exhilarating for me!! I don’t restyle dolls extremely often bc I don’t wanna ruin any dolls, but when I can and do restyle dolls without needing to worry abt that, they can become some of my favorites!! I think there might also be a visual stim factor to it, tho I can’t figure out if I like dolls bc they’re visual stimulating for me, or if they’re visually stimulating for me because I like them. But either way, I can pick one doll out for the day, take it with me wherever I go, and just stare at it and keep noticing new details in the face or clothing, or even just staring at my favorite parts over n over. And there’s definitely physical stimulation too, because I love feeling the fabric and the hair, and it’s especially nice if it has a good amount of articulation so I can move them around and pose them in different ways. And there’s so many other reasons I love them too.

I also often really enjoy the movies and tv shows that doll lines come with! Lalaloopsy Girls: Welcome To Lala Prep is genuinely one of my favorite movies, period. I like all the other Lalaloopsy movies too, and the Nick Jr show (I don’t really like the Netflix Lalaloopsy show tho). There’s also 2003 Strawberry Shortcake, which btw, had some absolute BANGER songs in some episodes. I’ve seen a good amount of Monster High movies by now, my fave is probably Ghouls Rule bc it focuses more on Jackson Jekyll and he’s my fav character <33. Ever After High is great, I never watched it as a kid, but even just watching it in its entirety like a few months ago, it’s a good show with some of the best digital puppet animation I’ve ever seen.

OOOH that's a hard one, I love so much of 2003, but I'll try and weed out my absolute favs.

Tales of Leo (turtle tots!!!)

Lone Raph and Cub (I like this a lot because I've always seen Raph as a very untrusting guy, and suddenly he has to trust this little kid and he's just very good with kids ain't he?)

The Golden Puck (Literally just because of their outfits and the fact that Donnie was reading an encyclopedia of hockey while watching hockey. Like did Casey lure him there with promises of a hockey book??)

The City at War Arc (I love Leo and Raph's whole dynamic through this entire thing. Leo prioritizing perceived responsibility over safety, Raph prioritizing their safety over others, and how at the end Raph decides that even if he doesn't agree with Leo he's still gonna stick by his brothers)

The Big Brawl Arc (all of it the whole thing; I love how Mikey gets a chance to shine and drink in attention, how Raph goes mobster trying to find his dad, how protective Donnie is over Leo, USAGI,)

The Lesson (turtle. tots.)

Christmas Aliens (I love an episode where they show how competent Mikey is, I love them decorating for all the holidays, I love them inviting their homeless friends, I love Donnie running to his brothers to ask excitedly who wants to lick the bowl and Raph going absolutely FERAL on it, I love Leo and Usagi giving EACH OTHER SWORDS EVEN THO NOBODY ELSE IS GIVEN GIFTS ITS JUST THEM AND THE SWORDS, I love Klunk, I love all of them.)

Samurai Tourist/Ancient One (I'll put these together because they're right next to each other but these two episodes really show the peak in Leo's post-exodus mental state. I love how Usagi tries so hard to reach him and might have broken through if the assassin hadn't shown up and cemented the idea that Leo needed to get better. I love the way Splinter handles Leo hurting him; he doesn't get mad, or upset, he just realizes that Leo needs more help than he can give. I love Leo figuring out that he's his own worst enemy and starting the healing process, even if it's never shown in the show)

Prodigal Son (I KNOW IT'S ALSO WITH THE OTHER TWO BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH OKAY, it shows how much Leo has learned and healed and he doesn't panic and just detectives his way into finding his family and methodically bringing them back to a safe place and the way they're all just sitting there and WAITING for someone to find them like they have no idea what to do, and Leo facing Karai SHOWING her that he is giving her mercy despite what she did to him and it SCARES her, she doesn't mess with them again)

DNA is Thicker Than Water (huge jump I know but I had to cut down a lot already I can't just list every episode, and this one always hit me really hard.)

This ended up way longer than I meant it to be but yeah :x I like a ton of episodes for small moments, and you can basically throw on any episode and I'll be happy to watch but I think these are my absolute favs.

uff mine has always been Raph ;U; i distinctly remember that and whenever we would play to be ninja turtles with my sister and cousins i was always Raph haha and honestly if you look at all my other fave characters from other fandoms, it's always the one who has anger issues with hard and mean exterior but are actually really soft and kind on the inside (the emotional ones i guess haha i mean the scene where Raph cries is the first one that pops in my head when i think of the scenes that affected me as a kid)

i do love all of them tho >u< but after my rewatch Don became my second fave very close after Raph

Wow, both of these episodes are really fun(as always)! Humphrey is such a sweet old man and deserve his role, Hop Pop conclude his actor arc, and Terri.....being Terri. @blaze42323 I got you. But you’ll have to deal with my storytelling, because I can’t just write two sentences. I have to set the scene. So it’s under the cut.

I just googled to confirm the date. It was March 12, 2003. Headliner’s Music Hall in Louisville, KY. Opener was local punk band Christensen. Then S.T.U.N. (Fun fact - lead singer is married to Alicia Silverstone) followed by 30 Seconds to Mars with headliner The Used. Me and my best friend Brittney were there early, since this was a small, GA standing only venue and 1.) we were born shorties and 2.) Brittney was absolutely OBSESSED with The Used. We were both 17.

At this point, I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the bands but I was 17 and a big ol�� emo/indie/rock girl so any chance to see music I was gonna take advantage of. And again, my girl was hella invested. I knew all of the Used songs because again, Brittney and thought the two singles were good. S.T.U.N. were fun and engaging to watch. But I digress, this is about Jared Leto.

The only 30 Seconds to Mars song I knew was Capricorn since their debut album was released just a few months earlier. I didn’t even know Jared was in the band until Brittney told me.

I watched My So Called Life as a kid. I was a few years too young to really appreciate it, but I still watched and I was always mad at Jared aka Jordan Catalano for how he treated Angela. So yeah, I might have already been a little biased towards him but I also worked at a live playhouse and knew well enough that the actor and the character aren’t the same. But again I digress.

Brittney was really into 30 Seconds to Mars as well. She had brought her CDs to get signed because at these sized shows, it was fairly easy to get pics and autographs after the shows. So, the show starts. We get smashed up against the far right metal barrier maybe 2-4 “rows” from the front. That side is where the door leading outside for talent/crew to load in and out. So usually the other bands would hang there to watch the show.

So STUN was getting ready to start their set. Brittney pointed out that the guy standing in that area was Jared’s brother, also in the band. I was like “Aight cool.” A few mins later, Jared came in and leaned against the wall next to his brother. This little space was small. Jared and his brother were maybe 4 feet away from us.

Brittney saw the opportunity and took it. She got out her CD. She was always prepared. She even had the sharpies for them to use. Even tho they were close it was still loud as fuck because that was also where the speakers were, so she did her best to get the brothers attention and did the universal sign for “autograph” while holding up the CD insert book. The brother smiled and took the 2 steps needed to reach and signed it. Brittney asked him if he would hand it to Jared to sign it as well.

Jared was looking. When the bro turned to look at him and kinda head nodded/gestured, Jared shook his head no.

This motherfucker. Shook his head NO. Said no to taking 2 fucking steps and maybe 7 seconds of his life to sign the album someone had spent their hard earned high schooler money on to support HIM. I thought maybe I had been seeing something. But that’s when his brother turned back to us and to be fair, he looked sheepish as fuck and mumbled something about “not right now, he hasn’t been feeling well.”

Brittney was devastated. I was furious. The brother went back outside but Jared stayed there for another few mins, looking at his cell phone. I proceeded to do my best to be louder than the speakers, screaming that his was an uptight Hollywood asshole.

And that is why, to this day 21 years later, I fucking hate Jared Leto and wish nothing but bad luck on him.

Brittney’s night wasn’t completely ruined, however. Despite the blatant disrespect she received, when the show was over she got her CD signed by everyone in The Used and got pics with her fav, Bert along with a bunch of hugs.

Not to bring down the mood, but I’m actually glad I was given a reason to tell the story, as Brittney died back in 2016. We were inseparable from 11 til the day she died, when we were both 30. Here’s a little collage of us. I am the one with the low melanin.

My own interpretation of TMNT.

For a very long time, i want to give my thanks toward the TMNT series, so i decide to make my own version or interpretation of the TMNT. However, it’ll go back toward it’s roots, like within the mirage comics. (One of my Fav interpretation of the TMNT.) So now, here is my own version of TMNT, reply of what do you think of this fully. Leonardo - Leader/Skilled Swordsmen. Leonardo is the oldest brother in the group and mostly likely the skilled for many reason. Leonardo train himself in the arts of swordsmenship, allowing him to be very skilled with his duel sword, leonardo is a very good brother as he cares for his brother, as he’s oldest and the most deadly in terms of normal skillset.  His Relationship with Splinter is huge, father and son like 2012 one. Leonardo will do anything to save splinter as he care deeply of him. Leonardo equally with Karai as both hold deep honor, like the others except shredder. Raphael - Muscule/Fighter. Raphael is often the power-house of the group, skilled in sneaking in buliding as well as sending message toward gang and the foot clan alike. He care of his brothers, with him and Leo had a rivally for fun. He and Casey are Bash Brother btw, change my mind.  Raphael is willing to kill like his brother’s if needed, they’re ninja of course, with him willing to do anything for splinter safey. As raphael is also the only one who can beat both Tigerclaw in close combat beside Don himself. Donatello - Brains/Range Attacker! Donatello is a smart people, he’s very creative in battle as it’s shown of him manage to beat Stockman with quick reaction as well as injuring Hun after seeing mikey injured with greatly angered him to the point where Hun was left with a few broken ribs and bruises. Don is also has a great mind, he can made plans in the battlefield for them, whatever it’s backup or straight ones, don got you covered! Don is very skilled in buliding many thing, one of them was the shellraiser with the final version was the Battle Shell. Don also is skilled enough to beat Tigerclaw without his bo-staff even tho he got good amount of injuries. Michelangelo - Supporter/Acrobatic. Mikey is the supporter and heart of the group, whatever his brother are feeling down. He’s always there to help out, Mikey hold great skillset due of his age yet can’t bring them down due of him loving life, however. It can teach splinter a lesson or so. Mikey is often the most skilled in dodging attacks and reflecting back toward their enemy. He manage to did this toward the shredder as he use his own claw against him, making him having a stab wound onto his left side of his torse. Mikey is good at throwing ninja stars and daggers, as well as him manage to face large amount of foes like Fishlegs and Rocksteady alone for a 20 minutes before finally manage to defeat them, of course with good amount of injuries of course. - How Deady are they? Well, this interpretation is pretty deady, like their mirage counterpart! They’re willing to kill, however only if they needed to finish a fight. Shredder is deady as well, he’s a mix between his Mirage/2003 and 2012 version with his mirage personality mix with 2012 one. Now give me questions or your thoughts on this because i want to hear them, this is V.D, signing out!

ROTTMNT IS A REAL GOOD SHOW AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR FREE SERITONIN 

ok now that thats out of my system ive actually always been a turtle fan!! since childhood!! i watched the 2003 series on saturday mornings in elementary school and man. im pretty sure that show had the Stuff that i enjoyed very much as a baby sadist before i even knew what a sadist was. shit was formative. although i dont remember much of the show now it still made me love tmnt till today and also i watched the 2012 series but i dropped off at some point and dont remember it too well also. but ye turtles ive always been here

but like to talk about how i actually got into rottmnt is like. typical jem bullshit behavior. the bullshit is that it was entirely fanfic motivated jhbthgrejkfhr. i was going insane. i was going made because i had nothing to fucking READ bc i had completely drained the promptos fat ao3 tag (which is a feat) and lost most of my interest in reading for him and my current fandom at the time (tales of hearts) has literally FOURTEEN (14) FICS TOTAL. I WAS GOING CRAZY ON TWITTER WHERE ACTUALLY 100% OF MY TALKING ABOUT FIC VOMIT GOES. i was like. man do i resort to reading batman fanfiction bc fic author i liked wrote for it. but then i was like.... hang on.... tmnt............. what if i revisit it after years................ then started reading fic...... some were rottmnt........ i watched clips on youtube..... it looked really FUCKING GOOD. and it was all over from there.

really tho the animation is fucking amaaaaazing and aaaaahh. the comedy is well written too. good lighthearted show thats so visually stimulating.... anyways this is a very long response to something that wasnt even a question. im hooked. rottmnt is a genuinely wonderful show. im not done with season 1 yet tho because ives been so fucking busy with art school...... but watching one ep every so often actually keeps me sane during these trying times. this is the most paced out ive ever watched a show. bc i dont have the time to binge it all at once. i wish i could tho. and i wish i could binge it twice in a row so i can look for my fav leo smug face to potentially make an icon. dont have the time for that tho unfortunately. anyways. i love these turtles. they are such good fucking boys this series and im love and they are all my sons
