2000's animes just hits different,
There's such an inherent beauty to them. So much love in their craft. Their atmosphere, their concepts, their cinematography,.. is something else truly.
There's a lot of beauty in animes nowadays. A lot of blood, sweat and tears spent to create them. And I'm in awe by each of them, even the worst anime has love of the art bleeding through it.
But it's different. Beyond the sword of capital hanging above the industry, there's a distinct lack something. Something with soul. I can't put my finger on it.

"Why are all SK fans proshippers" Silence fetus
#text#mind you SK was released in a very different time period where fandoms back in the day were built different. freaks strived and#everyone back in the day followed fandom etiquette “ship and let ship” and “dont like dont read”. fandoms back in the old day were#peaceful and supported one another. ppl shipped anything and everyone and ppl minded their own business in the early 2000s#thats how almost all old sk veteran fans i know turn out to be what they are today#(ofc there are some. other veteran folks i do not fuck with as theyre also genuine assholes and are hypocrites/ostracizes others.#. but another discussion for another day lol. you must be a level 100+ of friendship to unlock my tragic sk fan backstory)#also news flash all of your favorite anime/manga stories are all written by profic ppl! thats right! everyone in japan are profic#shocking i know#japanese folks dont give a flying rat ass when it comes to FICTIONAL morals because they know how to differentiate between fic and reality#the fact that so many antis keep on twisting the word proship so many times to the point where its widely misinterpreted and ppl#nowadays esp the younger gen easily believe in the misinformation and keep repeating the cycle of misinformation in modern fandoms today#it pisses me off honestly#but yeah what did you expected from a old series that came out in the late 90s. the fact that theyre consuming the series when the series#itself also literally has problematic elements too lol#and see this is why im glad SK is niche despite that i wish it was popular so it can bring in more renmei fans but in the end its better of#being niche#because had it blown up it wouldve attracted all of the chronically online kids/puritans/fandom police and ruin everything for everyone#modern fandom today is the reason why all fandoms suck nowadays and its why i gave up joining and being part of them#theres discrimination everywhere in modern fandoms. oh your a proshipper? gtfo DNI and kys!!!!11111#its like theres eggshells everywhere no matter where you go. you have to abide with morality and puritanical rules its the “automatic” law#but fuck that thats never been the automatic law in fandoms lol. Ship and let ship AND dont like dont read is the real fandom laws here lol#but back to what i want to also say. theres nothing you can do about SK fans being proshippers. the old fans has always operated that way#since the old times. either adapt / cope with it OR you can just. block everyone and preserve your peace. which takes like 10 seconds#this is like maybe the 15th SK puritan fan i know lol. then again i also know theres ALOT of renmei antis who follow the puritan mindset#imao. I say this alot many times but SK fandom is only ugly and almost everyone becomes a puritan when renmei gets mentioned#which has always made me ????????????????? so yall can handle yoyo boy and anna teen preg can handle serg getting groomed/manipulated#by marc and xes laws can handle kids getting their arms and legs ripped off can handle kids getting killed left and right#can handle shipping bruce lee whos like plenty years older than JUN which btw beginning of the series she starts off being 17#but a 4 year age gap between ren and jeanne is too much apparently and should be cancelled. geez louise

What if there was a Borderlands cartoon instead of a movie? Here's my take on it, I drew some "fake screenshots" showing what it could've been. And there is a hidden frog in there 🐸 It's also my AU stuff mixed with canon, in case you were wondering.
Btw, the loader here is the Loader Bot from Tales. I was thinking how he's slowly started getting conscious, that's why he's looking at Jack like that. Generally speaking, I prefer older Borderlands games, so this art is my ode to them. Hope you like it
I also have other fan art posts dedicated to the early 2000s animation, and Hades + Eris crossover

Now that we've covered most 80s and 90s "nostalgic" faves....
Don't @ me if your personal fave is not on here. This is MY list of films from MY childhood that I watched over and over, alongside Disney movies. Unlike my previous "nostalgia" polls (80s and 90s, if you want to see the results), the only "rules" here are: non-Disney and fully animated theatrical films. Hence why I included films outside the 90s and Dreamworks as well lol
Happy voting! ❤
A few honorable mentions that I couldn't squeeze into the poll:
An American Tail & Fievel Goes West (I just didn't watch them often enough in my childhood to have them Stick With Me, even though I definitely enjoyed them. But my older brother loved them dearly and talked about them a lot, and I appreciate them a lot more now!)
The Land Before Time (yes, I did watch those absurd sequels - up until 7 ish? - and enjoyed the original, but was never Obsessed like my other peers. Perhaps Jurassic Park traumatized me too much to be fond of dinosaurs lol)
The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue (speaking of sequels, I remember the pet one?? pretty well? but not enough to call it a Childhood Fave)
The King & I (absolutely ATROCIOUS adaptation/film, btw, but my siblings and I delighted in quoting the stupid comic relief's lines because Kid Humor is broken lmao the amount of times our poor mother must have heard us go "I never want to see another mango in life" before dissolving into a fit of giggles.....)
Pippi Longstocking (idk I read the book and just was happy to see a beloved book character come to life)
Annabelle's Wish (definitely a STRONG honorable mention cuz I was oddly OBSESSED with the soundtrack for some reason??? but unlike other Obsessed With the Soundtrack movies, this one kinda.... disappeared into the ether of my memories, with only that One Song playing on loop when I think about it)
And finally: shout-out to We're Back, FernGully, Pebble and the Penguin, and Quest for Camelot for being weird-ass fever dream memories until I properly watched them after high school
Cats Don't Dance and Thumbelina are probably the closest things to "honorable mentions" on the poll, but I chose to keep them because I remember DISTINCTLY getting VERY upset over Darla Dimple's scheming in Cats Don't Dance, and feeling whimsically swept up in Thumbelina's fairytale romance. Whereas poor American Tail and Land Before Time didn't "latch onto" me the same way. Who can say why? Memories are a funny thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Intersex Terry Mcginnis
Because I've seen fantastic non-binary Terry from @theycallme-ook and their series, I've seen this gorgeous transmasc Terry from this fic, crown of neon, and @jasontoddssuper with their transfem Butch Terry agenda and hot damn is it great.
(btw using he/him for Terry because that's what the show did.)
Whatever he is, he cisn't.
This is all in the name of trying to incorporate the VERY late game (I truly mean last episode with him ever so it never impacts any other plot just a wrap up theme and thesis statement on Heroism) twist and have it inform his whole - teenage attitude and everything.
so. uh. let's dive.
General warning for intersexism, queer phobia, messing with gender and such. Divorce. Cadmus manipulating people. The violation of consent that's inherent in making someone give birth to and raise a child designed to be a legacy vigilante without them knowing.
Genetic alteration isn't all that it's cracked up to be. It's DNA testing, it's virus loads and constant correction, it's incorporating extra violet genes into flowers and them rejecting them completely and going blank white.
I know it's the DCAU, with Manbat being the first episode, animal chimeras being created all throughout but, fantastic science that let the plot move but. It was the 90s and the early 2000s. on our side the human genome project started in 1985, was partially complete in 2003, and only fully completed in 2022! Cadmus is cutting it close.
there's a lot of room for error, here.
The alterations done to Warren's DNA were sketchy at best. Lots of sperm failed after the nano machines got to them. It was difficult for Mary and Warren to conceive, which is why Terry and Matt are so far apart in age. That put stress on their relationship, not including that the kids don't even look like Warren either.
Mary and Warren were very happy that Terry came to term without major problems. He wasn't visibly intersex until he was born, but because it's the Future TM, they ran the DNA to screen for any major disorders. Terry comes out chimera style intersex, with different DNA depending on where you take the sample. His hormones are giving him a mix of traits that make him ambiguous.
((yeah this is specific but shush: Terry can't naturally grow a beard. (Not like he wants to, he's heard his mom complain too many times about his dad's face bristles to be excited about getting his own.) People generally do a double take with him. "I ate my sister in the womb." Is the snappy answer he likes to give. "she left me with some things."))
The Future is a little more forgiving, there's some paperwork and not much pressure for the parents to put him through infant surgery.
And then we get to Matt. Because Terry was difficult, the parents sought out a fertility clinic to get Matt as good a start as possible.
Terry is angry at first, that he's a genetic mess and they had to go to a clinic to get a "real boy". That they tried to have a "good kid" but it couldn't fix their relationship. That even Matt didn't turn out right; A "clerical error" gives Matt an "anonymous donor" as a father instead of Warren.
It's building up with bunch of smaller things - having to explain their gender every so often, being confused with older buildings with split gender bathrooms and teachers treating him different depending on his perceived gender.
It was clear that the grace period ran out. He just - was given an ultimatum. Guy or girl. There's also some manipulation on Cadmus's part - can't be Batman without being a man...right?
and It's Gotham. Having a healthy vision of masculinity is not going to happen. So to protect himself Terry decides to be a Guy. A Real Cool Guy.
But it's not clicking. He's not comfortable. His parents tell him that he can be "whatever kind of man he wants" but that's still vague.
All this gender identity frustration builds up with his general teenage "pushing boundaries" and "parents arguing" leads him to hang with the wrong crowds.
and that's how he lands in juvie. He ends up calming down, putting himself into a box of "reformed good bad boy" and "I'm committing to the bit." and just dealing. Being a man like Warren is trying to teach him and not just...staying an unknown variable.
Now we incorporate Neo Batman and Bruce. Who have a very strict set of rules about what or who Batman is meant to be. And in a way, it's freeing his head to think about who Terry is outside of the cowl. Bruce is also a Queer Elder, he's seen plenty of people work through their identities and he works with Terry to find a label that fits.
That it doesn't have to be all or nothing, that it can change over time.
Experimentation is expected of teenagers. Splicing is a flat no because of his already precarious genetic status. And Terry likes hanging with his girls that are friends and his girlfriend. He does a mean eyeliner too. Terry is a lot happier.
Mary sighs "is this some late teenage rebellion against your father?"
"I...really don't know what he'd think. This isn't a spite thing. But I don't think he did - or you did anything wrong. It just took me some time to get out of my own head and realize."
"Well. You look settled. He'd be proud of you."
"Thanks ma."

Extremely late Kirby Anime series 22nd anniversary
I know this is very late post but luckily I’m able to draw this as 22nd Anniversary of KRBAY anime series. As someone who is American that used to watch 4kids
Well, gotta to share my story of how I got into Kirby well it’s all started back in early 2000s I don’t know what year was it but I can only say I only remember back in 2008 where me and my siblings as an only girl of my siblings that watches anime and we were staying at my dad place where at afternoon where I tried to find SpongeBob on TV til I accidentally found Kirby but anime on the screen I only remember knuckle Joe episode where he came in cappy town and it was so nostalgic where I grew up with my older brothers who got into like Dragon Ball, Yu Gi Oh, Avatar The Last Airbender and such when 4kids was gone I was sad when I was around age of 5? til around 2013 where I saw escargoon picture on screen thought it was a snail anime show but race cars with salesman guy but didn’t know it was same universe as Kirby. This show got me more into GSA Brainrot, it made me so happy that I made friends in Kirby I want to thank you enough for being my friend and support me, reading KRBAY comic, seeing people fanart and such also rewatched anime brings back memories like nostalgic cuz I’m more of the early 2000s late 90s era like Y2K old school person as Kirby fan but it may not be perfect and glad to made a family out of them ^w^
I thank KRBAY for giving me inspiration for my upcoming comic ideas, inspired me to do art, creating my childhood that will last forever and made fan-arts out of memes and head-cannon
I wanna to add GSA knights to the 22nd anniversary of KRBAY so they don’t feel lefted out and added some iconic characters btw king dedede blocked escargoon out and very much in the rush to draw the anniversary. :3

TMNT
Info about my iteration tmnt:
Yoshi (Splinter) is from the hidden city, when he turned 25 he went to explore the world above. He gets himself into shit, finds a bunch of baby turtles with goop on them, and becomes a father (btw, bro comes from a pretty shitty household full of generational trauma).
He runs away to raise the turtles, and ends up finding a nice little space in the sewers, to which he builds them a home.
Donnie and Raph are twins both 16 with an hour age difference, Leo is the middle child at 15 and Mikey is the youngest at 14. Casey is a 16 year old transgender bitch and April is a 17 year old Girlflux KRAANG hybrid thing. O’neils mother really just banged a mushy alien thing that can shape-shift into anything in the universe.
Tumblr media
Donnie:
Galapagos Tortoises
16 (oldest child, older than Raph by an hour)
Intersex, Biromantic, they/them
Has a dinosaur obsession, likes learning about the human body and other animals, like trains and machines, has probably had a couple lab rats and just didn't tell Yoshi (Splinter). Bro definitely knew.
Usually a bit too big for clothes, so he gets Raph to make most of them to make them bigger. Usually wears "baggy" pants (they ain't baggy on him), long sleeve thermals and flannels.
Tumblr media
Raph:
Common Snapping Turtle
16 (second oldest, younger by an hour)
Bisexual, He/ Him
He likes sewing, knitting and painting. Has a massive collection of old magazines, comics, books and other random items because he has a hard to giving stuff up.

Usually wears windbreaker pants, singlets and jackets.
Tumblr media
Leo:
Painted Terrapin
15 (middle child)
Unlabelled, Trans Fem, She/Her She likes skating, finding cool bugs and watching si-fi movies. She's not really into horror movies, but can handle them. If you give her the chance she'll talk on and on about her interest in Galactic Heros (similar to space heros). She also really likes glitter.
She'll probably eat anything. Like. Anything.
Usually wears sweaters, leg warmers and tracksuit pants.
Tumblr media
Mikey:
Spotted Turtle
14 (youngest)
Aromantic, Agender, usually just uses it/they
They're a very random person, and would probably eat anything and everything. They definitely collect hot wheels and all that stuff. Bro has a 2000s alt fashion mixed with little boy vibe to them, it think it's really cool. They like to express itself with bright colours.
Usually wears beanies, shorts, hand gloves, shirts and ties. Sometimes bracelets too.
Tumblr media
Yoshi (Spliter):
Rat Yoki

Tumblr media
April O'Neil:
Part Indian, Part KRAANG
17 (friend of the turtles, has an older brother)
Sapphic, Girlflux (she/her, they/them, she/ they)
She can "shape-shift"into pretty anything as long as they can picture it. It's a defence mechanism of the KRAANG. It's basically camouflage. She's able to hide their ear tentacle things, which are usually used for hunting things down and connecting to other KRAANGs. She's a pretty good fighter, and usually uses a baseball bat. And she usually hides her KRAANG features.
They also play baseball. They moved from Michigan when she was 13. She's into filming, journalism and photography.
Usually wears long sleeves, jeans, converses, cardigans and her homemade necklaces and earrings.
Tumblr media
Casey Jones:
Part Mexican, Part American.
16 (friend to turtles, oldest child of two)

Ok I caved in and played the og Postal game, as in the one that's free on steam currently. Here are my thoughts very messily arranged after finishing a single playthrough in one sitting.
Long fucking post ahead
Initial thoughts? that bitch should NOT be as loud as it is when you first launch the game good god I didn't even have my volume up all the way and I still got jumpscared by intense metal scraping, screaming, banging and an assortment of creepy sounds. I get it, ambiance and mood or whatever and I think it was done on purpose but geez calm down.
Also it forces you into fullscreen with no option for windowed at all which is a curse for me the sort of guy that likes to pause mid playthrough to scroll social media for 20 minutes before coming back in (I still did it even with fullscreen, I'm unstoppable). This is not however like a genuine complaint or anything just a pet peeve, the game is also old so like they were all forcefully fullscreen back then. Even in the 2000s the games grabbed you by the throat and forced you into fullscreen I remember it SO clearly, and you'd be lucky if they gave you the option for windowed (I was born in 2000 btw for reference) thankfully my beautiful beloved windows key button is there for me, mwah.
As for true first gameplay thoughts? well I did the main campaign or whatever it's called (I suck at retaining information bear with me this isn't a serious review or analysis go watch some dude on youtube for that), I played on easy in sort of a preemptive way because I know older games tend to be hard and I am not a talented gamer however I should have perhaps played in normal difficulty because halfway through the playthrough I had topped my health and it would ever barely go past 130 so I was practically invincible, the main gun also had infinite ammo and idk if that's because of the difficulty I chose or that's the default... I'm assuming it's a difficulty setting thing.
Starting the game is a bit... jarring?? It just gives you the ever famous bit of creepy text at the start before you press enter and you're just unceremoniously dropped in the level, you're not given a tutorial of any sort or ANYTHING you're just there but thankfully I was smart enough to check the controls before starting the game... that uhh... still didn't stop me from accidentally pressing Q which is the suicide button and I got an achievement for that then had to start the level from scratch again. First things I noticed as I was simply dropped in was just the lack of music, there is ambiance sounds but there is no music there are no sound cues no anything most of what you will hear are the voices of your victims, the sound of guns, violence, and the random Postal Dude voice line which he does not speak a lot at all. There are some bits of music sometimes in some levels but they tend to happen if you're standing by a specific place or did a specific thing.
Most notable sounds that stuck to me were the sirens at the air force base (I think it was air force base, again my memory is bad I don't retain shit well) and a church in the bad neighborhood level that if you approach you start to hear what sounds like children chanting and whispering, very creepy! love that!.
The one sound cue that you can hear whenever must be activated by yourself which is the Execution, simply approach a crawling victim and press X to finish them off, didn't figure that part out myself for a while until I checked the keybinds a second time and I was like? what's this?. The execution will play a sound cue and make Dude shoot the victim finishing them off, it is rather sinister the first time and has you going ooooo but then it sorta becomes this repetitive thing as you keep playing. There are no different execution animations depending on what gun you had equipped at the time, Dude just does the same animation and sound which is a bit disappointing but hey it's whatever.
Also had to learn the hard way that while you're in the execution animation you are not invulnerable and will eat shit and die, I think it was in the second level that I went to execute an enemy and I got a rocket to the face that killed me in the spot (that earned me an achievement tho) in the end the execution mechanic is useful just to make the Hostile number go down faster rather than wait for them to die, that or you're just simply an asshole. Pick one!
My personal playstyle was not to kill civilians if I could avoid it, not because I think I'm some angel and I must prove to others that I am not evil just because I played The Violent Game but just because I didn't want to, I wasn't here to be a completionist. I must however say that once you've killed all hostiles and you're walking around the map and you see that the population count is simply one... you can't help but hunt down that single person and make that number go to 0, and that's probably why I need a trained professional to talk to idk (JOKE JOKE JOKE)
Civilians and Hostiles are not that hard to distinguish from each other, they have different designs and you'll quickly be able to tell which is which by the end of the first level however you WILL kill civilians even if you don't want to because oh my god do they love to get in between you and the enemy, there is also friendly fire between civilians and hostiles like they just be killing each other without me doing jack shit it's kind of ironic in a way.
When I got to the level with the marching band I initially just watched them go until they got exploded by Hostiles and then I died shortly after so on my second try at the level I don't know what came over me but I tried and for the most part succeeded in protecting the marching band from hostiles for a little while, it was kinda funny.
I only ever died like 4 times maximum because again halfway through I had maxed out my health and the enemies barely did any damage to me, this sorta warrants a second playthrough in a harder difficulty I think
As for the maps themselves I really liked them I think I like the world of Postal 1 more than Postal 2 and the rest but that might just be because I am a certified desert hater (I WANT MY GREENS) I really liked the style in which the maps are drawn they're all in these dark colors but still have parts that pop out when necessary, and I was also very surprised when the perspective became even more top down view than before then went back to normal.
Overall the whole vibe of the game made me feel like I was a kid again playing an incredibly violent and horrible flash game on a free website without parental supervision, I know flash games came AFTER Postal 1 but I wasn't born at that time so my childhood experience is that. I am so sure that Postal inspired so many of those horrible flash games and I wasn't even aware, I honestly could see little pre-teen me somehow playing Postal and like getting nothing of it because I didn't know english LMAO
When you reach the end of the game AKA the infamous school part you do NOT get to play at all, it's just a cutscene of Dude going ham and causing no damage before he breaks down and yada yada yada he gets locked up blah blah blah the stress of modern life blah blah we get it.
Weirdly enough only 8.9% of players have the achievement for finishing the game (Called Get A Girlfriend, funny name) so like I wonder what the hell people are doing that they aren't finishing the free game that took me uhh *looks at playtime* 2.1 HOURS TO FINISH most likely less bc at least a few couple of minutes was me tabbing out of the game but still having it open
Also thing I forgot to mention earlier when talking abt the controls... when you finish a level you aren't immediately sent to the next you're just...there... it took me a bit to realize that you're supposed to press F1 to go to the next level which again I found out bc I'm such a nerd about checking keybinds before starting games
Now uhhh aesthetic thoughts, I already said I like the level maps I find them nice and interesting probably my least favorite was The Farm because 1: I expected pigs and cows and sheep and I spawned in SURROUNDED BY OSTRICHES? and 2: it has tons of foliage and trees that obscure your view and this wouldn't really be an issue because when dude goes under there's an overlay that let's you see but it does NOT happen when an enemy goes under or behind it so you essentially loose track of them but they can still see and shoot you which made this level a tad bit annoying, thankfully it was one of the levels with the least amount of hostiles to deal with.
As for all the creepy illustrations and art between levels and stuff, I like it a lot! I'm just a horror lover in general and I love creepy visuals and boy does Postal have those, the diary entries before every level though? ehhhhhh they're hit or miss for me... mostly miss, the "the earth is hungry, the earth is also thirsty" strikes me as funny for some reason? Idk I think that's a me being weird thing. Postal Dude is over there losing his goddamn mind and I'm grading his diary entries like "this text isn't as evocative as you think it is, you should read more literature"
Final thoughts? Good game, fun game. I'm fine with weird violent games that challenge our morals and stuff I think those should exist to some extent and the game Hatred from 2015 wishes it was half as compelling as Postal 1997 is. I can see how this game caused such a scandal back in the day I mean you're just going out and killing everyone in sight and Postal Dude clearly enjoys it and regards himself as some sort of hero for it, fucked up stuff! I just personally no longer react with the same sort of shock I did as a kid to that stuff bc I've been desensitized and can detach myself from the scenario it gives me. Could go on a tangent abt how different the rest of the Postal series is and how I'm a bit adamant abt playing that (You cannot make me play Postal 3 fucking ever, sorry) but I'm lazy and I got no valuable points to make so I won't
Final verdict is play the game if you got like 2 free hours and just want some mostly mindless point and clicking action

came on tumblr to find some funny fanart and history facts but i blew theough my feed so funky wrring ideas time!
here's a little hogwarts x hetalia idea i was working on to entertain myself the other day
So the premise was that, y'know how in HP there's dragons and a couple are Scandinavian? Norweigen Eidgeback, Sweedish Shoetsnout. And Denmark has a magical government. Finland the personification also probably has some magic because of the whole santa thing, and just becuase tou can't see norway's trolls doesn't mean you don't know Hp magic cuz even muggles can see that stuff. So let's assume countries could see HP magic, just not always do it themselves. And i would hope they know about their magical governmwnts except maybe America who is in denial. Actually maybe Germany doesn't know either but you canMt tell me the Nordics don't know about theirs, not when Norway is right there and Iceland literally has A TALKING BIRD and can probably dk magic if he wanted to and Sweden is up in the air (i like the headcanon he's very much in need of a new glasses prescription) but i want to say he does because finland + isn't durnatrang somewhere up there and potentially in Sweden? And Denmark, well he's besties with Norway sooooo
also you can't tell me they didn't know for 1000 years like c'mon. Older countries def know about magic and younger countries are like modern people, they don't believe it unless it's smack in their face. Can't tell me HTTYD came out of nowhere either and is based on VIKINGS-
anyways lets say this is set like 2000s after stuff dies down
so i had this little picture where the nordics got really bored and what did they do? Hey look, a dragon! Let's ride it!
iceland thinks it's a bad idea but nation power = animals galore so anyways now Norway and Swedenband suprirsingly Denmark are being menaces on dragons. Finland is filmin but soon joins Sweden on his Sweedish Shortsnout. Iceland will keep his feet on the ground thank you very much he does not like flying, when his whole thing is boats and water and fishing.
well before he knows it, the Nordics have a new paatime: professional dragon riding. And professional HTTYD-type fighting. Cuz wizards love old stuff like that.
they get a little popular to Iceland's annoyance
anyways at some point they end up at hogwarts and oh joy this is fine. Iceland just has to talk to each year, because five days = mornings + afternoons = ten slots for this little guest series and if they give years 1-7 one of those slots each and then some extra time for the COMC class and then pne more day for doing whatever like demos or stuff or in case of a delay, it works out peefectly! Iceland as the one not riding gets deemed "the lresenter" but its fine he leads tours of his home all the time anyways being in tourism buisness.
and anyways they're using Norway's usual ruse of "my name is Lukas Bondevik, heir of the Ancient House lf Bondevik" and Sweden pulls out his "my laat name is Oxenstierna" card whoch Denmark stares and gapes at. While sweden snickers, and Iceland just triesbto figure out s family tree to explain that one because seriously you guys one day the public will realize something's up idc if the both governments muggle and matic said it's fine-
anyways he always starts his spiel to the children with with "don't try this at home dragons are DANGEEROUS, yes rhe hirncolor is natural, and for the older ones "no i am taken i am not single" (he's refering to having a life partner in a bird as his one truest friend btw)
and iceland is just kinda done by the end lf it, cuz he's on the ground and the nordics are showing off more and more and finally on the laat day after telling everyone he doesnt fly for pwrsonal reaskns he loses it at Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland teasing him and oop now he's flying and the others are scrambling a little because it's Iceland that knows things the wizards want to know, and Denmark is trying to keep it together while Norway takes pics and Sweden is flying because kh gosh iceland gkt on NORWAY's dragon and Finland is laughing. Hogwarts is amazed the 17 year. Old can also fly but also omfg-
and that's as far as i got for now tbh

Hello! I saw SID at Anime Central back in the early 2000s. I had one of the singles with Ao and Watashi wa Ame on it, but there's another song I remember but I can't find it! What other older songs of theirs didn't make it to Renai and beyond? I'm desperate to figure out what this song is!
Hi!
@gschaina-blog messaged me again and clarified that it was a Shula song, so that's why it was not included in any other albums.
I take this opportunity to clarify that, as far as I know, only Dekisokonai isn't included in any album/single.
(btw, it's so cool that you saw them at Acen! I heard it was a crazy live)

The Wake - my IWTV dream last night
I had an AU dream about IWTV and had to write it down.
In my dream, AMC's Louis and Lestat are married with 3 children (ABO/mpreg for life), but are currently seriously considering divorcing--Lestat's cheating, and Louis' more married to his job (a book editor who works nights remotely). Claudia, Madeleine/Madeline & Viktor are just kids (14, 10 and 6), caught in the middle--Claud wants to stay w/ Louis, Madeline* wants to stay w/ Claud, Vik* doesn't want them to split at all.
*10 yr old Madeline resembles a much younger Bailey Bass, but with bluer eyes cuz of Lestat, and darker skin cuz of Louis. *Vik is Lestat's mini-me, just with curlier hair.
Gabrielle babysits the kids when Loustat's fights get too nasty, but she hates babysitting, and even though she doesn't get along w/ Louis, sometimes she gangs up on Lestat with Lou ("ugh, you're just like your father!"). It's a whole mess. Where do we go from here?
Gabby recommends they all take a break at their tropical vacation home on Night Island (ofc she does). But one night, in the middle of a(nother) particularly bad argument that the kids are unfortunately there to witness, there's a bad storm--lightning, power goes out, etc. In all the ruckus, there's suddenly banging on the back patio door facing the stormy ocean, the front door by the main road, and the basement door in the wine cellar.
Les checks the entrance, Lou checks the back, Gab checks the basement. The kids hide in their rooms.
Lou sees someone unconscious on the beach, about to get sucked into the water by the waves. It's "Lestat," dressed in ancient clothes. Running up to him from the side is a frantic "Louis," also dressed in ancient clothes (1700s*--the Ep7 ball blouses), soaking wet. He's speaking rapid French, looking for the owners of the house, cuz his "Lestat" is unconscious, and 1700s!Lou has no idea where they are--their ship to Paris sank.
*1700s!Loustat is still the AMC 2022 version, cuz I have no interest in the book/film Loustats anymore, ick.
Les sees someone (a corpse!?) unconscious & bleeding in their driveway, with several broken limbs. It's "Louis," dressed in vintage clothes. A blubbering "Lestat," also dressed in vintage (1930s--all black from Ep5), is on the front porch. He's crying heavily, face bloody. He had taken Louis flying over NOLA but dropped him, and they somehow landed here.
It's a whole isekai anime, pretty much. Everyone's struck dumb once they realize they're looking at their doppelgangers, while their spouse lies "dead" before them. They need to all get in the house. The 2 Lous carry "Les" in from the water, and the 2 Lestats carry "Lou" in from the front porch.
But inside, the kids' screaming suddenly seems to have doubled, and Gab's cussing up a storm. There's another "Gab," dressed in muddy 1700s hunter's gear, catfighting modern!Gab & tearing up the basement. And there's 2 sets of kids running around scared of each other (1700s "Claudia" is 5, 1700s "Madeleine" is 21ish, and 1990s/2000s "Viktor" is 18ish--they all look like younger/older versions of the modern kids).
The chaos doesn't stop until everyone notices the half drowned "Les" & bleeding "Lou," and the confusion/panic increases.
There are 3 Lous:
modern!Lou (online book editor; looks like Dubai!Louis btw)
1700sLou (was on a ship to Paris with drowned/swamp!Les)
1930sLou (Ep5 broken & bloody, after 1930sLes dropped him)
There are 3 Lestats:
modern!Les (cheating; former rockstar; music producer)
1700sLes (drowned/swamp!Les; was on a ship to Paris)
1930sLes (guilty after having dropped broken!Lou in NOLA)
There are 2 Gabrielles:
mod!Gab (old money paleo-archaeologist)
1700sGab (old money adventurer)
There are 2 sets of kids:
Claudia (14 & 5)
Madeline (10 & 21)
Viktor (6 & 18)
The Gabs are the first to recover--mod!Gab performs CPR on drowned/swamp!Les, and the 2 awake Lous corral the kids away. 1700sGab sets broken!Lou on the floor and rearranges his limbs, while the 2 awake Lestats start pouring blood on his wounds.
The unconscious Les & Lou are still out cold, but are visibly healing. Everyone hovers around awkwardly, not knowing what else to do but wait, like they're sitting at a funeral wake almost. Everyone's clearly got burning questions.
1700sGab is distraught to see HER 1700sLes out cold, but 1700sLou doesn't know who she is. But he knows 5 yr old Claud & 21 year old Mad, and they know him.
1930sLes is the most horrified--he's seeing double of his mom, whom he hasn't seen in "centuries," and he recoils from 14yr old Claud. He doesn't know the other kids at all. He is stunned by sexy & confident modern!Lou, and pities 1700sLou, who is hella sad & weepy. (Modern!Lestat tells him to keep his eyes on his own Louis--which modern!Louis finds HIGHLY ironic.)
No one knows "Vik," but he recognizes his 6yr old self, and mod!Loustat as his dads. He doesn't know his sisters, and they don't know him, but they know each other.
They all have the same questions for each other, but don't get very far that night, as emotions take over, and everyone's confused as to how they all got there, from obviously very different time periods. But the sun is rising. The doppelganger Loustats are shocked by all the modern fixtures, and ESPECIALLY the UV windows. The modern Loustat are used to being up during the day, but the older ones aren't--1930s Les, 1990sVik, and 1700sGab are the only ones who can stay up just fine (they're strong, and more curious than tired), but all the other doubles are tired. The broken Lou & comatose Les are sheltered in spare coffins in the basement (which the chagrined Gabs offer to clean). The modern!Sisters double up in mod!Claud's room so the doppelganger!Sisters can share mod!Mad's room. 1700sLou is given the guest room so he can cry himself to sleep. 1930s Les, 1990sVik, and 1700sGab are all fine on the pullout couches in the den.
This is where my dream got spotty, and it was skipping around a lot as it kept going, like I was seeing scenes out of order. (It actually felt like episodes of The Real World or some other reality tv show--it went from suspense & drama and creeping me out like the Tethered in Us; to actually making me laugh myself awake right when I got the sense that the different Loustats were attracted to each other. O_O)
It's been bothering me how AMC said the show will still be called IWTV, not VC, cuz the big question's who's gonna keep doing the interviews? How will the interviews play out for TV, rather than in the books?
But basically the jist of my dream was that the "Interview" was amongst themselves, as the vampires all tried to figure out what had gone wrong with all of the Loustats' relationship. The most immediate concern was how the injured Lou & Les ended up that way--and it's quickly apparent that their corresponding spouses are lying/hiding things. 1930sLes was way too withholding, and 1700sLou was so emotional & guilty.
Modern!Loustat's impending divorce is mirrored in the other Loustat's issues, which start slowly coming to the fore, as they all realize that all of their relationships hadn't been great for awhile, and the kids are caught in the middle. The Gabs slowly start speaking up, revealing the part they've been playing; how Lestat's neglect of his kids & husband reflects her own bad marriage to his father, and her neglecting her own kids. Gab and Lou are too similar, and history is just repeating itself.
The ones who are most candid end up being the kids--the fact that the kids know SOME of the Loustats or siblings but not others is very telling. 1930s'Les' bad reaction to 14yr old mod!Claud is troubling, and the fact that he's so unprepared to see his mom(s), and has NO idea who the other kids are. 5yr old Claud's reaction to ALL of the Lestats is the worst, but she loves all the Lous. 21!Madeline is the most cool & collected, very detached, and clings more to bb!Claud, as Madeline isn't too comfortable around ANY of the Loustats. 18!Vik is the oddest one of all. He's the spitting image of the Leses, but no one knows him. But he seems to catch on the quickest out of everyone, like he knows/suspects what's going on, but he's very quiet & patient & sticks mostly to himself. He's most interested in bb!Vik, who's excited to have a big brother he can show off all his toys & comics to (Vik is quickly spoiled on a few plots--the most upset he's seemed to date).
It's only once the injured 1700s!Les & 1930s!Lou finally wake up that the truth starts coming out more:
1700s!Les had actually been chasing after 1700s!Lou, who'd run off with the girls to Paris. They were afraid of Les, cuz he was practically criminally insane--sick and sadistic, mean to Lou and the girls, a complete sociopath and psychopath. He was masking his fear that they'd leave him in extreme acts that only made them more desperate to leave than ever. 1700s!Loustat came to physical blows on the ship, and 5!Claud got between them and knocked Les overboard to get him away from Lou. But Lou jumped after Les, Claud accidentally(??) fell overboard (she's hard to read), and Mad jumped after Claud. Loustat & the girls magically washed ashore at the house.
1930s!Lou was indeed dropped from the sky--but Les did it intentionally. He had tried to wine & dine an increasingly disassocative Lou, who was depressed after their own 14!Claud had run away and been killed by another vamp (Bruce?Armand?). Les took Lou up into the air to try and be romantic, but they ended up arguing over Claud anyway. It got NASTY, and Lou spat "I hate you, let go of me!" Petty & vindictive, Les dropped him, and soon regretted it, but when he flew back down they were isekai'd.
18!Vik finally pipes up that he was sent to them by the Talamasca. He comes from a different dimension/time than book!Viktor. Dr Fareed still created Vik as Lestat's clone, but this Vik HATES that he grew to be an adult never knowing his father(s). He asked the Talamasca to help him find a way to make it so Les never missed out on Vik's childhood, and was never separated from Louis either. So the Talamasca sent Vik to this dimension, where he soon realizes that bb!Vik would end up raised in a broken home (mod!Loustat), or not be born at all (1700s/1930s Loustat) if Loustat didn't realize that they are a family, genuinely love each other, and that they need to learn to communicate better--not get into petty arguments, fisticuffs, or leave when things get hard.
So all three Loustats learn the error of their ways. No one divorces, amends are made between parents and children. They all go back to their proper timelines, but as better people. And 18!Vik is happy to know that even though he missed out on knowing his parents as a kid, he has eternity to get to know them now, and that at least Loustat in his timeline managed to figure all this stuff out without him, before dragging anymore of their kids into their mess. So Vik learned to appreciate what he already had; and everyone lives happily ever after.
Good for them and all--but I'm still sleep deprived.

MY SPECIAL INTEREST IS (FASHION) DOLLS‼️‼️
I don’t mention it on tumblr much cuz I mostly use this for art, but I absolutely LOVE dolls and I always have.
I have a collection of 70+ dolls, but I haven’t counted them in a while so I definitely think it could be 80+ by now or more!! I should check again soon.
My favorite lines are probably Lol Surprise Omg/Lol Surprise Tweens and Lalaloopsy, but I love a lot of others too like Monster High (G3, mostly) and Rainbow High! I don’t have many Barbie dolls, i only got my first one around October/November-ish last year, but I have 4 now! 2 of them are newer (Perfect Day/Movie Barbie & 2023 Holiday Barbie), and 2 of them are older (Barbie In The Pink Shoes & a 90’s Barbie I found naked at a thrift store so idk who she was lol). I don’t like a lot of newer Barbie dolls bc a lot of the quality just,,, isn’t there, but I do want to collect more 90’s Barbie’s and late 2000s/early 2010s Barbie’s because she’s very nostalgic for me.
I love fashion dolls for so many different reasons. I’ve always been interested in fashion, and I love self expression. I love dressing super colorfully and over the top (when I have the energy too. Cuz yknow. Autism lmao.) So it’s fun being able to not only fill my room with dolls wearing fun outfits, but being able to mix and match things and create whole new looks is genuinely so exhilarating for me!! I don’t restyle dolls extremely often bc I don’t wanna ruin any dolls, but when I can and do restyle dolls without needing to worry abt that, they can become some of my favorites!! I think there might also be a visual stim factor to it, tho I can’t figure out if I like dolls bc they’re visual stimulating for me, or if they’re visually stimulating for me because I like them. But either way, I can pick one doll out for the day, take it with me wherever I go, and just stare at it and keep noticing new details in the face or clothing, or even just staring at my favorite parts over n over. And there’s definitely physical stimulation too, because I love feeling the fabric and the hair, and it’s especially nice if it has a good amount of articulation so I can move them around and pose them in different ways. And there’s so many other reasons I love them too.
I also often really enjoy the movies and tv shows that doll lines come with! Lalaloopsy Girls: Welcome To Lala Prep is genuinely one of my favorite movies, period. I like all the other Lalaloopsy movies too, and the Nick Jr show (I don’t really like the Netflix Lalaloopsy show tho). There’s also 2003 Strawberry Shortcake, which btw, had some absolute BANGER songs in some episodes. I’ve seen a good amount of Monster High movies by now, my fave is probably Ghouls Rule bc it focuses more on Jackson Jekyll and he’s my fav character <33. Ever After High is great, I never watched it as a kid, but even just watching it in its entirety like a few months ago, it’s a good show with some of the best digital puppet animation I’ve ever seen.
I think I should probably stop now cuz I have things to do but OMMFGFGG I COULD GO ON LITERALLY FOREVER
hey, if you're autistic, adhd, nd etc. could you reblog this and infodump in the tags about your special interests or current hyperfixations? i'd love to hear abt them! ^_^

Zeta: One thing that I haven't seen talked about much when it comes to the whole Harry Potter and JKR situation is those who may use it as part of helping to cope with trauma, who may be ignorant of the problematic nature of the series' themes.
Growing up, the series was very much a coping mechanism for us, there was a lot about the characters that was relatable, ect. And in being trans, when Rowling's true colors became apparent, it was a very painful expirience for us, to know her true opinion of us. It poisoned an important part of our childhood, and having to let go of it hurt and took time, especially when thinking about it also dug up a lot of memories of repressed trauma. And I want to emphasize here, we had direct motivation and an active desire to do this. But when it comes to your average cishet person even just existing around them in our experience can range anywhere from hostility to awkward confusion.
On the antisemitic themes in the book, to be quite honest that was something that flew under our radar a bit, until we happened across explicitly the information of "here are some examples of antisemitic tropes that are used in media" and then our brain instantly started making connections to a lot of different examples in quite a few bits of media. Which is unsurprising, especially when you consider that at least in my experience, this Christian-centric society very much glosses over other non-Christian religions, and in being an American, I'd wager that someone living practically anywhere else is more educated on the rest of the world. In schools you're told in a sort of offhand way that other religious holidays happen around Christmas time, and Jewish people are brought up when it's pertinent, but always as a sort of footnote, like "btw these people exist." I'm taking from my own expiriences here, but compared to how the US approached other religions, Jewish people and Judaism were a topic to be approached with a polite, but careful curiosity. Like idk waiting for an abused person or animal to open up to you, since the only thing that the average person really knows about from school is the Holocaust. Even making an attempt to educate yourself, reading about things in a factual way vs actually understanding their perspective are two completely different things, and imho getting information directly from a person is preferrable. But when you're told things like "Jewish people keep to themselves" in such a way that implies that they collectively want nothing to do with anyone else and you are in fact being intrusive, when you're given dirty looks and firm silence while simply popping into a store every once in awhile because it has a nice bakery, it breeds a sort of confused shame. Because you know that you're dealing with people who to say they have suffered a lot is a massive understatement, but it then begs questions of "am I really not wanted around? Is going to buy some pastries such a bad thing? Or is this all the result of social anxiety? How do I make things right, if no one will so much as say hello back?" It feels like another reminder of how atrocious people's education is here, but imho in a way that's not particularly constructive. We've onmy learned what we have due to surprise, surprise interacting with Jewish people, listening to their perspectives and stories. So we're only now aquiring knowledge that we've been looking for since middle school, but had never been able to get due to situations like the above.
While individual people being antisemitic was fairly easy to pick up on since those individuals tend to go all-out on the matter, we wouldn't have factually known an antisemitic media trope if it hit us in the face. Because as 90's (and maybe 2000's) kids all grew older and were exposed to different kinds of people with the rise of the internet there was also more exposure of and communication about harmful stereotypes that popular cartoons were saturated with. From what we've observed, it's similar to what happened with consumerism in that it wound up having the opposite effect, maybe because it was so perliferious as to be incomprehensible, or maybe like us as an autistic child all the rascist stuff flew over your head head just because you were taught to just be a decent person to everyone.
So while there's zero argument that Rowling is a person with some horrible views, and therefore that is reflected in her work, I think it might also be good to keep these sorts of things in mind when initially interacting with those who are unaware of these issues. Immediately shaming ignorant people for liking a thing isn't the answer, nor is simply yelling at them, "Your coping mechanism for dealing with your trauma is BAD!" and demanding that they just find something else. Coping mechanisms don't just work like that, and it comes across as trivializing their own expiriences. You could potentially be attempting to strip someone of an important coping mechanism that could create a ripple effect. Like let's say you have someone who loves to read, a love that was initially born out of Rowling's books. If you're too forceful with someone, you're going to to make things worse either relationship wise and drive someone into the opposite direction, or you're going to potentially shame someone to where they give up on something that they love as a whole, we've seen both happen.
So explain calmly, slowly. Give them time to digest. Allow them to come to their own conclusions. Pay attention to whether or not they're resistant to the idea of abandoning JKR, or Harry Potter, because while you can't separate the art from the artist, based on my own experience with coping with the reality of the situation their mind might try at first, because weighing a coping mechanism against compassion or "the greater good" can be hard emotionally bc feels are Like That. Think of it like growing pains.
If it becomes clear that they don't give a fuck, then that's another story, but I felt that even if these concepts aren't the most refined it's still would be good to bring up, because no one seems to be talking about anything like this. No one is immune to echo chambers, it's a lot easier for us to talk about all the ways in which the Queen Bee-got is bad, because we all have the same basic understanding, but communicating these things we see as fundamental facts due to our first hand and emotionally charged expiriences to other people who have next to no connection to the issue in a healthy way can sometimes require a finesse that the internet and social media seems to have obliterated.

Digimon Adventure 02 (Blind Watch) - Episode 2
Whew, took me awhile to get to this episode because life got really busy. Excited to have time for anime again. This episode was fun. We’re still in the “introducing stuff” phase and I almost feel like they’re moving too quickly. We got so many new digivolution reveals this episode and I feel like that’s takes the fun out of things. On the other hand, maybe that’s a good thing because it means they won’t be relying on digivolution reveals to make each episode interesting? I guess we’ll have to see...
Digimon introduced: Poromon, Hawkmon, Holsmon, Upamon, Armadillomon, Digmon, DemiVeemon
Notes:
-This seems like a common thing in older shows (the original Tokyo Mew Mew comes to mind) but the narrator dude in the beginning sounds SO bored! Why did they hire some monotone middle aged guy to read the script? I think the dub idea of having one of the kid’s narrate not only makes way more sense but gives more personality to the episode intros.
-"Kaiser” was a weird choice for the name of this season’s villain. I had to Google where it came from and apparently it’s from the time of the Holy Roman Empire. It just makes me think of sandwiches tho lol
-I get the vibe from the OP that the Digimon Kaiser will have a redemption arc, but rn he just seems like a cringey chuunibyou kid
-I got culture-shocked (time-shocked?) when the teacher was like “of course I can’t use a computer!” How far we’ve come...(I was 8 when this episode came out btw).
-The transition to the new “chosen children” seems so weird to me. They’re singled out with their new digivices and only their outfits change when they come to the digital world. It’s like the digital world was like “meh, we don’t need you older kids anymore.” I do like how they’re setting up the OGs as mentors though, that’s cute.
-The fashion sense and hairstyles are baaaaad. What the heck did they do to Mimi!? They massacred my gurl
-Why couldn’t the new kids have gotten unique crests instead of the same ones as the previous chosen kids? I don’t like how they’re setting them up as archetypes already instead of letting them be their own thing for a bit.
-Miyako saying “we’re prepared for danger!” and then flailing and screaming 2 seconds later was kind of annoying, but also she’s like 12 so that’s pretty par for the course.
-Sora reassuring Miyako by saying “I know you’re scared now, but you’ll cherish these memories someday” kinda felt like Miyako was being suckered into a cult lol. Being “chosen” sure is a lot of pressure for an elementary schooler.
-I noted that Iori, AKA Koushiro 2.0, got the digimon with the funny accent, just like Tentomon. Interesting...
-I like the cheesy early 2000s sequence that plays where the kids get sucked into the digital world. Kinda dated, but in a good way.
-The designs of the new digimon are okay in baby and rookie forms, but I think the armor digivolutions are butt ugly. Unsurprisingly, I don’t see a lot of fanart or nostalgia out there for them.
-I wonder why some characters have completely black eyes and others have more traditionally “anime” eyes. It gets a little distracting at points when you see both side-by-side.
-The new battle music is wimpy as heck. I never really loved the season 1 battle music either, but this music is weirdly quiet and not intense enough. I felt like the sound effects were really drowning it out.
