SWEDEN - Peter Hägelstam, Johan Hellström and Matthias Lavesson

I will start with Peter Hägelstam, who has been the hairdresser of Queen Silvia for more than 40 years, him and Johan Hellström are the owners of Björn Axén, and both took on the task of styling also Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine.

Thank to the recent release of the book "Björn Axén – Haute Coiffure" and the round of interviews and podcasts, Peter has been giving a little insight behind the scenes of the updos we all love. Like how he clears his schedule when the Queen calls or that they do have a hairdresser station in the palace for him and his team to work his magic.

Peter Hägelstam is behind most of Queen Silvia's Nobel looks (apart from her regular tiara hair), even my absolute fave, 1991's Silvia with red orchids in her hair (he assisted Björn Axén on it).

According to Peter, they plan the hair so it interacts with the dress, if the dress is big and has volume, the hair is also big and with volume. The hair must be a continuation of the tiara, so his hairstyles are always well integrated in an harmonious styling. Peter also talks about how this Nobel looks fixes the wearer's posture, as they tend to have their back strighter so the hair don't come undone with all the movement.

Silvia and Victoria like to wear jewelry on their updos, so that an apparently simple updo, can be elevated with a little bling.

He also talked about some tricks like after doing a bun and just before applying haispray one last time, they pull a bit the hair so it has a little bit of more body, or about why Madeleine is the best with he hair down, not my words, just Peter's:

"If there is anyone who can wear her hair down with full control, it is Princess Madeleine. She has the ability to move carefully so that the hair does not move. An open hairstyle demands a lot from the hairdresser and this time it was Ring Ljung who received that honor. He is fantastic at working in layers. You don't spray everything into one unit, but the hair is a little articulated while still staying in place."

And you all would think, how much time do they spend doing the hair? Because one would think that this kind of intricate work would take a few hours, but that's far from the truth, because according to Peter, there has been times where doing Silvia's hair took a whooping 20 minutes. Maybe hair pieces and extensions facilitate his work and shorten the time, but even when asked about it, he doesn't confirm nor deny that they use them, he just talk about a little bit of help after Silvia cut her hair short and that sometimes, the hair needs a little rest. So in Royal Hair talk it is a yes, but we'll keep his secret.

Peter was also asked about Victoria's hair being always in a bun. He says that Victoria is the most conservative and less adventurous with the hair, and while I don't agree with him I get where he's coming from as in recent years the style is always a variant of a bun.

Victoria prefers her hair out of the face so her features are showcased, and she also has that preference because she has curly hair and as a person on the curly side, I know that the weather can change drastically your hairdo, so that's why she mostly wears a safe hairstyle to not worry about how she's looking. But what Peter also says is that privately Victoria does wear her hair down often! In this blog I always celebrated like a wedding announcement when Victoria wore her hair down, and all I ask is to have more of those days because the looks stunning like in her 10th wedding anniversary photos.

Lastly, I don't want to forget about Sofia's hairdresser Matthias Lavesson, we don't have as much information about him like Peter Hägelstam as Sofia's time as a royal is just 10 years.

Matthias was trained by Peter himself, so it's not surprising that Sofia chose him as her hairdresser.

He was the man behind the beautiful updo with the black ribbon flowers in 2023 and that should not be a shock as he's also a head piece maker, so if we combine his two talents, all we get is combos like the ponytail with a huge ribbon headband on Julian's christening or a few headpieces on the opening of the Parliament:

As I said, there's not so much information on him and how he worked specifically with Sofia, I just found one interview where he talks about tips and products he uses (that's the last link if you want to read it). But what we do have is a testament of his work with Sofia's appearances.

“Mm I’ve come to an important conclusion. I’m completely irresistible.”

Sirius proudly announced with a grin. They were all sat in the common room, Sirius leaning against James on the sofa. Remus was sat in the arm chair next to him, on his other side Lily, Mary and Peter were taking up the other sofa.

Peter and Lily looked at each other comically before turning and raising their eyebrows at him.

“Sorry yeah, I’m irresistible to everyone that experiences attraction to men.”

Mary laughed then.

“Sure you are.”

Sirius huffed out angrily.

“I am! I’ll prove it to you.”

“Oh please, been there done that. I’m just saying irresistible to everyone who feels attraction to men might be a stretch.”

Sirius whipped his head round to James.

“Tell her she’s wrong.”

“Of course she’s wrong, if I didn’t have an amazing and super hot boyfriend already I’d definitely be a Sirius Black groupie full time.”

“You basically already are.”

Remus chuckled, gesturing at the array of multicoloured hair bands James had around his wrist for Sirius to tie his hair up with at every given moment because Sirius never remembered to bring any. James was an ardent Sirius Black supporter.

That’s when Remus knew he’d made a mistake, the moment Sirius’ eyes landed on him they sparkled mischievously.

“Moony you’re perfect!”

“Huh?”

“I’ll prove it by getting you to kiss me. One month, if Moony hasn’t kissed me by the end of the month I’ll- I’ll cut my hair short! I bet you.”

Everyone gasped. Sirius’ hair was- well- it was Sirius’ hair.

They were all a bit drunk, Remus had thought it would pass. He’d be fine. The urge to kiss Sirius senseless was something he’d learnt to control early. Remus. would. be. fine.

Remus wasn’t fine. It hadn’t passed at all, in fact it seemed to grow every day. And Sirius was good at it, bloody good at it all. Remus was lanky and awkward, he didn’t flirt. Sirius did though, really fucking well. It had begun with small touches to his arm as Sirius let out little laughs and squinted smiles, hands lingering just a bit longer than it ought to, trailing down to his own hand before dropping away.

Then it was Sirius wearing Remus’ jumper that was far too big for him, practically swallowing him up as he leaned forward, against Remus as they watched television. A little contented hum as he dropped his head onto Remus’ shoulder and nestled his head against his neck.

Then Sirius started getting bored of subtly.

“Moooony.”

Sirius smiled lazily as Remus entered the dorm room, eyes twinkling.

He was dressed in a white tank top, far too tightly fitted for Remus’ sanity. His leather jacket was discarded next to him on the bed where he was sat cross legged in little faded black denim shorts.

“Help me braid my hair, would you? It’s sooo hot today, for once in like the entirety of English history. I can’t have it against my neck.”

Remus nodded and Sirius flashed him another cheeky grin. They were both well aware it was only 20°C. Well aware Sirius could braid his own hair. Well aware that whenever he was hot he actually put it up in haphazard top knots, not braids. Still Remus walked towards Sirius, sitting himself down gingerly next to him.

He gathered Sirius’ thick black hair at the nape of his neck, trying to ignore the jolt of electricity when his fingers brushed against warm ivory skin, trying to ignore the little sigh Sirius gave at the touch, trying to ignore how soft the glossy black hair was and how badly he wanted to just run his hands through it. He braided it quickly. It wasn’t very good, he knew. Remus was pretty shit at hairstyles honestly. It didn’t stop Sirius from biting his lip, gaze slipping to Remus’ lips as he thanked him. Leaning close and whispering so Remus could feel the warm breath against his face.

“Moony you’re just the best.”

As soon as he could, Remus fucking fled the room.

Daniel Webster: I will be honest, when I draw Daniel Webster, I give him the most nonhistorical hair out of everyone that I draw ( though in general, the hair of all of the peeps that I draw are very generous to their hairlines to begin with lmao ). I love giving our guy the most bushiest eyebrows in existence, super large anime eyes, a strong nose, and tanner skin than the rest of his colleagues. it's even better because doing all that is still historically accurate! #danielwebster #byronicism. Stocky build, short, you know the drill. Gold and blue and black color scheme.

Robert Hayne: Just in general, his features are fun to make out. His hair is distinctly boyish and playful ( and ginger ) whenever I draw it, and I always make sure to give him round eyes, softer, rounder, features, yellowish-based pink-toned skin, and a button nose, thereby making him the second must defined design in my head after webster ( and questionably after calhoun ). Also, technically, me drawing him in a cute childish way would also be strangely accuraet to his historical portrait, which is great, considering that I consistently make Henry Clay like 30 yrs younger whenever I draw him. Color scheme is mainly yellow to me, and he looks like your average twink, moving on.

John C. Calhoun: The wild nosferatu hair! I know we love to shit on that hairstyle, but tbh, tuberculocur satanic corpse Calhoun is actually the second most pleasing Calhoun to look at right after Early Days Young Calhoun. Calhoun with long hair, cheekbones, a square jaw, a sharp nose, and eyebrows with that additional flair on it [if you check my fanart of jcc you will notice that I never draw him without the little hook on his eyebrow ] just gives perfect demonic vibes, yk? It functions as an aweinspiring all-powerful mask to distract the viewer from his horrible pathetic weak non-influential clinging-to-whatever-scrap-of-power-and-signficance faux-manipulative personality inside [ best represented during JCC's middle years when he had spiky hair ] that represents Calhoun's true self. The issue with drawing JCC with this hairstyle all the time though is that it makes it very weird when he's alongside Webster and Clay. Webs looks like he's in his 20s, Clay's in his thirties, and Calhoun is here looking like his 70 yr old deathbed self. I actually draw him significantly more muscular than he probably was during this time of his life ngl. At least, his shoulderspan is larger. He also has a very specific clothing design I use [ black cape, gold waistcoat, white cravat and innershirt ]. Color scheme white grey gold and black.

Thomas Hart Benton: APH Russia hair. Bulky male form. I'm so sorry. I didn't base him off his offficial portrait at all. I actually get most confused about Benton's hair, btw. Is it blond? Ginger? Brown? Anyways, round face, VERY pink skin, and a strong nose are my defining features for him. Color scheme I haven't actually figured out yet, but he seems to be a gold and green fellow, just like....

Henry Clay Ah, Henry Clay. Long face, but I can't seem to find it in myself to make him actually ugly. I also can't seem to bring myself to push his hairline back. And this will be the third time I've mentioned Hetalia in this post but I whenever I draw his long blond hair verison of him ( which I always do ) I am constantly picturing APH Poland. I am sorry. Anyways, long, lanky, legs, thin lips with a wide mouth, long horizontal eyes, significant eye wrinkles in that spot, a long nose, and a green and gold color scheme for me, with a red cravat, unless it's black and gold and red.

The alpha CC texture works well with the pushed-to-the-side style, as do the color swatches. They’re a little limited, though, with only 13 custom colors to play with.

Not a lot of diversity with the shades.

It seems to favor more muted, somber, straw-colored colors. But that aside, this hairstyle is unique, distinct, and undeniably motorcycle-babe-cool.

It’s a short, slightly layered cut that ends just above chin level. And it is the definition of I-mean-business in the best possible way.

Crisp, clean edges.

Strands neatly styled in place.

And a swoopy side bang that hides just a hint of face? This hairstyle is just so modish and chic.

6. Wingssims’ Wings-OE0202

Just like the Alicia hair, Wingssims’ Wings-OE0202 CC is also quite trendy and sophisticated.

It’s cut to just around the ears and parted on the right.

The bangs and ends give the impression that the hair is quite wavy and difficult to tame, but that really only works in its favor.

I’m a big fan of the bangs that swoop in and out. I think it adds a lot of personality to the look.

It also frames the face without covering too much of it.

The color palette for this one is just like Wingssims’ other Wings hairstyle (the OE0528 one). It’s a gorgeous array of muted blondes and gently desaturated peaches and pinks.

And the fact that the ends have this soft, fluffy look to them just adds to the quiet-clouds-and-cotton-candy vibe.

Joining S-Club’s Eric hair in the Undercuts United is BLZ’s Roxanne hair (along with Margeh-75’s Unicorn Hair retexture for more fun colors).

Let’s break that down.

I first found Margeh-75’s Unicorn Hair retexture and instantly fell in love with the crazy colors.

It needs the original mesh, though. Enter BLZ’s Roxanne hair – a gorgeous alpha CC undercut with some two-tone options (specifically for the roots and bangs).

You can install just Roxanne, but I highly recommend adding the Unicorn Hair retexture for even more fun color options.

The combinations are all kinds of tri-colored crazy (sometimes even four), but they work.

This CC basically has three choices of roughly the same hair.

Biggest difference would be the color options. Next difference (though not as big) would be the texture.

Kismet’s Clouds hair CC is this fantastic, artfully messy bob that comes to just below the chin. The maxis match texture works so well with the hair’s design because it really emphasizes just how all over the place the strands are.

Some are curling in, some are sticking straight out, and others look like they were carelessly pushed into place.

It’s a distinct cut that’s equal parts innocent, trendy, and street-casual, and somehow the combination works.

Kismet’s Oceans CC is a longer, wavier version of Clouds. But it’s short enough that we can include it on this list, too.

She also revamped the Clouds hair to give it a more defined, “clayified” style.

Honestly, all three options – Oceans, Clouds, and Clouds Revamped – look amazing. Whichever you decide to download will really just fall to personal preference.

And aharrisoobritney’s Gabbie CC hair checks all boxes – and then some. This loosely curled hairstyle looks absolutely gorgeous with the maxis match texture.

The waves, the shorter pieces, and the unruly strands are all beautifully defined. And I especially love the little braid detail on the left.

It’s a small but oh-so-distinct piece of the hair that gives it so much more character.

The curls look so fresh and natural in dark colors, but I personally feel that bright colors really let the side braids pop.

There’s no other hairstyle quite like this one. Which I think works perfectly for Sims that prefer a defined, eclectic, and unapologetically personal style.

And just look how gorgeous it looks on Sims with defined cheekbones!

Insert all the synonyms for “cute” here, because that’s what this hairstyle is.

It honestly looks great with most face shapes, but I find that the curls at the end just look so much better when framing a rounder or softer face shape.

But hey; personal preference trumps all, so you do you!

14. Marsosims’ Nahi Hair

And continuing with the full-bangs, tucked-behind-one-ear theme is Nahi – still from Marsosims. This one is definitely a classic, typical bob.

It’s neat, no-nonsense, and very much a flattering hairdo for any Sim.

I personally love how it gives off that stylishly unflustered vibe. Which probably means it’ll work great for Sims with chill, laidback personalities.

15. Greenllamas Maple Hair (+ Bonus Ombre Accessory)

This hairdo is an absolute treat.

The vanilla Maple hair is a beautiful hairstyle with soft waves and a middle part.

It’s got just enough volume on the bottom to flatter a heart-shaped face or a triangle face. The top is styled just enough that it can work with both round and wide-set face shapes, too.

It comes in 18 maxis match colors which, while not as diverse as I’d like, gives you enough options to be satisfied.

But then comes the fun part. The creator includes a bonus “ombre accessory” in this download.

It basically goes on top of the vanilla Maple hair and acts as a way to recolor the ends. So what you get is a beautifully-blended and highly customizable ombre hairstyle that works so well with the softly tousled waves.

The ombre accessory also comes in 18 EA color options.

But given that you can change the base hair color without changing the ombre accessory, I’d say that there are more than enough color combination possibilities to make even the most adventurous simmer satisfied.

This creator lists the Soleil hair as one of their personal favorites. And I can definitely see why.

It’s kind of similar to Maple, only it’s a lot shorter and a lot curlier.

In fact, I would call some of the sections of the Soleil hair “crimped,” but only because there are some very obvious curls hidden amongst the waves.

Whereas Maple could make your Sim look like a modern modish art student, Soleil brings the girl-next-door vibes big-time.

It honestly made my Sim look so sweet and so approachable (which is a far cry from her usual look, believe me).

Speaking of a “girl next door” look, Greenllamas’ Lois hair CC is definitely a strong contender for the Mom Next Door crown (if there is such a thing).

The creator describes this hairstyle as hair that can make literally anyone “look like a mom.”

I have to agree. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The gentle dips, slight poof, and cute side-part can make anyone look like the sweetest, most approachable Momma Sim this side of Willow Creek.

And the cute flower clip accessory that it comes with (which you can find in Hats – don’t ask) honestly completes the look a little too well.

Speaking of “mom” hairstyles, Anto’s Thorns hair is another short haired ‘do that looks pretty mature – especially if used on Sims with longer or angular faces.

Unlike the Lois hair, however, this CC is a little less “approachable momma” and a little more “momma who nailed the work-life-self balance.”

It’s a sleek, chic, and contemporary hairstyle that looks stunning in alpha CC texture.

The color palette for this one features a lot of pale blues and some unconventional greens.

But I’m personally a fan of the brownish-red swatch.

CRASH LANDING ON YOU

Number of Episodes: 16

Genre: Romance, Drama

Rating: 10/10

I actually finished this series prior to the quarantine season but let me just include it to the list because I invested so much emotions to it, to the point it left me handicapped.

Crash Landing on You has so much on its plate! Not to mention the controversy it faced, being criticized by the liberal party for romanticizing not their own kind. I truly appreciate how this production served something new to the audience! The disclaimer being rolled before each episode is a reminder how a vast mind can offer so much - a window to let us visually access how the life is in the world's most secretive country, North Korea. Sure, there are already dramas with North Korea as a setting but the overall portrayal of CLoY makes it loved by the general public.

Apart from the reason of casting big actors as leads, how the supporting roles in CLoY are being painted give a big impact to the whole canvas, even the hostiles and the helpless. The side stories are definitely not something to be skipped. Surprisingly, my favorite character is Seo Dan's mom. She exudes peak mom level! Actually, all mother figures radiate strong personalities! Among all, I appreciate Seo Dan's character development the most! She is definitely a revolution herself. Thank you for empowering women on screen! Lastly, the backbone of the story are the best squads in the history of kdrama, the soldier squad and the mom squad ㅋㅋThey are just pure and fun to watch, even their chemistry with Seri is good~

I honestly ran out of expectations from this drama. I was afraid how it is going to end but the greatest takeaway is that, each character reached their own resolution. Probably some might disagree re: Seo Dan and Seung Jun's tragedy. But the second male lead saying: I was wrong. When I die, there’s someone who will cry for me. The fact that it’s you makes me sad and happy. I guess that resolved his own conflict. *criii*

I have so much to say, to be honest because this drama is generous enough with insights. Highly recommended~ People saying this is too overrated need to sit down and repent lol!

ITAEWON CLASS

Genre: Drama, Revenge

Rating: 9/10

First episode and it was already dark and bold. The plot caters a pool of societal issues such as class differences, abuse of power/injustices, transgender discrimination, and racism. This drama has a different aura compared to previous works of Park Seo Joon. Even the love story of the leads is not the typical lovey dovey~

The main character's determination to avenge his father's death is scalding hot throughout the episodes. It was as consistent as his hairstyle for years istg. Hard work does not betray, indeed. What struck me the most is when one character, Seung Kwon, who used to be Saeroyi jailmate, crossed paths again after years in the outer world. He narrated how everyone is given the same amount of time but the depth of time one spends is completely different compared to someone who does not set goals and persevere through time to get it.

No wonder how the rating of the show did good since the characters are effectively pulled off despite how tacky each personality is.

HI BYE, MAMA!

Genre: Drama, Fantasy

Rating: 10/10

This series stirred the general public for a fact that the one portraying Seo Woo is actually a boy. The enormous attention it absorbed was also due to its heartbreaking storyline. It is not even an exaggeration that there is no episode that would not let you cry. It will give your tear ducts so much work.

It reflects a pool of family values and love. It will make you realize even more no matter what age you have, you will still need your mom. It will make you ponder how death can rob you in an instant. Midong, a shaman in the drama, once said: A woman who lost her husband is called a widow. A man who lost his wife is called a widower. And a kid who lost his parents is called an orphan. But there’s no word for a parent who lost their kid. Know why? It’s because no word can describe it. There’s no word in this world that can describe the excruciating pain. That is too devastating, I can't digest it.

I want to commend the three main characters so much! They deserve a round of applause each. Both Seowoo's moms deserve her. Yuri and Minjung are both selfless and strong, as mothers should be. It's true that being aggressive with their respective decision against the other without feeling sorry could have been done if one is mean towards the other. This drama has no antagonist and it is frustrating that no one can take the blame. Sadly, one mom must be hurt deeply in order to save the other mom. Shoutout to all stepmoms! Not all are evil, stop labeling them as one. Seowoo's dad, Kanghwa, for me, has the hardest character. He has been walking on eggshells. All his life, his shoulders are heavy. He endured so much and embraced unnecessary guilt. His walls are too high that made his relationship with others shaky. He is afraid for people to get hurt to the point being too considerate does not help him at all, making himself his own punching bag.

Hitting the resolution of the story is a painful process but it is the kind of hurt that liberated all characters involved. To be able to point out what went wrong and ungrasping it--- Yuri boldy telling his used-to-be husband "I am not yours anymore. You can let me go now." opened the door to silence the conflicts. Acceptance.

Literally, I cried how the epilogue gave a glimpse of the couple's life if Yuri was able to escape his death note. It only takes a second to change a life-changing event. But reaching the final episode was the real deal for my tear ducts ㅠ I seriously cried 90 minutes straight! I am so satisfied how it is wrapped up. No better ending no matter heartbreaking it is!

HE IS PSYCHOMETRIC

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Fantasy, Thriller

Rating: 9/10

Why did I just watch it noW? ㅠ Wow, this is a masterpiece! The plot twist is insane! I love how the truth was unfold throughout the story. It was helluva stressful hahaha. Dark enough. Since I was hungry for an answer, I finished this one almost straight 16 hours!!! If you have watched While You Were Sleeping, which was about someone who can dream about the future, this series is a counterpart. The main lead can see the past by touching a person or object. This unique ability helped him solve cases, especially the event the greatly involved him in the past.

I commend Jinyoung for crying that much! Crazy he has lots of frame that in need of crying ㅋㅋㅋ Rise the flag of actor-idol! He is a natural, to be honest. His character, Ahn's funny antics always got me~ The female lead, Ye Eun has an uncanning resemblance of Yerim, hahaha it awed me while watching~

I am satisfied how it ended. Although I would to see more of their love story but in totality it is a must-watch definitely!

WHEN THE CAMELLIA BLOOMS

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Thriller

Rating: 9/10

I love how this is filtered ♡ Very aesthetic that I want to live in Ongsan too! Life for the female lead is too complex. The plot revolves around straightening the strands of conflicts of her life. Dealing with her son who does not want her to have a boyfriend, who is short-tempered and acts maturely to protect her mom; dealing with her boyfriend who loves her unconditionally, who always believes in her and brings out the best of her; dealing with her ex husband, who wants to stand as a father to his child and fill in those years he missed to take care of him; dealing with her neighbors, who speak ill and put her in a bad light at first; dealing with her mother who made her an orphan and came back to her sick; dealing with her secret killer...

This runs for 20 hours and I could not remember the last drama I've watched this long but I savored it without any hint boredom. It ended but I still want mooore. I love how every character is given ample amount of screen time in the last episode. Everyone ended up happily. The went through so much, a happy ending is deserved by all. I was moved. I learned so much about life which is too complex to be completely understood.

Props to Haneul! His loud and vibrant acting is commendable!!! And the post-credit is so heartwarming ㅠㅠ I had a fair share of tears for this drama ㅠㅠ

BECAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST LIFE

I had two attempts to successfully finish this series and what a shame it took me this long? This series also moved me so much. It talks about views and opinion about living independently and marriage. Throughout, I was also questioning my decisions in life and effectively made me reflect.

Ji Ho who is 30, who is jobless, who is homeless. and Se Hee holds the answer to her problems. Se Hee who only loves his cat, who only values his house. Apart from having the same interest in beer and soccer, they mutually signed a contract that both benefitted them. Weird. How can you marry someone without involving emotions?

I also love the opposite personalities of the female lead's friends. Soo Ji who does not believe in marriage and described it as a tomb of a relationship. She is strong and independent. She does not take any guy seriously until Sang Goo happened. Ho Rang who dreams of being a housewife and a mother. She desperately wanted to marry his long-term partner because she is already hitting three decades. Sadly, his partner, Wonseok, expressed how he is not that ready yet and still starting to get a stable job.

I love how this drama ended! Heartwarming~

The day was painted gray. For many people, they hoped the day would end soon.

But for her, the day just starting.

She thought about it while picking up her dark brown hair and making a bun with this one. She had to be completely prepared.

She looked her nails, making sure were free of polish and short. It wasn't like her nails always going to wear nail polish, she just wanted to make sure.

The truth is she was very anxious, and of the same anxiety, she had eaten her nails. It had to be a perfect day for her.

She looked in the mirror, feared that her makeup would be outrageous, fortunately for her it was actually subtle. She did not use many products on her face, however, she considered it perfect for the occasion. Of course, it was a pretty flattered job, one of the best in decades. However, the teachers in charge of graduating the psychiatrist, knowing that, despite the woman's attitude, they could see she was someone very beautiful, and they did not want to miss the opportunity.

She, remembering fears of the past, rejected to be alone with any of those teachers who had made sexual insinuations to her, and even she exhibited them. They, in revenge, decided to take away her right to choose their Internship place and send it to the worst place where she could do it:

In the Arkham Asylum

She felt like a kick in her stomach when the rest of her classmates escaped to better places in the country. But she had no choice but to prepare and fulfill what the destiny told her to do.

Once ready, with her hand bag, her rounded glasses over her nose and her doctor’s coat under her arm, the young woman walked once more to her mirror.

“... It's your first day... It's your first day Harleen... Don't screw it up... Don't do it”

She left her room, ready for everything.

“Mom, I’m leaving”

Harleen looked that her mother ignored her, while she sat watching the news on TV. Without saying anything else, she left her apartment.

Not much happened when on the subway, Harleen delve into her thoughts and occasionally looked at people. She read from afar the newspaper headline of an older man who was focused on his reading.

"The Dark Knight stops a bank robbery"

Harleen knew who they referred to in the city as The Dark Knight, some are agreed with him and defended him, others hated him and wanted him to be arrested as soon as possible.

Harleen didn't care if that vigilante was doing the right thing or not, what surprised her was that someone outside the authorities did their job.

Leaving aside that subject in her mind she concentrated again on her thoughts.

Despite being at Arkham, she was enthusiastic.

When she was a teenager, she had always been fascinated by psychiatry: The study of mental illness.

What she could wait from that day?

“Hey little lady, give me your wallet”

“Eh?”

Oh yes, the bad luck lady always accompanied her everywhere.

Harleen's blue eyes rose, a guy with bad loos was pointing her with a knife. Her eyes became small when she noticed the assaulter's intentions.

She looked everywhere, waiting for help. People acted like what was going on in front of her was a passing vision. Something that wasn't really going on.

In a fearful and shy voice, she spoke to the criminal.

“No... Please... It’s, it’s my first day in…”

“Give me the fucking wallet if you don't want to die!”

Scared, she pulled her wallet out of her bag and took out the money, handed it over to the assailant.

20 bucks.

“That’s all, bitch?”

“It's, it's all I've got, I don't have more...”

Frightened, she hoped it would be enough for the robber, but she just felt something damp on her cheek, it was a spit, he spit on her.

“Fucking poor”

When the thief leaves, she looked everywhere again, the subway wasn't so full, but if there were enough people to get up to defend her, it was just a knife.

But she at once thought that not everyone would give her life for a stranger.

Disappointed that her day will not start as she wanted, she looked out the subway window as she wiped herself with a tissue she pulled out of her bag.

A tear ran down the cheek cleaned, dried that drop quickly. She didn't want to ruin her makeup.

When she finished to clean her face, she breathed.

She was hoping it wasn't a bad day.

She was expecting that with all the hopes she had left.

Headcanon: “Sasuke Uchiha Jealous? No way.”

A/N: Wherein dinner between friends end up with a game of Truth or Dare, aided by a bottle of Sake.

—

Sakura let out a sigh of relief as she finally reached her office. Three surgeries within the day, plus hospital rounds! She was beat.

She reported for hospital duty at 5 AM and now, if the sky were any indication, she guessed it would be sundown soon.

As she closed her door, she realized there was someone in her office. She recognized him right away.

“Anata,” she said softly. Just seeing him made her feel a whole lot better. Sasuke stood up to greet her, it took no more than three strides for him to get to her.

Almost instinctually, Sakura wrapped her arms around his torso. With his one hand, Sasuke returns his wife’s embrace, pulling her close to his chest.

“When did you arrive? It’s a shame, you just missed Sarada, she was assigned on a mission.”

“Ah. I heard. I’ll still be here when she gets back,” Sasuke said, leading his wife to the couch she had in her office.

He had noticed how depleted of energy she was the moment she entered the office. He knew his wife would just give him an earful if he told her to stop working too hard, so he did the next best thing: subtly get her to rest.

“Oh? How long can you stay?” Sakura asked. She was leaning on his shoulder as she drew circles on the palm of his hand.

“4 days. 5 at most,” he said. He leaned his head on hers. She smelled like strawberries and isopropyl alcohol, a smell Sasuke has come to love because well, it was Sakura.

They sat there in silence, just being with each other was enough. They felt at ease, content.

“Sakura, the dobe told me something about a dinner tonight,” Sasuke said. His wife was about to drift into sleep but he didn’t want her to skip her meals, tired as she was.

Sakura’s eyes suddenly popped open and she jumped in panic. “WAIT— isn’t the dinner on the 13th?”

“It is the 13th today,” Sasuke said, his eyebrows furrowed.

“No, that can’t be? I’m certain today still has to be the 12th,” Sakura goes over to her table, which was cluttered with paperwork.

She still had to tackle a tower’s worth. She grabbed the file, the most recent, on top and read the date on it.

13th.

“Shannaro...!” Sakura exclaimed weakly. She thought it was an extra long day at the hospital, turns out she’d been here for two days.

Sakura plopped back onto the couch, not even bothering to prop herself up properly. She felt disoriented.

“Sakura, don’t tell me you’ve been here for days and didn’t even know it,” Sasuke said in an icy voice.

Sakura gulped and scratched her head sheepishly. “Want me to make you your favorite tomato soup later?” Sakura said with a grin, attempting to deflect her husband’s reprimanding glare.

Sasuke shook his head at his wife’s attempt. “You’re annoying,” he said, but a small smile escapes.

Sakura couldn’t help but giggle. “Shall we, Anata?” Sakura said, standing up and holding her hand out.

Sasuke takes her hand. “Ah.”

“No.” Sasuke was watching his wife make bad decisions.

Sakura groaned in annoyance. She and Sasuke stopped over at the supermarket to buy something for the dinner, which was going to be at Sai and Ino’s home.

Sakura thought it would be a good idea to bring sake.

“Aw, c’mon, Anata. I bet the rest already bought meat and whatever else for the potluck. We’ll need drinks.”

“Last time there was Sake, you and Naruto took turns puking on me,” Sasuke said with no fondness of the memory.

“That Baka Naruto thought he could beat me in a drinking contest! I had to fight for my honor, Anata!” Sakura said, but slightly blushing because she didn’t realize Sasuke remembered — but of course he did.

Naruto thought it would be a good idea to have a Team 7 reunion. It ended up with Kakashi bailing when Naruto was puking into a water fountain and Sakura passed out on the ground, on the small crater she accidentally made when she tried to save herself mid-fall. Sasuke was left to babysit the usuratonkachi and his darling, drunk wife — who told him “I can hold a drink, I’m not weak!”

“No.” Sasuke said with finality. Sakura pouted but Sasuke didn’t let her have her way. When her back was turned, Sasuke let out a little smile.

They ended up buying meat.

Sasuke and Sakura got to their home around 6:40 PM, the dinner was not for another 50 minutes or so; they still had time to bathe and get changed. Sakura showered first.

Sasuke thought his wife would be ready by the time he got out of the shower but when he does, he’s greeted by the sight of his wife, sitting on the foot of their bed, snoring.

She was clutching onto two dresses, still on their hangers: the first was white with cherry print, and the second a plain navy blue.

Sasuke couldn’t help but snort. His wife always insisted that “I don’t snore, Sasuke-kun. Shut up!” Sasuke used to have a hard time sleeping because of her snoring but now he’s quite fond of it, it made him feel easy, it was a way to know she was there. He still teased her for it though.

“Sakura,” Sasuke gently prodded, poking her forehead. Sakura opened her eyes slowly and immediately turned red in the face.

“Why are you so close!” She jumped back in shock. Sasuke’s face was only an inch away from hers. She knew it was so stupid for her to shy away from her husband but she still very much had a crush on him.

Sasuke rolled his eyes, quite amused. He gently pats her head and says, “navy blue,” as he walks out of their bedroom.

“Shannaro! You’re so annoying!” Sakura throws her shower slipper at his retreating back. Sasuke smiles to himself. Sakura was so fun to tease.

Sakura was left in their room, her face heating up to what seemed to be a thousand degrees.

Sakura walks out their bedroom and Sasuke’s eyes are immediately drawn to her. The dress fell gracefully on her curves, the dress stopping just a little above her knees. She was also wearing the necklace Sasuke got her; a dainty little thing, an Uchiha fan pendant.

His wife looked gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Sasuke looked away, feeling a little embarrassed that he was staring a little too intently.

Sakura couldn’t help contain her smile. Her husband looked so handsome in his black button down. He could make such simple clothing look magnificent. She went over to him and gently combed her fingers through his hair to fix it. It was sticking out a little, reminding her of his porcupine hairstyle back in the day. Her heart swelled with nostalgia.

“Ready now?” She asked. “I wasn’t the one snoring,” Sasuke said with a smirk. Sakura’s smile turned into a pokerface. She knew it wasn’t something Sasuke would lie about be she swears, she doesn’t snore!

While Sakura went over the checklist in her head, Sasuke was already by their doorway, wearing his footwear.

“All appliances turned off, stove is turned off, all faucets closed properly, the meat, house keys, wait where are the house keys?” She thought out loud.

She went back into the bedroom and found them on their dresser. This is when Sasuke noticed something about her dress. His eyes widened a fraction. He didn’t realize the dress had been backless.

“Got them!” Sakura exclaimed, ready to go. “What about your coat?” Sasuke asked. He felt himself grow a little overprotective and this annoyed him. But outwardly, he looked like his normal expressionless face.

“It’s a short travel. It’s fine,” Sakura said, not noticing what Sasuke actually meant.

“Ah,” was all Sasuke could say. It was logical, he pushed his overbearing thoughts aside. He did choose the dress after all.

The walk to Ino and Sai’s, even if it was only 20 minutes away, felt long to Sasuke. They had taken a shortcut, through the town square. So naturally, there were lots of people.

A lot of them recognized the pair, Sakura would greet them back and Sasuke would just nod in recognition. Sakura noticed the slight shift in her husband’s mood — she guessed it was because he wasn’t a fan of crowded place. She didn’t think much of it.

Sasuke noticed men were gawking at his wife. Sakura, enveloped in conversation, didn’t notice this.

Sasuke didn’t know if these men were openly doing it or they were just doing a poor job at hiding it.

Suffice to say, this put Sasuke in an off-putting mood. Sasuke moved from walking beside his wife to walking in front of her. Without realizing it, Sasuke had begun glaring at the men, who immediately avertered their sights in fear of the Uchiha patriarch.

Sakura noticed that Sasuke was walking ahead of her now. He always did walk too damn fast for her, much to her annoyance. He was 6 foot 2 and she was a mere 5 foot 4. Sakura took this as Sasuke getting impatient with their pace.

“Anata,” she whined in a small voice, he caught this. One look at her and Sasuke knew. She’s always complained about him walking too fast, “little legs here!” It was one of their squabbles back when they were traveling together.

Sasuke wordlessly went back to his place, by her side. What was the point of backless clothing anyway? It serves no purpose. Stupid, he complained in his head.

“Sakura-chan! Sasuke!” Naruto drawled as he watched his two best friends enter the house.

Naruto went in to hug them but only Sakura returned it, Sasuke stepped out of the hug in his lightning speed fashion. Sakura couldn’t help but laugh.

“Hi, Hinata! How’s Hima?” Hinata had brought Himawari to Sakura a few days ago because she had a fever.

Sasuke took the available seat which was next to Naruto, who already began to talk his ear off. Sasuke sighed.

“She’s doing better now. I think Naruto and Boruto annoyed her into feeling better!” Hinata chuckles.

“Forehead! I haven’t seen you in forever. I thought you wouldn’t ever leave your hospital cave!” Ino went in for a hug, with Sai tailing behind her.

“Wow, you don’t look ugly today, ugly,” Sai says, this earns him a punch from Sakura.

Sasuke used to be displeased whenever Sai called Sakura ugly. But he’s come to realize it was just banter between two friends now. If he didn’t know about Sakura and Sai’s friendship dynamic, Sasuke would have been livid over anyone disrespecting his wife.

“Sasuke-kun! When did you get back?” Ino asked in excitement. It was always a treat to have Sasuke over at one of their gatherings since it was quite rare.

“Hey, what about me!” Naruto complained, pointing at himself. Ino waved him off.

“Nevermind you, I’m so sick of your face!” Everyone, except Sasuke who just gave an amused smirk, at the table bursts into laughter. Because he was Hokage, Naruto’s face was everywhere.

Temari and Shikamaru enter the home.

“Sorry, we’re late. Some people are such a drag,” Temari says sarcastically. Giving her husband a dirty look.

Shikamaru smiles sheepishly. He got carried away with a game of Shogi with Shikadai. Mendokusē, he thinks. “Hi, everyone,” he greets.

(They began catching up and chattering about. This is when Kiba arrives with Shino.)

“We got the goods!” Kiba yells, raising up a case-full of bottles of sake.

“I tried my best to stop this. My apologies,” Shino says.

Naruto, Sakura, Temari, and Ino clap animatedly. The rest, not that excited for what was to come.

They still had a bit of food left, which no one was surprised of. Choji couldn’t come so they were bound to have extra food.

“I apologize, I have to head out first. I have an early class to teach tomorrow,” Shino said.

“Stay for a little while, Shino! We rarely get together like this,” Naruto said, but also aware he had a ton of work to do at the Hokage’s office.

Shikamaru chuckles because he’s just read Naruto’s mind. There was more paper in Naruto’s office than actual furniture. The adult life was really something.

“Honestly, when it’s past 9, I already get sleepy,” Shino shyly admitted.

“Oh boy, we’re getting old,” Temari says, amused. She could relate.

“Not me! I’m still so youthful!” Naruto exclaimed, still the only one chowing down on the food. Hinata stared at him adoringly, Sasuke and Sakura shook their head. He was still such a messy eater.

“Can’t believe this idiot is the Hokage,” Sakura and Sasuke thought in unison, they look at each other as if to see if they were thinking the same, and one look from each other and they knew. Sakura giggles and Sasuke hides his smile as he drinks water from his cup. Ino notices this exchange.

“You guys are so cute!” Ino expresses in glee. Sakura blushes and Sasuke pretends not to hear.

“Don’t leave, Shino! I’ll be outnumbered by the couples!”

Shino looked at Kiba blankly. “You already are. They came in pairs, you are single. Akamaru doesn’t count.”

“Hey!”

“That’s because you don’t get sleep, Naruto,” Shikamaru chimes in.

“That’s because I don’t need it. Sleep is for the weak ‘ttebayo!” Naruto shouts with pride. He flings his chopsticks in the air as he does this, this causes grains of rice to fly.

“Naruto-kun!” Hinata scolds, Naruto realizes the mess he’s made and sheepishly apologizes. “Sorry, dear! Hehe.”

“Why are you apologizing to her? I’m the one who’s gonna have to clean up,” Sai deadpanned. This earns a collective laughter.

“You’ve trained him well, Ino!” Temari howled in laughter.

“Hey, I help around the house, too,” Shikamaru piped in. Temari rolled her eyes at her husband playfully.

“What can I say? He’s helpful and cute,” Ino said, patting Sai on the cheek affectionately. This makes Sai smile.

The rest of them made puking noises. “Should we leave?” Kiba asked jokingly.

“Let’s play a game!” Kiba says, hauling the case of sake onto the table.

The lot of them beamed in excitement, except Hinata, Sasuke, and Shikamaru.

Temari rolls her sleeves up her elbows and Shikamaru visibly gulps. “Mendokusē. I already foresee the disaster,” Shikamaru said, scratching his head. Sasuke and Hinata shared Shikamaru’s sentiments. They didn’t need their kekkei genkai to see this was indeed going to be disastrous.

“Let’s get this party started dattebayo!” Naruto claps excitedly. He produced shadow clones to help set the dishes aside.

“If you puke on the floors, I will personally use you as a mop to clean it up,” Sai told Naruto with a smile. Ino bursts into laughter, she knew well enough that Sai was serious — they just had their floors done and Sai was borderline obsessed with keeping them spotless.

“Me? Puke? As if. I can take my drink, unlike some people,” Naruto said the last bit in a whisper.

“Excuse me, what was that?” Sakura piped in, feeling her competitive side pique.

“Don’t provoke her, idiot,” Sasuke said. He still remembered the shock he felt when he found out Sakura accidentally reduced their home into rubble.

“You’re so biased, Sasuke!” Naruto exclaimed, childishly.

“It’s just facts, Naruto-kun. I can take a drink better than you,” Sakura said with a confident smile.

“It’s true. Women can take alcohol better,” Ino piped in and the rest of the kunoichi agreed.

“Ohoy! Is that a challenge?” Naruto exclaimed. “That’s just not concrete fact,” Shikamaru added.

“So I suppose we have to see. You ladies vs us men?” Sai said

“Let’s go!” Naruto cheered.

“This’ll be easy,” Sakura said, cracking her knuckles. She went over to the other side of the table, along with Hinata. They switched places with Shikamaru and Sai.

Naruto noticed Sasuke didn’t show any indication that he was up for the game — which by all honesty, wasn’t out of character.

“Hey, Sasuke. C’mon!” Sasuke looked at him and shrugged, “my wife’s not weak.”

Sure, Sakura could get into such a drunken state but Sasuke knew she was much tolerant to alcohol than Naruto.

Sasuke’s comment earned hollers from the men and gushing from the women, Sakura looked down at the table, blushing at her husband’s compliment.

“So whipped -ttebayo!”

(28 bottles of sake later...)

Only Sasuke, Shikamaru, and Hinata were sober. Sakura was walking the fine line of being drunk & being tipsy. The rest were outright drunk.

Naruto found his way over to Hinata, plopping himself beside her. He then began poking her cheek. “Hinata-chaaaan,” he drawled.

“What?” She asked her clearly drunk husband. “Hi!” At first Hinata found it cute, but at the 11th time he did it, she smacked him off the bench they were sitting on.

Shino and Kiba somehow thought it would be a good idea to play Tag. They ran to the Yamanakas’ backyard with loud chuckles. The both of them couldn’t agree on who would be ‘it’. In the end, they decided they’d let there shadows chase them. It made no sense but in a drunken thinkinf, it was the best idea ever.

Sai decided to play some music on “Karaoke!” He yelled, he was now standing on top of the table. Sai, Ino, and Temari began singing their lungs out and swaying to the music.

“You sound so good!” Temari told Ino, who then replied, “You do, too!” the kunoichis then high fived.

But in reality: Temari was out of tune and Ino was out of sync. Sai, dancing on the table didn’t match the song’s rhythm one bit.

Sakura was the only one who was still drinking. She chugged two whole bottles all by herself and then some. She was currently finishing up the 29th bottle they had.

“Shannaro! How can you guys be such weakshits!” She giggled, raising the bottle in the air like it was a trophy. Sasuke decided it was nearly her drinking limit — if her pink cheeks were any indication.

Swiftly and quietly as he could, he took the last bottle of sake and hid it. At this point, he’s moved seats and is now sitting next to his wife.

He was holding her head up because it would lull back and forth, ever so slightly, every now and then. Her exhaustion plus alcohol intake taking its toll.

“A-anata. Where’s the last bottle? I’m going to win this!” Sakura hiccuped, now resting her head on her husband’s shoulder.

“It’s gone,” Sasuke said, he technically wasn’t lying. Sasuke was a little relieved that Sakura still had some of bearings, she was still aware of her surroundings.

“Oy! You kids come back here,” Shikamaru yelled at Shino and Kiba. Who to his surprise, listened, he guessed following orders was basically a reflex action for ninjas.

The rest of the drunk people followed suit. When Kiba reached the table, he eyed the bottle that was in Sakura’s hand, thinking it still had some contents in it.

“Awww,” Kiba whined when he realized Sakura had emptied it.

Sakura sees Kiba’s sad expression. “Don’f be sad!” She stands up, and gets dizzy by the suddeness. Both Sasuke and Kiba hold her to keep her from falling. Sasuke gets a tad annoyed. He can take care of his own wife.

“Don’t be sad! C’mon let’s dance!” Sakura told Kiba. Sakura was naturally compassionate person and it heightened whenever she had alcohol in her. She could see a dog in the rain and she’d cry for a straight hour.

Sakura takes hold of Kiba’s hand and they join Sai. Kiba forgets about the sake and gets lost in the frenzy of the music.

Sasuke notices all of this, his annoyance growing. He watched as Kiba and Sai put their arms around Sakura as the three of them jumped in glee to the music.

He was pleased that Sakura was enjoying himself but Kiba and Sai could enjoy themselves, at least a feet away from Sakura, too, he thought to himself.

“You lot settle down, come back to the table,” Hinata said gently, the three of them obediently followed.

When Sakura came back to sit next to him, he tugs at her hand from under the table, inconspicuosly pulling her closer to him.

“Truth or dare! We have empty bottles to spin now!” Kiba exclaimed, taking one from the pile that’s accumulated from the floor.

“Yes, twenty-nine to be exact,” Shino said, counting the bottles, swaying at his step.

“Sasuke-kun! See? Missing one!” Sakura whined.

“Shh, that’s enough,” Sasuke whispered in her ear. Sakura pouted and rested her head back on her husband’s shoulder.

Kiba spun the bottle and it landed on Temari.

“Okay, Truth or da-“

“Dare!” Temari slams the table and stands up as she yells this.

“I dare you to tell us the most embarrassing memory you have with Shikamaru!” Kiba chuckles

“Oy!” Shikamaru complained, his wife was incredibly blunt when intoxicated. He tugs at her sleeve to get her to sit back down. She ends up sitting on his lap, she was too drunk to feel embarrassed about it.

“This idiot brought me to a hotel for what I thought was our first date! I thought he was some kinda pimp! Turns out he was asking me to help choose a gift for your wedding!” Temari says with a laugh, pointing at Naruto and Hinata.

Naruto was half passed out cold, resting his head on Hinata’s shoulder, his mouth wide open, drooling. Hinata laughs, mainly because Shikamaru has turned three shades of red.

“Mendokusē,” he groans. “Pimp!” Temari teases him.

Temari spins the bottle with such force that it teeters off the table. Shino retrieves another bottle. “Good thing we have a lot of spare.”

This time the bottle lands on Sakura. “Dare!” She says with energy but her heavy eyes say otherwise

“Was there a time you got horribly jealous?” Ino asked, her arm around Sai, who was still animatedly dancing in his seat.

Sakura chuckles and hides her face in Sasuke’s shoulder.

He smells so nice, Sakura thought. Sasuke didn’t show it but he wanted to hear her answer.

“Well, when we were traveling, there was this inn keeper who openly flirted with Sasuke,” Sakura said, wearing a bitter smile on her lips.

Sasuke didn’t recall any inn keeper. He looks down at his wife with raised eyebrows.

“She asked you out for dinner while I was right beside you, Sasuke-kun!” Sakura exclaimed.

“You can be so dense sometimes, Anata. Good thing you’re so cute,” Sakura giggles, pinching Sasuke’s cheeks.

“Woah!” The group was so shocked at the scene before them.

Sasuke Uchiha, one of the deadliest ninjas in the world was just called... cute and had his cheeks pinched... and he let it happen.

Even Naruto sobered up a little due to shock.

Sasuke was paralyzed, his face heating up. To make matters worse, Sakura gives him a smack right on the lips.

“Cutie Sasuke-kuuuuun!” Drunk Sakura drawled. Very unaware of the fact that her husband’s turned into the very shade of a tomato.

“I really am drunk, did that actually happen dattebayo?” Naruto asked, looking around if anything he was seeing was actually real.

Luckily for Sasuke, Kiba pukes at that moment — diverting the attention.

“NO!” Sai leaps to his feet.

From there, the dinner took an official close. “Don’t worry, they’re all too drunk to remember this,” Shikamaru told Sasuke who was looking at his smiling albeit drunk wife with a facepalm.

Hinata made a zipping motion across her lips, indicating, what happened would be kept secret. Sasuke nodded in thanks.

“What about you, Sasuke-kun? Do you ever get jealous?” Ino asks, face on the table, clearly dizzy.

Before Sasuke could formulate an answer, Sakura beats him to it. “Sasuke Uchiha jealous? No way!”

Sasuke scoffs.
