🌻 - If you could change a single thing about Hetalia as a whole, what would you change? This can be as drastic or as insignificant of a change as you'd like!

There's a lot of things that could change about the show, but I think the one most feasible for me to explain would be the length of episodes. The show's episodes are easy to binge since they're so short, but it leaves me wanting more. I never feel satisfied watching an episode. I know it's impossible to get the right nuance needed in the show's writing, but I think having the actual time to expand upon some things may be of benefit. Though, there are some episodes that actually benefit from the short format, the Davie episode being the prime example. The Halloween special in World Twinkle was longer than normal and that was so much fun!

😡 - Biggest fandom pet peeve?

Of course there are things that bother me. I hate vagueposting and there are blatantly obvious issues within the fandom in addition to some minor ones. I don't want my blog to become a space where I go on angry rants often and I also don't think it's my place to yell about things I may not have the full picture of, so I won't rant about the fandom rather than explain my general stance on navigating fan spaces:

Your experience in a fandom is cultivated by you. There will always be people who like things you can't stand. You cannot police what other people do. I think the best course of action is to generally just move on. I don't really block people without reason because if I see something I don't like, I just scroll away. If it bothers me, I'll block the tags. There's obviously flaws to this, but I'm someone who just doesn't have the energy to argue so I tend to keep to myself. This really just pertains to certain ships

I do think that there are things that should be called out. Bigotry has no place in any fandom. I've never blocked anyone faster than the person who followed me with an SS uniform hat in their header

I also think that if you make a mistake, apologize and move on. None of us are perfect. There's no need to immediately reply to someone who points out that something you've done may have been harmful when you're still heated. Take the time to reflect then respond. When this happens, it's not an attack on you personally. I've made mistakes before and what I did was apologize and read up on/ask for resources on what I didn't know about

All in all, I came back to the Hetalia fandom because I needed something to keep me busy now that I'm living hundred of miles away from the life I had been building for the last several years. I had my reservations, but I stayed because the fanbase is a great way to be introduced to people, places, and cultures you might not have run into otherwise. I'm constantly learning there are more to subjects I thought I knew about or am learning things I simply wasn't exposed to. I don't personally write nationverse because I don't think I can pull it off as well as others and prefer to just absorb the content instead. Maybe I'll take a crack at it some day, but that's not right now

🗿 - Do you have a single favorite headcanon (either from yourself or someone else)?

I like the idea that Nyo and 1P characters can coexist. The same goes for 2P

I don't know where I stand on the nations having a universal language vs having to learn other languages in order to communicate. Having that language barrier would be interesting. Seeing the way linguistics evolves is really interesting, but I don't know enough about it to say more than that

I like the idea that in nationverse, the characters can die. They'll come back, but they can die. You know Francis was guillotined at least once

I also like the idea that Alice or Amelia may have been tried as witches? When I was developing my Nyo England muse (she's on pause because I have a lot of reading to do for her and I haven't been able to sit down and focus), I had thought considering both Arthur and Alice are associated with magic it would be interesting to see the different ways this affected them. I have a little ramble here about Nyo England

Ludwig has like. Three dogs canonically. I like to think they're his coping mechanism

I don't know where in canon other than the stupid wiki that it says Francis is afraid of computers, but I like to take this and make him completely technologically inexperienced. I like writing him as a guy in his mid twenties who has the most old man ass phone case ever. He knows how to do basic things on a computer, but if any errors happen he's calling Mattie and Alfred for help

Hey sweets, fellow Yandere hetalia writer here ( I also write for other fandoms too ). This is my own headcanon of a Yandere America, the 1p one and the 1p Nyo one too. I feel like the both of them has a southern accent, especially the male counterpart. I also headcanon them as the ones that will move their darling deep in the south in a big open secluded area where not a single soul lives for miles. So the darling won't be able to escape very easily. Even if they do, they won't be able to get help since the closes locals that lives near won't really believe them. They see Alfred and Amelia as some really good people who wouldn't hurt no one, plus they told them the darling has a tendency to be delusional and they're schizophrenic; so chances are they won't be in the best state of mind when the darling comes to them telling them these "lies". Alfred and Amelia also told the locals, if the darling comes to them and said something similar to what I said above; call them because the darling forgot " To take their medication ". But in reality when the first chance they get back to their darling, they'll punish them. So yeah Alfred and Amelia are manipulative like that, I'm a firm believer that their "Hero" and "Heroine" is a facade and a mask to hide their more calculated and sinister side. ( Also this goes for both separate and Poly. But if the darling was in a Poly-relationship with the BOTH of 1p Americas..... I pray for them )

I completely agree with your headcanons. It makes perfect sense for them to have Southern accents, especially if they were raised in that culture. I can totally see them embracing the whole cowboy and cowgirl lifestyle. I imagine they'd love the iconic elements like rodeos, country music, and wide-open spaces. As for Amelia, I picture her with a Valley accent, capturing that laid-back, California vibe. (I'm not American, so I hope I'm conveying this accurately!)

I also imagine that they'd usually speak with a standard American accent in front of other nations. But when they get emotional or angry, their Southern accents slip out. It's kind of charming and humorous, actually. They're not ashamed of it at all; it's just that their accents can be a bit hard to understand sometimes, especially for non-native English speakers.

They definitely call their lover a variety of nicknames, especially if you fit the damsel stereotype. You'd hear them say things like "sweetheart," "peach," "pumpkin," "honey," "sugar," "cutie pie," "baby doll," and even "darling," much like old Southern ladies. They'd only use your real name when they're really pissed off.

"Well honey, ah would be damned if anybody's escapin' from here no matter how much ya try, not on mah watch," Alfred drawled, tightening the chain around your ankle as he sighed and glared at your defiance. His female counterpart approached from behind with a washing rag, gently cleaning the dirt off you. "Oh sweetheart, what in the darn tarnation have ya done to ya self!"(XD )

No matter the nationality, they are going to treat you as their "American sweetheart." They definitely own a huge plot of land in the countryside, complete with a mansion, picket fence, and all that "American Dream" stuff. And that mansion definitely has top-tier security due to Amelia's paranoia.

Basically they planned the whole scenario and you are throughly fucked in the countryside where the community is tightly knit and love these two American psychopaths in the middle of fucking nowhere.

I like thinking most of the few people around you, would be a closely knit society or a yandere cult themselves or mostly veterans who are very close with the nations or some other agents or so on. But they would definitely notify the nations if you do escape. And would probably think you aren’t quite right in the head.

Also depending on the darling, if they are very rebellious then they will be kept in an old fashioned house until they start to behave. If they are rather timid then the house would be modern and they would have certain privileges.

“Oh mah, sweet peaches!”, Amelia exclaimed as she hugged you close to her chest, suffocating you as Alfred chatted up some made up illnesses with the closest neighbors you could find, the woman’s harsh hold on you a reminder of what was to come once you got home.

Btw if you did make them angry, you surely are in for it, one of them is a nightmare alone but the both of them? you are done for.

Basically Amelia’s bat will come in handy although I feel as if she’s more emotionally abusive, making you feel like shit while Alfred is more physical and sexual as well. Amelia will probably cuddle with you afterwards the ‘lesson’, the other tending to your wounds and giving a lecture.

Also they will definitely deploy some security team or some agents to patrol around the area, time to time if they are really paranoid (prob Amelia) and put a tracker on you 🥰. And if that wasn’t enough there are security cameras watching over you.

Their hero mask is definitely a facade which goes away when you act out of the line, they might prefer being the villains if you don’t appreciate their ‘heroic acts’. They have a way to twist people with words and also their fists if it is necessary to do so.

These both can be pretty intense, sadistic and unstable so yeehaa you are screwed, not to mention they are pretty experimental and kinky af too, while also being a superpower who have powerful influences all around the western world.

Any headcanons for nyo!France? Or what do you think about her?

I don't love her nearly as much as I love 1p France, but even saying that is a disservice because I like her a lot. In terms of my favorite nyotalia visual designs, she's one of my favorites right up there with nyo!Austria and nyo!Prussia.

If I had a nickel for every time I liked a character who's a French woman named Marianne, I would have two nickels. It's not a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice! (Context: an OC I have from ~2015's name is Marian, but she wasn't influenced by Hetalia in the slightest).

I want to draw nyo!France so. BAD. SO BAD. You don't even want to know. If there's one thing I can actually draw well, it's pretty women. so. watch out.

ANYWAY THAT'S ENOUGH OF ME VERBALLY OOGLING HER ON MAIN

I think Marianne is very similar to Francis (I think while there's some differences between nyo! and 1p, they're usually pretty similar in characterization). Marianne can be just as dramatic, petty, and self centered as Francis. Both of them deserve to Go Off The Rails and be a little silly stupid on main.

I think the one difference between her and Francis I can actually think of is I can't see Marianne being as involved with the culinary arts. She likes fine food, yes, but I can't see her having as much of an interest in it. She can cook just fine, but it's not the talent she's most proud of.

I also see her as an artist. She paints and while I see Francis' style more similarly to Art Nouveau and Art Deco (cough, there's bias there), I see Marianne's style being more impressionistic, rococo, or baroque.

I can also see her being more elitist and less nurturing than Francis is? In a relationship I see Francis needing a lot of attention but reciprocating said attention in meaningful ways, while Marianne is much more of a receiver than a giver.

Though with all of that being said, I enjoy both nyo and 1P France a lot, for better or for worse. I genuinely couldn't tell you why, but here I am.

They're two sides of the same coin to me -- of any of the main cast, Francis is the one most in line with his nyotalia counterpart to me, but I also like the idea that Francis says "fuck you" to gender when it conveniences him
