Late 1940s lookbook for Gloria Ofelia Morales, the prospective heiress of the next generation, for her teenage years. A girl with a flair for the elegant, Gloria likes the fuller skirts that characterize the shift from postwar fashion approaching the economic boom of the 50s. As a toddler, Gloria dealt with wartime rationing and the loss of her father, Héctor, and has been raised by her mother, Alexandrea, with her older half-brother Salvador, in Los Angeles. Gloria's traits are Outgoing and Materialistic.

The Rich Widow Robe

What would you wear when your 92 years old rich husband dies by a mysterious disease and you have to receive to the Police? A Marabu Robe DUH!

I absolutely bought that Bella Goth Kit solely for that mesh and was the best damn inversion of my life. I needed a long version for who else but the Black Widow of Pleasantview herself Dina Caliente. This is how i picture her opening the door 1 day after her first husband, Michael Bachelor died from old age.

The Robe comes in the Original 12 Swatches from the Secret Sanctuary Kit and 10 more Swatches from the Vintage Glamour SP.

El Dorado Cabaret & Casino (Download Tray Files & CC)

Yes, I'm back to playing TS4 and that means I'm back to building. I created a sim called Octavia who used to be an exotic dancer (until she married money and started the black widow challenge), so I needed to have a Generic lot that worked as a cabaret/casino for gameplay purposes and I decided to build it from scratch. I'm now sharing it with you guys in case you also need something similar for your vintage 1920s/30s/40s save file.

The exterior is obviously inspired by the infamous El Dorado Berlin while the interior I kinda reimagined myself. Here are some screenshots:

Before you go ahead and download it into your game, a few IMPORTANT disclaimers:

The lot is a 30x20. I built it on Magnolia Promenade.

I used items from a few expansions and packs (listed below), so if you don't own them those items might be replaced with others.

This lot is designed to work as a Stripclub, therefore you'll be needing the Wicked Whims mod in order to obtain the pole and have your sims being able to dance for money.

Like all my builds, this is a heavily CC based lot. If you don't have a powerful PC, it might get laggy while trying to play with it.

Regarding the CC, I do not own nor take credit from any item included within this lot. All credit goes to their amazing creators.

The .ZIP file (2.76 GB) includes two folders: one for the Tray Files and another one with all the CC. I'm 100% sure all the CC I used is already public for everyone; if it's not, it's been definitely longer than three weeks since it has all been in my game and you (the CC creator) shouldn't be putting content behind permanent paywalls to begin with ;)

I did use bb.moveobjects on while building and have playtested it, so it should be fully functional. Let me know if otherwise.

Like I said before, the lot is currently set as Generic so I could turn it into a Stripclub with Wicked Whims and have my burlesque sims make some simoleons while dancing. Wicked Whims is not included within the CC folder, you'll have to download it and install it yourself.

D-Day, 1944, London, England

Months of planning with the Americans had finally come to fruition. Operation Overlord was to happen after a weather delay. They were invading Mainland Europe, and while Byron was safe in London overseeing communications, his eldest son was one of the men storming the beaches, and there was nothing he could do but wait. 

He knew he was not the only father in the building waiting to hear news of their sons, but it still was painstaking. As reports came through of the blood baths on the beaches, that water was red from all blood. Hours passed slowly, and each time the clock struck another hour, he still had no news, he wanted to go to France himself. He was not on the front lines but stuck behind a desk. 

Just an hour before sundown, an aide walked into the room and handed him a list from the commanding officer of the battalion of those who perished, and to his joy, his son’s name was not on the list. When the aide left, he set down the list and cried tears of relief alone in his office.

Hello historical simblr! Inspired by my deep love for media with an ensemble female cast, non linear narratives and situations no one would want to be stuck in, I have decided to start a sims story with all that set against a backdrop of WWII.

The story will take place in the above named boarding school and will be semi bacc (build a city challenge) inspired, therefore, I am asking for you to offer up your 1940s teenagers in need of a proper English education with no frills and fuss. I will be accepting up to seven sims for now, and there is no deadline- just until I get all seven.

Feel free to let me know exactly who your teenager is: Are there full of airs and in need of their corners being rubbed down? Are they a good sport who loves a trick? Are they the dreaded drawling American? let me know everything!

Disclaimer: this story is set in the time of ww2, as a result, themes of war and the inevitable loss that comes with it will be explored.Also I think it would be remiss not to acknowledge the prejudice towards people from the "colonies" that was endemic at the time so mine is unfortunately not a colour or sex blind world. Still, my story would not be centred on pain and struggle, but rather joy.

Alexandrea Cole Morales: 1940s Lookbook

A later 1940s lookbook for Alexandrea Cole Morales in her mid-adulthood years. By the end of the decade, Alexandrea has achieved some success as a Hollywood actress. Widowed during World War II, she has found a second chance at love and began dating her fellow actor, Vito Ferraro. She is the parent of two children, teenage Salvador and preteen Gloria. In contrast to the wartime years, Alexandrea now wears fuller skirts and longer dresses, especially for formal events. (I haven't been able to feature all of Alexandrea's many looks in-game yet but hopefully will showcase them more as the decade nears a close!)

Hi there! I haven't been super active lately on the simming community due my new job but now i have some extra time between my hands and decided to finish this WIP that is been sitting on my folders since June. This time i give you these Clayfied versions of these 1940's inspired Victory Rolls hair. I really love these hairs with my heart (even with all that alpha) but i never been a fan of Colores Urbanos shady Patreons practices that she had back on the day (Locking CC for 2 years before released them for free? WTF honey?)

Both hairs were created by Colores Urbanos but you dont need the original meshes to have this version, these hairs were completely remapped and retextured from scratch that way i could have that Maxis Match clay style.

Listen To A Radio Show

Gather around the radio and listen for a while!

This mod adds a new pie menu, Listen to a Radio Show, to all regular stereos, which will give your sim the option to listen to a variety of different kinds of shows, mainly aimed at the first half of the 1900s up into the 1960s, inspired by things that they would have been able to listen to. Despite TV taking off in the 1950s, radio shows seem to have remained popular for a while after that.

There's also a new social interaction to go with one of the shows, and a new piece of deco cc to go with another.

The pie menu should show up on most things in the audio category of buy mode. It won't appear on the music box from Life and Death, Lin-Z, DJ booths, or karaoke machines. It should show up on cc stereos too, for maximum historical usefulness.

While your sims are listening to their show, they are strongly encouraged to sit (on furniture, not the floor) and listen. They may decide not to, especially if there's not enough room or seating. They might decide to dance, or chat, or put away a book. They will stay within three tiles of the radio, in the same room. They should not cancel the show autonomously unless their needs drop too low, the radio breaks, or they get interrupted by something with even higher priority (including, unfortunately, a pop up to ask if they want a new preference).

Most of the shows are two hours long. Some are available for toddlers, some only for child and older sims. Some are basegame, some require City Living (the talking ones), and Country requires Horse Ranch.

Most of the time, sims will get a buff while listening (kids don't get a buff for listening to soap operas. Some of these vary by age and/or traits. Then, once the show is over, most of the time, sims will get one of a variety of buffs from what they watched. If a group of sims watch, they probably won't get matching buffs (I'm thinking of it as they reacted to different parts. One show would generally have been shorter than they'll be watching here. For example, soap operas may have been 10-15 minutes long.). The buffs may be a reaction to a specific show, or they might be a bit generic. If they reference a specific show, it's a real show that existed. If it references a real person, I mostly substituted a sim (not necessarily from TS4), except for one singer.

At any time while the show is on, you can change the station, and sims listening will continue to act as if their show is on. You can even turn it off. If your sim or you hate the station I picked, you can switch it. If you want your News to sound like Latin Pop, well, they had studio musicians. But if your sim has a trait that makes them lose fun from listening to the show, that will continue.

Local groups would register, and then they would be sent reading material to review before the weekly broadcast, with questions included to discuss. They would then return their answers to the provincial office, which would sometimes forward summaries to the government.

You can try to use it without City Living if you want, but I won't be providing support for that. You'll have 3 of the 10 shows available, and you'll have an overall poor experience. The Country show requires Horse Ranch, but that shouldn't affect the rest of the mod.

Known issues:

If a sim gets interrupted on their way to the stereo, they'll (probably) still listen to the show, but they may not get the buff for it. This is most likely to happen if there's little room. If they don't get the currently listening buff, they might not get the follow-up buff either. If you want them to get the currently listening buff, you can cancel the interaction and tell them to listen again.

This was inspired by my Horse Ranch radio as BG TV. The problem with that one is that it's tied to one specific radio. The idea was to inject TV interactions into stereos, but video is not compatible with audio devices. This is not a replacement for the TV, since it does very different things, and won't count for a bar's requirements or for holidays that require TVs. It's more of a companion.
