He Tian was swinging a leg over his bike, kicking back the stand, and twisting his hand around the throttle. He jerked his head back, took what he could from his cigarette, and ground it beneath the floor.

‘Don’t mind the mess,’ he said, over the engine.

Guan Shan chewed on the inside of his cheek, breathed out heavily through his nose. His hips fitted snugly against He Tian’s, their thighs neatly aligned. Guan Shan leaned when He Tian leaned, He Tian’s shoulder blades shifting back, and Guan Shan avoided the sticky residue by planting his hands on the hot underside of He Tian’s white tee, skin warm, slightly damp, torso muscles clenched as they edged out of the parking lot and joined the flow of traffic. The vibration of the engine chased all the way up Guan Shan’s spine, and Guan Shan bit down on his tongue hard enough he could almost ignore it. There was a violence in being this close to He Tian.

Your sexy casino owning boyfriend, had been working all day and you really missed him however you left him alone when he was working. You know the casino is a big part of his life, its even how you two met over a year ago. It was definitely chemistry and still to this day your heart belongs to him. He has even admitted some of the bad stuff he did but has changed over a new leaf to be better and you have complete faith he will be better, he already is on his way.

You walk into his office softly knocking on the door as he looks up and the line shines in across his face you smile he looked like the most beautiful thing you have ever seen. He smiles at you and he warms your heart, he tells his side men to leave you two as you walk towards his desk. You pull out a little basket you had put together for brunch together. You knew he rushed out too early that morning to get breakfast and it was a bit too early for lunch yet but this felt like a perfect time for you two to spend time together and eat at the same time. As you set the basket down he stands up to meet you by taking your lips into his. You always love he surprises you with his sweet kisses even when you least expect it. You melt into his kiss forgetting about the basket on the desk. He cups your face kissing you deeper, you close your eyes and breathe him in. He always smells so good sometimes too good to the point it intoxicates you and poison's your mind all day with thoughts of him when you should be working.

He is always so gentle to you and kind its hard to believe sometimes some of the things he has told you that he has done in the past. You let those past mistakes wash over you though as you sit down in a chair next to him and you two enjoy a nice brunch together. He tells you about a casino party he is planning to have tonight and wants you to dress your best. Its been a long while since he did one but you were excited. This man has spoiled you so much over the last year. He tells you anything your hearts content and its yours even though its him you want more than anything else. However he says he wants to make me happy because the idea of losing you would kill him. Its his dramatic side but its ok you love all parts of him.

Later that evening you were getting ready for the party you picked out one of his favorite purple and pink dresses he had bought you months ago. You put your hair up and finished off you make up and shoes. You were ready to go but when you checked around place with him you didn't see him. One of the butlers told you where he was and you went to the balcony of the air ship. There he was the light shining down on him his hair blowing in the wind. He looked like a angel without his wings. You wanted to show him your dress however it looked like he was a bit sad so that would have to wait. You walk out to him putting your hand on his shoulder and turning him around. You see the tears lacing his eyes and you pull him into a hug. He is such a sensitive soul things hurt him much easier than he lets others know.

This is the first time he has cried in your arms, he is your baby boy in these cases he just needs you to be affectionate and make sure he knows you love him. You wipe his tears away and kissing his cheek. "Whats wrong, my love?" You could tell he was fighting a war inside himself but he finally pulled away looking into your eyes, which told you how much he loved you with just a look. "I-I...just don't want to lose you." You looked him shocked not sure what brought this on. You had been with him not for so long there was no way you were leaving him for any reason. You thought hard how you wanted to tell him to make him believe you're his forever. You kisses his lips softly "I'm going no where my love, ever." He broke down in tears this time as you pull him closer into you.

After holding him close to you and he cried out what he needed to you wiped the tears off his face. "I'm never leaving you. I love you too much." He ended up confessing what he had done last when he made a deal with some dealers that dished out these coins that could hurt people. He begged for your forgiveness, you were just glad this man was such a beautiful soul that he never had to tell you but he did. The man you met would have never told you these things nor would he would be upset, however the man he is now feels bad when something could hurt someone. "My love, I love how this effects you now hurting others, and we will fix this together." He shook his head as he gulped and said with confidence. "I don't do it for them I hurt for you because I don't want to lose you and I don't you seeing me as a bad man." This warmed your heart he was only wanting to fix these things for you. How could you not love this man when everything he does its for you and his future and to make you happy. You smiled at him kissing him softly letting him know its ok and you forgive him.

The party was to start soon you reached for his hand "You ready to make a entrance my love?" He took your hand, wiped his tears and headed back inside towards the party. You walked along side of him and it didn't take long after wiping his eyes that he didn't gasp stopping you in your tracks. He looked you up and down and smiled "You look stunning!" It warmed your heart knowing he noticed, however you knew if he hadn't been hurting he would have known sooner. You thanked him with a gentle kiss to his lips. As you walked hand in hand in to the party everyone stop and applauded. As you walked to the middle of the floor you stopped him and he was confused, especially after someone walked over handing you a black box.

You were wearing a lovely dress but you pulled it up enough so that you could get down on one knee. You knew your sweetheart would never feel comfortable enough doing this he was too afraid to lose you so in this case you felt the need to let him know how much you want to spend life with him. As your on one knee looking back at him the surprise on his face is a memory you would love to box it up and keep forever. "Darling, you gave me someone to live for, to take care of. You gave me a home when my heart was lost, you gave me passion to live. I want to stand by wiping your tears as you wipe mine, I want to hold your heart as you do mine everyday as we grow old together. Will you my love marry me and take me as your partner for life?" Tears streamed his face which was the reaction you were sure you would get. He pulled you up into his arms nodding yes as his voice broke. "Y-yes!" He kissed you so tenderly, as you slid a ring on his hand.

It was such a lovely night in his arms dancing and mingling with people. Neither of you were the most social yet together no one would ever know it was a weakness in both of you. Your strengths and weaknesses together just make you both invincible when standing tall together. When the party was over he surprised you he picked you up and carried back to your room. You normally keep separate rooms tonight he wanted to stay with you though. He wanted to be in your arms all night as he had you in his. After changing and getting ready for bed you curled up holding him while you both watched a show on tv before dozing off in slumber.

@whumpril Day 1; Red Alert, Panic Attack Day 19; muffled sobs, “I’m worried about you.” Description: Red Alert finds Drift in the hallway, which is concerning at 2 A.M. Warnings: None 

Red Alert walks down the hall, not expecting to find Drift on the floor. While strange, he assumed it was nothing until he studied how Drift sat on the floor. It’s two in the morning. What is Drift doing? Red Alert questions. “Drift? Hey, what’s going on?” Red Alert asks before realizing Drift is terrified of something. Fear on Drift’s face as he struggles to get air in.

“Crosshairs?” Red whispers, shaking the sleeping mech. Crosshairs is not pleased, but seeing the one who woke him is Red Alert worries him, “it’s Drift. I don’t know if I should’ve gotten Ratchet or not.” “Scrap,” Crosshairs mumbles as he gets out of bed and runs out of the room. Red Alert follows, worried he should have gotten Ratchet.

“Drift?” Crosshairs tries to get his friend’s attention, “hey, look at me,” he makes Drift look at him, hating the fear he’s seeing. Damn it, not again. It’s worse this time. What the frag was Drift’s nightmare this time? Crosshairs wasn’t expecting to feel Drift trembling as he hugs the mech. Red Alert knows Crosshairs forgot he was around but doesn’t care. He’s more worried about Drift and how Crosshairs seems used to this. He gets his answer why as Crosshairs talks about Jamie. Now it makes sense. The damn nightmare situation. How often does this happen? Does Crosshairs have nightmares that result in him panicking like this? Red sits on the floor, hating that he can’t help. Crosshairs hates how Drift deals with nightmares that frighten him. Happy both don’t deal with them often. The twenty minutes always feels like hours. He knows Drift shouldn’t be in the room with Jamie even if she’s asleep. Red Alert watches Crosshairs and Drift ho back into their room. Watching Crosshairs get Drift back in bed. Even in this situation, the security officer admires the friendship the two mechs have.

“.... she’s ok,” he hears Crosshairs, but he can’t see what the mech is doing in the dark room. Red didn’t think Crosshairs would walk out of the room.

“How often does that happen?” Red Alert asks. “Rarely, maybe three times a year. Ratchet and Rung know.” *And you?" “What are you doing walking down the hall anyway?” “You know my room is down this hall past this room.” Red Alert says nothing more, not pleased. Crosshairs ignored his question and went to his room. Worried about what the two mechs deal with, even if it’s rare.

Crosshairs is worried about Drift appearing shaken up from the nightmare he had. Relieved, Lightning took Jamie downstairs. He watches Drift lie on his stomach, his face on his pillow. Did he forget I’m here? Crosshairs questions. Crosshairs: try to keep Jamie occipital. I’ll tell you later. Lightning; scrap, ok. Crosshairs approaches the beds, hearing muffled sobs. Drift quickly looks to see who’s touching him as Crosshairs puts a hand on Drift’s shoulder, but he can’t hide that he is crying. “I’m worried about you,” Crosshairs says, “you’re never like this after a nightmare.” Crosshairs wasn’t expecting Drift to tell him what the nightmare was about when they watched Jamie in critical condition. That was seven years ago. There’s no guaranteeing Jadin won’t be back, but there are more Autobots who’ll protect Jamie. “... I think Lennox will also have the soldiers help in the fight if she ever returns.” There’s not much Crosshairs can say. Knowing Jamie can be in critical condition without Jadin attacking like she did before. He has Drift sit up so he can hug him.   Do I tell him I am also worried about when Jadin returns? Crosshairs wonders but decides not to say anything else.   A little time passes, and Drift takes a shower while Crosshairs lets Lightning know she can bring Jamie back into the room. Not looking forward to telling Lightning the situation.

I recently made a post about wanting to understand the concept of Spideytorch more, and was directed to your blog! If it's not too much of an ask, could you break down their relationship for me?

Sure! I can do that. I'm going to refer back to your post just as a jumping off point -- Spideytorch is definitely, 100% a comics-based thing. Prior to the upcoming Fantastic Four MCU film, the film rights for both characters have never been held by the same company, and "crossover" films are very much a product of the MCU, although ironically Andrew Garfield did once say he wanted Michael B Jordan, who played Johnny in the 2015 Fantastic Four film, to play his Peter's love interest.

But while it is comics-based, it's a very different scenario than Spideypool, where the comics are very much based on their popularity as a duo in fandom. I'm not a Spideypool fan, just as like a disclaimer, but as someone interested in the symbiotic relationship between fandom and superhero comics, Spideypool is really interesting because their popularity came first -- they got that team up comic because they were already popular in fandom, they didn't become popular in fandom because they had the team up comic. So it's a really interesting look at how fan activity influences the connections comic characters have. That's not the case with Spideytorch.

(I'm not saying one of those things is inherently better than the other, but since you mentioned Spideypool and their team up comic in your post, I thought it made for an interesting comparison.)

Peter and Johnny literally meet in Amazing Spider-Man #1, back in 1963. The two premier teen heroes of the day, they have a lot of early interaction because they played well off each other -- Peter, a broke loner, was often jealous of Johnny's fame and money, whereas Johnny bemoaned his girl problems compared to chick magnet Peter. (Johnny's girlfriend at the time literally asked him why he couldn't be more like Peter.) They're both pretty big personalities, so there was a lot of pigtail pulling in the early days, but even when they argued there was always a sense that they genuinely liked each other deep down. For Peter, who didn't have friends in the business, Johnny was someone he could rely on, and for Johnny -- who just, like, did not have friends at all until he got to college -- Spider-Man was a peer, someone he looked up to and admired.

As Johnny and Peter grew up, the frequency of their team ups faded a little, but their lives have always intersected. In some ways, they've run in parallel. They went to college at the same time, got married at the same time. (Peter's marriage was solid until he sold it to the devil; Johnny's faltered after a decade because sometimes you think you marry someone but they're actually a shapeshifting alien from outerspace who was sent to kill your family. Peter is one of the very few people who Johnny told about that in the aftermath.) Peter unmasked to Johnny, told him his identity, one of the very few people he's done that for. When Johnny "died" (he got better), he left Peter his place on the Fantastic Four. And then, when Johnny came back from the dead, the first person he saw on the other side was Peter.

It's always been a love connection, however you define that love. It's a connection that has existed from 1963 until today, across multiple fictional universes and continuities. For me, the appeal of them has always been not just their chemistry but also their history.

Also they're just a lot of fun.

Since I’ve discovered Lego Ninjago at the ripe age of seven, the biggest fantasy of mine has always been to be one of the ninja on the team, fighting alongside the core four and dealing with Serpentine and so on. When I was a little girl, the only way I could satisfy the urge was to use my imagination.

So when the Covid 19 hit back in 2020, and I discovered Wattpad for the first time in my life, it was as if I had entered a whole new world based off of the imagination of other people all across the world. I was spending days and nights on it until there was nothing worth reading for me.

Back in 2022, I finally decided to catch up on the show, seeing it pop up on my Netflix account and decided to give it a go. Before so, I had developed a habit of reading dozens of fan fictions about the show I was at the moment hooked onto, so once I finished watching all of the Ninjago seasons, I went through any fan fiction on Wattpad that I could find regarding Ninjago x reader/original character and quickly noticed a pattern that made me grow bored of whatever book I was reading rather quickly.

Every single fan fiction, save for few rare ones, had the main character be an elemental master of darkness/destruction.

Every. Single. One.

Now at first, I thought the issue stemmed from the fact that there was an obvious lack of originality and uniqueness, but it actually originated from the fact that every story had the exact same storyline, and I mean the exact same one.

The main character would be an elemental master of darkness/destruction and because the elemental powers are inherited, the character is obviously the child of Lord Garmadon and a sibling of Lloyd. Of course, let’s not forget that the character has extreme protectiveness over Lloyd and despises their mother with concerning levels of rage. They are always stubborn and a badass character who never does no wrong and is always in the right and somehow knows exactly what is going to happen but still messes up so the plot can continue as it originally does.

They are also, obviously, the fifth ninja who also possesses a golden weapon of their own, which is usually the most useless thing to ever exist. During the Season 2: Legacy of the Green Ninja, they are in most cases turned to the bad side because their power is unbeatable but it is then somehow beatable because the plot obviously has to move on. Not to mention, they are the only ninja who can use their elemental powers without the golden weapons because they are just that good.

I can guarantee that if anyone goes to Wattpad right now and tries to find a longer Ninjago book with the character insert, they would find at least few books who resemble this exact description. Why? Because the idea of a character, other than Garmadon, who is an elemental master of darkness and destruction is a great plot and idea for the character in Ninjago realm, but none of them actually think outside the box when it comes to actually executing it.

For example, when they write the character to be the fifth ninja and the fifth protector of the fifth golden weapon and the prophesied green savior, why don’t they write about the fact that the element of darkness and destruction is the toughest for Lloyd to master because he refuses to become like his father and because the element itself takes a toll on the mind of the one who possesses it?

Or why don’t they write about the fact that the reason the Ninjago realm is not perfect is because the First Spinjitzu Master used the element of destruction to create something, only for it to come back to bite him in the ass?

Why don’t they give the character the arc of trying to master their elemental power after Lloyd gives each of the ninja a piece of his golden power in Season 3: Rebooted, only for them to go down the wrong path?

Why don’t they write about the inner conflict the child of Lord Garmadon who inherited his elemental powers would have when they see that what others call a gift, in their case it is called a curse? Why don’t they expand on the feelings of envy the child would feel towards Lloyd for being praised and cherished for his destiny while they are looked down on for their own?

There is so many different possibilities to that plot device and yet I have yet to see someone do it properly.

I apologize if this offends anyone but it has been bugging me for three years now and I had to write it down somewhere where I could hear different opinions about it. I am not trying to shame anyone on their work or anything, if that is what you want to write, go for it, I am a nobody with no life who is still hung up on a kids show that aired back in 2011.

It's weird how a TV show's fanbase are these days attacking the actual authors of the books or people connected to the source material for daring to criticize the TV adaptation of story/themes/characters they are intimately familiar with.

I mean, when we as an audience can criticize a TV show for doing so and so and not making sense or mutilating characters and their arcs, surely authors who know the source material better than anyone also have a right to do so?

This happened with Brandon Sanderson when he criticized the Wheel of Time adaptation on Amazon Prime and show fanatics then went on to attack him and his writing of the WOT books. And it's now happening with GRRM calling out the HOTD adaptation on HBO.

And a lot of the times the changes in story and character are not even because of budget or time constraints and all that. It's because the showrunners/writers simply thinking they know better than the actual author of the books or that their version is better or that their favorite characters need more screentime and plot while sidelining the main characters of the books. It's their fanfiction which they get networks to finance by using the IP of popular fantasy works out there.

The reason we got only mild criticism from GRRM after GOT ended was because the books were not finished and D&D had no source material to adapt. That is not the case with HOTD and F&B.

Anyways, I don't watch HOTD after the way HBO/D&D massacred the ASoIaF books with GOT and don't intend to. The nihilism of HBO's version of this world - especially after what HBO/D&D did to the character of Daenerys Targaryen - is not for me. The world is already shitty enough for women, I don't need it in my fiction as well.

In fact I hope HBO is angry enough with GRRM that they stop consulting with him for future prequels etc. - which leaves GRRM time for finishing THE WINDS OF EFFING WINTER!! Like come on GRRM. Jon Snow has been lying dead in the snow for 13 years! Dany is still in Essos! Arya is still in Braavos! Bran has had 3 chapters in 19 years! Finish the book. That's all ASoIaF fans want at this point, IMO.
