Checked out of the apartment on Rue Jouye-Rouve this morning and bid my comrades farewell as they move on to Portugal and I move into the twilight years of my trip. The end of summer and start of life and work in England has begun to brood over me now, causing irregular moments of nausea, but the splendour of Paris remedies this for now. At the time of writing I’m sitting at a cafe atop Parc de Belleville in the north of the 20eme. The park, relatively new in contrast to the city's other parks, is the highest in Paris. Consequently it provides a view not unlike the one from Sacre Coeur but unlike in bother. Quite the opposite rather: half past 9 and only my seat and another of the many seats are taken. The cafe chairs and tables, graffitied walls and a postcard view of the Parisian skyline forms the scene in front of me: a microcosm of the city, and an excellent place to kill some time. The tables slowly fill at the cafe with a jump in numbers after 10:30. Patrons smoke their gauloises and drink their coffees, mostly on their own, and stare in silence at the street and surrounds. No where else are people more seemingly content to focus on their thoughts, or their surroundings, to pass time. Rodin’s bronze thinker sits over across the river from me, but one need only look around at any time here to see him personified.

we had been planning this since my birthday, and it gave me something to look forward to, as i don't normally do anthing for festivities.

we got to ravenna at 10pm because aurora was working late. we put our sleeping bags down at her mum's camper van under the canopy she had put up for us and ate the gummies she had soaked in rum for us. they were bitter and gooey. that was also my breakfast the next morning. we took the bus to the beach, but we got a bit lost and got off too early and we had to walk for twenty minutes instead of the seven it would have taken if we took the bus. ah well. we got to the beach at 11.30pm and at this point federico took out the drinks ang got his lighter out. we started with a half a bottle of strawberry vodka split between the 8 of us (alessandro decided not to drink) and some weed. after a few rounds of never have i ever and the opening of the bottle of gin and a sencond bottle of strawberry vodka is when i started to find it sort of hard to stay standing up. i don't understand why people say that alcohol causes you to black out because i remember everything. also last time i drank this much i didn't feel much from so i'm thankfull for the weed because without it i would't of had such a good time. that's when the makeouts started. sofia taught me how to because since she left her girlfriend she has snogged 12 people, all written down on a note on her phone. apparently i'm quite good. i'm not so sure but i'll take the complement. i also snogged valentina and aurora, but aurora's got a boyfriend but he didn't say anything, even though i think he should've. i don't quite understand why he doesn't think that it's cheating. they haven't even kissed properly yet even if they've been together for two weeks, but whatever it's their call and none of my busness. we all sort of collapsed shortly after someone had the bright idea to give each other hickeys. i accidentally gave sofia a massive one on her clavicle but ah well. valentina and sofia made out with mattia, but they both regret that decision because honestly he's a shithead for pretending to be drunk and then taking advantage of them. federico agrees with me about that. i've realized he's much nicer now that he left margherita and i've gotten to know him better. i just thought he was a popular bellend who make lots of stupid jokes but he truly is a nice person to be around. we made it back to the camper on foot. we had to walk thirty minutes, and i couldn't chat to aurora because she had to set off early to get her mum to go back without us, because otherwise she would have realized we had hevier alcohol than just beer. we got back after half an hour of walking, and a lot of people just sort of collapsed. it was almost 5am at this point, but i could't sleep, so i just wandered around the campsite with lorde playing in the background as i watched the sun rise. it was peaceful. and dancing to 'a world alone' and 'ribs' near an empty road at 5.30am is a liberating experience that i hope everyone has.

i only slept an hour. and we spent the rest of the morning lounging at the campsite. at 1.30pm we got the bus into town and we got an ice cream, which was the only thing i had all day apart from rum gummies at 6.30am. we stayed in town for an hour, and went into a chinese shop where sofia got makeup to cover the love bites from last night, valentina got temporary tatoos, federico got a weed t-shirt and got lighter fluid for my zippo.

we went home at 5, but there was an accident on the way, so it took us longer to get home than we thought so i fell asleep on the way back.

Kiedy patrzę na młode dziewczyny, czuję się źle. Wszystkie są piękne. Wszystkie są szczupłe. Za szczupłe. I czasem widzę wśród nich przepiękne dziewczyny, ze zdrową figura. I jest mi przykro. Bo wiem, że one w swoich głowach nienawidzą się za to, że nie są wieszakami jak rówieśniczki. Żyją w piekle we własnych głowach, stworzonym specjalnie dla nich przez społeczeństwo.

Ale patrzyłam na to jako na odległy problem. Problem młodych ludzi. Gdyż sama byłam otoczona ludźmi podobnymi do mnie, a przynajmniej wyrozumiałymi dla mnie i mojej przypadłości. Dla mojej masy, mojego kształtu.

Ale dziś... Dziś znalazłam się w nowym towarzystwie. Nie moim towarzystwie. I dziewczyny.. wszystkie były równie chude co te dzieciaki z którymi pracuje w szkole. Może nie aż tak, trochę bardziej zdrowo. Ale poczułam się dokładnie tak, jak nie chce żeby ktokolwiek się czuł. I nie potrafię... Nie potrafię przestać się tak czuć.
