Summary:

The day that Ken moves out of the Iwatodai dorm, he brings only a small suitcase, a backpack and Koromaru, trotting beside him.

Well, that's not quite right.

In his suitcase is a dark red coat, softened with use and lovingly folded. The colour is slightly faded from repeated washing, and there's a clumsy stitch in the back of the coat where Ken had tried to fix it one night, his vision all but obscured by tears and the dim light of his lamp. He's sure that the blood from his pricked fingers stain the patch too, no doubt.

Wrapped in that are cookbooks that have been annotated with neat, curling script. In his backpack are the notes that he'd taken throughout the year in this dorm about coffee and how to brew it; they had been something that he'd worked on in secret, after Minato had left for bed and he's cleaning up the crockery from his coffee brewing session.

What a shame that he will never get to show these things to the people they belong to anymore.
