I don’t understand when people think the Doctor was crying in that end scene because he was sad he couldn’t save the stupid kids. Those were definitely tears of anger and frustration. He was so pissed these stupid kids wouldn’t put aside their bigotry to let him save them. He’s angry about that, not sad.

Lindy is such a messed up character to watch, because she is an unlikeable, petulant, privileged ipad kid, who has no coping skills, is terrified the entire episode and is as helpless as a toddler, so much so the doctor accidentally talks to her like one
And because you're an empathetic person, you'll bounce between concern because the actress is so good at displaying genuine terror and also hoping she'll get eaten when she shit talks the Doctor and Ruby
And it was a warning right off the bat that she kept praising Ricky for being there to do everything for her. Before this, she was at least sad for her friends or scared for the strangers on the street because she didn't know what to do. She didn't know how to save herself
She never really cared about the other people dying, Ricky pointed that out. When she said it was the best day of her life because she met him, and he was like, "There are still thousands of people dying at this moment..."
And she didn't care about Ricky either, he was just a novelty and a convenience for her
In the moment where it counted, and she had a life or death situation, she realised she could throw Ricky under the bus and save herself. She developed a shitty, selfish survival skill, and she learned fast (see how she learned to walk fast)
THEN you wanna see her get eaten, and you wanna punch her bitchy head off.
And she has no remorse or issue lying to the doctor and Ruby about what happened. She had no hesitation and she downright smiled while lying about Ricky's memory
And she thinks her and her people are going to go off and survive? You already know their fates. They're privileged rich kids who couldn't boil water. And you know the part she will play in their downfall. She will lie and push people under the bus and yeah
It's an interesting and horrifying arc, and you're so satisfied to know she's destined to die

Ruby made the rules of the game
She’d heard stories as a child of people stepping in fairy circles and disappearing to fairyland, to Elfame, to Tir Na Nog. So it was only logical that the doctor would disappear after stepping in one too, sent off to some magical land
The last time Ruby went to wales she ended up in a little pub with live music and drunken local lads who propositioned her endlessly. When she finally made her lack of interest clear after half an hour of tight lipped smiles and polite thank yous to increasingly uncomfortable compliments the boys turned cruel. They mocked her endlessly for being English. They made jokes about the English being soft and about Welsh independence. They smelled like cigarettes and cider and caged her into their little corner booth. The Welsh hated the English those boys said it themselves, so it made perfect sense in Ruby’s mind that locals in this pub would be just as cruel.
When ruby thinks back on the day the doctor disappeared two things stand out with immense clarity the name mad Jack scribbled on a piece of paper and the doctor talking about Roger ap Gwilliam. After seeing his debate on the news it became so clear that they must be connected it couldn’t be a coincidence. So Ruby settled on an objective and new rules for her game
But ruby lost the game the minute Marti Bridges joined the fray. Poor Marti with her big eyes and constantly quivering lips. One thing the doctor and ruby have in common is they don’t sacrifice others to win. The moment that apology slipped from her lips ruby lost the game and had to start over.
When ruby was 11 mindlessly browsing the internet she stumbled across a Buzzfeed article about the top 10 weirdest facts about the human mind. Entry number 7 claimed that in your final moments of brain function before you died your whole life flashed before your eyes. Older now with skin like leather and white wiry hair ruby mused about the idea of being able to change her past in those few moments when she revisited them. So Ruby set the rules once more
And Ruby so desperate to change her past to abandon a boring life of loneliness changed the rules

I feel everybody talks about the mystery in 73 Yards, about what it meant, but, what about the prime minister, Roger ap Gwilliam?
(taking off the cut because apparently it's not a thing that counts as spoiler for a lot of people)
Tumblr media
I gotta ask: has anybody else, watching Doctor Who's 73 Yards, seen how Roger looks, acts and says the same things as the president of Argentina?
Allow me to elaborate:
extreme right
trying to participate in international wars (he tried to form an emergency committee to participate in Israel's war)
going on and on about being part of a community usually discriminated against (in his case, he's obsessed with Israel and Judaism and plans to convert)
disregarding inflation and cost of living concerns
a generally violent way of talking AND that face and hair
his nickname is THE MAD.
I feel dirty just putting his photograph on my blog, but it's pretty uncanny:

Say what you want about the newest season of Doctor Who but you have to admit that changing the whole Timeless Child™ plot point from "The Doctor is actually the bestest guy/girl in the entire universe AND the smartest AND the most important AND my mermaid has infinite power +1" to "The Doctor can empathise with troubles of abandoned children because they too were adopted" was the best decision RTD could've made and I honestly feel sorry he had to dig himself out of that hole to begin with

So David Tennant was my childhood Doctor, the one I thought of as the Doctor at Doctor Who's peak. And seeing him back has been amazing and it's like he's never been away.
But
The second Ncuti Gatwa arrived on screen, didn't even say a word, just popped his head out and smiled, it was like "The Doctor is here!" And I couldn't keep my eyes off him! He was so meant to play this role. I cannot wait to see more of him!!!!!

new doctor who episode thoughts
The episode over all was good but also anticlimactic, there was so much tension towards the mystery of Ruby's mom only to find out she was completely normal (I loved her reunion with Rudy though, it made me cry). Why would a 15 year girl who just left her baby at a church dramatical point to a sign post to name her daughter, how would the church people even know to call her that as well.
There was also the fact that Ruby's only a one season companion when she had so much potential to be in more than one season. Though I do hope we get a reunion between the doctor and Ruby in the next season (maybe she is just there for an episode). I also hope for a reunion between the doctor and Susan, due to how hyped that was over the season due to the anagram.
I also wished we learned more about Ms. Flood, I completely understand the element of mystery that still needs to be there but I also feel a little more information about her would hold me over until the next season.
