Bubz's Slasher Fictober Day 15 : (Peach Cobbler) Clean up (Autumnal Equinox Part 2)

Billy Loomis:

~Back to business as usual really, not much changed for him to begin with.

~He'll help pack up all the decorations and things like that. Making sure their put in the correct boxes for next year.

~If your sad about the holidays being over then he'll throw you a few pity look but to be honest he couldn't care less.

~With everything that's happened with his family, I can see Billy being ok with the season but not really the holidays themselves, so he's relieved when their over with.

~He's also super pumped for warmer weather to return so you can get out and do more besides hayride and ya know, murdering your peers dressed as Ghostface.

Thomas Hewitt:

~Like I said the first time around, he barely notices the seasons actually changing.

~He'll be more focused on getting the farm ready for the Spring and Summer seasons to come and ensure everything runs as it always does.

~If you somehow managed to convince Drayton to put decorations up he'll take them down for you.

~He'll enjoy helping by polishing off all the rest of the seasonal baking and food you and Luda made though. That's his favorite part.

`You've given Tommy a greater appreciation for fall.

Michael Myers:

~It's over ? His overwhelming urger for vengeance has to cease for another year? Goddamnit.

~You'll start seeing less and less of Michael for obvious reasons after the season is over. Eventually when it starts to warm up you'll cease seeing him at all.

~He won't help you take decorations down, he usually backs off by that point, back into the shadows of Haddonfield.

~After the season if you really, really need to see him, head down to the old Myers house.

~In the off season leave him treats and things. His mind becomes so focused on hiding till next Halloween that he'll forget basic self care if he even had any to begin with.

Undertale!

Sans: Spring

•He enjoys the smell of rain and the atmosphere it brings it reminds him of waterfall.

•Lazy rainy days spent cuddled up in his bed with the sound of the rain against the rooftop and a soft blanket. Sounds perfect to him. It's hard to get him out of bed on these days and even if you do he's still pretty sleepy all day even more so than usual.

•He does enjoy the scenery and likes to stop and look at the flowers on the rare occasion he goes on walks, and if he does go on a walk it's going to be on a cloudy spring day with somewhat cool temperature.

•Lets not forget about his favorite holiday April Fools day! He goes hard on this day and his brother and the others try to steer clear of him but he always ends up getting them anyways. His pranks are normally practical but he sometimes whips out elaborate pranks. Most of the time people stumble upon whoopie cushions, bubble wrap under carpets, rigged air horns, and misplaced items for days after the holiday.

Papyrus: Summer

•Paps loves being out and about under the summer sun when the temperature is nice and he can show off in his cropped shirts. He owns a bunch of them, his closet is sorted by season and his summer one is mostly cropped shirts with the occasional tank top and short sleeved shirt.

•Owns atleast 15 pairs of sunglasses that he tapes to his face when going. He has a collection of different tapes for this and chooses a different one for each mood. Made the mistake of using duct tape one time and had gunk stuck to his skull for days so he uses washi tape now.

•Definitely owns a straw sun hat and on the topic of hats I feel like he would love bucket hats too.

•He doesn't have the biggest sweet tooth but he enjoys the sweet treats that come with summer too like nice cream and watermelon.

•Will get into the shallow end of the pool (skeletons sink) and splash around with Undyne until Undyne gets to excited and tosses him into the deep end making him stuck at the bottom for the next ten minutes till she stops laughing and drags him out.

Underfell!

Red: Fall

•Dont tell anyone but he's a pumpkin spice enjoyer

•He loves the changing of the leaves and the crunch of the fallen ones under his boots. Plus fall is the best time to show off his leather jackets and sweaters.

•Pumpkin carving is one of his favorite activities and he gets pretty intricate with his designs. He always places them outside their door and gets blushy and sweaty over compliments he's really proud of his work just not used to recognition.

•Loves the chill in the air and let's not forget Halloween and spooky movies. He absolutely loves Halloween and he definitely goes to haunted houses. He tried to drag his brother along one time and Edge almost punched someone in the face so now he goes alone or with friends.

Edge: Fall

•He's a Spider Cider drinker. He loves the warmer hot drinks and a nice cup of Spider Cider and fall itself for some reason he can't place makes him feel nostalgic and while his childhood wasn't the best he does like thinking about the good memories with his brother.

•Enjoys going for walks in the park and the crisp fall air especially at night. He has a strict sleep schedule but he extends it by a small amount to enjoy the fall night weather.

•Not big on horror movies it's not that they're scary they're just pretty boring to him. He does enjoy occasionally watching them with his brother but would never watch one by himself. He just likes spending time with his brother when he gets the chance, something he'd never admit.

•He loves Halloween decorations, skeleton ones do make him uncomfortable sometimes especially if they're naked but he finds them humerus (hehe) after a short adjustment time his first year. Red got a skeleton and changed it to Edges likeness on year. Edge rolled his eyes at it but he keeps the skeleton in his closet and thinks it's pretty funny to dress up sometimes.

Stretch: Spring

•Stretch also enjoys April Fools day as this man is a practical pranker all the way. Often teams up with Sans to tag team the others but all's fair in love and war and the truce is often broken by Stretch himself. He just can't help it.

•Bees start becoming active in the spring and Stretch is a big fan of the little pollinators. Not only do they make honey they're adorable to him and help the ecosystem to continue functioning by spreading pollen.

•I know it's been clarified his cigarettes are not weed but as a stoner I'm making one of my favorite boys a stoner . He celebrates 4/20 with a joint or two and some major munchies while watching the midnight gospel or some documentary.

•Stretch enjoys the rain as well but more thunderstorm rain while sans enjoys light drizzles. He likes the lightning and can often be seen chilling outside while a thunderstorm is happening storm watching. His first thunderstorm was a mess as him and Blue had never experienced thunder before and were rightfully scared but when he saw the lightning for the first time he was mesmerized. He got over his fear by counting the seconds in between the lighting and thunder and continued to do so for the next few storms but isn't really afraid anymore.

Blue:Winter

•Blue loves the snow, it reminds him of Snowdin and there's so much fun stuff you can do in it. He always builds a snow version of himself to stand proud outside their house when winter comes.

•He's a hot cocoa drinker and does enjoy having a little peppermint stick in it as well as some whip cream. He owns a few different types of hot cocoa but his favorite is the one made of real chocolate and milk. He enjoys all the cookies and sweets that come with the season as well. He likes to bake cookies to share with his neighbors.

•Always starts his Gyftmas gift list months ahead of time and does his Gyftmas shopping early as well. He likes to be prepared even though he often buys surprise little gifts he uses as stocking stuffers. Speaking of stockings he and Stretch decorated theirs themselves and Blues definitely has a lot of glitter on it.

•His favorite holiday is Gyftmas and he always over decorates the house. He just gets into the spirit really easily and when he sees something in a store he likes he has to get it to decorate the house with, he's a little bit of an impulsive shopper. He has a little miniature Gyftmas village he always adds a little to each year, it's a tradition he started his first Gyftmas on the surface after Stretch made a joke about using one of the miniature trees as their actual Gyftmas tree

13. What were your shortest and longest fics posted this year?

Shortest: My Beloved Ghost and Me (d-y-i-n-g) a blackinnon fic that was 288 words. Longest: Stars Around My Scars, a Jily Soulmate au that has become my baby <3

12. What fic was the easiest to write?

That'll have to be Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away. A Jily fic where they survive Halloween but have to go on the run. I wrote that in like two hours.

2. What���s something new that you tried in a fic this year?

I wrote Harry/Parvati!!! There are not enough words to express how happy I am with that fic. It was so much fun and a breath of fresh air. Truly.

4. How many fandoms did you write for this year?

Five! I branched out this year I guess haha. I wrote for Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Wars.

5. What ships captured your heart?

Jily and Percabeth, mainly. But also Willabeth and Everlark kinda just took hold of me this year tbh.

15. What was the hardest fic to title?

It took me like a month to figure out how to title As if through water. I'm still not happy about it but whatever lol. that fic in general is not my favorite one I've written but oh well

From a fic I haven't published yet: “Um,” he’d replied, “I just– I’m pretty sure I blew one up a few years back.”

"The world fractures." This line is from my fic A Greater Woman Wouldn't Beg (But I Looked to the Sky and Said), where Lily finds out about the prophecy.

8. What fic meant the most to you to write?

Without a doubt, that one is Who's Afraid of Me? (You Should Be) I wrote this one for the @ladiesofhpfest and had so much fun diving into Hermione's character and her experiences as a muggleborn. I got to put in a lot of my own feminine rage in there too, which was nice lol. Basically Hermione means the world to me and I'm so glad I got to write about her.

2024 fanfic year in review ask game

Last year I designed an outfit for him, and I intend to do that this year as well, but since it took me till the 27th to finish Elaine's(her birthdays was the 15th) I'm not super confident that I'll have that finished on time. If I do, you're probably looking at that right now, but if not! Then at least this will be out on time.

Well that didn't work... My sleep schedual betrayed me and I didn't even get this posted on time... I meant to take a nap. I set 3 alarms. Did not work. Slept for 15 hours...

Anyway, this year, along side the outfit design, I'll also be doing an analysis that I've been wanting to do for quite a long while.

A name analysis!

Most of the characters in The Seven Deadly Sins -at least the important ones- have names relating to Arthurian myth, as the story is kind a based in it. But this, oddly enough, doesn't apply to almost any of the Fairies, even Harlequin -AKA "King"- despite him being one of the titular characters.

Meliodas and Ban are the fathers of two of Arthur's knight, Tristian and Lancelot respectively, Merlin is Merlin, iirc there are two different Escanors depending on the story, and Gowther is...apparently Merlin's half-brother according a glance at google... Diane's namesake is a little harder to track down, but she's not directly Arthurian either from what I can gather. As far as I know the only Fairy who does align with Arthurian myth is Elaine, but the Elaine that's Ban's wife is not the only Elaine you'll find in Arthurian stories, it was a common name.

Anyway

Most people know the word "harlequin". Simply put it's a french clown.

-Oh and apparently also a duck XD

BUT

Not everyone who knows that, knows where the word comes from, or what the king of the Fairies would have it for a name.

The origin of the word is actually a lot older than the french clown concept and isn't actually french all the way back. here's what Google has to say;

"late 16th century: from obsolete French, from earlier Herlequin (or Hellequin ), the name of the leader of a legendary troop of demon horsemen; perhaps ultimately related to Old English Herla cyning ‘King Herla’, a mythical figure sometimes identified with Woden."

I actually learned this from a youtube video some years back, by Overly Sarcastic Productions. It's a Halloween episode discussing the concept of the "Wild Hunt". I highly recommend the video and the channel as a whole, they're really great, very funny and you learn a lot. The video is a little under 17 minutes long, though, so if you're only interested in the part relevant this analysis jump to 11:05 in the video.

For anyone who doesn't want to watch that and would rather read me summerize it, in the video it's explained that the Scandinavian version of the Wild Hunt is called "Odin's Hunt" but in Old English it's called "Herlaþing" which means "Herla's Assembly". Herla being a King of the Britons who makes a deal with a dwarf where the two attend each other's weddings. The dwarf is a perfect guest at Herla's wedding and the following year Herla goes to the dwarf kingdom to return the favor. When he leaves the dwarf gives him a hunting dog and warns him not to get off his horse till the dog does. When they get back the dog doesn't get off the horse, Herla asks a random person they pass how his wife is doing only to find out that 3 days in dwarfland = 300 years in humanland. Some of his men are shocked and get off their horses, only to age to dust when they touch the ground, so Herla is stuck riding his horse for eternity.

The concept of an eternal wander was popular and in the 11th century a french monk/chronicler used the phrase "Familia Herlequin" to describe a host of demons pursuing a monk, lead by a masked giant. This masked hunt leader would evolve into the character we now know as a "harlequin", a trickster character is french passion plays.

God, king and trickster presented as a fool, that actually kinda tracks, doesn't it?

And that, is why the king of the Fairies is named Harlequin.

Honestly Tom (Gadget), and Charlie (Time Shooter) are the easiest to ask this questions cause they are the quirkiests of the team..

Tom:

- He really doesn’t like lying, and hates doing so. Anytime he has to lie, or omit part of the truth, he grips on his pants or jacket/labcoat.

- He is very into sweets . He doesn’t eat them often, cause of his health. But, when he is sad, expect him to eat a lot of ice cream.

- Very romantic too. He always watched romantic movies, and read fanfiction. Still dreams about his bad boy from time to time.

- He is also into drawing and writting.

- (Not sure if low self-stem counts as quirk, but, he has it).

- His alignment is Social Good (it’s between Lawful Good and Neutral Good).

Charlie:

- Loves theater and music. Expect him to make a Hamilton reference, or to sing a sentence at least 15 times a day,

- Since he has a bit of future vision (he still hasn’t learned how to control it, so, at the moment it’s like in That’s so Raven), when he sees someone future, and it’s tragic, he usually changes his tone to something more ominous.

- Never has been in a relationship (and doesn’t want to, cause he is aroace), but it’s usually the best giving advice, be it for friendships, family ties, or Romance.

- His alignment is Chaotic Good.
