I love how it was Jonathan seeing Dracula crawl down the wall like a lizard that finally got him to lose it from the fear, not the manipulation, not coming to a realisation he’s a prisoner, just the fact there’s a guy crawling down a wall

I love how Jonathan immediately went to peek into Dracula's mail the minute he got the chance

Yeah! I do love that about Jonathan’s character, he is very resourceful!

Even when stuck at Dracula’s castle, even when he’s put up against a threat he does what he can and when he can to save himself. Be it writing down everything he can, just in case it’s of use later on (and it will be!), looking for any way in which he could possible escape, and as you’re saying anon, peeking into mail, gathering any information possible that might help him escape, he’s taking any chance he can to gain any upper hand against the Count.
