i may have just understood link click on a level i thought was impossible (i had a small epiphany that was probably obvious to everyone but me)
So. for context; sth that confused me for a while, is that the CXS deaths always happen in S1 fits, which are Gone after LG gets stabbed - so I thought that LG must have already succeeded delaying CXS' death, but then his reaction to Emma in 1x11 wouldn't make any sense (i.e. if he's already succeeded at delaying CXS' death by over a month why would he assume that Emma is "saved" in a matter of seconds?)
Additionally, the paper cutout style in 2x1 really seemed to hint a sort of "overwriting"? Which I thought meant it was originally CXS dying while LG was facing off against someone (that being vein, with yingdu knowledge).
BUT. "it seems that everything is changing" (2x1) !!! I've been looking at that line wrong.
SO new theory - he didn't delay it and he didn't mean that THIS exact moment was when CXS died and THAT is changing, but EVERYTHING is changing from now on.
so this whole plot is new to LG. the stab never happened in the timeline where vein kills CXS. that's why they still have their s1 fits (didn't have to discard them because of the blood) in CXS death scenes, and that's potentially why LG reacts to things in the ways he does starting 1x11. (tho those could just as well be trauma responses. He's very hard to read)
If that is really the case, this implies that 1x11 is potentially the first big divergence we've (and perhaps even LG has) seen (Yx1 with "everything happens the exact same").
I think this implies that when whatever they meddled with in Yingdu doesn't happen, that somehow leads Liu Xiao to kickstart the whole LTX and LTC (twins) thread.
+ anyway here's the 3 dates I grabbed for this thinkening:
22/10/2021 = 1x11, 2x1 - LG gets stabbed
13/09/---- = 2x12, Yx1 - CXS death + dives back
12/04/---- = Yx1, date LG returned to
next rewatch I'm making an excel sheet.

My Opinion On Every Single Bungou Stray Dogs Ship
Part Five- Het Ships V
This is the last one for m/f ships! I swear there should be more, but I guess as random as some pairings seem, people aren’t just pairing any woman with any man, because there’s lots of female characters who were not paired with many of the various male characters (for example, even though Yosano had a random ship with Mark, there was none with Tanizaki or Fukuzawa who are people she actually interacts with). This makes the ships I’ve seen so far more interesting because that means the random pairings were actually thought out by the people who ship them.
Part One, Two, Three, & Four
Tachigin/ Michizou Tachihara x Gin Akutagawa: The most popular m/f ship in this fandom. Which I will never understand. I understand why people ship them, but it being the most popular het ship is frankly ridiculous. Gin has like four lines and while we do know more about Tachihara he’s a side character through and through. It would make more sense for the most popular m/f ship to be characters that we know more about, who are more relevant to the plot, and who are more popular. Because I’ve seen the most popular character polls and neither of them make the cut, so how is their ship more popular than all the others? I believe part of it is the way the fandom views Gin (and it’s not a good thing) but I don’t want to get into that conversation. I think it’s an intriguing ship but I don’t care enough about it to be so invested in it. And I don’t understand others’ minds. And you know what? Even though I think this should be a four, I’m giving it a slightly lower score just because I’m petty and don’t like that it’s so popular. 3.5/10
Tumblr media
He’s pressing his gun up against her boob, no way he didn’t feel something.
Tachiguchi/ Michizou Tachihara x Ichiyo Higuchi: I haven’t seen this pairing outside of the ot3 of them with Gin. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I don’t really have an opinion on this. I don’t see it, it’s just there as a pairing of two people who work together. 2/10
Tachiguchi 2.0/ Shunzen Tachihara x Ichiyo Higuchi’s younger sister: What? Where are y’all coming up with these things? ?? 0/10
Tachiteru/ Michizou Tachihara x Teruko Okura: I’m sure before the age reveal this was a ship with a lively little fandom. I’ve never seen anyone mention this ship, but I’m interested in how y’all portrayed them in a romantic light. 2/10 EDIT: I saw that there was a translation error that made it seem like she was 12 years old but actually she was 12 when Fukuchi found her, which we don’t know the exact date because it said after the War, and the timeline is a little messy. But I do assume she’s an adult now, even if we don’t know how many years ago she was 12. (Asagiri please bring back the character info sheets 🙏🏽)
Tumblr media
Why is she so happy 🤣
Tachilucy/ Michizou Tachihara x Lucy Maud Montgomery: Uhh if you’re trying to ship Lucy with every redhead you should know he’s a fake ginger and all you skipped Oda and Chuuya. Also I don’t think their personalities would even mesh well. 1/10
Tanilucy/ Junichiro Tanizaki x Lucy Maud Montgomery: No. 0/10
Terusigma/ Teruko Okura x Sigma: Finally, a ship with someone she’s too old for! (Teehee) My answer is no and also this fandom is too infatuated with the idea of enemies to lovers or enemies and lovers 🙄 -1/10
Tumblr media
Tsujichuu/ Mizuki Tsujimura x Chuuya Nakahara: They met once, but I don’t know enough about her personality to say if they’d have chemistry. However, back in 2021 I remember seeing an ask someone sent in to one of y’all asking something like “do you think they hooked up” and instead of the OP saying “dude wtf” there was a genuine answer typed out on whatever possible relationship they had. So y’all are serious with this one for whatever reason. -/10
Tsujizai/ Mizuki Tsujimura x Osamu Dazai: Why? That’s a serious question. -/10
Vernwells/ Jules Gabriel Verne x Herbert George Wells: This is kinda funny, imo. But no. 0/10
Yuanzai/ Yuan x Osamu Dazai: I’ve been seeing more posts about this ship recently and it’s so confusing. Out of all the female characters y’all wanna make ship content with Dazai, you chose her?? Just ship him with an OC at this point. But she has cute pink hair (I refuse to acknowledge Teruko as having pink hair, the manga gave her a shade of red [as in actual red not orange] and I like that better for her) so I’ll give the ship half a point for that. 0.5/10

Not to dox myself but I want to list all the places I remember living now
The first place I remember living when i was 5/6 was a dilapidated terrace house in summer hill, sydney. I can't believe my mum could afford that. She worked part time as a receptionist during school hours. I am pretty sure it was a 1 bedroom which was mine and she converted the pantry or the laundry into her bedroom. Her bedroom was all brick wall and stone flooring I am pretty sure and she always had red and black sheets and smoked cigarettes in bed. I remember my sheets as well, she bought them with her first big paycheck, they were gingham with mermaids. I remember the backyard really clearly too. It had a little gate to our neighbours house who we loved.
The second place was a 2br house in dulwich hill, sydney. Vividly remember the living room, kinda the bedroom. The bedroom had this weird window/hole in the wall to the hallway so I didn't have privacy which was weird and the living room is where I liveddddd I begged to sleep on the sofa bed all the time and many memories of playing sims 1 here and watching rage all night and morning on the weekends.
Then we moved to melbourne when I was 7. We lived in a 2br seventies brick house in northcote. Again how did my mum afford this? Sold for $88k in the 80s and $1.3m in 2021 apparently. Really nice place and I remember it well because after we moved out my stoner dj uncle moved in and lived there for like 10 years or something. There was also such a neighbourhood vibe with street parties on halloween and christmas it was so cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then my mum started dating a guy who lived in the west so we moved to his house in yarraville. Don't think we lived there that long but it was nice, I think it had 3 bedrooms, and stone flooring in the kitchen with this big kitchen island. I had never had an island before.
Then we moved to a different place in yarraville and I don't remember this one either really. I was like 10 and remember the place I lived in when I was 5 better.
Ok then we move somewhere when I'm like 10/11 and I gained consciousness there so remember it like the back of my hand. 2br classic terrace house in kensington. I had a big beautiful bedroom right at the front with a fireplace. Super noisy because it was across from the train line. The kitchen and bathroom were renovated, it was a really nice fancy place to live, I loved it. There was this big open plan living and kitchen, with a little terrace backyard it opened up to. We had these little ponds with koi fish out there.

Complete Tour Tapings
When I started the list, I did so with the hope of finding some shows I considered important that I could burn onto CDs for myself and do some art and a manual to make it look "legit". as like a personal art thing. but the ultimate dream was to find some complete tours and then I could make a box set for myself.
I don't know why I have this dream of having an art project that looks like a real thing I could have bought in a store, but I do.
And it took a while to find some complete tours. There are some near-complete tours. Like, there's a tour only missing one show, there are tours that have a lot of partial tapings, and then there's the one tour that has almost all complete but one show where the recorder was off for like a third of it. (You know who you are. and I forgive you.)
I will talk more about what we almost have and what we don't have at another time, but since it's the holidays I wanna be thankful and talk about what I've found so far:
The earliest complete thing we have is the whole of 2020. Considering what was going on, that's not that impressive. But all three shows on stage and 7 digital performances are out there to listen to. Three of those digital performances are still on their original sources by the way. two radio appearances and one Instagram live. (This is not related to the content of the post but I know there are people who upload those kinds of things to YouTube, we gotta get things to other places or they might disappear)
Another complete thing is the robotic nebula tour 2021. This is the longest complete thing so far. This was 12 shows in September 2021. One thing that's kinda cool about this tour is that the first three shows are all in the same location. I'd love to see how the vibe changed over those three nights.
The next complete tour, which shouldn't count as a tour, is the Robotic Mosquito Dream Tour. which is a three-show mini-tour in 2021. Now, why do I say it shouldn't count as a tour? Because it's three shows at The Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina. Not only did John not have to drive out of his state, it wasn't even an hour out of Durham. If I make a fancy box set for myself for this tour, I'm calling it "the 30 minutes from my bed box". Though, the first show was the night after a three-hour trek back from a different show. So, I'd imagine it was a nice thing to have.
The most recent complete tour we have so far is the Winter Solo Tour 2024. A tour from this year. It's a four-show tour up the west coast. And like the title suggests it's a solo tour so just John up there.
I have yet to listen to these whole tours but the small ones seem like a good start. I can't give you a judgment on the sound quality.
But if you want to listen to these shows and don't know the purpose of this side-blog, I've made a Google sheet listing all the Mountain Goats' live appearances with links to where you can find the tapings. you can find that in my pinned post.
The show list is up to date, however, there may be tapings that are not linked that I don't know about yet. Hopefully, we will have more links to past tapings and more complete tours over time. Which would make this blog post out of date. wouldn't that be lovely?

Ariana Ptarcinski
On Christmas Eve, 2021, 18-year-old Ariana Ptarcinski was in her room with her 20-year-old boyfriend when she sustained a fatal knife wound to her neck. Now over a year later, the case remains under investigation and the young woman’s family and friends are calling for the resolution of the case. “Someone should be in jail,” Ariana’s father Ed Ptarcinski said.
Tumblr media
According to a Hernando County Sheriff’s Office report (HCSO) obtained on March 27 by the Hernando Sun from a friend of the Ptarcinski family, just after midnight on Dec. 25, 2021, deputies responded to a call from Thomas and Melissa LoBianco reporting that they heard screaming coming from the neighboring home of Ed and Judy Ptarcinski at 4054 Beaumont Loop in Spring Hill.
According to the report, the LoBiancos stated that they saw Ed Ptarcinski standing at the front walkway of his residence shouting, “You killed my daughter,” at a man later identified as then 20-year-old Ramon Durst.
Thomas LoBianco told responding deputies at the scene that he began to walk toward Ptarcinski and noticed that Durst, who was covered in blood, charging aggressively at Ptarcinski. LoBianco then used his flat fist to punch Durst on the side of his head. According to the report, LoBianco told deputies that Durst bent forward but did not fall. LoBianco then punched Durst a second time knocking him to the ground, according to his statements contained in the report.
“(He) the boyfriend kept saying ‘ I really (screwed) up, shoot me because I’m going to jail for a long time,’“ Ptarcinski told Hernando Sun.
Tumblr media
When they interviewed him at the scene, Ed Ptarcinski told deputies that after spending the evening with his family and with Durst who was in a relationship with Ariana for about 8 or 9 months, Ed and his wife Judy retired to the master bedroom. Shortly thereafter he got up to use the restroom and saw the entry door of their bedroom open and Durst holding Ariana by the hair saying, “I did this.”
At that time, Ed noticed that Ariana was bleeding from her neck which appeared to have been slit. He then began to scream for help, the report said.
According to Ed, personnel from the Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) subsequently arrived at the scene and transported her to the Trauma Center at Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson where she later died.
“I never saw her again until I went to the hospital to pull the plug,” Ptarcinski said.
Tumblr media
At the scene, deputies also “attempted” to speak with Judy who “was very hysterical,” and would not answer other questions, but said “Look what he did to my daughter.”
When they interviewed Ariana’s 12-year-old sister, she told deputies that she was in her room when she was awakened by arguing, but could not make out the exact words used in the argument. When she left her bedroom to see what was going on, she saw Durst carrying Ariana by her hair to her parent’s bedroom.
“Her jugular vein had been severed and she was bleeding out,” he said. “I could see her eyes saying ‘Dad help me,’” Ed Ptarcinski later told the Hernando Sun.
According to the HCSO report, deputies detained Durst and attempted to get his personal information. In response, Durst “would only provide his name, date of birth and address,” the report said.
Tumblr media
That address is in Stuart, Florida, according to a copy of Durst’s driver’s license, which was also provided to the Hernando Sun by a friend of the Ptarcinski family.
The Ptarcinski family and Durst were all taken to the HCSO for interviews. All were released without charge.“The boyfriend probably lawyered up,” Ed Ptarcinski said.
According to the report, deputies entered the front door of the residence to make sure no one was left inside. There an investigator noticed drops of “a red substance that appeared to by blood trailing from the northwest bedroom to the southeast master bedroom.”HCSO investigators later collected evidence at the scene.
According to Ptarcinski, much was overlooked. “They didn’t take a sheet with the boyfriend’s bloody handprints on it -There were two knives in the room – and his wallet,” Ptarcinski said. “I think they botched the investigation – I think they screwed it royally.”
In response, HCSO Media Relations Manager Denise Moloney disagreed.“We feel certain that the scene was processed very thoroughly,” she said. “We very thoroughly collected evidence and passed it onto SAO for a filing decision.”
According to Moloney, crime scenes are processed by having forensics specialists collect evidence who subsequently package it and pass it on to the States Attorney’s Office (SAO). It’s the SAO’s job to decide which if any charges should be made in connection with the case and against whom.
Tumblr media
“The SAO wants to make a case that will stand up to scrutiny by a jury in court,” Moloney said. “They want to make sure that the evidence warrants the charges so that a jury won’t throw the case out of court.”
The process takes time. “Both the HCSO and the SAO take our time to get justice for the victims and the survivors if justice is needed,” she said. “Everyone tries to do their best – it takes time.”
Currently, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ariana Ptarcinski‘s death remains open.“The case is still open, pending a filing decision by the SAO,” Moloney said. The SAO also confirmed that “the case is still under investigation.”
While the probe continues, Ed Ptarcinski and those familiar with the incident remain frustrated by the length of time it is taking to come to a resolution in the case. “I did everything they asked me to do – everything in my power in making statements, allowing searchers into my home,” Ptarcinski said. “Nothing is happening.”

In anticipation of City's eagerly awaited Champions League match tomorrow in Wankdorf (wonder if it has the same meaning in other languages?!!) ....... here are some match facts courtesy of TalkSport
Young Boys vs Man City: Match Facts
This is the first ever competitive meeting between Young Boys and Manchester City – the Swiss side won their most recent home against Premier League opposition, beating Man Utd 2-1 in the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League.
Manchester City's only previous meeting with Swiss opposition came in the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League – they won 4-0 away before losing 2-1 at home to Basel in the round of 16.
Young Boys have played more games in the UEFA Champions League without ever keeping a clean sheet than any other team (14). The Swiss side have conceded 29 times across their 14 matches, at an average of 2.1 per outing.
Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 15 matches in the UEFA Champions League (W10 D5), with only Manchester United ever having a longer run without defeat among English teams in European Cup/Champions League history (2 runs of 16, and a 25-game run between 2007 and 2009).
If Manchester City avoid defeat in this match, Pep Guardiola will equal his longest unbeaten run as a manager in the UEFA Champions League (currently 15 unbeaten). He went 16 games without defeat in charge of Barcelona between 2011 and 2012, in a run which also included lifting the trophy (beat Manchester United in the 2011 final).
Young Boys have averaged just 8.8 opposition passes per defensive action (PPDA) in the UEFA Champions League this season; the lowest of any team across the first two matchdays.
Manchester City have had 55 shots in their two UEFA Champions League games this season, while only facing six opposition shots in return. Indeed, that was the biggest differential for any side across the opening two matchdays, while they also had the best xG difference in terms of chances created and conceded (+5.2 – 6.4 xG for and 1.2 xG against).
Man City’s Julián Álvarez has been directly involved in four goals in two UEFA Champions League games this season (three goals, one assist); the most of any player in the first two matchdays. As well as being the joint top scorer in this period (3), no player created more chances than him (8) across the opening two rounds.
Filip Ugrinic has been directly involved in a goal in both of Young Boys’ games in the UEFA Champions League this season (one goal, one assist), while no player has ever done so in three consecutive appearances for the Swiss side in the competition.
Through the first two matchdays in the UEFA Champions League this season, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has the highest xG (1.95) of any player yet to score in the competition (12 shots, 0 goals). Indeed, his current run of five games without a goal in the Champions League is his longest to date.

In 1959, the United States began construction of a real-life version of the frozen Echo Base from The Empire Strikes Back. The plan for Camp Century was to test snow tunneling technologies in northwest Greenland, not far from the north pole, ostensibly for scientific research. Really, the US was flexing its military muscle, and may have been considering Project Iceworm, a way to hide 600 nuclear missiles in thousands of miles of snow tunnels across northern Greenland, close to the former Soviet Union. The island’s massive ice sheet had other ideas for Camp Century, though—ice shifts and flows, making this not a particularly ideal place to stash nukes or run the nuclear reactor that powered the base.
Iceworm never went anywhere, and the US closed Camp Century in 1966, leaving the tunnels to collapse. But before everyone fled, researchers did manage to dig up some actual scientific dirt, drilling a 4,550-foot-deep core into the ice sheet. When they hit earth, they drilled a further 12 feet, bringing up a plug of frozen sand, dirty ice, cobbles, and mud. The military moved that ice core from its own freezers to the University at Buffalo in the 1970s. The core ended up in Denmark in the '90s, where it was kept frozen, so that now it provides scientists with invaluable insight into ice ages past.
Nobody cared much about the sediment, though, until 2018, when it was rediscovered in cookie jars in a University of Copenhagen freezer. Now, an international team of researchers has analyzed that sediment, and made a major scientific discovery.
“In that frozen sediment are leaf fossils and little bits of bugs and twigs and mosses that tell us in the past there was a tundra ecosystem living where today there's almost a mile of ice,” says University of Vermont geoscientist Paul Bierman, coauthor of a new paper describing the finding in the journal Science. “The ice sheet is fragile. It can disappear, and it has disappeared. Now we have a date for that.”
Previously, scientists reckoned that Greenland iced over some 2.5 million years ago, and has been that way since. In 2021, Bierman and his colleagues determined that it was actually ice-free sometime in the past million years. Now, they’ve dated the tundra ecosystem captured in the Camp Century core to a mere 416,000 years ago—so northwestern Greenland couldn’t have been locked in ice then.
Scientists also know that at that time, global temperatures were similar or slightly warmer than what they are today. However, back then, atmospheric concentrations of planet-warming carbon dioxide were about 280 parts per million, compared to today’s 422 parts per million—a number that continues to skyrocket. Because humans have so dramatically and rapidly warmed the climate, we’re exceeding the conditions that had previously led to the wide-scale melting of Greenland’s ice sheet and gave rise to the tundra ecosystem. “It's a forewarning,” says Utah State University geoscientist Tammy Rittenour, a coauthor of the new paper. “This can happen under much lower CO2 conditions than our current state.”
That melting could be incredibly perilous. The new study finds that the Greenland ice melt 400,000 years ago caused at least 5 feet of sea level rise, but perhaps as much as 20 feet. “These findings raise additional concern that we could be coming perilously close to the threshold for collapse of the Greenland ice sheet and massive additional sea level rise of a meter or more,” says University of Pennsylvania climate scientist Michael Mann, who wasn’t involved in the research. Today, less than a foot of global sea level rise is already causing serious flooding and storm surge problems for coastal cities—and that’s without the potential for an additional 20 feet.
If Greenland melts again, it could reach a point of no return, relentlessly driving up sea levels as it does so. When an ice sheet melts, it exposes darker dirt beneath it, which absorbs more of the sun’s energy, raising local temperatures and driving more melting.
“If too much mass is lost and the elevation of the surface drops significantly, the resulting warming of the surface makes regrowth of the ice sheet more difficult,” says Pennsylvania State University geoscientist Richard B. Alley, who wasn’t involved in the research. “The new paper provides further evidence that even moderate sustained warmth will drive major melting in Greenland, forcing sea-level rise.”
Exactly how the Greenland ice sheet might degrade in the future is still unclear, and requires more research. Temperatures 400,000 years ago were similar to what they are today, but the natural warming that drove Greenland's melting back then happened gradually. Humans have quickly and dramatically warmed the planet since preindustrial times, and anthropogenic CO2 will stay in the atmosphere for thousands of years, unless people invent a way to remove it at large scale. We can also reduce temperatures. If we slash emissions, Mann says, Greenland’s ice sheet might remain stable.
So, how did this research team figure out that northwest Greenland was an ice-sheet-free tundra 400,000 years ago? The sediment from the Camp Century core was loaded with organic material, but it was way too old to examine by using carbon dating, which is only effective for periods up to 50,000 years back. “We pulled out little twigs and leaves, and we immediately sent them off radiocarbon dating, and they came back what we call ‘radiocarbon dead,’” says Rittenour. “There were no traces of radioactive carbon left in the sample.”
So instead, Rittenour used light—specifically the luminescence of bits of feldspar buried in the sediment. Free electrons build up in the minerals over time, producing a "luminescence signal." Exposure to sunlight essentially neutralizes this signal, but once these minerals became buried under thousands of feet of ice, the sun’s rays could no longer reach them, and the electron buildup recommenced. In a darkroom in the lab, Rittenour could peer into the Camp Century samples using infrared light. “We can use light of one wavelength, and we measure the luminescence coming off at a different wavelength,” says Rittenour. “The older the sample, the more luminescence it produces.” That allowed them to determine how long it had been since the feldspar in the sediment last saw sunlight.
To complement this, at the University of Vermont, Bierman looked at the mineral quartz in the samples for rare isotopes of beryllium and aluminum. “They're formed when cosmic rays, these really high energy particles, come zipping into Earth from beyond the solar system. And occasionally, they'll smack an element in the quartz grain,” says Bierman. “By looking at the ratio of those two isotopes, we can tell how long something's been buried away from those cosmic rays.” The result told them that this material had sat out on the landscape for less than 16,000 years.
Scientists are now racing to drill more ice cores in Greenland to gather more soil. Although the Camp Century core gives them the basis for modeling that they can use for estimations, with more cores, they can better work out how much of the island’s ice had disappeared and how quickly—and what that might presage about the ice sheet’s modern decline. “We now have definitive evidence that when the climate gets warm, the Greenland ice sheet disappears,” says Bierman. “And we've just started warming the climate.”
“We use the past to try to understand the future and understand the present,” Bierman continues. “And that makes the future a little frightening. Not that we should run from it—but to me, it's a call for action.”

DAY 4
Tumblr media
Date: April 11, 2024
Time: 12:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: 5 Kimber Street Studio, Paddington, New South Wales 2021
Participants: Francis, Zinnia, Sida
Overview:
Today's primary focus was on preparing promotional materials for next week's exhibition——Daylight Moon in Canberra, including the design and print of posters and room sheets, which led to the creation of a studio working template and workflow.
Chronological Record:
- 12:00 PM - 12:20 PM: Introduction to Funding
  - Francis introduced me and shared tips to websites for obtaining funding, such as NSW Government Small Projects Grants, Screen NSW, Verge Gallery, Creative Australia.
- 12:20 PM - 2:30 PM: Indesign AVALON series Layout Design
  - Refined and modified the layout designs for two photo collections.
- 2:30 PM - 2:45 PM: Break
- 2:45 PM - 5:30 PM: Poster Design
  - Designed a poster for Francis's exhibition "Daylight Moon" next week and printed it.
  - Designed posters for Francis and Zinnia's exhibitions next year, "Avalon" and "On the Loose."
Skills Learned and Application:
While my previous work primarily involved digital media, today's internship allowed me to experiment with different paper types, printing techniques, and printers. The tactile quality of printed materials surpasses even high-quality electronic screens, and the differences in printing techniques' effects are significant. Sometimes, printed results may not be as vibrant as digital versions, possibly due to printer and settings issues. For important prints such as large-size artworks, specific color requirements, or special paper textures, seeking assistance from professional printing services is advisable. Even for seemingly minor items like flyers in physical exhibitions, printing plays a crucial role, not an area to cut costs. However, the harsh reality is that printing is also a part of studio cost control. Through our experiments, we found that copying instead of direct printing can speed up the printing process, especially for bulk printing, and make it easier to control color density.

Analysis of Interviews and Events:
I discussed with Francis strategies for obtaining funding from government and unions. Government grants for purchasing safety equipment are often overlooked by many studios. Another useful tip is to utilize online consultation sessions before submitting applications, where you can present your work ides to officials to gather feedback and establish connections, increasing your chances of success. While there are grants available for international applicants, many projects focus on Australian citizens only. Collaborating with citizen artists or excluding non-citizen artists' names from applications can be useful. Francis focuses more on fine arts applications, while I lean towards screen-related ones, both of which have lengthy application timelines, requiring early preparation. Overall, understanding each application's requirements and timelines is crucial for success.
Reflections on Experiences:
In summary, the studio's project efficiency significantly improved today due to our established workflow among the three of us. Francis and Zinnia handle textual content and find reference styles, which I then layout, integrate, print, and revise. An interesting observation was made by Francis regarding last week's layout design, where the lack of renaming or numbering photos wasted time during image searches. This week, he thoughtfully added simple numbering to the photos. Going forward, especially as our material accumulates, a comprehensive, standardized, and clear naming system is essential. This not only helps me quickly access the necessary files but also facilitates file handoffs among the three of us and collaboration with other departments such as printing companies, news departments, gallery managers, and so on.
Next week, the internship will pause as Francis begins an exhibition in Canberra. During this break, I will start drafting my essay and organize the internship blog up to this point.

What will the textile recycling boom be like in 2025 and where will used clothes go to?
Tumblr media
Koopera textile recycling plant in Ribaroja (Valencia) where used clothing is separated for recycling.
Fashion brands will have to get involved in the collection of used garments in their stores, they will not be able to throw away the surplus and they will have to create consortiums to manage their waste
We have acquired the reflex that the glass goes to the green container; plastic, to yellow and cardboard, to blue. But we keep throwing clothes into the waste bin. In Spain, some 900,000 tons of clothing are discarded per year, and 88% ends up in landfills, according to the report Analysis of the collection of used clothing in Spain[1]. The other 12% goes to clothing containers and, from there, to modern plants that select the garments —even those in poor condition— and reuse or recycle them. The new waste law[2]  imposes that in 2025 the town halls —also the small ones— will have to collect textile waste separately, which is why there will be a boom in clothing containers in the streets: Madrid and Malaga, for example, are going to duplicate those installed. Fashion brands will also have to get involved in the collection of used garments in their stores, they will not be able to throw away the surplus —so second-hand options will grow— and they will have to create consortiums to manage their waste[3]. These are the changes that the new recycling challenge will bring.
“In two years, a system must be installed in all cities so that citizens can deposit textile waste, which in addition to clothing includes towels, sheets, upholstery… In fashion stores you can leave used clothing, and we will see the number of containers for clothes that are on the streets  multiply", summarises Enric Carrera, director of the Textile Research and Industrial Cooperation Institute of Terrassa (Intexter) [4]  of the Polytechnic of Catalonia (UPC). “However, the challenge is not so much to collect, as what to do with it, because Africa is beginning to not want European used clothing anymore in order to develop its own industry, and with the new law it is no longer allowed to burn surplus production, so that these 900,000 tons can become 1.2 million that will have to be treated. We are facing a challenge of a spectacular magnitude”, he continues.
Used clothing collection systems

Containers on public roads; containers in parishes, schools and shopping centers; fixed clean point; mobile clean point
Collection of textile waste, according to the operator. In total, 108,296 tons are collected, barely 12% of the 900,000 per year that end up in landfills.
Tumblr media
For now, most cities allow clothing containers from social organisations to be placed on their streets, although some town halls are beginning to also install municipal collection points. Some examples: Madrid now has 770 containers and by the end of the year it intends to reach 1,600, while Malaga will double the current 233. Vigo had 50 and increased them to 300 last year, anticipating the regulations. According to the Analysis of the collection of used clothing in Spain, prepared by Mode re-[5]  (Cáritas entity) in 2021 and the most complete to date, there are currently some 21,000 of them in Spain, most of which (more than 19,500) are in the public space and belong to social entities, although there are also some (more than 1,500) in parishes and shopping centres, to which are added some 700 municipal clean points.
Their number will grow a lot. "In the next two years the streets are going to be flooded with textile containers, we are already beginning to see it in some cities, but it will reach all of them," says Manuel León, coordinator of Mode re- (Cáritas entity). It is very difficult to specify how much they can grow, but if you want to go from the current 12% to 30%, you would have to triple them at least. The same report (which will be updated this year) indicates that some 108,000 tons per year reach the current network, about 19 kilos per person per year —the Ministry of Ecological Transition[6] does not have different data.
The road to reuse
Where does the shirt or pants deposited in these containers go? In general, to one of the five large textile recycling centres that now exist in Spain. A visit to one of them, the one owned by Koopera[7]  in Valencia, allows us to understand the process followed by used clothing on its way to reuse. Trucks and vans arrive every day at the huge warehouse in Ribarroja de Turia[8] — which annually manages 6,000 tons of used clothing from more than 700 collection points — with the garments collected in the Cáritas containers, which they deposit in bags in a kind of big container.
From there they are sent to a long conveyor belt that elevates them towards a yellow industrial structure inside which there are several rooms with a separation line. "We classify each garment according to various parameters: the season, the quality, the gender...", explains Emi Carmona, coordinator of this social enterprise. In each cabin there are two people, a tutor and a social integration apprentice; first, they hit a button to bring up clothes; then, they pass each item through a machine with software that helps perform that first screening. "Woman, dress, summer," says one of the apprentices. "Pants, jeans, boy," says another. Once the magic words have been pronounced, a strong mechanical breath sends the garment to another conveyor belt, which will deposit it in one of the more than 60 baskets that await the end of this process.
"The highest quality clothing (over 10%) is sold in our Moda re- stores," explains Carmona. "The one with less quality but in good condition is exported to countries in Africa and the Middle East (70%). There is a third option that is to separate the clothes into threads (where another 10% ends up), which is called spinning; For this we have a machine that checks the composition of the clothes with a laser, and it has a success rate of 99%”, she continues.
What happens to the one that is useless for any of these things? “About 10% of what comes to us is incinerated and converted into energy, it is what is called energy revaluation”, continues the coordinator. In any case, it is important that all textile waste, even the one that is in poor condition, is thrown into the used clothing container to go through this process. In Koopera they also have another manual line, where they separate and classify clothes, but also shoes and accessories. “So we can classify more clothes. The shoes can be sent to the store, and we even take advantage of loose pairs, which in Africa are used to make products such as bags”, continues Carmona.
"All the plants that exist right now in Spain consist of manual treatment, but this is going to change very soon," predicts Igor González, president of Ecotextil[9] —an association that advises fashion brands on recycling. “There are companies that have asked for Next Generation European funds to start much more advanced plants,”[10] he points out. They can be from mechanical selection of the clothing, or from physical separation of the components (by composition of the garment) or even chemical (to break up the fibres)[11]. The expert Enric Carrera explains that the physical separation involves grinding the garment to obtain threads, "although the result is still of medium-low quality", while the chemistry consists of dissolving the threads and then regenerating them. “It's still a very expensive process,” he admits.

Tumblr media
González considers that, with the new norm, the fashion brands themselves will have to encourage the development of treatment plants that help to reuse and recycle clothes. "The producers will assume this expense with a fee, and they will have to finance the collection and treatment." In fact, seven major brands —Decathlon, H&M, Ikea, Inditex, Kiabi, Mango and Tendam— have just created the Association for Textile Waste Management[12], an entity that by 2025 must manage its waste within the principle whoever pollutes, pays. It is a figure similar to Ecoembes[13], that brings together packaging manufacturers to collect their own garbage. The other fashion companies must join this association or create different ones.
Changes in clothing stores
Until that time arrives, companies are already adapting. Mango, for example, has placed textile collection containers in all its stores and sends what it receives precisely to Koopera, an example that other brands are also following —such as El Corte Inglés[14]— and which will be mandatory in 2025. Meanwhile, Primark[15] encourages its customers to donate unwanted clothing at its own facilities, and aims to have all its clothing made from recycled materials "or more sustainably sourced" by 2030.
Another novelty of the law is the prohibition of destroying unsold clothing surpluses, a very common practice in fashion. Inditex[16], the parent company of Zara, donates its surplus garments to non-profit insertion stores and social entities such as UNHCR[17], the Red Cross and Cáritas[18], while El Corte Inglés distributes them to more than 60 NGOs. In fact, virtually all of the major brands in the industry have or are planning similar endowment arrangements.
This will translate into a boom in second-hand textiles, since more and more new unused garments will arrive at the same time that the collection of used ones will increase. Moda re-, for example, has 120 stores in 84 Spanish cities, but it has also opened 20 used clothing spaces in different Alcampo supermarkets[19], a company that in turn donates its surplus to Moda re-. Meanwhile, Humana[20] has almost fifty establishments, some of them vintage to attract the younger public, which is no longer considering used clothing as tacky and increasingly sees it as something 'cool'[21].
"These stores allow us to dignify social delivery," says Manuel León, from Moda re-. “Before, whoever needed it, would go to his parish and they would give him a bag with clothes, which he could use or not. Now, these people are given a check for an amount that they can redeem at our stores, so they go to one of our stores, choose what they want, and cash that coupon. Others do not have to know if you pay with money or something else, and also vulnerable people can choose what suits them best ”, he continues.
Tumblr media

Another trend will be to mend the garments. “Arranging clothes is subversive. It is interesting that we buy, get tired of it and buy again. Rehabilitation implies self-sufficiency, concentration and patience”, points out Marta D. Riezu, author of La moda justa (Anagrama, 2021)[22], who advocates mending old clothes as a way of “dressing ethically”. The perception of traditional patches, seen until now as something for the poor, is also changing and is already reaching the world of fashion: Zara, for example, has launched a platform that offers repair services for its garments, sales between individuals and donations. , and other brands test similar programs. Igor González sums it up like this: “The best clothes are the ones that are used again, and we have to work to do it more and more”.

Robert Triggs / Android AuthoritySony launches the Xperia 1 sequence of flagship telephones yearly, providing a high-end, premium-priced expertise. 2023 noticed the Japanese big ship maybe its most compelling Xperia 1 machine but within the Xperia 1 IV. However what ought to we anticipate from the 2023 machine? Right here’s every part we all know and assume we all know in regards to the Sony Xperia 1 V. Will there be a Sony Xperia V?Sony has supplied an Xperia 1 sequence flagship Android telephone yearly since 2019, so we now have no cause to consider that the corporate will cease in 2023. The model’s cell division additionally seemingly turned a nook in 2021, making a quarterly revenue for the primary time since 2017. You subsequently must assume that the corporate is dedicated to launching the Xperia 1 V with the intention to proceed this comparatively current run of business success. The Japanese big hasn’t confirmed the Xperia V launch simply but, nevertheless it is likely to be a bit too early for that affirmation to be forthcoming. Extra on that beneath. What's the Sony Xperia 1 V launch date?Robert Triggs / Android Authority Sony Xperia 1 — February 25, 2019 Sony Xperia 1 II — February 24, 2020 Sony Xperia 1 III — April 14, 2021 Sony Xperia 1 IV — Could 11, 2023 Sony tends to be in all places on the subject of truly revealing Xperia 1 sequence handsets. The primary two gadgets had been revealed in late February, whereas the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 1 IV had been revealed in Q2.We’re guessing that Sony will skip a MWC 2023 reveal for the Xperia 1 V, because the occasion is only a few weeks away on the time of writing and we haven’t seen any teasers from the corporate simply but. So we’d anticipate a reveal between March and Could. However Sony has a popularity for making shoppers wait a very long time between the reveal and the on-sale date. For instance, the Xperia 1 V arrived in some nations on June 16 (slightly below a month after the reveal) however solely hit the US on September 1. The Xperia 1 III was unveiled on April 14 however solely landed within the US on August 19. In different phrases, don’t be stunned if it's a must to wait a month or 5 after the reveal till the precise Xperia 1 V launch date. What options and specs will the Xperia 1 V have?Robert Triggs / Android Authority The Xperia 1 sequence is among the many most feature-packed smartphones of the 12 months, so we’re anticipating a formidable spec sheet this time. Right here’s what we expect we all know in regards to the Xperia 1 V specs, primarily based on leaks and former releases. Design An obvious Sony Xperia 1 V picture was leaked earlier this month through a Weibo person, and it means that Sony is sticking with the identical elementary design because the earlier handset. Which means what seems to be a matte glass again and a plain, vertically stacked rear digicam system. Try the leaked image beneath. The picture doesn’t give us a full concept of what to anticipate from a design perspective, nevertheless it undoubtedly suggests extra of the identical. So these hoping for a drastic overhaul is likely to be upset right here. Specs Maybe probably the most notable Xperia 1 characteristic is the 4K/120Hz OLED display, and we’re anticipating the Xperia 1 V to supply this show once more. This implies you'll be able to truly view 4K content material in native 4K in your telephone. Our fundamental grievance with the Xperia 1 IV and III was that the telephone didn’t provide a dynamic refresh price. You had been both caught with 60Hz on a regular basis or 120Hz on a regular basis, so hopefully a dynamic possibility is added that routinely switches between varied refresh charges as wanted. Sony's monitor file suggests a 4K 120Hz display is a lock for the Xperia 1 V. As is the case with many high-end Android telephones in 2023, we’re anticipating the Sony Xperia 1 V to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. So that you shouldn’t have any complaints about gaming efficiency or efficiency generally if so.
Both method, we’re cautiously optimistic that the Xperia 1 IV’s disappointing sustained efficiency and efficiency generally might be a factor of the previous. We additionally hope the telephone doesn’t run as sizzling as final 12 months’s handset. Different Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 telephones appear to do an honest job of warmth dissipation, however a telephone’s design, inner cooling methods, and software program tuning all play a component right here. So we’ll simply have to attend and see.Robert Triggs / Android AuthorityOne of many prime causes to purchase a Sony smartphone is for the digicam expertise, with Sony’s previous few Xperia flagships providing professional digicam apps and extra. We’re subsequently anticipating these professional apps to make a return.Sony has additionally doggedly caught to a triple 12MP digicam system for a number of generations now, so don’t be stunned if we see the identical digicam resolutions this 12 months. However the firm might want to provide a higher-resolution fundamental digicam if it decides to undertake 8K video recording on the brand new telephone. The Xperia 1 IV stood out from the pack due to its use of a 12MP variable telephoto digicam, able to switching from 3.5x all the way in which as much as 5.2x. One specific rumor factors to Sony providing a slim variable periscope digicam module from LG able to constantly zooming from 4x to 9x. The aforementioned picture leak additionally reveals a triple rear digicam system with a periscope digicam. So it appears to be like like a periscope shooter is on board on the very least. The 2023 Xperia additionally delivered due to an enormous battery, nice audio, wi-fi charging, and IP68 ranking. It subsequently appears logical that we’ll see these options return on the Xperia 1 V. What's going to the Sony Xperia 1 V value be?Robert Triggs / Android Authority Sony Xperia 1 II — $1,199.99 Sony Xperia 1 III — $1,299 Sony Xperia 1 IV — $1,599 You solely want to have a look at the worth pattern above to appreciate that the Sony Xperia 1 V will seemingly price an arm and a leg. The Japanese agency has embraced a premium technique to its smartphones, prioritizing excessive costs and a premium expertise over a volume-driven method. The pattern of value will increase from 12 months to 12 months means that the Xperia 1 V would possibly even be dearer than the $1,600 Xperia 1 IV. However we additionally wouldn’t be stunned if the corporate sticks with the present (nonetheless super-expensive) value level. If one factor is definite with fashionable high-end Sony telephones, it is that they're going to be very costly. In different phrases, you shouldn’t maintain your breath for the Xperia 1 V to dip beneath the $1,000 mark and even match the Galaxy S23 Extremely‘s $1,200 price ticket.Nonetheless, if Sony can repair the place it went mistaken with final 12 months’s telephone (efficiency, zoom high quality, fashionable digicam modes, software program updates) whereas enhancing its strengths, then we might be in for an excellent expertise. Sony Xperia 1 V: What we wish to see An extended-term replace pledge Sony has at all times upset on the subject of replace commitments, with the Xperia 1 IV solely providing a measly two main OS updates and three years of safety patches. That’s completely mediocre in 2023 when Google, OnePlus, Samsung, and others are providing far longer Android replace insurance policies. We’re subsequently holding out for Sony to carry a long-term replace pledge to the Xperia 1 V. This isn’t simply because it’s a flagship Android telephone, but additionally as a result of the telephone is anticipated to price $1,200 or extra. By comparability, even Samsung’s $300 telephones outlast Sony’s flagship telephones for software program updates. Upgraded variable telephoto digicamRobert Triggs / Android AuthorityThe Xperia 1 III actually blazed a path with its variable telephoto digicam, able to switching between 2.9x and 4.4x however not truly stopping at any interstitial zoom ranges.
Sony fastened this downside with the Xperia 1 IV, providing a variable telephoto shooter with steady zoom capabilities. The primary difficulty with this present variable digicam is that it presents a comparatively slender zoom vary (3.5x to five.2x). So we’d wish to see the corporate providing a wider zoom vary, doubtlessly delivering 9x or 10x optical zoom. This manner, the Galaxy Extremely vary can have some competitors on its arms on the subject of long-range zoom. Extra launch markets Sony retreated from a bunch of locales in 2018, selecting to stay with the likes of North America, Europe, and Asia. You had been subsequently out of luck for those who wished to purchase a Sony telephone in Latin America, Africa, the Center East, and India. The corporate’s present technique appears to be paying dividends, so we will’t anticipate the corporate to return to an enormous geographical footprint. However we’d undoubtedly wish to see a number of extra markets return to the desk so extra fans can simply purchase the Xperia 1 V. What do you wish to see from the Sony Xperia 1 V?15 votesLengthy-term software program updates67%Higher variable telephoto digicam33%Extra launch markets0%Feedback #Sony #Xperia

New Lease Accounting Standard
After a delay of many years, the new lease standard (FASB ASC Topic 842) finally became effective in 2022. The system seeks to ensure more transparency in financial statements for all organizations – from government organizations to public companies and private non-profit firms. The annual reporting period of this starts on or after January 1, 2019. New standards will likely impact almost every industry-public and private. We’ve created this guide to educate our readers and clients about the New Lease Accounting Standard, it’s types and benefits, etc. You can also find out internal revenue service San Bernardino for better understanding. Let’s continue reading:
What are The New Lease Accounting Standards?
FASB issues new lease accounting standards - ASC 842, or Topic 842.It governs how private and public entities record the financial impact of their lease agreements. According to ASC 842, leases are contracts granting control of identifiable assets for a fixed period in exchange for payment. Now, all public and private organizations need to report under US GAAP to record their leases on the balance sheet. This will increase the transparency into liabilities resulting from leasing agreements and reduce off-balance sheet activities.
Effective dates of ASC 842 for public companies
FASB's new lease accounting standard becomes effective for reporting periods starting after December 15, 2018. The new standard went into effect for calendar-year-end businesses on January 1, 2019.
Effective dates of ASC 842 for private companies
ASC 842 is effective for the annual reporting periods of private companies and non-profit organizations starting after December 15, 2021. This implies that many private organizations are working through the lease accounting transition for the 2022 year-end.
Changes Under ASC 842
ASC 842has made one of the biggest changes to accounting standards in recent years. As a result, company executives and accounting professionals must be aware of the proper implementation of the new lease accounting standards. Here are the changes under ASC 842:
All lease contracts (operating and finance) with a period of more than 12 months should be recognized under the lease on the balance sheet.
Organizations must add all leases on the balance sheet as a right-of-use asset with a lease liability.
Since there will be lease assets and liabilities for all leases, attention will shift to whether or not arrangements are leased.
Segregating lease and non-lease (e.g., service) components will be a new important process in a lease contract.
For sale/leaseback accounting, more transactions will be involved due to the elimination of continuing involvement rules.
Equipment sale/leasebacks may not qualify for sale/leaseback accounting if the equipment sale/leaseback has a disqualifying repurchase option.
Require disclosure of qualitative and quantitative information about lease transactions, including variable lease payments and options to renew or terminate leases
Types of Leases Under ASC 842
With the replacement of GAAP standard ASC 840 with ASC 842, the FASB changed the way of execution of lease accounting. Before the amendments, leases were either capital or operating, but with the new standard, there are two types of leases – finance and operating. Finance Leases: Leases that are similar to the purchase of underlying assets are classified as finance. It essentially treats as an asset if the lessee purchases it but is financed by the lessor. This prevents organizations from hiding the financial obligations that are liabilities. Operating Leases: Operating leases are lease contracts with no purchase of the underlying asset. These are used for the limited-term leasing of assets and include traditional renting relationships. You can always invest in trucking accounting services to know more.

01.02.21-07.02.21
This week was a little better in the sense that I got back to studying, although it is just 3 hours per day. My social anxiety at having to attend maths tuitions is at an all time high, I have a class day after tomorrow and heart is already doing weird things. Also, I finally went back to school and it felt soooo good. Loved seeing that building again. Also, CBSE finally released the boards datesheet and I'm going to rant about it in another post because I have to.
