CHAINSAW MAN CHAPTER 115 SPOILERS
A really underappreciated trait that Denji has is how willing he is to put the past beind him. He didn't hold a grudge against Power for trying to kill him, Aki after they fought during their first patrol, still loved Makima after all she did, had no issue with Kobeni who said it would have been better if he died during their first encounter with the eternity devil, and probably more I forgot.
Even in the most recent chapter here he is going to check in on Mitaka. Even if I doubt that he's checking on her due to concern, it's not really something someone who holds a grudge would do.

Desperate for another shot of the outcast Punk, I scoured the internet wide and far, looking for those damn CFFC 115 prelims. They are not on fight pass. They are copyright claimed on youtube. Yes, worldwide. I checked. By now, a week later, I’ve almost given up, but at last I found the stream on twitter.

Today is my birthday, so I thought I would share photos that I got recently and I'm very happy to have. These pictures have not been seen in this fine condition by almost anyone, (One was reproduced on the wall at the Paris show) and the top studio shot for years was only known to me in black and white.
𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗞𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗢 222 Bowery, Lower east side, Manhattan 📸 Herbert Matter © Herbert Matter Estate/ Stanford University. Libraries. Department of Special Collections and University Archives Artworks-© 2024 Kate Rothko Prizel & Christopher Rothko Artist Rights Society (ARS), New York
I don't have an official list of the paintings in these photographs I believe I recognize most of them, so these are my guesses:
Photo one and three- on the far left, partially obscured, No. 15, 1957, Oil on canvas
To the right of that- No. 12 (Black on Dark Sienna on Purple), 1960, Oil on canvas 120 1/8 × 105 ¼ in.
Continuing on the left side we have- No.8 (Gray, Orange and Maroon),1960
In the back up against the wall- No. 7, 1960, a painting that Rothko was famously photographed with by two different photographers
In the foreground- No. 21 (Untitled), 1949 Oil and mixed media on canvas 94 × 53 3/8 in. (238.8 × 135.6 cm)
To the right of that and leaning up against the wall is Untitled, No 11 / No 20, 1949 Oil on canvas, 238,1 × 134,9 cm
The partially obscured red painting on the back wall to the right I do not recognize. But if anybody does, please let me know.
Picture two-No 61 (Rust and blue), 1953, Oil on canvas, 115 cm × 92 cm (45 in × 36 in)

How tall are slugcats
Little warning that the drawing and measurements mentioned probably won't match up perfectly. In my headcanons, a fully grown average scug is about 60cm; a pup half of their parents, so 30 cm, and arti's pups about 50cm; Spearmaster a bit bigger with 75cm; Saint is around the same size; Rivulet is longer, maybe around 80 cm, but still small; now Hunter is when we get to the bigger scugs, with 95 cm; next one is Arti with 110 cm and finally we have gourmand, with 115 cm.

As a bonus: Pebbles would be 120 cm, Moon 140 cm, and Ancients 200 cm!

Manticore
The Manticore, derived from the Early Middle Persian merthykhuwar or martiora, meaning "man-eater" (also known as a mantichora or a martichore), is a fearsome hybrid creature found in classical and medieval literature. It has the body of a lion, the head of a man and a scorpion tail that can shoot poisonous darts.
The manticore is one of the most bizarre and ferocious creatures depicted throughout classical and medieval bestiaries. Its roots can be traced back to India and Persia (modern-day Iran). The myth of the manticore spreads over several centuries and is mentioned most famously by Ctesias (5th century BCE), Pliny the Elder (23-79 CE) and Pausanias (c. 115 to c. 180 CE).
Appearance & Characteristics
The earliest known mention of the manticore comes from the Greek historian and physician Ctesias in his Indica (written in the 5th century BCE). Although the Indica is now lost to time, fragments of Ctesias' work exist in other authors' writings, and we have a clear description of the manticore. According to Pliny the Elder in his Natural History:
Ctesias writes that amongst these same men there is found an animal called the Mantichora which has three rows of teeth like a comb, the face and ears of a human, and bluish eyes. It is red in colour with the body of a lion and a tail with stingers like a scorpion. Its voice is as if the sounds of the pipe were mixed with a trumpet and it is a creature of great speed which avidly goes after human flesh. (8.75)
Pliny's account of the manticore influenced later writers. He seemed to give the monster a basis in reality as he was considered the expert on strange and marvellous creatures for hundreds of years.
The morphology of the manticore was believed to have developed from its environment – the rugged and barren landscape of the Indian and Middle Eastern deserts. It needed to be fierce and to have weapons at its disposal to be able to catch its prey and prevent being caught by predators. Initially preying on animals like pigs and mountain goats, the manticore began to be lured to villages by the livestock it was hunting and inevitably began to attack and feed on humans, establishing the lore of the man-eating manticore.
The manticore would famously leave no trace of its prey behind. It could attack a human up close with its sharp claws or shoot poisonous darts from its scorpion tail from a safe distance. When it unleashes the poisonous darts from its tail, the tail either bends back or stretches out. Roman writer Aelian (175-235 CE) states that "whatever it hits, it kills, with the exception of elephants" (Characteristics of Animals, 4.21). The poisonous stingers are described as being thick as a rope and one foot (30 cm) in length. Once a stinger has been discharged, another one grows in its place.
Manticores did not just satisfy their appetites by killing one human but would chase after multiple people at a time, taking great pleasure in the hunt. Its favourite way to lure and hunt prey was to hide its body in the long grass, so from a distance, all humans would be able to see would be a human head. Deceived by this, humans would get close to the manticore, and before they knew what was happening, they would be attacked and killed. This showed how cunning and clever the manticore was. Although humans were undoubtedly a manticore's preferred prey, they would also regularly hunt the animal kingdom, except for lions which they could never overpower.
In order to stop the manticores' aggressive nature, the Indians would hunt baby manticores and smash their tails with rocks to prevent them from growing and shooting their poisonous darts and thus taking away their ability to harm humans from a great distance. Manticores lived in burrows deep under the ground where they could hide from their prey and avoid being seen by humans.

Phantom Troupe Headcanon
CW: eating disorder
Kind of a sad headcanon, but I always had the assumption that a good chunk of the Spiders may have eating disorders, especially with Pakunoda and Feitan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Paku, I can't tell if it was one of those beauty standards sexism situations about women almost always getting listed under 120 pounds (54.4 kg) despite their height. But if it was intentional, Pakunoda is six foot (182 cm) and only 115 lb (52 kg). She is in fact drawn to be very thin, and in the 2011 anime and manga it doesn't appear she wears heels, so she is really THAT tall. I worry for her.
Tumblr media
Then we have Feitan, who while his height and weight are nothing alarming, but the reveal of him possibly having mysophobia does imply other things. It's actually fairly common for people with mysophobia to develop eating disorders. On top of that, Feitan is one of the members who believes buying stuff is against the ways of the Spiders.
Going out of your way to steal food may be an annoying hassle for him, he doesn't seem like the type who enjoys eating even before the reveal. Might also explain why he's sometimes sluggish in battle.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Chrollo or Bonolev are people who also need to eat more... But, my headcanon is that I think Pakunoda and Feitan might have an eating disorder. Something of which might be incorporated into my fics.
