Andrew more than makes up for his performance in the time that follows.

The two of them lay in the afterglow of Andrew’s award winning performance and Andrew knows that they’ll be okay. That despite it all Neil’s still the person that he wants to spend the rest of his life with, the one that makes him feel settled in his own body the way he never does when he’s alone.

Andrew pulls Neil close, ignoring how their skin sticks slightly uncomfortably due to the sweat and rests his forehead against Neil’s, “We’re staying together.”

Neil’s eyes somehow warm further, “I don’t want to be apart ever again.” he confirms.

The "Sea of Crises" was the site of the crash-landing of the Soviet Luna 15 probe in 1969, although a few years later they had better success, returning a sample of the Moon in 1976 with Luna 24.

Fun fact: the Apollo 11 astronauts joked about this name as they were orbiting around the Moon. From the official transcript:

Apollo 11: The Sea of Fertility Doesn't look very fertile to me. I don't know who named it. Apollo 11: Well, it may of been named by - a gentleman whom this crater was named after, Langrenus. Langrenus was a cartographer to the King of Spain and made one of the early reasonably accurate maps of the Moon. NASA: Roger, that is very interesting - Apollo 11: At least it sounds better for our purposes than the Sea of Crises. NASA: Amen to that.

“Even when our instinct is to rescue those we love, our wisest course is to trust God and obey His direction.”

“When we read about the Prodigal Son, our focus is usually on God’s amazing love, demonstrated by the father. We delight in knowing that He responds to us the same way when we stray from Him. But today, let’s look at the parable to see what it teaches about our responsibility to love others.

• Let go. The father had every right to refuse his second son’s foolish request, but he understood that the young man had already left home in his heart. There may be times when the most loving thing we can do is also the most difficult—to let a loved one go. When we try to control the outcome, we may actually get in God’s way.

• Wait. Once we’ve let go, we must then wait patiently for God to do His work in that person’s life. Did you notice the father didn’t go to search for his son? He chose to trust God instead of trying to fix the situation and prevent the inevitable hard consequences of the prodigal’s unwise behavior.

The only way you can respond like this is to have confidence in the Lord’s good plans (Psalms 56:3-4). He loves the other person more than you can know and understands the best way to reach him or her. Your job is to watch and pray until God brings the prodigal home.”
