.
I walk a lot in Paris and have been averaging 10,000+ daily steps each month since the beginning of the year; but while I, for sure, reach it and more during the week I'm a little more lazy on the weekend.
So for November, part of my Gratitude Month of being able to walk the street of Paris on a daily basis, I decided I would walk at least 10,000 steps every single day of the week. Some days when the rain wouldn’t stop I had to dig deep inside me to go for a stroll but it has now been a #MissionAccomplished.
I did a little research about the 10,000-steps a day "myth".
The concept of taking 10,000 steps a day to maintain health is rooted not in science but in a marketing gimmick. In the 1960s a company in Japan invented an early pedometer, because the Japanese character for "10,000" (一万 ) looks like a person walking, the company called its device the 10,000-step meter.
And so while it might have originated as a marketing gimmicks it makes me explore the city because I want those steps. *For health, researchers found 7,000 to 8,000 daily steps was beneficial.

I need to exercise more but I staunchly resent lifting dumbbells and doing pushups. Doesn't someone need hay to load or a ceramic vessel to pour

Ok. I will read some Rob Roy, then go for a walk.
Also new favorite activity unlocked: Pacing laps around the clutter in a pitch-black basement while using one of those metal slinky toys that crawl/roll up and down your arms for an hour at a time.

august 19th- growth diaries
wait so you’re telling me that I like things that are good for me??🎀
woke up late and put off studying for a while
tried driving!!!
went to the gym (LEG DAY 🏋️‍♀️ )
studied for 2.5hrs in the afternoon
took my dog for a walk
prepared a protein dip for raw carrots (I’m obsessed)
studying some more at 10:30pm (hopefully finishing at least one of the 2 chapters I was supposed to do today)
I’ve seen this amazing video about how often we think that we ‘should’ do productive and responsible things and we forget that we truly like to do said things.
today when I woke up too late on accident I felt like couldn’t have a nice day because I was supposed to exercise… I then reminded myself that I actually like moving my body, that’s why I make such a big deal of it… going to the gym really saved the day:)
checking my goals
-showed up for myself ✅
- worked on my discipline ✅
- met my fitness goal ✅
-studied enough ❌
- tried driving ✅
- took my dog for a walk ✅
- read a book ❌

i entirely agree that humans should depend on each other more and that we should try to approach people with open minds and not believe that they are out to get us, on that note, shaming and chastising people for not feeling comfortable to depend on other people and telling them that they need to fix it or they're actually MORE of a bother and a burden is probably not the best way to go about it
#10000 millionth post where some tumblr users' opinion breaches containment and i must comment on it vaguely#listen it is sort of upsetting how it really is true that the majority of those call-out-y posts on peoples' behaviours can be really#damaging for people with ocd. like you re just going to send us on a spiral because now we arent even sure if the thing we were trying to d#as to not cause other people pain is actually causing more pain and oh dear god we're really terrible people ohh fack ive known all along#i think the first step to making people feel more comfortable to take your help and hospitality is probably approaching them kindly?#at least instead of saying we must ''learn to accept it''#plus the mention of individualism and comunialism-- i agree individualism has hurt a lot of people and it is very bad#although to some degree i dont think it is entirely wrong you cannot fully depend on everyone 100% of the time for your own safety#we are as a society not there yet where that is possible. etc etc also learned helplessness#but anyways if youre going to talk about individualism then you have to actually acknowledge that a lot of collectivist societies have cult#cultures in which REFUSING THE HOSPITALITY IS PART OF THE CULTURE!!!! where youre meant to say no many times as a show of respect and as th#host continues to offer it. as well many many many MANY people born from immigrant parents or who are immigrants themselves have a shared#experience of being raised to be as completely clean and polite and small as possible when in someone elses' home#it just really rubbed me the wrong way the entire post...#i just dont think you should get so upset someone doesnt accept your hospitality consider everything is not erm about you and maybe they#arent comfortable enough with you or are having a bad day ?#''i can always tell when they are only saying it because they dont want to be a bother'' no u litearlly cannot#anyways it was a very american post that i did not like.#do help each other and take the help when you need it though we need that.

Revolution
And this is me now! I'm not sharing this to prove that I am great or I did the impossible and this and that or whatever...I just want to say... Friends! That LIFE IS PRECIOUS! AND I'M SIMPLY GRATEFUL! 🙏I'm sharing this so I can inspire and motivate friends, family and people! 😊🤗💪💛👍Love, Light and respect! Mandy
PS! On a strong note...Friends... You don't have to go through an accident like me to realise how precious Life IS! Yet... Accidents happen all the time! That's Life! COVID was the biggest and longest accident and many died because of less immunity. There are other accidents like stress, obesity, mental disorder, heart problems, blood pressure, dibitis and many more. But let me tell you... If you are healthy, You will always come out victorious from these accidents and be able to live life to the fullest! Life - a great opportunity given to us by our loving God! Do not take your existence for granted!Start taking care of yourself! If not now then When...Sorry for being blunt here...I did the 21 days Meditation Challenge last month for inculcating Mindfulness and from tomorrow the 10000 steps for 21 days is for the body. Thanks to many of you who participated. Will come out with some idea for a 21 day Challenge for the SOUL in the near future. The idea is to work on Mind , Body and Soul! Why am I doing this?Because I'm filled with gratitude and don't want to waste this opportunity of being alive again and bringing a change and making this world a better place in which ever small way, if I can and share a beautiful life with my fellow Earthians! 😌🤗🙏For me it's a Revolution... Or rather an Evolution! 💪🤗👍An ascending life, in which we keep striving to grow and improve—this is what is meant by human revolution. Human revolution doesn’t mean becoming something special or different from who we are; it simply means striving to improve, no matter what challenges we face. Each human life, together with its environment, is an expression of the fundamental life-force of the entire cosmos. It follows that any change in the inner life condition of a single human being can, at the deepest level of life itself, exert an influence on other human lives. And since nature and the cosmos are living entities, the waves emanating from one human life can shake the foundations of other living beings, and even affect inanimate forms of life.Learning and sharing... Learning by Sharing! 😌🤗💪💛👍😇🙏Love and light 🌞💛🙏

The Australian Post proves your identity
If your work ever involved directly being involved with children, a background check is required. It’s called the Working With Children Check. Here is the clincher at $123, it is STATE-LEVEL even though any crime you commit is federal level. So, if you are only in the country for a short time, do consider if you wish to work with children. Moving to another state = another check.
To prove your identity after application, you make you way to the post office where you produce 3 documents of identity. Unfortunately, a birth certificate that is not Australian and the foreign identity card did not seem to hold water. Luckily, the staff was very helpful and kind, eventually you got away with the bank account you just opened! Hurray to getting the order of visits right! Hurray to the forces of the commercial world with Westpac being a street before the post office! After all that fuss, in less than 20minutes you get a notification that you pass the check, but your actual card would be delivered in like 4 weeks…
Final stop to help clock in the 10000 steps is of course Kmart and Coles to get living essentials. You end up reliving the nostalgic days of walking 20minutes with a heavy backpack and arms full of groceries. The good old days of university, before you and your housemate in 3rd year chose to pool together and get free online grocery delivery…
You reach home, exhausted but productive. And this time efficient productive – you did tick off all that was on your list. Not like day 1 in Australia ╮(╯▽╰)╭
