so Megan Deitrich has to be the face of the Trust / the 100 Bullets antagonists, because Augustus is too high up, she's new and thus she needs explaining to, she also wouldn't be content the way the others are, she's a woman in a position of power for Naomi and Misa to contrast against, and she has more importance and detail than other Trust characters like Mia Simone.
She changed her name to Megan lrene Deitrich at a courthouse in Bumfuck Nowhere, then destroyed all accessible digital records of the name change. Pronounced "Ell-reen," of course, because it's a lowercase L and not an uppercase i. She knows that Kira needs proper spelling to kill you and is not taking chances on that front. Unlike the very reactive and "eh, let them do as they like" Augustus, she wants to take initiative and protect herself against threats.
Mello in DN canon worked for "the Mafia" with no other details, under Rod Ross, and not a lot of it made sense if you tried to dig into the details (and to be fair, unlike a lot of other DN stuff that made no sense, most of the things wrong with Mello's Mafia didn't really warrant probing in the series). Simple economy of things says this can't be another, unrelated crime organization, and it has to be related to the Trust. Rod Ross therefore works under Megan lrene Deitrich.
The question is: when Mello works for Rod Ross, is this a relationship that his boss Megan Deitrich doesn't need to know about? Or is Ross her right hand man, and he works ultimately for her, in a relationship her boss Augustus di Medici doesn't need to know about?

Today’s confession is that I saw people talking about how attracted to Phillip Graves they were and was severely disappointed when I realized they didn’t mean the old man from 100 Bullets.

03/24/25: Monday Yuma trip! Was my day off, so I went with a friend to look for media in said city. And I found plenty. A Pawn shop, two Walmarts and Goodwills. I did go to gamestop, but I didn't find anything to complete their own sale. There was nice Walmart clearance and new markdowns. The Batman figures were $8.00 each. I got two steelbook blurays with a nice price. Cult of the Lamb switch has become $20 now. Lego Brawls was $5.00, and the other two racing games were $10 each. From a pawnshop, these four blurays were $10 for all of them. I spent the most money at the two Goodwills. From one store it was three books and the other store had more. I bought a bunch of books and movies and clothes. Some books were overpriced and others quite cheap. One graphic novel has extra numbered artwork and an autograph. So its higher price is justified. There's some neat little comics and a mini gallery book of one of my favorite artists: M.C. Escher. I bought lots of extra shirts, but the ones in the third picture have the witty text and are comics/anime related. The drain here on my wallet was around $70 bucks. The toll to pay to have nice things.

What if the peak lords concluded that the most likely answer to the mystery of Shen Qingqiu's behavior is not that he's possessed now (because they checked and all the tests came out negative), but that he must have actually been possessed before?
No one thought to check him before, after all. They just figured he was an asshole. But then he suffers a qi deviation, almost dies, but comes back nicer. Only slightly lacking in context for his own past behavior and lifestyle, too.
It fits remarkably well, doesn't it? All this time the real Shen Qingqiu must have been trying to free himself from a demonic spirit that took possession of him in his youth! It was the demon who was the asshole, dragging his poor host to brothels, alienating his sect siblings so that they wouldn't investigate him too closely, abusing his disciples and probably weakening the sect from within as part of some nefarious plot!
But then the real Shen Qingqiu finally managed to beat back the demon himself, even being gracious enough not to point out what happened to his martial siblings and so save the sect's face. What a guy.
#svsss#scum villain#scum villain's self saving system#shen qingqiu#shen yuan#yue qingyuan is the only one who doesn't find this shockingly plausible but he can't actually explain why#so the other peak lords just think he's prioritizing their sect's reputation for once in his life by tactfully dismissing the idea#wei qingwei is 100% convinced though#man's going around all the peaks now just casually doing possession checks#thinking about making that a regularly scheduled thing like he'll just work some annual tour of the peaks with hong jing into his schedule#shang qinghua sweating bullets putting more wards on his house#frantically trying to remember if he ever wrote a concept where sqq was possessed or not#maybe??? he did??? it was a long time ago and he cycled through a lot of ideas okay
